The part about lobby dodging is very true - that's where the "backfill" issue happens which we've mentioned previously and which is something that is being worked on.
Would it be possible to get an explanation of the Backfill Problem somewhere?? How does it work and what problems does it cause?
-
Its OP because its gonna be a knife in the current Survivor Meta of 99% the Exit Gates.
This is how I wish Bloodwarden worked.
-
I hope they do something about Dead Hard. That's all.
-
At some point a new player would end up against an experienced player, Why do you think that is never supposed to happen?
Like if there are too few Killers in a region, and a lobby has waited for too long, its gonna have priority, right?
So games like this is gonna happen, its just not supposed to be the norm.
-
Hmm.
7daystodie, Barotrauma, Cookie Clicker, Dark Souls, Dread Hunger, Factorio, The Forest, Monstrum, Oxygen Not Included, Phasmaphobia, Raft, Satisfactory, Space Engineers and Valheim.
-
Having plays with the old System, MMR still has better quality of matches.
-
Its a tool designed for Killers to prevent forever chases vs. talented survivors.
-
and then there is the much worse thing to balance around... Luck.
-
Maybe some don't have a problem with MMR the same problems as you do.
-
Its pretty simple.
-
Its a relief.

Not a dev or anything like that, but from what I have gathered from some of Mandy’s comments on this, she is the one collecting the forum feedback mainly and is forwarding this towards the team.
i don’t think there is a complete master list of everything from the forums, as this is probably a pretty dynamic list (or whatever form they are forwarding the feedback/data)
Mandy pls, Spill the beans. Idd love to know how it works.

Don't mind the childish Survivors who goat you, throw them a verbal report and leave.
-
I don't dodge Lobbies as Killer. I just have fun with them instead, I am not afraid.

I agree. As the title suggests, it's balanced on luck. I just thought it'll be fun to watch those skilled streamers play this killer (that's where the idea started).
Anyway, I've expanded the add-ons section with things that might allow this killer to be played more systematically. The way I see it, if you can get some traps first to set up a territory, then you can use other killer powers to defend it (basically giving yourself a better, but RNG-reliant Trapper).
I hope not, I hate addon reliant Killers.
-
Seems a bit weird, You have to go to a gen that is being worked on, instead of chasing survivor, you then have to play the slot machine and hope you get something that will make up for the time you waste there. Not only that, you are a m1 powerless killer when traveling between gens if you fail to capitalize on the random power you get.
I imagine this Killer being really bad, the concept basically is too open to be balanced, imagine getting bad RNG or Powers you are bad at using all game vs getting good RNG and powers you are great at using all game. Its a game design/balance nightmare.

If being camped were part of the game then you would get points for being stuck on the hook from first hook to third hook. As the game is now you lose pips when you are camped. Also the should change the game description to hook simulator.
Not true, You might aswell argue the killer should get points for generators being done.

Being hooked once and being forced to stay there for all three hooks has nothing to do with skill. If the killer camps the hook there is no way to escape. This is why camping is interring with a players ability to enjoy the BHVR service.
Not if being Camped is part of the game. Then it just means you are not enjoying the Service you are supposed to.

You can't play the game, let alone enjoy it, if you are stuck on first hook until you die. If that happens because a killer is standing there camping you, they are actively preventing you from even participating in the match.
Being on a hook is part of the game, You could equally argue being hooked robs you of your ability to play.
LOL the devs are gonna have a chuckle about this one for sure.

That is exactly my point. Including camping on the list of "non bannable" offenses contradicts the EULA. Here is a quote from the official rules post on these forums: "In case of conflict between the EULA and this page, the EULA will prevail."
No, cause Camping is an outcome of the way the game is played. You still have the ability to enjoy it, you are just not skilled enough to do it.
Its a nice try, but April 1st was yesterday.
-
Thanks Tom. Nice try tho Survivors, better luck next time.

The problem with this version is that it rewards poor Killers. It rewards for basement bubba, camping killers, etc. It just feels cheap.
- There is nothing wrong with having perks that do something for poor killers.
- Its not cheap, you play without a perk slot for the entire game until it maybe activates.
- Its not cheap, Survivors can prevent it.
- Because a specific strategy can exploit it is not good enough reason to change a perk.
- There is already things in development to deal with face camping.
-
I prefer the current version.
- It teaches Survivors about totem spawn locations.
- It slows down the game cause Survivors may want to do the dull totems.
- It being a Hex perk is sufficient over a cool down.
- The perk is strong but a gamble on Survivors not being able to work together and do totems.
-
I feel sorry for VHS, because bratty DBD players will use it to play with BHVR and such players really ought to just go play something else.
This is a terrible way to treat a developer.
-
I think the maps play great and look great, but I do agree they are not spooky any more.
Gone are the days of seeing a shadow between the trees and wondering what it was.
-
when its ready.
-
So its today then?
-
You guys really worry a lot over numbers which dont show the full picture to make suggestions which you dont know will solve said problem and all of this is BHVR's table anyway. You ought to cut the worry and focus on suggesting good ideas to BHVR only.
Let BHVR deal with steam players who leave the game and all that.
-
There is a part of the Community that refuses to engage with RPD, they try to say its about the map being bad. But having talked to a load of them, I think its just about them refusing to learn the layouts. They have put in their heads that RPD should not be learned and they never will.
Sad. because its one of my fav maps and I win so often on here.

I am not deaf, but only have like 5% hearing in my left ear, which basically screws me when it comes to determining sound directionality and audio tracking. I can hear things, but generally not at all where the source of the sound is, and 3D headphones are pretty much useless. I really like playing as Spirit, but feel like I am a massive disadvantage with her, and in general with many others.
I'm sure I am not the only person with this sort of impairment, and it can be enormously frustrating.
Has there been any consideration given to adding in some sort of visual cue (even just a subtle indication at the peripheries of the screen) for player generated sounds?
Is there an equipment solution I might not be aware of?
Mobile version of the game have what you need, BHVR has been asked many times if they could import those into all versions of the game.
But idk how far up the priority pipeline it is.

Call the history department, we have an undead Babylonian to catch.

No, they are not. Some of them are on your way and you can't advance through challenges without completing them. Otherwise you'd have to go around that specific challenge by attempting to complete a bunch of other challenges that are connected to each other.
I did see a friend open 5 chests in a game yesterday tho before they started to work on gens. :P

Can't u devs see we all hate the update and check the steamcharts the playrate dropped 50% ever since the SBMM was added, will u guys remove it already?!
I have had some of my best matches with SBMM. Its 101% better than the old system.
Also, what if the Steam chart numbers are dropping for a different reason than SBMM?
You cant just assume a reason and then say the numbers support it, you got to establish clear cause.

I got reported the other day for marking ppl as Ghostface 😂
No wonder all those real cheaters don't get banned if BHVR has to go through all those fake reports from people who don't even know how the game works...
You have a point there, @MandyTalk any chance you could tell us how much time is used on reports that turns out to be invalid vs. actual cheaters? I wonder if FeelsBadMan here has a point about fake reports being made being a burden on BHVR?

Ok thanks cuz i was really worried
Dont be worried, Survivors and Killers know that they can get under your skin that way. They always do it.
-
idk the specifics, but I bet it has everything to do with muney.
-
you need the console manufacturer to be on board, not easy.
-
NOED has some of the most difficult & skillful requirements to activate.
- You have to play without 1 perk which only is active in the end.
- The perk requires a totem, an dull unlit totem in fact.
- You need to somehow keep Survivors busy enough to not clear totems or boon them the entire game.
- Totems which are at locations you don't even know.
-
Yeah, I can see this being a good solution. People cant move hips like that in real life. But wont a lot of users complain? like back when BHVR decided to try to make survivor movements look different. T bagging the Killer is kinda fun.

I remember when healing was nerfed - it gave birth to the Resiliance, Spine Chill, Iron Will, Adrenaline meta and I believe it most definitely gave rise to what we now refer to as "gen rushing". Prior to that, Survivors would spend more time healing but this change showed survivors that they were wasting time healing and focus the generators instead. Survivors adapted to the changes and developed a new meta basically, which is something that will always happen.
I don't mind survivors healing, as I know that's less time they're spending on gens. Speed of healing could possibly be an issue - super fast medkits etc, but I do not think healing itself is the biggest issue.
Hi Mandy, if superfast medkits are a problem would it be possible to do a general nerf to items or keep the strong tiems but maybe add a risk of dropping your item when hit by the killer. (a feature I have wished for a long time.) Should I make a feedback discussion about it?
-
You should put this in Feedback/Suggestions.
Can we please have the possibility for a hook to spawn in the basement of Springwood.

My main gripe with SBMM has been that it accepts way too wide of a range when queues get long. Survivor is practically unplayable for me at peak hours and killer is a breeze. It's actually fairly consistent off-hours though. I generally get teammates around my experience level and the killer games are really tough. It does its job when it wants to.
Do you prefer speed over crucial matchmaking?
BHVR could implement an option in the menus, a toggle do you want Q speed or fairer matchmaking?
-
GOOD IDEA.
That would make his Aura power really good.

The great conversation you can have with the community. 😎
The game is great to play and it can only get better.

Have mute focus active and tab out during the hooking animation. Click back in just after it's finished. Bam, silent hooks

doing things specifically to aggravate other people. hitting on hook, t-bagging, clicking, etc. stuff that gives you no advantage but is annoying to deal with, for some people at least
Hitting on hook is bad manners? Have you heard how loud you guys scream?

You can't see how that problem is immediately fixed upon removal of perk Tiers?
The problem would also be fixed by unlocking all perks from the beginning. its about keeping the grind, without requiring the grind.
