Some of these challenges are annoying. You don’t really feel like playing multiple games to finish them out.
I challenged myself to finish Grease Monkey in a single game. Perks- Built to Last, Ace in the Hole, Plunderers Instinct and Fixated for some reason. Offering was a Shiny Coin. Started off with a brown tool box.
I didn’t really think this would work but I like to try and challenge myself. It looks like built to last counts towards a finished tool box because I used the initial tool box I started with and used it again, grabbed three more out of chests and I finished the challenge in one go against a Ghost Face.
built to last will count for two different items even if you only depleted 1 item twice. It's really great for the toolbox challenges.

From my experience so far playing a few games of survivor and killer i've noticed a few differences. Looping is much easier and cars loops are the bane of killers now, there are some infinites without bloodlust, It requires survivors to make more mistakes during a chase, if the killer makes a mistake it can cost them loads of time now.
I feel they should keep blood lust 1 at minimum as the car loops i've seen are just stupid and waste way too much time.

is it me or is anyone waiting a bit too long to find a match as survivor today all of a sudden?
Survivor has been super long queues since cross-play for most night time hours and weekends. Killer queues are instant most of the time.

Nope. The game takes a snapshot of your account pre-PTB and when you return to live servers, that's what your account looks like.
Edit: unless just never returned to live servers, in which case I have no idea what'll happen
you won't be able to play because the ptb will be closed.
It doesn't transfer. It's just for people to give feedback, find bugs, see the new content. you're things won't transfer over your save on the main game will not change.
-
I don't really think bloodlust will be removed but probably reworked again in some way. I feel tier 1 is decent to have but past that is just compensating for not being that great.

How are people arguing over this? Great idea, +1
because it's just not really a huge issue and voice comms would be better suited for it but no one wants voice comms. Also It would probably cause some huge amount of bugs or unintended issues in game.

Oh, I just thought that since there was a ranking system, it had skill based matchmaking.
It hasn't been skill based in quite some time. You will frequently see rainbow ranks. It doesn't mean much rank hardly matters. It's easier to pip or safety pip than depip.
-
People choose dead hard because it is one of the most consistent of the exhaust perks. The use of dodging a hit is less than amazing but for gaining a small bit of distance it works wonders.

just for the sake of experiment, play against one and same killer of your level with and without comms while trying your best to see how big of a difference comms and extra info make.
I wouldn't use it honestly. I don't play the game competitively and i don't really think it should be played that way. Sure people will play that way but i personally wouldn't want random text popping up or misclicking and a chat box popping up mid chase.
-
depends really. They will need to address infinites created by lack of bloodlust. I haven't gotten around to killer yet to test it out for myself.
-
Do people actually have that hard of a time solo queueing and think it's a communication issue? More often than not it's just other survivors acting like they're braindead. I feel like people exaggerate how strong swf is typically. I mean yes, survivors do get more info and such but most of the time when i am i play with friend we usually are just bsing and joking around.

Does anyone else notice this? I've literally seen people wearing dark clothes disappear while running in a straight line in front of me. Is there wany way to turn up my brightness on console?
I don't know why it happens only sometimes. I have issues chasing blendettes there when it does.
-
Are you surprised though? That's the real question. SWF will almost always have at minimum one guy who will run his mouth to you in end game regardless of how it goes. They're typically not worth interacting with but yea i've had more survivors act toxic than killers. It is a 4 to 1 chance though so it may be more common to see survivors act out to you as killer simply because there are more chances for it to happen.
-
I think it's more of people would be confused and angry if they didn't sort of thing. I would like more transparency about things but this just seems like a "were doing some tests so don't get angry because we told you" thing.
-
I'm not basing it on how i feel i'm basing it on how they have acted and have been acting. I mean where is the mmr matchmaking that was planned to be out already? I understand they are looking at everything and doing what they think will help but idk really. I've played this game since release and it's gotten better in some ways but a ton worse in others.

This whole Community is exploding right now, and I ask you to relax.
We all knew it was coming, Bloodlust has been contentious ever since it was implemented. So its no surprise BHVR wants to put it to the test, even tho many of us feel Bloodlust is part of the game now. Regardless of how we feel, We must engage in this test and play as we would normally. This is for the good of the game, For Balance.
I have always been a fan of Bloodlust, it was necessary and sometimes its a genuine help. BUT..
If BHVR sees a reason it should leave the Game because its causing problems or all maps are now balanced, as some players claim, then we should at least allow them to test it properly and not throw a fit. You can always tell BHVR what your opinion is afterwards. I plan to do that, but this comes after the test, NOT BEFORE.
Come on now, lets see if the game really would be better without first and report back to BHVR, ok?
I don't really know if they will listen to our feedback unless it's 90% of the community. They will do what they want regardless of how anyone feels according to there "data" they collect. I don't exactly dislike the company, but they have been getting quieter and quieter. Kind of miss the weekly streams and videos talking about stuff. Felt a bit more like they cared about the community and wanted to interact with everyone.
-
I don't understand the whole losing add-ons because the other does. Sure it's consistent with killers but killers also have less add-ons to sort through. it would be fine if you could pick your add-ons but it's super rng based in the bloodwebs.

I usually use 3 detection and 1 chase perk, slowdown perks bore me to death.
I don't use slow down perks and i tend to really just run bbq, brutal strength, distressing, and beast of prey. The only staple perk i really use is bbq, the others i replace depending on the killer or what i wanna do that day.

Maybe I underestimate the perk, that's true, but I simply don't see flashlights having a real use unless the killer is bad, so I don't see the point in using a perk slot to count such a pointless item.
I mean what would you prefer to use for perks? cause honestly my 4th perk slot is typically just whatever i want. I don't need certain perks to be decent i usually just run bp farming builds on killer. I don't see it as a waste of a perk space because there isn't any other perk i really need.

Flashlights are useless if you have ears and you get blinded at pallets, and flashlight saves are easily countered. And no one should mind survivor bming because it doesnt affect gameplay at all, you can simply not care and it won't affect you at all, flashlights are quite posibbly the worst items a survivor can give.
I mean it's funny though when there's 4 flashlights and they trying to blind you but can't. The end game chat is usually them spewing insults because i used lightborn. I feel like you underestimate the perk a bit too much.
-
SWF teams are fun cause you can always expect them to be overly altruistic. There is the occasional group out to ruin your day with flashlights but lightborn tends to irritate them more than they irritate me.

Wraith is pretty add-on dependent but is alright still. I play him occasionally.

For some reason I keep thinking trapper is not that good because his power is so basic it just trap that might work or not work but again he seem as the faster killer in the game than any other killer to me too.
thing with traps is if you place them in the right spots they become a menace to survivors. It makes going in grassy areas a risk and makes some windows and pallets unsafe. He does also feel really fast which is nice.
-
@yadielrodriguez said:
Who is better clown or trapper
I think clown because he can slow survivors down also have a exhausted add on that is good against red ranks and pink finger and trapper only have to do is pick up trap and place them which sometime waste time but he also seem to be a faster killer when a survivor go against him.
Who is better legion or plague
Both are great especially put them in injure mode but both got that bad slightly problem where one small move mistake happen then it end fast and can't recover the momentum fast like other top killers does.
Clown is going to get reworked probably soon and may lose the exhaust add-on. Trapper is better cause traps cause survivors to be cautious especially with traps setting themself add-on.
Plague isn't bad but i think she gets buggy frequently because of updates. Legion is fun in my opinion and i can usually do pretty decent as legion with less than ideal add-ons.
TLDR: Trapper and legion are better in my opinion.
-
You see you're saying it's a public match game but the issue is it's not. It's forced ranked each game whether its survivor or killer. There is no "casual" mode. It is all ranked play.
-
@yadielrodriguez said:
Who got like a feeling of having their speed increase than normal speed like example trapper when he walk his speed is so fast but when clown walk his speed is normal when they both got equal speed.
could be a height thing. Freddy has normal speed and it's why people underestimate his lunge.

I feel like you don't really get the point either. People DC for a reason. I don't think I've met anyone who hasn't had a valid reason to DC unless they've missed DS, which I do think isn't a valid reason. People will typically DC because they got tunneled, camped, or something (Like a hacker) comes up. I do agree, a DC that someone shouldn't have done is annoying, but how many times have you had someone DC for the reason "I wanted to because things were completely fair on both ends".
That's not a valid reason. dcing because you got tunneled or camped or whatever isn't a good reason. It's unsportsmanlike and sad to say it will happen. Don't act like it's fine to ruin things for other players because something didn't go your way. Being mad and rage quitting is never an excuse
-

While I didn't get video evidence I did report them and I hope they're banned from the game sooner than later. I'd also like to apologize for calling that person brain dead, I was pretty tilted at the moment. To make my point clear for anyone who doesn't understand: The DC penalty should not exist, because players always have a reason to DC. I haven't met anybody who thought that their sole goal in a match was to DC by the end.
The only valid reason to dc is a real life problem coming up. Dcing in general is very unsportsmanlike. Just because something happens that you don't like doesn't make it right to dc.

i'd say thompson house as of now, haven't played any of the updated maps for the next chapter. I think the badham maps are pretty decent since the update and good use of the breakable walls. Other updated maps and since the addition of breakable walls have made maps a little annoying for either survivor or killer. Macmillan is okay but the breakable walls on some maps are a pain for killer.
-
Since they basically are adding killer secondary objectives (breakable walls) survivors should also get something equally as annoying.
-
yea i'm a bit annoyed with how last years "halloween" skins were handled through the rift. i finished the rift and completely forgot about my currency to buy the skins and lost the currency so i lost out on 3 skins.

Easiest solution: timer goes down twice as fast if the survivor is doing an action such as repairing a generator;
If in chase with killer, the timer slows down by the same factor.
I like this idea a lot more than mine. It makes it reasonable for each side.
-
A big issue isn't gen times, it's map size and the loops available on each map. This is being addressed somewhat with the graphic rework on maps.

I have come up with a idea of how to fix DS without making it bad and making it fair for both sides here’s how I would change it.
After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive strike will become activated. While Decisive strike is active, when grabbed by the killer, succeed a skill check to automatically escape the killers grasp and stun the killer for 3/4/5 seconds.
. Succeeding the skillcheck will disable Decisive strike.
. Stunning the killer with this perk will make you the obsession.
. Decisive strike deactivates when the killer hooks another survivor.
so that’s my change I got rid of all it’s problems and made it so much better it doesn’t have a time limit anymore and the killer can deactivate the perk by not tunneling. Thoughts?
A better change would be lower the timer a bit (you know like they did to POTG because it lasts toooooo long) or make the timer burn double if full healed. Tired of getting d-striked after downing someone else across the map, going back where the person was hooked, chasing them who are now full healed, downing them and getting dstriked.

I still remember that one survey that had whole bunch of cool customization ideas. But knowing BHVR they'd just charge ridiculous amounts for it.
yea... I just wish i could make my characters more diverse instead of just the 3 pieces of clothing. Charms don't really change much other than saying "hey look how far i got on the rift!"
-
It's understandable completely. The levels of toxicity i have received in the past few days alone are awful considering i burned a ghostly gateau every match and didn't use anything super toxic for perks (bbq&c, brutal strength, distressing, beast of prey). I have just been farming bloodpoints on oni because i got a million anniversary cakes on him.
I've just been constantly barraged by people saying i suck, or i don't belong in red ranks, etc. I have found i get insulted severely if i use lightborn when 2-3 flashlights are equipped as well. I just ignore the insults for the most part, but it is quite sad i must admit that people have to act that way.

With how BHVR has been implementing charms, it seems like they were made with the sole purpose of padding the free track of the rift.
Most of the free track is comprised of charms, with the odd mobile reskin thrown in here and there. Why can't they fill in the empty spaces with iridescent shards? Or make a temporary blood point booster? Literally anything would be better than charms.
To answer a few questions you have from what i've seen:
charms typically tend to be exclusive to rifts(premium and free), redemption codes, or secret eastereggs (silent hill one).
Iridescent shards would be amazing on the rift i definitely like that idea.
On to the bloodpoint booster suggestion, do you want more monetization in this game? Because those would be sold at a premium (similar to sieges renown boosters) while also being included on the rift.
The reason they load it up with charms i assume is exclusivity to that rift. I find charms rather pointless most of the time i'd honestly prefer more customization options but that's just me.
-
Not sure but I think it may only be on macmillan maps as the hills have more rocks on them since the rework.

Im assuming it’ll be within the next 2 weeks or so but am curious as to if anyone knows
A week or two i'd assume. New chapter should be out early to mid December if they're keeping with their current release pattern.

Gonna make this short
1- Survivors know eachothers perks in the lobby and by pressing ESC during gameplay
2- Kindred built-in (for solo players)
3- Totem counter
4- Chase notification starter (if another teammate is in a chase we get a sound notification) No, this doesn't nerf stealthy killers since SWF will know that one of their teammates is in chase or was ambushed, so solo players knowing as well is balancing them with swfs
What do you guys think?
1 knowing others perks doesn't matter a ton.
2 kindred is a good idea but how they'd implement that for solo only idk.
3 totem counter should be on small game not just for solo if i'm being honest.
4 chase notifications are slightly irrelevant as well, pay attention to your surrounds/heartbeat, if it's a good killer they won't stick to the chase with a chance to gain an easier hit/injure.
-
I'd say a good thing for iri head would be: slower hatchet charge rate, has to be fully charged in order to insta down, or a minimum distance to down someone.

Not everyone is good at looping or takes fun out of chases. Why is that such a hard concept to grasp?
because the op was complaining that it's too easy once you get used to it.
-
@Wanno said:
Just had a game against a perma lvl 3 michael. I do 2 gens, escape through hatch and get 1 safe unhook and 1 revive and (because of the lvl 3) i get into no chases and just use stealth. Escape. Finish game. 2 golds a bronze and no emblem and thats enough to derank me from 4 to 5...
Long story short. The pip system is broken. There should be an emblem for stealth (being within a certain radius to killer while being undetected) and escaping should guarentee atleast safety pip.
It's actually broken in the fact that being chased while others do generators will make both your evader and lightbringer emblem go up a lot. Basically it's easier to pip if you're being chased than if you're hiding.
-
depends what ranks you're in and the killer. If you play an insta down killer you will get a lot less emblem progress. I've gotten 4ks with oni where the match had gone on for a good 10-15 minutes and barely safety pipped.
-
A big issue is some people can't take the loss and learn from it, it has to be anyone but there fault. Instead of learning from it they will complain complain complain. Sure there are strong things on both sides and benefits to each but i don't understand why it's necessary to always be hostile towards one another because of it.
-
dcing wastes time for the most part. You lose your points, exp gained, and the time you spent searching/loading into the game + the penalty. It just feels pointless. Things can be frustrating at times but again there's always the next match.

EVERY F*****G KILLER IS JUST TUNNELING, CAMPING, AND SLUGGING BY THE HOOK CAUSE THEY DONT CARE CAUSE THEY GET A SH!T TON ON BP ANYWAY... only thing keeping me playing is double bp.
Im sick of the “just do gens” crap, ITS NOT FUN GAMEPLAY FOR ANYONE.
I dont play killer anymore cause its dumb af at high ranks and survivor i only play cause of friends... we didnt need graphical updates, or minor changes to useless perks making them still useless.... make the game play good, change the meta, add somethings to the game to add some variety to the game play for survivor cause its the same boring gameplay once you get good at looping and time management.
but by the sound of the post it doesn't seem like you're very good at either looping or time management in game? Why do you play this if it's causing negative emotions? I really don't get it. If you're not having fun doing something that is meant for FUN then don't do it.
-
Yes, make it more consistent to skill level or make the reset actually reset players ranks like it used to.
-
my assumption: Killer = 2-3x as many bloodpoints as survivors per game and with the the weekend, well, this isn't anything new.

I've been having a lot of games lately where the killer slugs a lot even if a single gen hasn't been done yet. In fact I had doctor doing and I kept getting my teammates up (thank god for WGLF) but when I picked one up in his face (this was after two gens got done and he was still slugging a lot) he then hooks me and constantly hits me over and over while my teammates get the other gens done
Can someone tell what with the constant slugging, especially at 5 gens remaining no less?
Pressure. An easy way to keep survivors occupied with stuff aside from generators is to slug them. It's typically more effective if you get into another chase immediately as now 3 survivors minimum are distracted.
