I'm not understanding why everyone is saying that the survivors " don't have time to do dull totems". There is no time limit to how long a match can last (though I think there SHOULD be a hard limit, but that is a discussion for another thread).
I agree that it feels cheap to have NOED activate even after face camping your first hook, so I would agree that a minimum number of hooks should be required for the perk to activate. Other than that, I don't see NOED as a problem.
I've because most survivors just didn't do them, so it feels like they take so much time. In reality if each survivor did must one totem, casually between gets, they’d all be done before NOED even has a chance. It's extremely easy to achieve but even with totem tracking perks, it scarcely happens.
-
It's bad. I play killer more these days and I'm getting really bored with survivors DCing and ruining the match. I let the others farm and leave usually but it's getting old fast.
-
7 generators
4 survivors
3 hooks per survivor
DH
Sprintburst
Unbreakable
DS
Medkits
Tool boxes
80 second gen speed with no tool box or great skill checks
That's pretty much why.
-
Basically play as an M1 killer with mobility on open maps, use your chainsaw to down in open areas. Curving even as a skilled Billy is not possible on the majority of tiles IF survivors know how to move optimally.

I'm quite convinced on the contrary, since as I said it's stated in their game rules that obtain unfair advantages through stuff that isn't even supposed to be in the game is considered an exploit, therefore bannable, but aside this I'm tired in general about this topic being "unclear" if you know what I mean and i want a definitive answer once and for all from the devs
I agree stretched res is an unfair advantage/crutch, however we are talking about a game which has “famous hackers” who get flashlight blinds from underneath the map, hundreds of reports, plenty of video evidence, but they don't seem to get banned.
-
Bonus bloodpoints for every 10x teabags within a 4 metre radius of the killer.
Or something boring like a buff that survivors have to activate but if the killer prevents them, they get a buff instead.

Yea, especially since data collected by BHVR is full of holes and errors and a control group. I mean Nurse is S tier but has the lowest kill rate in DBD. So they nerf freddy. kk
Its comical at this point. Just gotta try and laugh at it, hope for the best 🤣

Yea he can't do everything as well as he used to. But that's the point. Him just existing meant you were zoned out of everything. If you were in the open you had to dodge because you didn't know when he'd shoot. And if he didn't shoot then you lost distance. At a loop you couldn't take windows because he could shoot you during the animation. If you dropped certain pallets he could reel around the side and hit you (and he still can do that). That's considering you even reached the pallet before you got speared.
He just plays like Huntress now. He has actual balance instead of winning in every possible scenario.
Yeah, I was just responding to where you said:
“He can still do everything he did before just as good as he always could”
Which is just patently false 😅
That being said, I understand why the change to his aiming was made, but that doesn't soften the blow of an already weak killer being nerfed, nor does he feel any less clunky/awkward to play.
He was a B tier killer at best and already struggled to hold his own vs decent survivors. Sure, introduce some counter play but at least add something to compensate!
What did they do instead? They nerfed him even further by increasing his terror radius! 😂
Soon this game will have only 2 competitive killers left. Think about that. It's sort of ridiculous if you're being objective.
-
Nah. We need at least 3 or 4 actually strong killers. Spirit was fine anyway aside from being annoying due constant guesswork. Now you know where she's coming from and can act accordingly, speed or no speed, there's countrrplay and you can vault that window or drop that pallet in the right side.
Nerfing Spirit further doesn't make any sense tbh. Survivors are already getting B tier killers like Wraith and Deathslinger nerfed. If it keeps going this way, soon you'll have nothing left to even fight against. The game ain't going to be fun for most if they’re just steamrolling through every match.
-
Honestly, as broken as DH is, I still pick Windows more often than not because I enjoy the awareness it brings. That being said DH + Windows is possible in most of my builds.
-
@Vampwire said:
Seriously people are being wayyy too dramatic about this change. All you have to do now is plan your shots instead of reaction shooting. He can still do everything he did before just as good as he always could. You can still reel around corners and zone. He just cant zone you solely because he exists. That was the problem before. It was unfair gameplay for the survivor side since all you could do was guess. You could only rely on the Deathslinger being bad at the game to not die. This change is just an objective positive for the game.
Objectively speaking, he def can’t do everything he did before. Sure he can still hit some cool shots, but no amount of “planning ahead” will make some things possible now. Also bare in mind his terror radius was nerfed for no reason and now everyone has a huge warning and can just hold W. His map pressure was already one of the worst in the game. Just hold W and watch his pressure crumble.
-
I play stealth pig and this build looks fun to try tbh. People play very altruistic vs. my stealth pig.
-
Totems seem to spawn in intentionally obvious places these days. More often than not mine spawn right next to gens or just out in the open.
I had a match a few days ago where ruin, undying, devour hope and retribution all got cleansed within 5 minutes, 2 of them at pretty much the same time lol.
-
Yeah BTL is extremely strong. You can pop gens crazy fast and being in a 3 gen is essentially impossible if you use it correctly.
-
@Pulsar said:
After many years, I'm finally on-board with a change to NOED. I don't think it's a healthy perk for the game.
I've been seeing more and more Killers use Corrupt, Ruin, Undying and NOED (or some variation of that) and they are not bad Killers. They are good players and are getting 6-7 hooks and a Kill by the time the gens are done. NOED in the hands of a semi-decent Killer is more than the last ditch effort perk it was supposed to be, it's a guaranteed value 2K minimum perk. Before people get too upset, I don't want it nerfed. It can stay at the same power level, it's just how it is now is not good for the game.
Most Survivor players (especially Solo Q) do not have the time to look and scour the maps for totems. Maps like The Game, Hawkins or Midwich are especially good for hiding totems and it only take one singular dull totem to activate NOED.
Again, I don't necessarily want it to be nerfed and I do not think it is overpowered, but I do want it to be changed as I believe it is unhealthy. Perhaps to a reverse Corrupt Intervention, "After 3 gens have been completed, the Entity blocks 3 of the 5 remaining gens in the Trial for 60 seconds." I dunno, just an idea I had, didn't put much thought into it.
What are your thoughts?
It's a cool idea but I don't think noed needs any changes and I disagree that it's healthy for the game in its current state. If DH we're changed and weaker killers were buffed, etc etc, then noed could be looked into I suppose, but as it stands? Not any issues imho.

why? is Steam built on, or around NFTs?
Well, steam negatively impacts the environment to a much larger degree than any of the NFTs they ban from their platform. For the sake of consistency I think they should disband and liquidate their assets.

Would you have been happier with a lullaby vs a traditional terror radius?
Well I’d have been happier if they left just his terror radius as it was because his kit/design revolves around it being lower than normal.
BHVRs rationale for the nerf was to “bring it in line with other ranged killers,” whilst ignoring the actual design of the killers in question, which is frankly odd and illogical imho.
Huntress has a lullaby for a reason, just as Slinger had stealth for a reason.
She has massive range, incredible lethality and pressure which can down 2 and injure a third before needing to reload, one of the fastest TTKs in the game, can get downs over pallets and many tiles, good map pressure + zoning despite being a slow moving killer, etc.
Slinger on the other hand has a small range, has to hit the shot and then reel the survivor in which can be countered to a degree by objects in the environment and significantly so by body blocking, gets stunned every time the chain breaks, has to reload after every shot regardless, consequently having one of the slowest TTKs in the game in many scenarios, can't get downs over pallets and many tiles, is countered by pre-dropping, with terrible map pressure, etc.
This laundry list of drawbacks caked into his kit were the reason for his stealth in the first place, just as the insane lethality and pressure caked into Huntress’ kit are the reason for her lullaby.
Now with Slinger, not only do you have to work with these drawbacks, but everyone gets a huge warning and can just hold W to a strong tile, safely out the range of your 1 damage state, slow attack and consequent stun and/or reload.
A killer with some of the lowest map pressure in the game and one of the lowest TTKs, giving everyone a huge heads up, just because “Huntress and Trickster.”
It's silly.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I personally think they could have just started with the terror radius (not the ADS changes) and went from there if needed. It seems a bit much to make such drastic changes to a character that doesn't even have a high pick rate to begin with (afaik - that's anecdotal).
The terror radius nerf is irrational and unnecessary though. There are several reason why Slinger had a smaller terror radius, and the change totally throws all that out the window for seemingly no reason other than “huntress and trickster.”

Just let them have this. They can only get disgraced by NOED so much and then dismissed until they snap. Just smile and wave, El Gingerino. Smile and wave!
*laughs in NOED*
-
It's too early to tell tbh but they do seem sort of ridiculous in some scenarios and the value they provide seems a tad excessive. I think they'll be mostly fine for solos, mostly, and broken in SWF like most things.
-

Do bones.
I always see these comments and they’re usually upvoted, but they totally miss the mark. It's not even comparable.
-
It's extremely strong. The argument of getting into lockers and waiting making it slower than staying on the gen assumes you're always an, e to stay on any given gen until it's completed. In reality there are numerous opportunities to jump in a locker for 12 seconds that have little impact on your ability to pressure gens. Example standing in a locker instead of behind a rock while the killer checks the gen.
-
This hit validation malarkey is certainly suspect and it’s entirely possible that it doesn't work how we’re being told, notably favouring the survivor in most scenarios.
With the pallet roll back, I do find it odd how almost every hit is refunded despite so many variables at play. Sure, I've gotten hits at pallets since that update, but even with all the variables, they're few and far between. That doesn't quite seem right. Logically there would still be a significant number of hits in the killers favour, if things we're working how we've been told. But this is not the case.
I could be wrong ofc but its strange to say the least.
-
Slinger was gutted and can now join Wraith in the “wee bit OP” category of B tier killers being nerfed for no rational reason.
Limited range. Slow TTK. Terrible map pressure. Countered by holding W, pre-dropping and body blocking. Can only deal 1 damage state per reload/has to reload after every shot. Successful shots can be countered by objects/structures/survivors in the environment. Feels clunky and awkward to play. So on so forth.
Very poorly conceived changes that break the killer’s fundamental design.
-
Definitely not. No DC penalty has a significant rot greater detriment to gameplay for the vast majority of people. Nobody likes getting at least 1 dc almost every match.
-
A bot mode would be great and is sort of an expected feature for these types of games, however we are talking about one of the only successful multiplayer games in existence that can get away with only the occasional tiny patch.
We need to hope for some decent competition in the genre to force BHVR to roll up their sleeves and to stop being complacent.
-
Wraith. He was always a pretty bad killer, then he finally got buffer to mid tier and nerfed swiftly thereafter in the recent patch.
According to some forum goers and the devs, he was “a wee bit OP.”
The sad thing is, the people who influenced his nerf are going to struggle just as much as they did before, whilst Wraiths and other survivors who knew how to play vs. him get screwed over, all for nothing.
Rather lame.

So if those t-shirts have had more of an impact... prove it. With citations. Let's see 'em.
"The t-shirts are bad! They are worse than NFTs!" "OK prove it." "NO! I SAID THEY'RE BAD SO THEY'RE BAD!" -That's you. That's how you sound. You tried to make an argument, we shredded through it. You have no point because anything you've brought up, we've had counter-arguments to, and ours included citations.
You have no point. You have no leg to stand on. You haven't had one yet. And no one here is convinced. You just sound stupid.
Get ahold of yourself.
I don't need to prove anything to support my points. We've been over this already.
“The sale of T Shirts on the merc store has had a significantly larger impact on the environment than any of BHVRs involvement with NFTs.”
This is a factual statement which requires no proof. The proof is in the pudding as they say.
You've “shredded” through nothing mate. No counter arguments. No relevant citations.
Honestly you’re just making yourself angry and repeating the same nonsense about somehow proving me wrong.
Think this is where we can agree to disagree yeah?

Dang dude, you typed a lot and got absolutely zero information across. That's honestly impressive, I doubt I could manage that. You must be experienced.
The fact that NFTs are a scam and people don't want their game to be associated with them seems quite significant to me. That's how I and many others feel about NFTs, I'm not invested in the environmental factors.
You're comfortable with using electricity but you degrade others for using it. Incredible.
You told no lies? Prove it. Simple request. Your "facts" will be taken with a grain of salt until you comply.

Telling people that they won't have a successful future simply because they disagree with you is so f*cked up on so many levels, but I don't expect someone like you to acknowledge it. It blows my mind that others here are worried about being removed from the platform when you're saying stuff like this to them. Disgusting.
It's interesting how different perspectives work. That's not at all what happened and I think you know it too.
In fact I've been perfectly polite in the face of most replies being automatically hostile.
The guy you're referring to had been making personal insults to me for a number of posts, which you interestingly don't take issue with.

I'm not even sure how to respond to this. It's irrelevant at best lol
You must really love that bull semen.
No, I react the way I do because I've dealt with people like you for 40+ years now. I HAD patience for stupidity when I was younger. I've lost almost all of it as I've gotten older. You all repeat the same ######### ad nauseam like you're saying or doing something profound that no one else has said before! Except no one gives a ######### about your irrelevant points.
The only person that gives two shits about your points, or calling us hypocritical, is you. And you can't claim hypocrisy when your points can be easily disproven (like how your t-shirt crusade falls apart as soon as it's held up to any standard. And it crumbles completely when viewed against a carbon neutral company).
And the funnier thing is, with some tweaking, you could have had a giant point! I mean giant! And you could have gotten people to ake you seriously! But you didn't think it through and ran with a terrible analogy that falls apart under scrutiny.
If you can't actually defend your position with facts, then you don't have a position worth listening to.
It's strange how you see yourself as a victim here.
Take a look at the contrast between my posts and yours. Look at not only the content but also the wording.
I've essentially been making the same two points the entire time. No insults. No anger.
You’ve haven't provided a counterargument in response, but have provided much anger and several wasted insults.
Yet I'm the bad guy and you’re a victim. Right? 😂
My advice still stands. You need to work on how you react when disagreements arise. It comes across as condescending but it is genuine advice. That attitude doesn't serve you well!
Nobody has been able to provide a counterargument.
T Shirts for example. The sale of T Shirts on the merc store has had, does have and will almost certainly continue to have a significantly larger impact on the environment than any of BHVRs involvement with NFTs.
Comparing blockchain etc to the clothing industry is irrelevant, as is bringing up “carbon neutral” clothing lines.
I've defended my position with facts.
There has been no scrutiny for anything to fall apart under.
