Survivors can voice chat , so survivors are in favor in this game .SWF is not skillful at all and doesn't represent the depth of DBD imo. Yeah its not realistic to let another Survivor know what's going on around them, they do not have communication devices.

What Ruin does is guarantee that at least one Survivor gets off a gen to start looking for it. During that course you bump into a Survivor running around looking for it. Unless of course they spawn right next to it and in that case you cant get to it in time because your on the other side of the map and in instances like that you need Hex: Thrill Of The Hunt to make it to them in time.
@Rudio1337 that's not true because there are people (Killers) that know how to pressure good with or without it but most importantly you cant apply so much pressure that its going to have that much of an effect in the game because 1 chase means that 3 other Survivors can be on gens.
Hex Ruin just like any other Hex Perk that's not Thrill Of The Hunt or Haunted Grounds is hit or miss, its a gamble because of how fast it can get destroyed. Like i've been saying its a good Perk but not top 5 imo which is why i say its a little overrated

My one big issue when it comes to discussions about Freddy is the tier people put him in. People putting Freddy in F or D tier is an EXTREME exaggeration. Thats basically saying (F tier) that he cannot 1K the majority of games which CLEARLY is not the case because i've seen top Survivors get 3k'ed 4ked by a so called "weak" or "bad" Killer. This logically does not make sense. Im not saying that Freddy cant get 0k's (all escape) at times but its certainly not common. When people bring F tier or D tier into they're ratings they're saying he cant even get more than 3 hooks per match and basically are sh*ting on player skill, potential and they're own game unwittinglyThat's not how a tier list works though. Tier list is a ranking of characters from best to worst. You break them into tiers where the difference in strength is noticeable between one tier and the next.
Putting a killer in F tier doesn't mean you can't 4k with them, or that it's super hard to 1k or anything. Rather it means that, compared to the rest of the killers, Freddy has the most weaknesses and fewest strengths. MEASURABLE ones too. The fact he needs to wait any amount of time before he can hit you is already a HUGE drawback no other killer needs to deal with. The closest you have to that is Wraith needing to uncloak before he hits you, but he only needs to do that once and he can hit anyone. Freddy still has to wait for each new target.
Freddy also doesn't have the tools to help in a chase. He is literally just an M1 killer at the end of the day. Wraith and LF at least have some options in a chase. Wraith can cloak and try to body block a window or pallet (since he is faster), plus he can more easily get the drop on you than Freddy can. LF has a one shot and a way to force pallet drops in some cases, as well as a tool to destroy pallets faster. He also has the strongest defense in the game, something Freddy completely lacks.
Don't look at a tier list like "this character will always win, this character will always lose". Look at it like "this character has more options and fewer drawbacks than that character". In other words, when played to their maximum potential the high tier character will be more effective than the low tier character simply because they are mechanically and statistically better.
Right, however im not judging tiers based on kills, wins, losses alone. I factor all of that stuff in. Strengths and weaknesses amongst each one respectively. I see what your saying about him having to pull you in the Dreamworld before he can get the hit but isnt Freddy at the highest level always gonna get the hit anyway? At least the majority of the time because of situations. Since you cant see Freddy that in my eyes means he isnt F tier or even D tier. Although you get his theme and or heartbeat when he's near you still have to guess where he's coming from.
Taking into account his defense i completely agree that his low defensive options hinder him. As a reference point again, people (top players) saying Freddy F tier or bad Killer and either play with him or against him then either lose to him or get 3 or 4K is a contradiction to they're statement. If Freddy sucked so bad you'd be able to loop and counterplay him at ALL times and again thats not the case because the game is (in a sense) balanced out so that ALL Killers can get hooks so technically, mechanically there is no F tier, thats just ludacus

its still kind of heart breaking to me how all survivors are pretty much the same and the fact that they still have a difficulty rating on them just makes me shake my head. so what i propose is what if each survivor had unique passives that only they individually could have. for example: meg could be slightly faster, nea could have street wise built in to her character, or claudette could just simply amplify healing of other survivors like dwights leader. i know these examples are kind of random but its just a start to explain the idea. thoughts? They have the difficulty ratings based on they're default perks. Claudette has Self Care and Empathy making her good solo and support which makes her easy to use whereas Jake has Sabetour and Calm Spirit which are situational perks and or harder to pull off and make good use for so i agree with they're difficulty ratings.

It is, gives you a lot of information to you and the others which honestly it's the only thing i personally need when playing solo.
If u get camped killer's aura will be shown to others within a 16 meters range instead of 8 thanks to open handed, and if someone is coming to rescue you the others will know they gotta keep doing gens. Open handed will increase the range of bond as well, which is nice since u can see survivors from far and guess what's going on around you.
4th perk slot is up to u, but since i got bond and healing got nerfed i rather not run SC and look for teammates to heal me instead.
Edit: btw, if someone else is running open handed killer's aura will be shown when standing within 24 meters from the hook, doesn't stack further than that. That's really good! Add We'll Make it to that and you just put together possibly the best support combination in the game

I understand Freddy being the weakest Killer in the game, fine...he needs to be reevaluated readjusted etc, np.

That's not a bad Killer. He's weaker than all the other Killers I agree but he's not "bad" Your top players say the same thing about Pig and I strongly disagree with that. Sh*t Killer, bad..I dont get nor agree with this notion.
How do you buff Freddy imo?
- Reduce the time (either slightly or considerably) needed to put you in the dreamworld
- Add a counter system to Survivors to get out of Dreamworld so no getting out with just one missed Self Care or Generator Skill Check. One missed Skill Check = 1 Counter so you need 2 or 3 to get out of DreamWorld
- Increase the time it takes for another Survivor to snap the other out of Dreamworld by (x seconds)
- Buff some of Freddy's Add-On's
There you go, now Freddy is causing Havock. He is moved from B+ to A+ with these suggested changes

@George_Soros said:
@Edilibs You summarized it quite correctly. Like others pointed out, it's better than ever (balancewise), even though it's still a tiny bit more survivor friendly. It has to be: the great challenge and conundrum the devs have to face is how to get almost four times as many people to play survivor as killer. They have limited options, so making survivors easier is one of the few ways to achieve this. (The other attraction is SWF, which is also necessary, regardless how much some killers hate this feature.)That said, if you have a calm personality and if you relish a challenge, killer can be a lot of fun. Some people can't take it. Some break. Some give up. Some fall into the bottomless pit of victimhood mentality and keep crying for the devs' help. But my prediction is, the devs cannot risk going further, lest they risk the ire of survivors. And they shouldn't: not everyone is prepared emotionally for the stress of playing killer. It's natural selection, in a way.
So in my experience I HAVE gotten frustrated but I also welcome good challenges and I know all the annoying and frustrating things Survivors do will get me better at the game overall. I really like to see and understand peoples opinions which is why im here in the first place. The dev's got the right marketing idea like you said because you need to appease more to the Survivor players than the Killers and as a Killer main when you 3 or 4K its a rewarding type of feeling because of what you have to go through.
I used to have difficulty against Survivors that 360 and THAT used to frustrate me because I didnt know how to stop it, now I do. One thing i learned in DBD is that "whiffing" is not good! Just one whiff end game and a Survivor can escape. Precision and timing is that vital. One whiff on a Survivor can lead into a minute or two loop chase and or 1-2 gens getting done so you really dont want to whiff in this game. Its true though that you can have Unrelenting and the consequences wont be as bad depending on the situation.

I updated my tier list and im really curious to how you guys feel or think about it. I basically moved Huntress up from A+ to S. I moved Hag down to A+ and I moved The Pig down as well to A with Wraith while moving Leatherface up

There are people that say that The Soul at Stake Survivors are broken and that much better than they're Killers just because they run faster than them but i disagree. I haven't played Soul At Stake but i've seen some high level games. The Gamblers can definetley be caught consistently

And they made some bad gameplay designs.Example:

There are some survivors that are powering through Ruin yes. Some hit the great skill checks while others dont hit GSC but still stay on them. Besides that, Stake Out is a good Semi Counter to Ruin as well and if the Survivor can get 4 stacks its great against Ruin.
I say its overrated because there are dual perks that work better than Ruin but Killer mains have to sacrifice a perk they staple or normally run to make it efficient. Its not heavily overrated but overrated nonetheless imo. If they can replace some of the spawn locations (right next to gens) that would be great. I said that there are about 4-5 spawn locations but there are actually 6-9 which is fine

Lmao that's sick man! Honestly that takes the cake, I've never heard of something like that before. Wow that's bad..
-
I think Blood Warden should be buffed. Instead of 60 seconds its should be 90. I think its the most satisfying Perk to use, if you can utilize it. Especially since "most" Survivors like to Teabag at the Exit Gates.
To counter Blood Warden i noticed that Survivors power the gate until the very tip (usually when someone is being chased) and wait until they are hooked before they power it open. This strategy is actually a semicounter to Blood Warden. I say semi counter because obviously the Killer can down someone again and have it take effect then but its a really cool perk -
This game is revolved around Killer so the hatch thing is not bad imo. Three Survivors get killed, one escapes to tell the story, that's the premise at least that's what i believe the premise is. Did the developers actually say they want to change the hatch to something else? If so then they're saying that they want more 4K's so that Killer mains will stop bi**hing.
Also awhile ago I was able to stop this with Myers although it happened one time. I stood on the hatch before the Survivor did then I tier 3'ed him. I was able to get the down and the pick up. That may have been luck though, i haven't had the opportunity come up to try that again and confirm it as a guaranteed thing.
-
There is a scenario of course where the Killer doesn't care if they land Decisive and find a spot where they have a easier time to catch again. Standing on the edge of lets say the basement stairs and letting them fall down (which is a great strategy btw if the opportunity presents itself)
Also I dont get why more Survivors that run DS don't just run Unbreakable as well for the reasons mentioned above. I dont main Survivor at all but im pretty ok getting at rank 1 and although i personally don't like Decisive because I main Killer if i did run it on my Survivor I would pair it with Unbreakable and Tenacity
-
@MegMain98 said:
Guys...Decisive will never be removed no matter how much you complain for one simple reason. It directly ties into the “Adept Laurie” achievement. Yes it is broken but it won’t be removed for that reason plain and simple unless they gave Laurie a new teachable which I HIGHLY doubt they’ll do.DS and NOED both should be removed entirely but it’ll never happen.
Why should they be removed? You know what it is by now, the Killer see's that the Obsession is the Decisive person. Killer juggles survivor to hook. If the Killer see's that the hook is to far away for them to juggle, then they leave them on the ground.
I don't see anything really broken about that honestly. At rank 1 and or the highest meta Survivors that run DS are most likely to bleed out or get slugged in general so Nurses Calling is really good for DS players.

Pig and Doctor should be switched because the Pig's ability is situational and can easily be remove while Doctor's stays permanently and he can stop vaults.Myers should be under Doctor because of how easy it is to starve him of evil and he can still be looped while in EW3.
I would place Spirit somewhere in A+ tier (probably around Huntress’s spot) only because of the noise she makes while phase walking. With the Prayer Beads Bracelet add-on, I would put her in S tier and above Hag. I think that Hag and Huntress will have an easier time getting downs than a Prayer Beads-less Spirit due to their sudden appearance (Hag) and ranged attack (Huntress).
My tier list would look like this:
SS: Nurse, Hillbilly
S: Hag
A+: Spirit/Huntress, Clown, Doctor, Myers
A: Pig, Wraith
B+ Trapper, Leatherface
B: FreddyBased off your tier list im gonna comment about Spirit and Myers. The Spirit is BETTER than Myers, you may or may not agree but what i agree with you on is that they are close. I do not think Myers is S tier but i've seen tier list with them putting them there. Nurse, Hillbilly, Spirit, Hag they are consistent and what they do they do very well like the Hag completely demolishing survivors momentum and so on. I feel that Shape can have a really good game but has difficulty on a number of maps whereas the other killers i mentioned do better than he does significantly. I main Hag, and have Shape, Pig and Doctor as alternates and I can get a bad killer map with Shape and struggle but wont struggle as much with the other killers. I understand this is my own personal experience here in this manner but i watch other games too. All in all i say that we also both agree that all Killers are good!
-
The reason Claudette is in her own tier is because she is THAT much better at stealthing than the rest.
I've lost her a good number of times and i watched games on survivor side where the Claudettes hide in a place where the killer runs right past them. Don't let me get started on Yokahoma Family Residence. Her default costume (also the bloody brown one are too good)One game I had hooks in the basement and was slugging, at the stairs I said in my head "Why cant i pick up The Meg? Whats going on? I then immediately walked up the stairs a little (where theres more light) and saw her reviving her! lol I've saw a stream once where the killer admitted that if she didnt have the blue glasses on in the Haddonfield map as she was hiding he wouldn't have saw her. Botany, Self Care, she is SS tier then its everyone else.
To the person saying that Feng Ming should be S with Meg and Nea I actually understand why you would say that, i really do. Her abilities are up there with them plus her default outfit is great for ninja (the term people use?) and stealthing on a good number of maps.
To the person that says that Dwight is mid tier, he cannot be mid tier because of Bond and Leader. Based of your ratings he should be high mid (A, or B+) He is top tier from my rating/ranking perspective because Bill only really has borrowed time and as i mentioned although his two perks may not be as good, he still has two good ones and William only has one

First and foremost on the subject of tiers people/players should not refrain from changing they're tier lists. As games develop further and adjustments and balance changes take place tiers change but also "players" should be open to the idea that changing they're tier list chart or rating is not something to be looked down at all.
"What may be true today may not be true tomorrow" and with that said this is my "Killer" Tier List (Rank 1)SS: Nurse, Hillbilly
S: The Spirit, Hag
A+ The Shape, Huntress, Clown, Pig
A: Doctor, Wraith
B+ Trapper, Cannibal
B: FreddyI base this off of the technical aspects (they're ability map presence etc) but also base it off of a 10 game set. The more survivors a killer can down within ten games ( full games with 40 survivors in total) the better they are to the rest.
Every killer has to the potential to kill at least one survivor although all survivors escaping at times is not uncommon. This is what i feel the tier list is right and i'll explain why another time but what are killer mains tiers currently?Thats my tier list:
S+: Nurse
S: Hillbilly
A Myers, The Spirit, Hag
B: Doctor, Wraith, Clown, Huntress
C Trapper, Cannibal, Pig
LUL: FreddyHard to rate spirit because noone plays her anymore. I think the new changes made her a lot better and put her above clown/huntress, but hard to tell without actually playing vs her in the game, but no way that she competes on the same lvl of billy/nurse as so many others claim.
I watch alot of Spirit games, she is S tier. The problem i have with your list is a C tier. There are no C tiers or lower because every killer has the potential to kill at least 1-2 survivors consistently and if they can do that they are good (B tier) How is Freddy D or F tier when you cant even see the guy and only get an indicator of him being close with heartbreat lol
Remember Freddy can have Ruin, Make Your Choice, Sloppy Butcher, Hex No One Escapes Death etc so he is not lower than B

She definitely is not B+. Slows the game down with RBT, RBT (Reverse Bear Traps) can cause status effects. Her stealth game is one of the best (crouching) next to Wraith and Tier 1 Myers. You cannot escape through the Exit gates with RBT. She can predict which device you will go to and stop you from unlocking RBT and because of the panic it causes in survivors Amanda can slug and sloppy butcher slows down survivor progression even more. Cheap!!!I think the reasoning is a little off for Pig. Pig has amazing mind game potential because of her ambush at pallets and loops. Her strongest asset is her ambush.
I disagree, her strongest asset is her Traps! You cant use crouch to stop pallet looping at all, its actually a weak strategy imo because strong survivors wont fall for that
-
Yea, Hillybilly is! Nurse gets stealthed and juked more than Hillbilly. Its easier to loose a Nurse than its is The Hillbilly
-
@Crizpen said:
I have a few criticisms of the list. First is the sample size you cite: 10 games each for having 40 survivors. That's a very limited sample size, which doesn't necessarily make the list right or wrong, but it is a very small sample. It also doesn't mention if they were random survivors or SWF, which would make a huge difference. For example, if you had 5 groups with SWF against Cannibal, but only 1 game with SWF against the Pig, that would drastically change the results.Second, you don't describe the tools each killer used. Some killers are very dependent on their add-on's and offerings, where as others are less so. A Nurse without add-ons will do significantly better than The Spirit without them. Again, that doesn't mean your list is right or wrong, but it is important in describing your methods and assessing the accuracy of your list. For example, did you use a Trapper Bag for each game with the Trapper? Did you use Bloody Coils? That will make a big difference compared with not running any add-on's and judging a killer's potential.
On the basis of potential, based on my experience, I would disagree with a few relatively minor placements.
First, Doctor. The Doctor changes how survivors must play the match, but that alone doesn't make him a A-tier killer. He has decent movement speed, when he is in Punishment mode, but his power limits his movement speed. Each time he charges, he slows down, and in a chase he may be able to temporarily prevent a pallet being dropped, at the expense of his movement, and then being forced to waste more time changing back to Punishment mode before he can land a hit. Outside of that, his power forces survivors to take themselves out of Tier 3 Madness before they can interact with generators or heal, which can be very useful, but not overly taxing.
Second, and comparatively, The Trapper can eliminate loops entirely with his traps, and can send Survivors who step into them into dying status. He suffers from an opening time penalty of having to set up his traps to prep for chases, but can otherwise do very well to end chases with the proper prep and herding.
For those reasons, I would personally swap the positions of Trapper and the Doctor on your list.
Next up, The Hag. The Hag is fantastic at defense, and can be effective in ending loops with the placement of her traps. That said, she also moves slower than the standard killer, making her prep phase longer, and her ability to catch survivors lower. Furthermore, her traps can be entirely bypassed by crouching or with a flashlight. Which, compared to the Trapper, is a big disadvantage in her trapping. At the least, no one can move over the Trapper's traps without him getting the disarm notification and at best, injuring a healthy survivor for the disarm, where as survivors can crouch over the Hag's. Her strength is in surprising trap locations, and circumventing loops.
Furthermore, if the Hag is otherwise occupied in a chase, or carrying a survivor, setting off her traps poses no risk to the survivors. For these reasons I would lower her placement on the list.
Lastly, the Shape. If we're discussing the potential of killers, with the ideal addon's and offerings available, the Shape is an absolute menace to any survivor group. Supposing he utilizes permanent or tremendously extended Tier 3, his movement speed, ability to vault quickly through windows, and achieve 1-hit downs makes him extremely difficult to evade for long, or force into an extended 2-hit chase.
On the other side of the coin, utilizing a Scratched Mirror in Lery's enables him to earn free hit after free hit, if not generator / totem pull-offs with devastating ease.
If we aren't talking about potential ability, and simply based on their base power, I would rank him above the Hag for the reasons of her weaknesses. Myers suffers from slower initial movement speed, offset by his tiny terror radius, and in nearly every case, is able to stalk out of tier 1 relatively faster than the Hag can establish her set-up. What's more, survivors can only escape feeding his stalking by evading his line of sight, if possible. Which means his set-up phase, at worst, involves survivors running rather than working on generators.
The Wraith is a difficult one to place currently. Not only is his potential highly dependent on the add-ons and perks he uses, but also on the map he lands in. For example, maps with several generators out in the open make it far more difficult for him to get a surprise hit around a wall or through a doorway. However, if the Wraith is running a double-whirlwind build, stealth is less essential than speed and body-blocking survivors getting to a pallet during the de-cloaking.
So, I would say the Wraith has the potential to be very, very strong, but must rely on both add-ons and map offerings (and the survivors not throwing competing map offerings in) to utilize him to his highest potential. If he doesn't have a map/add-on combo to use, or if the survivors force him onto a map that doesn't work with the build, it can destroy the Wraith's potential. For those reasons, I would place him higher on the list for potential, but lower than most because of the risk of being thrown off by lack of or competing offerings.
With all of that said, I would place the killers as such:
SS: Nurse, Hillbilly
S: Shape / Spirit / Huntress (These are not in any particular order. In my experience, they're all highly effective with luck being the greatest determination of who is best used in any given game compared with the other. For example, if the Huntress happens to get a Lery's map, the Shape would have had the advantage. If it happens to be Coldwind, The Spirit or Huntress would have an advantage over the Shape. Etc...)
A+: Hag, Clown, Pig
A: Wraith, Trapper
B+: Doctor, Cannibal
B: FreddyPlease don't think of these comments as poo-poo'ing your list. It may very well be that among the entire player-base, your list is more accurate than mine, and it may be that I'm not as skilled with a particular killer as someone else, which lands them lower on my list than it would on someone else's. That said, I feel it's fairly accurate based on firm reasoning.
No not at all! I appreciate your feedback and response. You mentioned some points about analyzation and Im going to tell you how i come to my conclusions. First and foremost I don't base my tiers, charts etc based off of personal experience alone. Getting multiple opinions is good but I study and analyze killer (and survivor) games whether in the game itself or researching online through videos. When i mentioned the 10 game thing i use it merely as a base point to a topic. In terms of add-ons, they are put into the equation which is why i mentioned the Sloppy Butcher, slug scenario with The Pig. I factor in the most optimal add-ons and base skill as if everyone were on the same skill level. In turn i use Rank 1's although there are obviously skill gaps, various mind games, mentalities, intelligence etc and so called play styles. Maps also have to be put into the equation because some killers are stronger than others on certain maps. Taking what you said about a Nurse without Add-Ons doing better than a Spirit with them, if they are both very optimal and that works then fine. The same goes for every killer. I'm basing my overall conclusions based off whatever is the most optimal period! We're all individuals who think in different ways so Add-ons will vary much like Perks or be the same. I run Nurse's Calling on my Hag which i rarely see other Hag mains have on her and they usually run Make Your Choice or Whispers etc. Doesn't mean either set is particularly better than the other, they may be but the point is that they're both good.
I see your points about The Trapper but "one" reason i put Doctor slightly better than him is because The Doctor is better on more maps than The Trapper imo. I think they are both equally strong in chases because although Doctor can Shock Therapy around pallets, The Trapper can set a trap to a place survivors commonly run to in a chase (Killer Shack, certain loops etc) Im pretty sure you can bring up more good points about Trapper just as i can with Doctor we just disagree with his tier placing although not to far apart.
I think Spirit is better than Shape for some of the same reasons as Trapper, Doctor comparison above. I think she's better at more maps than he is. Haddonfield for instance is universally agreed upon for the most part by killer and survivor sides that it is one of the most difficult maps for killers giving survivors a big advantage but Spirit handles them a little better there because Myers has a difficult time getting Stalk power on that map and her ability is better on that particular map, that and Corn field.
If you have Shape, Huntress, Spirit on your S tier I don't see why you wouldn't put The Hag because she is a S tier killer for sure. She handles loops and pallets better than Brutal Strength Myers and other things i cant get into right now due to some limited time. Our tier lists are similar with some minor differences and discrepancies that haven't been brought up but thanks for sharing that. Im telling you though that Hag is very scary and cheap & should be considered S tier on your list!! lol
Another factor is the Survivors and what they run of course so although its room for another topic. 4 survivors (I say Claudettes or at least 3 Claudettes) with Purple Flashlights, Decisive, Dead Hard and two top tier perks gives the A tier killers problems which prevents them from being on tier with Nurse and Hillbilly

Cheap!!!
