  • I think the question is more: is the 115% of executioner justified.

Lets see how it's going to be over the time.

  • Just because survivors can't work on these gens doesn't mean they aren't around them. Some people (me including) do totems and chests till the perk runs out. No need to go into 1/3 of the map with the killer.

  • As long as their is an option for the player to chose I don't see any negatives about Crossplay but only positive points.

It's a bug fix. It's how he was intended to be played, and how he was on release (as those add-ons to my knowledge haven't been touched since.)

It's really not that bad haha, I think otz may have discovered this without knowing it was a bug when he was developing his killer add-on tier video, but it never did feel right to me. Glad to hear it's a bug.

Just because it's a bug doesn't mean it's better fix it. Sometimes bugs make a game better / more balanced. This here was agreed example: myers is probably one of the best designed killers and his addons were balanced. Now he received a nerf for now reason which makes him a less better pick on high ranks against sweaty survivors.

  • It's a slugging counter perk and very situational. Relax ffs.

  • I don't need another clown or Trapper. I'm fine with Pyramide head

  • How is the performance impact going to be? Does it mean everyone with a low end pc has to upgrade his pc to even run this game? And those with a mid end pc will struggle even more now?

Also, are these graphic updates finally introducing proper and rich settings?

I think the new lightning effects are going to make dbd unplayable for people who are currently playing on a low end pc with barely hitting 30 fps.

  • We need a countdown in the forum

Yeah it's frustrating that mobile gets exclusives at all tbh. Seems like a way to get pre existing console/PC players to start spending money on mobile, too.

Also, I'm not a fan of how dismissive the devs and mods can be when people bring their dissatisfaction about this up.

The mobile game is a vastly inferior way to play DBD so the fact that they get some improved features is pretty insulting.

    Let's see, so far...

    - Exclusive skins

    - Bonus XP offerings

    - AI for DCing players

    - A reworked lobby screen that shows you all of your survivor teammates' items, add ons and perks

    - A character set up screen that lets you equip your perks in fixed slots rather than appearing randomly in the trial

    - All survivors share items, add ons, and offerings

    - Advanced graphics settings like quality of graphics and whether you want 30 FPS or 60 FPS (idk if this is possible on PC but it's obviously not on console)

    - More detailed loading screen tips that do things like DISCOURAGE face camping

    - A much, much better daily AND weekly ritual system (yes, we get the archive but this is free for all and daily/weekly, not every 2-3 weeks)

    Sad :(

Add the "deaf support" with the heartbeat icon on survivors

  • Thankfully I can lobby dodge killers aswell.

Hopefully they'll say smth about it on their upcoming anniversary stream.

I mean, whats the deal of them saying something at this point? They already told us to do optimisation but we haven't seen much yet. In fact, the performance gets worse and worse. Besides the stupid decision of bhvr to remove ini modifications to make the game more playable with better perfomance.

Bhvr is just playing with us. With our optimism thinking things will change. But they just buy themselves time with these statements so we continue buying DLCs and cosmetics. And once the community is sick of it and stops supporting... They just drop dbd and work on a new project.

  • Issue since a solid year for other people. I think console had this issue since release?

Bhvr doesn't care. We are still waiting for the promised optimisation of 2018.

  • @Peanits said:

Not exactly sure what you mean. The stuff we're looking to test in the PTB is always free. Freddy was free in the PTB when he was reworked, all of the Stranger Things characters were free as well, and everyone was given 2,000 Auric Cells on the PTB to test out the Rift.

If you mean why isn't everything free, it's because the PTB is for testing purposes. Say we're testing the Freddy rework. We wouldn't want people to go in and give The Clown or The Plague a try just because they're free. That would be counterproductive when we need feedback for Freddy. We need to keep the tests as focused as possible.

Someone who wanted to test Freddy would have done it anyway and someone who just wanted to test out clown wouldn't even install the PTB. It's still better having a PTB tester playing clown than not because he might find new bugs.

  • It's 100% not bannable. And IF (for whatever reason) EAC ever decides that this isn't allowed anymore then your game would simply not start till it recovered the original png files. It's not going to ban people out of the blue.

  • Most likely very basic and cheap stuff. They still want to sell cosmetics so it ain't be special like legacy back then

  • Rework your skin, it's to thin. Make it thicker.

  • Encourages AFKing. And lobby idling counts aswell so at the end people will just keep their pc running all day long. What's the point?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/154531/idea-for-a-totem-counter-of-sorts

It's not a bad idea, but why not just run Detectives Hunch? Every gen that's done gives you 10 seconds of totem spots for free. Plus this would completely kill any totem build in existence and IMO would break the immersion of the game. The survivors are suppose too be weaker then the killer with little info about who/what people are doing, if there's a giant sign in the shack that says "Hey, there's X bones left." it wouldn't feel like I don't know whats going on.

This "supposed to be" is so heavily overused in this forum.

I don't think it would take too much time to run to a predetermined spot to make sure the team got them all. It would definitely be more time than a counter in the hud and I think that's a good thing.

Where do you I run in a map like haddonfield or the game where killer shack doesn't exist?

  • @CosmicParagon said:

Keep in mind that the vast majority of survivor addons are considerably better than killer addons. Also, WGLF is far easier to get tokens in, protection hits were buffed to be like 10 meters away

What? Majority of survivor addons is garbage. I legit use only a handful of addons total. Most is not significant or makes your item even worse looking at you flashlight addons).

  • @Booper_Of_Snoot said:

Add ons should be lost after dying or escaping, just like killer add ons are lost.

Its more costly as survivor, but you accept that when you play survivor.

    The system is fine.

Killer role =/= survivor role. In case you haven't noticed yet.

  • I have currently more purple flashlights than brown batteries. And batteries are actually the only addons worth. So yeah it was a stupid decision. But as always bhvr will NEVER admit it was a mistake and they will never change it back no matter how obvious it is.

  • This forum is so dead honestly

If you compare it to DotA or league which both ban you for leaving public unranked games but not private ones its the same thing DbD just doesn't have an unranked mode, but it does have private matches that you can come and go as you please in.

DotA and league is not even remotely comparable with dbd tho, they are waaaay more competetive than dbd

  • I don't even understand what the purpose of these 5 seconds is. Like, you think this is gonna stop me dodging lobbys?

  • @Bovinity said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1293798#Comment_1293798

    You'd be surprised.

I really believe that my gameplay as killer improved dramatically once I got my settings such that scratches stood out more, blendettes were visible in bushes, blood was actually visible to me, and so on.

Same with sounds, I put some time into equalizing stuff and now I can actually hear if someone is running nearby.

A LOT of the killer balance seems to revolve around screwing with your senses, anything you can do to mitigate that is huge.

To me that sounds like how the game should be in the first place... Oh Wait, dbd isn't.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1292704#Comment_1292704

Correct. Kill your friends is the casual mode and everything else is ranked, thus BHVR should be banning people for it.

    Kyf isn't public but private.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1292440#Comment_1292440

That is untrue for DotA and LoL, which both ban you if you do it in unranked games.

For CS:GO and overwatch you can come and go as you please for those matches yes, but you often join a game in progress. I'd argue DBD doesn't have an unranked mode in our current world because... well... it doesn't. Every match is "ranked"

Apex legends for example has punishments for leaving in ranked but no punishement for leaving in public lobbys at all. And it's a heavily team based game. Ngl I really like that approach, public should be casual and ranked should be serious

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1291296#Comment_1291296

You can fix it. Every other multiplayer game worth anything punishes and bans people for leaving the game or intentionally "feeding"

Only for ranked mode, public lobby's is usually with no punishment. But DBD has no choice in game mode nor is it really a competitive game

  • @DelsKibara said:

I think they meant "Civilization V".

Then you need to practice your running.😀 Some people manage to run forward facing backwards, you know.

    What are you talking? Lmao

  • @MrCookie said:

Never run straight. If he reloads try to get to another pallet. Drop pallets early if you are injured. Crouch at loops just like you would against huntress, though you have to guess when (usually it's when you are running past the lowest point of the loop like on Autohaven). If there's some distance between you just run forward, never wait at the loop. He is a slow killer and running forward forcing him to catch up with you can eat A LOT of time. Corn maps are you friends, just don't run straight. He can be countered but if you don't play him it is hard especially not many killers play him and it's difficult to get used to him.

"never rund straight" well then you make a 110% movement killer look like 115% on bloodlust 3 with noed lol

  • 50/50 mindgames? Lmao good one. The "mindgame" aspect is totally in the favour of spirit. And let's not forget how EARS allow you to down every survivor when injured very easy.

  • Have ears. Use stridor to counter the only counterplay perk iron will. It's really that simple. With a little time you will easily win "mindgames" or lets say little tricks survivors can do to manipulate you.

Once their are injured it's an easy down to follow up

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1291068#Comment_1291068

That's not a legit reason. If your team is hook farming you, report them, that is a different behavior, or DC and take the penalty. You shouldn't get a "free" dc whenever you want.

Why shouldn't we get a free dc? Every game gives you free DCs, why should dbd be different?

  • @Xzan said:

Nope there are totally legit reasons. If my team is hook farming me or I get chased for 3 minutes and 0 gens are done, I will straight nope out of the game.

Same here. I know, salty suicides exist. But rage quitters exist in every game and you can't fix that. But when bullshit happens like me running the killer for minutes around the whole match while I see the gens barely touched I'm yeeting out once caught. Enjoy the match lol

I mean put yourself in their shoes, the devs are doing their best coming up with maps, reworks, forums etc.

As a company employee here I will tell you something that may sound rude but it is true, money talks more than people, they need resources to make things better, and there are AAA game titles that are even worse so cut the dbd devs some slack, example of a worse game, just look at cod adv warfare, game is filled with bugs, glitches, game breaking bugs, poorly optimized patches that are over 20gb each monthly.

Some people can't be patient, just let the devs do their job in a steady pace, if you were hired by the company that I work, you would be fired for trying to rush people.

The dbd devs are a small group of people, every patch they fix stuff not just bring a cosmetic and they are done.

Geez, gamers just let them breathe

Also how the hell do you think bhvr is a small group? According to my researching bhvr interactive has nearly 500 employees. Obviously not all of them are working for dead by Daylight but majority is since that's currently their main business.

Oh and btw lets don't forget how they generated so much money out of dbd that they kept deathgarden alive for multiple times while it was basically dead and had no revenue.

I think you don't really know.

And i doubt this forum is either. Rather a depository of passionate words to sift through for the rare practical idea to consider, as I see it.

    Devs: keep doing you

Gamers: pipe down and be patient

Be patient for another 4 years or for how long do you except a playerbase to wait for fundamentals AFTER THEY SUPPORTED the devs with the main game, DLCs, cosmetics, rift passes and streaming the game?

  • @MegaWaffle said:

Before the posts start flooding in about "They are two different teams" let me toss a few scraps of thought into the mix.

1: How much time/resources are actually being given to the bug team vs the money making cosmetic team.

2: How much training (upgrade) are being given to their staff in the coding/balance/whatever team.

3: If the code really is "spaghetti" as the game was not the creation by a "AAA" team (I'm simply speaking in terms of highly experienced/vet developers) and specific changes may not be possible at all/to the extent the Devs/community would like then why not be transparent.

4: Perhaps WE are in the wrong and eventually the release of Megs third designer sports sneaker cosmetic will actually cause a chain reaction (like a reverse bug infested patch) that will solve all of DBDs current problems!

While some of the recent patches have had a much larger aim for fixes (be it something you agree upon or not in terms of balance) they are the same when it comes to the slew of bugs they bring about/re-introduce. Its obvious things are not being tested to the extent they require. While I get the PTB community is less than helpful at times I feel these patches should be withheld longer for the sake of quality.

As for the release of constant cosmetics, it just leaves a poor taste in your mouth when you see these things crammed into the store every single day yet age old bugs remain for days, weeks, months... The optics of the situation look horrible from a consumer perspective.

PS: I do not work in the gaming industry at all, nor do I posses the skills required to make educated remarks on specific details pertaining to game development. I'm simply a person voicing their thoughts on the matter and as such I may be correct or wrong in many aspects.

I have also taken into consideration that perhaps my daily does of "Git Gud" pills may not be high enough for me to ignore issues I find "game breaking" and as a result I have dedicated more of my time to studying the art of "SWF" and "Killer Main Big Brain". Please give me time.

One of the best posts I read in a very long time (not sarcasm, I'm serious)

It doesn't seem too bad to me, with the exception of empty levels. Then again, it was the empty levels that made me pay for the battle pass, so I guess its working for them.

It doesn't seem bad until you see how other battlepasses are much better.

Again I have to pull out apex legends: tons of challenges, you can do them simulationsly without "activating" them one by one. And leeeesss grindy. Last season I played for the last 20 days and finished the pass completely.

Meanwhile in dbd I have to play my freaking butt off every day and just barely finish the pass. For what? For recolours. 3rd pass in a row. Dgeeg I guess

Can I put apex legends here? Free game. Got released and hit like a bomb in the br market. Still for free. Only charges money for cosmetics. Yet, the game is in a so much better state from the get go.

At the same time: dbd charges money for the game. Then for every DLC. Cosmetics. And Now rift pass. 4 year in development. Still the same mess and looks like a beta release at best. I mean honestly, that's NOT "the best they can do". There is a lot of potential wasted.

    Oh really?

Well, @Peanits can we have some insights? What's happening rn?

Survivors get a sound warning whenever they’re in the crosshairs of Deathslinger. Quickscoping is the only way to avoid this and is more effective then aiming down most of the time which is why it’s used a lot.

Has nothing to do with my question but ok lol

  • @MadLordJack said:

You absolutely don't need a crosshair to be good with deathslinger, it just helps people that don't play a lot of FPS's/don't have a thousand hours on Huntress and don't have that instinctive knowledge of the exact centre of their screen.

Although it would be nice if his ADS sensitivity was higher so that quickscoping wasnt the only way to hit a shot against average survivors.

Crosshair is an advantage for everyone. Guess why csgo pros use crosshairs and don't disable it.

  • @bilaueta said:

I mean, huntress players also have been using crosshairs for a long time as well. Its not like they can redesign a whole power because they put a pice of tape on their screen

Plus, quickscopes are not that terribly hard on deathslinger, Im pretty bad at aiming with him and I still manage to hit many quickscopes with him and barely miss others by a few milimetres.

Maybe they are really good at aiming?

But Huntress has a windup time which compensates using crosshairs. Btw I think a crosshair should be in the game for Huntress anyway

  • @Xzan said:

99 Gates. I don't like it from both sides.

This isn't the first pvp game that puts you up against a higher more experienced opponents.

I just started playing RE Resistance and I was getting slaughtered in the beginning because as a rank 10 I was going against rank 35's. Did I give up? No. I learned to get better... looked at videos, did my research of how to play the game. It was the same way when I started playing F13.

Matchmaking is bad (And the devs are aware and are going to work on it), but at some point you're just making excuses to not get better.

Same with apex legends. Just after a few games with other new players I was put into high experienced lobbys and got absolutly destroyed. Had to gid gud and now I can hold myself. But I wasn't crying about it. I swear the dbd community so extremely childish and entitled
