if we were already on ue4 the resources for each map would look way better. for example, take a look at unreal tournament gameplay. ue3 is used by most developers like BHVR
According to Wikipedia it's already running on ue4.
I'm personally not very excited about another engine update. It usually was bringing more bad than good in my personal case
Dead by Daylight is an asymmetric survival horror video game developed by Behaviour Interactive.[1]Dead by Daylight was released for Microsoft Windows in June 2016,[2][3] released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in June 2017,[4][5][6] released on Nintendo Switch on September 24, 2019, and a mobile port was released on iOS and Android on April 17, 2020. -
Not directly, the devs had obviously no clue how powerful optimal looping is back then. But it's established now, devs are aware of this mechanic and are TRYING to balance around it (for example reworking maps).

Her terror radius is the same as other 110% killers though, the lullaby is a separate thing. Probably because she can down people from so far away.
Then maybe that's what deathslinger needs aswell, a separate lullaby

It’s because he’s a 110% movement speed killer and they all have the same 24 metre terror radius.
The devs like the terror radius and the killer’s move speed to be linked. Many months back Pig used to be an anomaly and have a 28 metre terror radius, but they changed it to the standard 32 metres to keep her aligned with all other 115% killers.
Uhm, Huntress has a lullaby and is 110 range killer. That's how it should be balanced around.
-
I personally don't understand why they made the TR of Deathslinger small. Especially with his custom TR music it fades in so slow and quite that I can barely notice it.
And once I hear the TR he is already so close to me that he can quick scope me without leaving me any reaction time. Add in maps like Lery's or simply tiles where you work on gens and blocking your whole view on the map and you can't even scout him from distance.
Imo deathslinger is one of the worst designed killers in the game atm. He is not overpowered but just bad designed.
-
She's ugly with a big nose and blends in nearly every map.

you realize if they're updating the graphics they're probably switching to UE4 right? meaning your performance will be a lot better because UE4 is more optimized for all platforms.
We are already on ue4 or not? And every engine update dipped my fps more down on pc. Despite all the bugs like sound etc

I can argue the opposite. It's not the killers fault, it's the survivors who unhooked. If the killer is close enough to even catch you straight off the hook, than the blame should be placed on the survivor who did the rescuing, especially without BT. They basically farmed you for points. Can you really blame the killer if you're pulled off hook in their face, and the rescuer doesn't at least take a protection hit, instead sprinting to the nearest pallet?
Now, I'm not saying hardcore tunneling doesn't exist, and is a pretty unfair playstyle around it. I understand in a lot of cases killers will tunnel, simply for the sake of doing it. But on the other hand, I feel at least part of the blame comes down to survivors not knowing when or how to safely rescue somebody.
So, what's about killers like hag, demo or Freddy who can teleport across the map? Still survivors fault when they instantly come back to tunnel? Maybe the survivors should wait till the killer is out of the Map so they can unhook safely without getting tunneling omegalul

@DelsKibara said:
You cannot balance something because you personally find it "Boring"
That would be unfair to people who find playng as and against him fun, like me, I have loads of fun whenever I play against Freddy.
If something is Broken or OP then yes, he should be nerfed accordingly. But he isn't. He is just "Boring" to you.
Can you explain what is fun about versing him? You like just mindless dropping pallets instant? Or that you got "outplayed" by fake pallets? U lik the slowdown forcing you to hold M1 longer or forcing you to wake up? Or do you enjoy the most when you can't finish a gen and he teleports to yours across the map to pop your 95% finished gen with pop goes the weasel?
Explain, I'm seriously curious why this kilker is fun to you.
-
Self care is a wasted perk slot.
Just alone versing Plague, legion or a skillful makes this perk wasted. Let alone perks like sloppy etc.
It's better to use bond and let yourself get healed. Or you know, a medkit
-
Enjoy the penalty, clearly your fault. U deserve it, next time don't DC.

I’ve been around since early 2017, on and off. People have taken almost every single thing to mean the game was dying. Seeing as the fourth anniversary stream said they hit their biggest numbers ever this last year, I somehow doubt it’ll crash and burn now, especially with that graphical update on the way.
The thing is, the higher the numbers the harder the crash. We have seen that from br games when they were the most popular games and out of the sudden it took just another similiar game doing a better job and they nearly died out.
This could happen to dbd at anytime, we simply don't know what is about to get released around a corner to compete against bhvr. What I find worrying is how easy bhvr is taking it. Like, it feels to me as if they don't even consider competitors
-
Just, just believe in bhvr! Like we did all the time previously! I mean, they obviously proved to us that they know how to do proper ranking and matchmaking, right?
Fr, hidden MMR is 100% just a cover-up for a flawed system. And whenever the community complains about broken matchmaking the devs will put out this card: "well, WE have the number and it's working as supposed. YOU don't have the number so better trust us or stay mad"
-
Not for, I generally don't like setup killers and I'm not the biggest fan of Trapper either. But I rather take Trapper over hag (Trapper is p3) because at least he fast boi and very interactive in chases without using traps
-
@Seanzu said:
But their aim is to P3 + All Perks, most people aren't P3ing a character to never touch it again.
I might be the exception but I try to p3 everyone (at least killers) even tho I don't touch them often. The only killer I will never waste more points I'm is my prestige 0 level 40 hag lol

DbD relies on people not being able to control some visual settings, like FOV. It's balanced around that expectation.
Balanced around idiots who can't find out by themselves what options do? Wow, that's some great view the devs have on us lol
-
So me playing on a Microsoft surface laptop with native 4:3 res is cheating @not_Queen?

Yes, it is opt-out. It defaults to on since it mitigates queue times.
So what platforms will be able to play together?
PC with PlayStation with Xbox with Nintendo?
-
It's like saying "we don't need to ban aimbot cheaters, not many people use these cheats".
Idc how rare something. If it's busted it needs to go.

you mean using cheats outside the game? Deathslinger already comes with Crosshair on ADS. part of the skill of playing skillshot oriented killers is being able to visualize an invisible arbitrary crosshair on your screen. Players who sink a lot of hours into Huntress will tell you that. At least it isn't as bad survivors using Stretched Resolution to break a lot of viewpoints and loops so that they're even less mindgames than they already are. I don't sincerely see the strength in Deathslinger, half the time I play against one, I don't even get chased, the game is over by the time that happens. Maybe I'd understand his 110% if he was very lethal but right now it is just weird. I'm glad that Pyramid head might redeem Deathslinger a little bit.
Using a crosshair isn't cheating. Monitors have build in crosshair options nowadays

This is largely due to the long production lead times on stuff. A new Killer gets started on many months before the release. It is the immensely long-term planning required to create new content that causes seemingly small updates so long to appear. Just as one example, the Doctor update was first designed in July of 2018, and didn't ship until January of 2019. The delay was because the resources needed to produce that update were already committed to other content that released between those two dates.
Some small updates do get slotted in faster, but it's a matter of priorities. Discordance isn't so hideously busted that it warrants bumping other things out of the pipeline for it.
How about taking a break on DLCs finally? It h hurts to see it
-
@Peanits said:
We've mentioned it in the past, but yes, we are aware, although there's no single right answer. Some people prefer 1, some people prefer 3. 1 gives you more regular updates, but 3 gives you less loud noise notification spam. I'm more of a tier 3 guy myself; I don't need a loud noise constantly going off in a chase, and I've never found the 4 second difference to be a game changer.
If you like tier 1, that's totally fine, you do you. If you prefer 3, that's okay as well.
How about: make the noise less annoying?

It's not funny but sad.

Even if the clothing on some of the females is "revealing," it usually fits their character. With Claudette's new outfit my issue is that it just... doesn't... like at all. It's like a completely different character could be made from that.
Ikr? I swear the first time I saw the pictures I couldn't tell who it should represent. I was shocked this should be Claudette. Absolutly doesn't fit.

Yeah, I really don't believe the devs just can't figure out consoles. I'm sure there are numbers we are not privy to that make their decisions but this game should run just as well on a console as it does a PC and it's not even close.
It's not even running well on pc compared to other games lol.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how looking behind you saves you from the Slinger
- Look behind you
- Check which way he's facing
- Juke a different direction
- Repeat
I don't understand how this is going to help against deathslinger.

I'm working on it, I might do it in form off a video so it's much easier for everyone to follow the steps. It just will take a little bit of time since I'm a lazy ass with not much experience of video editing lol
-
Was smurfing ever gone?
Smurfing exists in EVERY pvp game. It's something you can't get rid off. We just have to deal with it. All the devs can do is making playing on higher ranks against sweaty opponents more attractive. This will reduce smurfing but definitely won't eliminate it
-
I can do a tutorial, I found new ways to make dbd playable on machines below minimum requirements

You don't need to drop them instantly, just right before he gets an opportunity to spear you. He's weak for the same reason legion is. His power is non-lethal.
Deathslingers ability to instantly use his m2 (unlike Huntress) gives him the opportunity to spear you in the very first 2 loops most of the time. Especially long loops with clear sight.

Well no matter how good he aims, he has to break most pallets that get dropped. Ez counterplay.
Soo, survivors don't loop pallets and drop them instantly? Damn, seems like a fix to looping, the strongest thing survivors have and killers always complained about. Oh wait, it is.
-
What people tend to forget: it would be a toggleable feature like other games with Crossplay mechanic.
U don't want to play against pc players: fine, toggle it off. But don't bloat it off and prevent others who want this feature to get it. Many console players want to play with friends on pc

Hag and Spirit are better at anti loop, but yeah, I get the drift.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1308655#Comment_1308655
He should still be 110% MS, his anti loop is FAR stronger than Deathslinger's gun.
U think Hag and spirit are stronger? He he can use it at loops instantky and ignores objects. That sounds much stronger to me :D

I think he should be 110% with a power as strong as his.
Hard to tell know for sure, because I personally could play him much with these insane lobby times. But when I compare it deathslinger who already pretty strong with his m2 and has only 110% ms it feels wrong to give ph 115%. I mean, his ability is the strongest anti loop mechanic right after nurse

It's an easier pill to swallow once it's in the rearview mirror. But yes -- we should always try to remember what the new player experience is like.
Even if you, say, watch PainReliever's recent survivor perk tier list video, and you go "oh, I'll make a list and go get these really good ones," it involves leveling:
- Meg to 40 for Sprint Burst and Adrenaline
- Feng to 35 for Lithe
- Jake to 30 for Iron Will
- David to 35 for Dead Hard
- Bill to 40 for Borrowed Time and Unbreakable
- Dwight to 30 for Bond
- Nea to 30 for Balanced Landing
- Nancy to 40 for Inner Strength
- Claudette to 35 for Empathy and Botany Knowledge
- Adam to 35 for Deliverance
- Laurie to 40 for Decisive Strike
- Kate to 30 for Dance with Me
And that's realistically kind of a lot to bite off straight away, but it immediately lays bare the enormity of the grind, and I'm willing to bet that a lot of new players get scared off right then and there. But even if you want to make a single reasonable build -- say Bond from Dwight (30), Lithe from Feng (35), and then Spine Chill and Kindred, it's still a lot of wind-up time before you can even get a sense of what a "real" character plays like.
Then there's the matter of actually getting your perks on a single character. And the situation is even worse for killers, since they're all very different.
Your list is pretty generous towards the system lol, there are some more perks someone might wants. And lets not forget that in case you started maining Dwight in the first years and now you want to main someone who came new out. Then you have to unlock aaaaalll the perks against which takes a lot of levels past level 50.
It's absolutly crazy, I feel like playing world of watercraft or some kind of heavy grindy Japanese mmorpg

Stop talking nonsense lmao someone with good aim or crosshair quick scope you instantly without leaving you any room and time to dodge. U r just bad at him, accept it.
-
I have over 4k hours and played since release. I can't even keep up unlocking perks on new killers. It's way to much grind.
It's terrible and shouldn't be a thing. I'm not supposed to sit 8hrs per day over 4 years on this game like a streamer just so I can create the builds I want on every killer/survivor
-
Noooo pls stop! We have already way to many perks in the game and we get each dlc at least 3 more. The grind is already unbearable and I can't keep up on unlocking the perks I need on new killers.
Besides that fact that the devs already struggle to create good designed perks on each dlc. They will just produce even worse perks
-
Also the perk can be used as a good chance to 3 gen survivors when they genrush from the get go
