Good, do that. I'll never question survivors for doing anything that helps them toward that goal. Almost no killer does, in fact.
It's pretty much 100% on the survivor side when it comes to, "NO DON'T DO THAT! OR THAT! DO THE THING I WANT!"
I'm just gonna AFK Wraith from now on. According to the Survivor Rulebook, that's peak killer performance.
I see plenty of killers crying here about survivors for using flashlights, baiting the killer by being toxic or generally playing sweaty like there was money on the line.
-
You know survivors are supposed to escape the killer right?

they even adressed this in their recent Q&A. Reason why they would not implement this? Bc people already played a lot and would be frustrated to start at 0.
It's not like they could use the data thats currently there and add some more stats that start at 0 for everyone. I dont get that argument, bc currently there are no (official) stats. How does it really matter if a lot of people already played for a long time, everyone is going to start at the same time or they can just ignore these stats and say "yeah I started 4 years ago / 15k hrs, so these numbers dont mean anything".
Uhm my stats started counting since day one. They are accurate because the website is pulling them out directly from the steam achievements.
And with day 1 I mean July 2016.
This excuse is a lie

Holy sit , thanks man , it works !
Nice, enjoy your stats :) still sad that the devs can't do that by themselves lol

Just accept you won't have fun and that any 2 digit IQ killer will destroy you. Might aswell just alt+f4... Oh Wait, Dc PeNaLtY.. Uhm suicide on 1St hook.
Q up for a new match and hope for something better.

There's a good list.
I mean it though, play a game of Nurse. You WILL get a visual bug at the least, and very likely the 2nd blink not working for x amount of time bug.
I haven't touched nurse really after her "rework", she is garbage and not fun anyway

Theres quite a bit. We can start with areas that you cant blink through that you should be able to. Another is hits not landing that should
I thought it was in purpose so we don't play nurse anymore lol

Bruh there are like countless threads in general and in the bug forums. There are video after video demonstrating the bugs too. All you need to do is just watch someone play Nurse for 5+ minutes and the bugs are bound to show up for you to witness.
What bug tho?
-
Last time I picked Hillbilly and zoomed around the entire map the whole match. Sucks for the survivors but that's not my fault if those useless and stupid challenges exist.

What he said in full was that camping is intentionally balanced in such a way that it keeps the killer distracted while the survivors work on generators. In other words, camping as it stands now is supposed to be relatively unrewarding as a strategy as long as survivors punish it rather than feeding it. He also acknowledged that it's not much fun for the survivor on the hook, which is something that the developers aren't happy with and are looking into adjustments they could make to change that.
It's not fun for the survivor on the hook? It's not fun for the entire team.
-
Both sides are easy to hit red ranks. Maybe killer a bit harder but hex noed carries like swf on coms lol
-
4k hours, never had this issue. And angle has nothing to do with server anyway tho

Except flashlights can still blind you, even if you can't see them on either side of you. That's the issue I have with them. Fix that, and I'm okay with them in general.
You doing it wrong then. I have no issues with that and counter 99% of all FL save attempts.
-
Flashlights are fine. Git gud. Learn to face a wall. Learn to scout. Learn to bait.
-
There is no denial that swf on coms is the strongest thing in the game. If you put the 4 best solo survivor into one match they will do awesome and optimal play. Give the same group mics and voice talk and they will COMPLETELY DESTROY the killer leaving him no chance. The potential of voice communication is high. Just because other casual swf groups don't take advantage of optimal voice calls and just talk garbage doesn't mean swf on coms isn't much stronger than solo Q.

Yes, Peanits, please discuss this with the team. I watched the entire stream and mostly on almost all question the devs answered: Not planned or no. Jesus how we can make the game more enjoyable if you guys don't wanna change anything that community request you a lot.
Omg I had the same feeling while watching the stream. I was really disappointed (again). So many requests of the community, and not just biased ones but actually logical and reasonable requests with good arguments. And Bhvr? "nope, no no no. Ain't happening. Eat or die, idc. My game. Oh btw pls give us you money, kthxbye!!"
It's sooo annoying and frustating. Especially when you have other devs like from respawn who actually take a lot of request of the community and implement them in the best possible way. Hell, they even have csgo pros as active members in the balance team. That's some really dedication. Do I like everything about respawn? No, but they nail the community side very well.

@SpaceCoconut said:
If this were actually true and not an excuse, the 1st hook would have them doing more than simply hanging there watching their teammates do other things or alt-tabbing themselves because they're just hanging there..
Yep exactly. That's why I'm 100% sure the devs initially thought it's a cool mechanic to add but after so many complains and devs still not chancing it they just stick to any excuse to justify it. They probably have a false proud and don't want to admit they are wrong about certain design choices. Or at least the leader of bhvr.

@Akito said:
In this world you can't make it right for all. I like this mechanic it's unique these days and I like the interaction with the game. Like when you started a mori by clicking. Yea people spammed it but it felt interactive like I would be more involved in doing this.
And I would uninstall immeditely if I can't even choose to die at all. I hate that mentality of people "yea stay in this game!!!!!!" I hate it. IRL I also have a choice of killing myself or going on and trying. And I am sure I am not the only one who thinks that way.
Who is saying that removing the button mashing removes suicide on hook with it? You just made it up, noone asked for that additional mechanic.
Press and hold button = struggle on hook
Let for of the button = you die on hook
Dont make it more complicated now
-
@cheetocultleader said:
Just gonna dispel some comments here real quick:
1.) Holding a button is not worse on carpal tunnel. Movement, especially repeated movements over a period of time, are what hurts. Although sometimes just rain can cause a flare. Atmospheric pressure. All that jazz.
2.) I'm 31 but I've had carpal tunnel since my late teens. Seems to be a family thing. My father had to have surgery on his to relieve pressure a couple of times, the first was about his early 30's. Thankfully mine isn't that bad, but I'm not a mechanic like him either. Point being, you can be of any age and have health problems. Although I don't think it's very nice to insult or exclude your elders, either.
I remember the game called little nightmares rn. In order to climb or hold on things you had to HOLD M1. This mechanic actually made it feel so realistic and gave a real atmosphere and connection to me. Button smashing just makes me feel like a moron and I'm always embarrassed to do that with people around me. They look at me like I'm disabled or something lol
-
@Dweeteater said:
This is something that you don't know you'll miss until its missing and gone. It adds some tension to an otherwise boring, non-interactive time for survivors. The 40-50 somethings with ailments pushing for change is kind of ridiculous lol. Only in DBD.
When I die in apex and wait for my team mates to respawn me I do nothing. I just wait and watch. Do I miss button mashing there? Nope. Im glad its not there. I 100% would not miss that in dbd. No other game has such a stupid mechanic. Dbd is the first game I play with so many brain dead monkey mechanics in my entire life.
-
Settings we need for pc and console to make the game running much much better
AA (confirmed for pc only)
Vsync
Volumetric fog (huuuge impact on fps)
Real fullscreen mode (not that fake fullscreen windowed mode we have rn)
Shadow quality (big impact on performance)
Bloom settings
Motion blur settings
Fps cap settings
If we had all these settings we would be fine on low end PCs. Turning everyone above to low or zero could bump 20 fps to 60 fps with ease.

@sulaiman said:
This game has a hide-and-seek component, and thats why its important not to be able to temper with grafics too much to avoid gaining unfair advantages. Yes, a Claudette is hard to see in a dark corner, but thats actually the point.
Sure, it would help low end pc users, but a lot of people would try to gain that advantage even if they dont need it performance wise.
That's bullshit. No matter what graphics, I simply elevate on high ground and scout the map. And I can see crouching blendettes. This is just a silly excuse
-
@NursesBootie said:
There are many people out there that don't got the money to buy a gaming pc so it would be really nice of the devs gave us some more detailed graphics options. It's kinda difficult, because some people abuse specific graphic options to get an unfair advantage tho.
Money isn't even the big issue right now. Even when you have the money, you simply don't get new parts very easy anymore due to this stupid lockdown going on around the world
-
@MonsterInMyMind said:
For right now everyone is going to get the setting as for extra settings they didn't go into to much detail as they can't yet.
Wdym with they can't yet? They have obviously plans right? And it's not a big deal to announce how many and what settings we will get. It's not like revealing a new licenced killer lol

@Dolls said:

There are things I enjoy about it. 1 it keeps me involved in game play. Like even when I'm slugged(as boring as that is) I can still crawl around. When I'm hooked I can struggle.
2 It helps when I see people trying to farm me I can just leave the match since I'm obviously not seen as a teammate during those times.
You can move your mouse and scout the map for your team and the killer. That's more involved than pressing a button like a braindead monkey.
Who said that you couldn't ######### anymore when it's automatic?
-
@mottigedel said:
I already tab out when first hooked tbh, so i can understand the dev's point about just not being engaged when in second stage when it most matters. There is always a group of ppl that won't agree with certain ideas/ mechanics, that doesnt mean they have to adjust it for that group
What's bad about tab out? Exactly, nothing. It's a strawman reason to justify this stupid mechanic. The devs are probably to proud to admit it's stupid.

Holding the button is actually worse for people with carpal tunnel, I think.
I doubt that, you could simple rest your whole hand on the spacebar

@Dolls said:
Im a survivoir main and I like the struggle. Ive never broken a controller over it either...if people keep breaking controllers thats on them.
I don't buy you lol.
What exactly is it that you like about it?
-
@Peanits said:
I just want to clarify one thing; while we aren't planning to make it automatic, that does not mean that it won't ever be changed to something else (something other than button mashing).
I want to clarify something: I dont feel more engaged by being forced to mash a button, not do I feel more tense. I still use my phone while on hook.
All it does is annoying ME, my hands, my room mates and my wallet (cuz keys/controller break faster).
This mechanic servers no positive purpose. I dont know ONE SINGLE survivor main who enjoys this. Actually, the devs at bhvr are probably the only people who like it.
For the good, raise your voice together with the community and help making a change happen.

Oh, you mean instead of giving us a proper options menu where we can adjust the AA in game, they just let us be able to edit our .ini file again?
Sigh.
Honestly the lack of a proper options menu is enough for me to boycott the game at this point. This is getting ridiculous to the point of being a meme. Why are they so afraid to add such a simple thing that PC games over 2 and a half decades ago were able to implement as a basic standard?
Christ, even the original Phantasy Star Online had a more robust options menu than this game and I'm not even being sarcastic.
It's so sad, I'm suprised that the media isnt making jokes about it and ripping apart what a horrible optimised game dbd is. It's a scandal imo.

It's like saying "how is it fair that someone saved up money for years to buy Porsche while others kept spending money left and right and can't afford a Porsche?"

I can see why they force it on. This game isn't supposed to look that clear. It's all about the fog, and larger displays and expensive hardware would have a significant advantage during play.
I'm against disabling AA after seeing the immense clarity and perception change.
