We were not discussing how BHVR could fix FOV but whether or not stretch screen created unequal footing.
Your snide comment was not needed.
"that increasing survivor FOV extended your view beyond game design intentions granting information that directly affects gameplay."
Problem there and I provided a solution. Idk what you want.

A guy getting 32+ 4ks in a row while crippling bubba with an addon is not good enough for you to be called a great player. A tournament winner is not good enough to be called a great player. Reminds me of ppl who call grandmaster players in league "bad" because they're "only" top 600
Otz is not the best but he is still better than 99% of the playerbase of this game, you cannot balance the killer role over the top 1% of the playerbase while being a top survivor basically just requires knowing when to do gens, knowing when to group up and when to save while lasting at least 30 seconds in a chase which is completely doable against most killers. I'm not saying survivor is unskilled but there's a point where good survivors get so strong that you cannot win, it's inherently flawed that the soloplayer often has to react to what the survivors are doing instead of being the active role especially during the many timewasters in many maps that are impossible to manage for most killers.
"a guy" who you talking about?
I do 4ks as wraith perkless, whats your point?

That's kind of the point I'm making dude, dbd isn't competitive at all, so the having a higher FOV would give an advantage argument is kinda dumb.
I know I know, but to many people take it dead serious as if they was 2 million dollars on the line for the winner.

ppl who play this game for a living are not good enough for you, so basically anybody who doesn't main this game should shut up about an unfair mechanic but at the same time survivors can get crutches galore.
Sure it doesn't affect you as a "great killer" but the queuetimes and matchmaking putting redrank SWFs against yellow killers reflect that killers are not fun to play.
Just because someone streams a game for living doesn't automatically makes him a great player.

I play on PC but never turned off anti-aliasing, even when we could. There's nothing about the game that looks terrible to me, and I do have vision and migraine issues, so lots of games have effected me negatively. That said, I feel bad for the color blind folks.
Are you playing on high settings?

Sorry but I don't believe you. If you truly have 6k hours in the game then you would know how problematic and abusable DS is. Pretty much everyone has a problem with DS. Ask people like Noob3, Monto, Tru3, Otz, and so on, most will say DS needs changes.
I have 4k hours on pc and since the rework of DS I'm totally fine with it.
Noob3 is a survivor main who has not much experience as killer. To me his opinion isn't valued high.
Monto isn't even good.
Otz is eating sometimes DS on purpose (he did it on me when I baited him to do it) and knows he will lose the game for it. He knows how to counter it but just doesn't do it sometimes.
Tru3 idk what to say about him, I haven't watched him for a long time. But back then it seemed like he is in his own bubble and doesn't accept or discuss any other options than his own. So they might be simply bias.

You really didn't get that dude.
It is about the field of view, your view angle would never change(human wouldnt have his eyes separately on both side of the head like the animals). Your eyes always retrieve the views in a certain, fixed angle.
As a result, a widened view means a farther sight, both horizontal and vertical, it could not be only a horizontal case, otherwise it will counter to human's common sense.(But if you insist on stretching only the horizontal resolution, actually you have shortened your view angle, I didnt see theres any beneficial to do so )
So what I want to express is that, what ever it is, FOV or streched resolution, if you still want to keep the nature sense of your eyes , in another words, to keep the view angle generally the same as what it be in your real life, the horizontal and vertical will for surly be changed simultaneously
What bullshit are you talking lmao? Humans have a natural FOV of 135*180 (horizontal*vertical) degree.
This game has maybe a horizontal FOV of 60 degree as killer.

Killer has extended FOV perks that only go so far and do not grant you the ability to look over blind spots/object sight breakers. The perks were created with such things in mind.
On survivor you do not have FOV increases for the above reasons. You can see (multiple video evidence on YT) that increasing survivor FOV extended your view beyond game design intentions granting information that directly affects gameplay.
This will be my last post as I really don't care to have an exhausting "back and forth" with a stranger on the internet. You do you.

Stretched res also just makes the game look like ######### imo. Also again why should people care about min maxing in a casual game. I get being competitive but dbd just has so many rng aspects to the game that play a far larger factor then if someone can see in a few more degrees
I tried strecthed res by myself. It ONLY extended the vertical FOV but not the horizontal FOV
-
Quick reminder: even some games on consoles have FOV sliders now. Fps Pc games not having this option is really embarrassing, especially for a multilayer game like dbd which is available for 4 years already.

Why do you care so much about Anti-Aliasing? It doesn't affect your gameplay, and if your computer isn't strong enough to handle it, then your computer isn't suited enough for modern gaming anyways. DBD is not the most intensive game you can run on PC, not by a long shot. It's not even as intensive as PAYDAY 2.
It does affect my gameplay and for many others. It's talked about in details in multiple post. Read them first before asking the same question again and again.

I already stopped playing anyways, can't play with 30 fps (i get fps drop to 0, how is that possible) and wanna know why? cause of the forced AA.
Same, I was already playing less and less to the point I played 2hrs per week. But since the AA force I haven't played a single minute.

My suspicion as to why they're so unwilling to give us this option and why it was included in Low Settings several months ago is that having no anti-aliasing makes the game look "bad". If they allow you to disable certain features that make your game look worse graphically and then stream it or otherwise show it to others, it doesn't have that same appeal as a "great-looking game". This could mean less sales for them.
Between this and laziness I cannot think of a suitable reason why they would forcibly implement this and then completely ignore all the complaints about it. It appears to be a pure business move.
It kinds feels to me a bit like they want to keep control over us since we are stupid consumers who don't know what they want besides throwing away money.
-
There should be a public and ranked mode first before even thinking about MMR. And then MMR should only apply in ranked and NOT in public mode.
-
I personally would connect it with chase time. Every minute you text chased gives you 1% bonus. This reflects your skill much and you actually would deserve it the higher the chances are. Especially when you keep in mind that many killers are pissed at you when you give them a long chase and they start camping you.

This is true, but to play devil's advocate again, if you only get ~20k BP by the end of the match and lose 75% of that, is it really any better? That's about one node on the bloodweb at that point, you're hardly making any progress. It's not too different from getting nothing at all.
Though even still, assuming you come up with an efficient way to farm points, seeing as how you could completely skip the matchmaking and lobby portion, quickly starting a match and farming points could actually be faster than a normal public match.
8k is not to different from getting nothing at all? Yet half of the survivor community were crying here when you guys removed the 800 struggle points in certain situations. Pls, stop.
-
Smurfing is something done in EVERY pvp game. The more awful the high rank gameplay is the more likely is it that people create smurf accounts. I did it myself in apex legends. I started versing the sweatiest people with multiple thousands of hours while I just had maybe 20 hrs of experience. So I crested smurf accounts to play against noobs like myself till to the point I had enough experience to play against the sweatballs.
It's normal and shouldn't be bannable.

if you can just farm constantly with friends, how do you think that would affect the game it's self? 8k per match with no wait times and not having to deal with what is "toxic"... it wouldn't be good for those who actually want to play the game.
People get bored very fast by farming, trust me.

It would be easily exploitable to get blood points from kyf, and I don't see any reason why you would get less bloodpoints from playing swf. That's definitely not the problem of swf, survivors get quite less blood points compared to killers anyway
Let them "exploit" farming then? It's not like they can get 100k per match, it's still limited. Besides the fact that we eradicate farmers from public matches.

Point is, Do gens or dont, the match is over anyway, like what value is there for anyone involved? if it was any sort of tournament it would be disqualified.
Also the real problem is campers who dont appear to camp, by the time you realize they are its already too late, too much time has been wasted.
But like I said, it does not matter, that match has had no value anyway, might as well just run up to the killer and die so you can go to hopefully an actual match after that.
Nailed it

To put it simply, certain bugs are quick and easy fixes, others are done by different departments. A level designer removing some invisible collision does not prevent a programmer from fixing Hillbilly bugs. We put out a hotfix for everything that was already fixed while working on the rest since there's no sense in waiting longer than we need to.
This is a change of bhvr's mindset I really welcome seeing. Bhvr used to not release hotfixes but instead waited months to put them all together into one update (midchapter for example) which was really unnecessary when it's already fixed. Good stuff, hotfixes are great and healthy.

If you drop shack pallet in the first minute of the game I see you as trash can and will treat u that way. "at the moment" sounds like there was previously a reward. But since 4 years you get nothing. I wounder when you actually start rewarding people for climbing up.
Btw, apex legends gave out rewards for free when they introduced a ranked mode from the get go. And the rewards are really cool, especially at the top

Yes and no. Yes, it is technically possible if they're designed with that in mind, but no, it's not as simple as slapping a new layer of blood over top of whichever cosmetic you want.
To keep it simple, I'm going to ELI5. Let's pretend the thing you want to add blood to is a cube. To add a texture to it, you need to flatten it out. It might look a little something like this:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/479/C2ZMED8MYDFA.png
Then you add blood to it. It might look something like this, although obviously not as crude as this example:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/495/LDA7M864GA6P.png
Now aside from the fact that this example is very crudely made, it looks fine so far, right? But keep in mind what happens when you fold this 3D object back up. The blood splotch in the bottom right might be fine since it's already on the face that's going to be next to it, but what about the top one?
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/492/FOKEAKQEXQRL.png
As you can see, the blood splotch on top is going to fold up against a face that doesn't have any blood on it. That's going to make a very clear (and ugly) seam where the blood suddenly stops and disappears.
To which you might say, it's simple enough, just make sure that it lines up with the other faces and then apply that to all cosmetics. That may work for simple objects like cubes, but more complex objects (like a shirt, or an entire killer's body) aren't as clean and uniform. They've got a lot of polygons, and they don't unfold neatly. To save space, an arm might be separated from the torso and rotated to fit into a small file. More importantly, since each cosmetic is a different shape (a t-shirt will have a different layout than a hoodie, for example), there's no good way to have a single bloody texture that covers everything.
There are some workarounds, but they tend not to be as nice or details as the manually created ones. Slapping a generic texture over just anything doesn't quite compare to an artist going through and manually placing the blood.
Why is Plague vomit working then? I would be fine with such a texture, better thank nothing.

Don’t be an ignorat fool ######### hell. No you having an older monitor is not cheating because you use it on native resolution. If you change an average 1980p monitor though to like 1980x1980, because of the dumb nature of the game you get a significant VERTICAL filed if view gain. Which is again cheating. You can see over everything and eliminate the possiblity of the killer mindgaming loops that are balanced around being mindgamable.
You have no clue what you talking about. There is no difference between native 4:3 and stretched 4:3 to 16:9 (besides being stretched), both give out the same image advantage. I tried out both. Educate yourself before talking.

Half of the team was legacy btw. When I see this, I instantly pick bubba and face camp. Have no interest in playing fair when they play with cheats on top of all of this (voice comms/streched screen) and give them an easy game where they eventually all escape no matter what happens any T-bag at the gates like an ultimate virgin they are. At least they tought I’m bad and made a stupid mistake trying to unhook the face camped guy in the hill that got 2 of them downed and it was pretty much GG at that point. A totem counter removes the uncertainty from Hex perks, if you include a counter for survivors, then Killers should be able to see when DS and BT are active on a Survivor. So no, it wouldn't be good for everyone, it would just be a buff to Survivors and a nerf to Killers who uses Hex perks.
It's ONLY a buff for solo survivors. Swf is already knowing all informations.
-
Oh I didn't knew that you can teleport from gen to gen and totem to totem to start working on them. Phew for a second I thought survivors had to run around the map with normal speed and find them while there is a killer who tries his best to keep them away of that and kill them. Damn son, you enlightened the community.
