Kinda agree surivors can still he strong but the game is alot more punishing for being in a bad spot now that you can't run a coss the map to shack or the main buildings for getting hit I'm glad they got rig of the ways to take so many hits

I want to play Oni with the new Armored Titan skin, but I don't want to play him while he's bugged and getting double orbs when he shouldn't. I don't like to abuse bugs for an advantage.
Just enjoy your killer until it's fixed who knows maybe it will become a "feature"

I was playing as a Bubba against at least a 3 man swf that were macro clicking and were actually very good at looping, but they would frequently go into lockers and be completely immune to me picking them up since their teammates were lingering in range to go in and get a completely free save, why is it survivor teams can just get in lockers and killers can't get them out of lockers and literally have to leave them.
Is the only counter Lightborn?
Dreg dosent seem to have this problem shame

Behavior will adjust its ... behavior. If I'm cautious and play proper hide and seek, things are fine except against the usual busted killers. When I try to showboat and be obnoxious, I get hammered.
I get it, it was fun to bully killers. It was fun to do outlandish dumb things. Now you kinda have to respect them for a change.
Sounds like someone's bad at hiding or not running distortion jk I love this update mostly

Right now the 100% bonus you get for playing survivor role multiplies ALL bloodpoints you've gained in the match, not just the ones you've got initially before other bonuses.
Is it intended or not? If not, please consider keeping it as an actual feature, it'll be a great help and incentive to actually play more since there's a lot of bloodpoint sinks compared to the previous patch.
Intended yes but I think it's bugged right now because of how long que times are

Feels very strange that the only decent regression perks - Call of Brine, Eruption, and Pain Res - are all locked on very recent killers, two of which are licensed and not available with shards. Feels even worse that two out of the three require you to physically go and kick the gen, something most killers don't have the time for.
Even if Overcharge hadn't been nerfed on the PTR, it too would've been a kick perk. Pain Res still hits for the same amount but it's hard to say if it's still worth it (and that's if you even have the perk in the first place).
Hard to say but after five matches as killer I'm feeling very weak. The extra 10 seconds on generators does not feel worth losing Ruin and Pop.
Over charge is also good I question the 75% starting regression but pop is always an alternative worse than what is used to be but can have value

This change is fine because most stealth killers either don't need Los to be effective.
Michale has to be close to get good stalking so just being close is allready a improvement foe him
Ghost face range dosent matter to him so he can be at any distance and you don't really know where he is
wraith will start his uncloak around a corner to hide his position

Greetings survivors, killers, and both-siders of the Fog! I hope this thread finds you doing well.
So, today was the big day, eh? New update dropping, Dead Hard nerfed (FINALLY), Thanatophobia buffed, Legion and Plague apocalypse, bla bla bla...Originally, my plan was to take a good look at those red backgrounds, even if they are a VERY poor excuse of a reward and immediately close the game.
But...
Each Forum post here was more confusing than the other, and 95% of them had a complaint of sorts (which is not unusual, but still...) and it was getting a bit difficult to catch up. So I decided to wake up my inner GLaDOS and put my differences with current DBD behind us...for science.
And well...the result was interesting.
Now, I didn't play MANY trials, because everyone knows I can't stand current DBD for long periods of time, especially if I am by myself, but I did get to see most of the stuff that got changed. And imma just say it right now: there was an impact.
Those changes definitely made an impact.
The DH nerf easily takes the spotlight on this one, and it is such a good change that now I REALLY wish the devs had the same idea back in 2017, when they designed the perk or a few weeks after its release. This had to be done, and in a perfect scenario it would have been done a long time ago.
There is also an odd absence of Decisive Strike...really, in the spam of a few matches I believe I only saw it twice. I don't think the 3-seconds stun time is a terrible change, mostly because DS actually worked like that in the past. Whether or not this perk has been killed remains to be seen.
Now, as for the killer buffs...I have some mixed feelings towards them. I get why they did it, especially with the "Hold W Meta" (which is a stupid thing, btw), but I believe they could have buffed Brutal Strength and Fire Up instead. As for the elephant in the room...
Thanatophobia...
It has always been one of my favorite perks and seeing it finally buffed felt good. I used it on all of my games, and its usefulness is clear. Paired with gens taking longer, and Legion and Plague being...ya know, I can see this perk being a part of the "new meta", if we can even call it that way.
But, at the same time, there is some damage to be taken into consideration. Things seem to have gotten a bit rough for Solo Queue, even more so than they already were. Look, I strongly believe that the difficulty level of playing solo survivor was not as scary as some people made it out to be, mostly based on my experiences with solo q from 2018 until leaving the Fog.
But now... This update hasn't been kind to it, and I would not be surprised if there are complaints on the way.
Overall, I believe this patch did a few things which were needed...and many which were not, and perhaps even more so than most patches in DBD's recent history. I don't get why they nerfed BBQ, Ruin, Self-Care, and many others. If the objective truly was changing the meta, there are better ways to do it.
But then again, remember that everything you just read are the words of an old dog, one that no longer cares, plays...or even recognizes the game which he used to love.
And you, dear reader? What do you think of the changes released today?
I will be more than happy to read them!
-Signed by GeneralV, the Master of Old DBD.
P.S: If you would like to see my build for the day, here it is:
Also an old player just new here I personally love the update I just wish they did some changes on the other perks that are bad like deer stalker or this is not happening.
The update is great except for a few of the perk nerfs that made them useless like the self-care and ruin nerf I hope they get new effects no be more in line with the current perks. Because yeah they nerfed good perks that could/has been problematic but left them to be useless and under used like the perks they buffed

Sluzzy never left us, Sluzzy is the will of the Solos made manifest, battling against unsurmountable odds in the war against the hordes of Killer mains who in their folly refused to git gud and instead choose the path of tears making a deal with the archdevil of nerfs.
Na I hardly agree with anything he said just nice to see the jesters back

Played 2 killer matches dredge both were fine with 1 escape tried some of the reworked perks never been more happy with the base changes to kicks and hits

I stopped prestiging characters after 2 killers because I realized the grind it would cause (before new system of course). Yesterday I see a "if you haven't already, do this NOW" video. He explained that if you had just grinded and not ever prestiged a character to prestige them now so you'd get p3 with the 2 gift levels. Well... I did so except with 5 lvl 50 killers I wanted to use for bp (to finish leveling a few survivors) before the update. I forgot to p1 those killers before bed. I thought this morning I'd see those 5 being p2... Now ALL my killers are p3 but with no add-ons or general (non teachable) perks except the 5 killers that I left un-prestiged accidentally.... Those killers are between p5 and p12 with all add-ons and perks retained.
I feel like this advice mixed with the confusing way the catch up rewards would work actively screwed me out of thousands of hours of gameplay. Anybody else follow this advice based on the update release info?
True but to be fair a week ago the said that they are going to be changing how this prestige boost was gonna work that for every p1 before the system would give 2 more when it his live I think he made a follow-up vid about this the next day they said this

It's just like I thought, the casual people who aren't very good at the game are gonna get frustrated and quit, I know a ton of survivors like myself who have done fine without dead hard for years but maybe that's because when it first came out there was very little distance and you were exhausted on the ground half the time because there was no hit validation so it wasn't worth it when you had better perks, but I have a feeling those blood point incentives are gonna be for survivors most of the time due to casuals refusing to play and improve
I've been running overcome I'm kinda loving it with the changes to hits the only hard part is staying healthy and I think it's gonna end up I'm more casuals builds since some like to run self-care ...still

BHVR actually did it. A perk in a horror game that is supposed to be used to dodge a hit was actually nerfed into uselessness. A perk that required immense skill in situations that required precise timing against many things that could cause it not to work (ie. server lag, killer connections). It is not fun to use now.
90 seconds to repair gens is not something survivors need or want to do. It is not fun to sit 90 seconds. Constantly nerfing survivors because of bad killers is causing the survivor role to be very unattractive and I opened the game today to play one game and clicked quit. 100% bonus points to lose against an overpowered killer is not enough incentive to play as survivor.
3 second stun against a Nurse, Huntress, or Blight is basically nothing. Any person disagreeing including BHVR needs to play survivor against one of these killers only one time to know. Decisive Strike and all of its silly deactivation conditions might be fun for killers but you feel very cheated as survivor and it is not fun. A 1-time use perk shouldn't be that weak. There is hardly any tools for survivors to use their skill and improve upon. Escaping is impossible against a killer that knows what to do.
Excellent killers do not have any issues winning an overwhelming majority of their matches. Balancing around very bad killers is not good for DBD.
Sluzzys back yay

Almost like making perks syngerize with anything has been a thing in this game since nurse was added

yikes, have you been facing Nurse, Plague, or Legion??
Trickster ring lady ghost face and Freddy I've only been able to play 4 surivor matches today but all had someone DC

Agreed plz

Surivors can't seem to figure out how to live without dead hard and quit mid match annoying but they need to learn

But Medkits are still going to be op, just run streetwise and desperate measures with no downsides. Why nerf a niche perk when the item is the problem? It’s classic BHVR, nerf something adjacent to the problem without addressing the problem itself.
Man it must sucks when you have to dedicate an entire build to something. Like that never happens
-
I don't think so because they said any surivor p3 before the update

Why is that even a thing? I feel like A the TR requirement stifles it for all stealth killers including its owner and B The notification that it is active is also stifling. There is no tell for other perks that have to do with pallets and survivors learn quite fast they exist through gameplay. Please remove the TR requirement as well as telling the survivor the killer has the perk equipped and maybe killers can get some use out of it. Why make ANY perk reliant on a terror radius? It is a huge slap in the face to the mikeys and ghostfaces of the fog. Please serious think about this. Make it a 32 meter range and while in chase
They added it because of wraith there would be one way to loop him and it can be countered by bamboozle

I just checked the PTB, and thanks to the grind changes my level 1, freshly bought Haddie now has 7 pages of perks.
Explain to me how this isn't huge for me.
It's going for you but what about people who just bought the game without half the cast p2 or 3

I feel like you're right. Because currently this meta is insane and I know for a fact many survivors will abuse the meta, taking like 4 or 5 hits until they finally go down. In my opinion, if you get a second hit after already having deep wound, the timer should go down quickly so you are forced to mend yourself instead of just looping the killer forever
Yeah this works more harsh than my idea but it works
-
@gilgamer said:
I'd prefer if they just made it so endurance didn't stack. it honestly doesn't feel intended and I don't know if bhvr has commented on it yet but hope it gets patched out before hitting live
I thought about that but we're trying to change the meta not remove it and this is a change just not a good one I fear but salvageable
-
Nah but it should be a bit louder

Incorrect. That's from a match where nobody used darkest moonlight. Everything was black and the killer's red light was just about the only illumination. Imagine walking around in near pitch black and that was the only light.
It was a bug from watching another survivor's perspective but they saw the game normally.
Sounds like the dredge fun

Spirit used to be the 2nd best killer in the game (of course only behind the unbeatable nurse) because she could run stridor and she could still hear you grunt if you ran iron will. With the new iron will nerf, not only can spirit hear you with stridor, they dont even need to run stridor because nobody will run iron will. We are back to if spirit gets 1 hit on you the chase is over.
Rember there was no counter to iron will before this updated
