  • I honestly would rather have KPop fans than Supernatural fans in the game

  • I find the fact the Wraith has an add on to make disappearance time quicker or make him faster cloaked is now silly and worthless. Disappearance time is super fast and he’s already in a car basically while cloaked. The reappearance time now is the only thing that you need add ons for. By the time you reappear survivors have made it halfway across the map. I would love add ons for more speed while uncloaked though.

  • Jesus another person complaining about the DS nerf. Can we not have one thing as Killer slightly in our favor?

  • I’m just here to say I found the meme funny.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

hatch needs an animation to open like chests and gates

It’s funny how it just instantly pops open.

  • @Phasmamain said:

Only issue is the hatch achievement

What’s the hatch achievement? And I’m sure whatever it is can just be reworked

  • @fr0sty1223 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/244183/why-can-you-reopen-the-hatch

As long as killers can camp and tunnel as well as run things like noed then keys and reopening hatch need to exist. You can’t give one side toxic mechanics and not the other side

NOED usually only gets people an extra kill and is easily counterable. There is no counter to keys. Franklins Demise can knock it out of their hands but they can just come back and pick it up again. Keys and hatch also allow the whole team to use it and get away. NOED and keys aren’t comparable at all.

  • Keys and hatch are so broken right now it’s not even funny. I’ve had three matches where survivors have found a key in a chest and all three of the remaining survivors got out through hatch. I couldn’t close it or do anything cause they swarmed it and if they are on it or near it won’t allow you to close it.

  • ive Had survivors get salty that I killed two of their SWF buddies and just hid for a good long time. Then finally they found a key and left via hatch like a bunch of wimps.

I don't find face camping in need of fixes from a game balance perspective but yeah, it's incredibly boring and should receive changes based on that alone.

Tunneling really isn't necessary against most solo queue players and this is coming from somebody who plays probably 70%/30% killer/survivor. My argument for tunnel protection isn't actually because I get tunneled, as I would consider myself okay at looping and most killers (I think) realize how much of their time I would waste if they're not immediately able to smack me off hook without BT.

My problem is I unhook Meg at least 40+ meters from the killer, who immediately drops what they're doing to return to hook. I show myself to them and try to body block if they can't one hit down but they'll obviously do their best to ignore me and go for Meg if she's not great at looping. You could argue she's not good and now just gets removed from the game as a result but I really don't feel like it's fair or fun to her or anyone else. Imo, solo queue would be much healthier if this just wasn't a viable way to play the game at all.

It’s a competition. It doesn’t matter if it’s fair or right. Killers need to get the weakest link out and fast cause then the stronger survivors suffer. It’s a valid strat. I don’t think it’s fair or right when I down someone in a SWF and immediately get hook swarmed by the rest, unhooking right in my face, with everyone having BT. But they do.

  • Undercover cop here. Don’t answer if you’re a killer!

  • I like solo as is. It actually feels like a horror game and for the most part a lot of my rando teammates are very good at the game. I don’t get a lot of Garbo teammates. Solo is just survivor on slightly harder mode while SWF is easy mode. I see no reason to make the game even easier for survivors. That sounds utterly boring

  • @Crypticghoul said:

I just want tunnel protection put in the game because I see it happen so often to teammates in solo queue. It's really not fair or fun to anyone that you just have to pray that they know how to play the game like a 500+ hour player and/or gave up valuable perk slots for small amounts of tunnel insurance while also hoping your random teammates, who can get to red rank by pretty much existing, will slam gens hard.

In a SWF, you have a free Kindred + Bond, everybody has BT/DS, and gens being finished puts pressure on the killer to not risk checking these perks or they lose.

But in solo queue you have to choose between chase and anti-tunnel perks or slotting information perks and pray your teammates have BT should the killer just hang around the hook and there really isn't much you can do to prevent a solo queue teammate from just getting run down out of the game.

TL;DR Ranting that I'm tired of killers tunneling these people out in solo queue just because they're the "weak link" and that insurance perks are the only real thing stopping this from happening. It's a bad and really awful experience for all players involved.

I’m fine with tunneling, especially with how fast gens pop and how long each hook state is. Face camping is the only issue I have. Cause it doesn’t give a person a chance to get saved. If the Killer isn’t facecamping and you’re still getting tunneled then that’s on your teammates for doing an unsafe unhook. Tunneling is very necessary in a lot of matches due to gen progression and how long hook states are.

  • I’m glad you’re one of the few survivors being honest. Anytime people mention buffing Solo q they say then they can buff killer to compensate but I don’t think they are being honest about it. They don’t want to buff killer. They just want the whole game to be SWF and can’t stand it when they struggle a little bit more in solo. I like solo as is cause it feels like a an actual horror game. Turning this whole game into SWF is just one step closer to making it an esports game and I have no interest in that. Deep down a lot of people suggesting to buff solo really don’t want to buff killer to make it fair. SWF teams destroy killers a lot of the time or at least make their job twice as hard. Turning solo q into that as well will just make more killers quit, especially if you don’t in turn buff Killers to compensate for even more boosted survivors. This game already suffers from a low killer player base.

They have actually released these stats before (not win rates of SWF, but how many are SWF) and only about 4% of survivors play as a 4 person SWF. Slightly more for 2 and 3s, and less than a quarter in total.

That’s been years ago though right?

  • @JPLongstreet said:

Back in 2019 they put out some general stats about SWF, stating about half of all survs were in at least a two-man group, and that the average escape/death rates weren't much different, even at red ranks.

I believe those totals were with all platforms combined, which makes sense given the UEA's with the consoles would prohibit separate reportings.

But I also have to think the numbers in a SWF must have further increased due to the lovely Solo queue experience and Covid, etc.

We could def use more up to date stats!

I’m betting it’s more than half the survivors in the game are SWF. They would never show the data if that’s the case.

  • Just had another match where the survivors three genned themselves and they of course found a key in a chest and all three got out. This key bug is getting really annoying.

It's my perennial summer movie. Caught it in the theater on a stormy summer afternoon in 1993, packed theater, while living in a hotel because our house had caught on fire. The year of my first kiss, the year I discovered Mortal Kombat, the year of Jurassic Park and every childhood toy of the 80s melting into worthless puddles of plastic. One of the most memorable years of my life, and Jurassic Park is smack in the middle of it.

Just read the book on the film's 25th anniversary. I was quite surprised that I didn't like it nearly as much.

I’m a fan of the book and movie

Yeah this is completely ######### ridiculous. I mentioned a few days ago that I was up against red ranks while at rank 16 and people were astounded. Now I'm seeing a rank 17 against a straight-up rank ONE. A 16 point differential on a 20 point scale. That is just patently absurd. There is NO reason why the matchmaking system should work this way, be able to be exploited in this way. And screw the clickers who spam their flashlights, they remind me of those kids who would use laser pointers to shine into people's windows at night when they first became commonly available. I've said it before and I'll say it over and over until I die: I will never understand the mentality of cheating, hacking, spamming, deliberate obnoxiousness, etc., to win a game. Why even play? Why is winning a game so important when one isn't even interested in the game as it's intended to be played?

-Love the Jurassic Park poster though. One of my favorite movies of all time.

    I love Jurassic Park. Lol

I can assure you that insta blinds were removed some time ago. You are either experiencing a hack, or team blinds.

Guess it’s a hack. Cause it’s only one person that does it.

  • Not to mention a lot of toxic SWF teams legit gain the system by purposefully getting a low rank teammate so they can get low rank killers. I already think SWF is cheating but when they do this it’s a whole another level of cheating. If 3 are red rank and the last teammate is green or higher it matches based on the lowest rank survivor. Here is an example. Just happened to me too. Typical clicky clicky flashlight and hook swarming the minute someone in their team goes down.

I recommend you to use light born and or franklin's. Franklin's will help you against greedy survivors who loves their flashlights. Light born is basically a perk that help not to get blinded.

What’s funny is. I usually run Franklins cause I main Wraith. The one time I didn’t is when I experienced this lol.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

Probably an exaggeration but I know what you mean. You can literally look up down left or right as killer, so even the survivors ######### up the flashlight timing or angle, they still get it. And they can blind you in the short time it takes you to vault a window, which is ridiculous. Survivor sided game.

I can’t even turn my head to avoid it. The flashlights they were using were an instant blinding. Just turn it on, aim it at my face, and bam. Over. Doesn’t even give me time to look away.

It's very nice of you to say that, thank you. I have anxiety issues and pretty much only every played one other online game (GTA V) when I was with friends. I play games to relax and have fun, I'm not interested in cheapness and aggressive competition and winning at all costs and trash talking, etc etc etc. So finding people online who have the same mindset is kind of difficult. I was actually just commenting in the "giving thumbs up" thread that I've been doing it in the vain hope that somehow it makes a difference and wishing that players had a consistently reliable way of really showing respect and appreciation for one another.

I feel the same. This game constantly feels like I’m in a tournament esports kinda thing as Killer. Granted this only happens at night. Daytime matches and such are much more chill so I don’t have to play in a panic the whole time. But it just sucks that for me the game is unplayable as Killer at night.

Well that's the thing I'm not mad at survivors for playing SWF, I'm mad at the devs for not properly balancing around SWF. I just want to play a fair match and seeing as the game isn't balanced around SWF, that isn't a fair match.

The toxic survivors you mentioned are what is truly irritating.

I had a four man SWF team running all the meta perks last night. They would unhook in my face, swarm me, and everything. All had borrowed time, all had flashlights, Unbreakable, the works. I actually had friends over watching me and they were in disbelief at how they were acting. SWF allows survivors to make mistake after mistake and never have to be punished for it. Because they have their buddies to pick up their mistakes. Killers never have that option. One mistake in the match can snowball and make you lose completely. If they buff solo to be a copycat of SWF then solos can now be toxic and do this together. I seriously don’t want solo buffed.

  • @Blueberry said:

Knowing that they may be bad individually does nothing to improve the experience of playing that match unfortunately. If anything that would make you feel even worse for losing to people that didn't even win because they were good.

It helps the rage honestly. I’m not mad at nice SWF but it’s never the nice ones that make me rage. It’s the one who tbag, click their flashlights, then send me messages after the match

  • @danielmaster87 said:

They won't show it because we all know SWF results are gonna blow solo's out of the water, and then they'll have to admit that SWF is overpowered.

I guarantee you that is the truth. If they show the real stats SWF would blow everything out of the water.

I mean like uhh... no sweat, y'know? Comms are fine IMO, but I mean OoO, 4-man Brand New Parts, etc.

    Clicky clicky flashlights, tbagging,etc.

  • @jester20k said:

Well I hate to break it to you but insta blind flashlights don't exist. All flashlights blind at the exact same speed.

I beg to differ. The second I get hit with it there is no buildup. It’s just instant blinded.

  • @miketheratguy said:

I enjoy the solo game, even if some of my losses sometimes feel cheap. I like the idea of four random strangers having to work together toward a common goal. I like not being paired with cliques of dickhole friends.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I see no need for solo buffs. The difficulty of playing by myself with no means of actual communication may make things more difficult than SWF, which means that it's going to take longer to learn to excel at the game, but I'm fine with that. I don't want my hand held. A more fair and balanced matchmaking system wouldn't hurt though...

I’m fine with better matchmaking. Though honestly when they did that test awhile back I had an awful experience. Got baby killers and baby survivors, or professional killers mixed with baby survivors. It was a mess.

who cares about bad players clinging to their swf crutch and getting carried by rushing generators, abusing map design and second chances

i want my matches to be fair and not infested with these garbage players that seem to play with their monitors turned off

i don't think solo needs a huge buff to become swf 2, it just needs kindred free and good teammates.

I don’t have this huge issue with garbage players that everyone seems to have in solo. I have bad teammates from time to time but for the most part they are pretty decent. And even the bad ones can occupy the killers time while everyone just does gens.

  • @KingFrost said:

I want to Buff Solo because then you could, in turn, buff killer. Buffing killer without buffing Solo just makes solo more miserable.

If they buff Solo they won’t buff Killer. Look at what they did when they nerfed DS. Next patch, huge nerfs to Twins and other Killers. Lucky Break massive buff etc. They nerf one thing in the killers favor then they massively buff something for survivor. It’s not going to be even when they buff Solo.

  • @Mysterynovus said:

I think you need a break, my dude. Literally 90% of your recent posts have a feeling of exhaustion to them, like playing tha gams is trying your patience.

The disparity between SWF and solo Survivor is what's holding this game back so much because any buffs to Killer hurt solo play far more than SWF. Not every solo q player is secretly some toxic sweaty SWF squad mate salty they can't win or something because they're flying solo. Please try to understand that closing the gap between solo and SWF will allow Killers to be buffed without the worry of making another group's experience worse.

I’m rank 5 in survivor and I have no problems with Solo. It’s more of a challenge and actually like a horror game like the game is suppose to be. When people want solo buffed they just want it to where they are in the power role again like SWF has. Do I have bad teammates from time to time? Sure. But a lot of high tankers know what they are doing. I see no problem with Solo. Survivor is hella easy, and add SWF to it it’s even easier. Solo Q is just slightly harder. I think people want to buff solo q cause killer is slightly more of a threat and that makes them upset.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

I think a lot of people want to boost solo because solo players are just bad period.

With the current matchmaking even if those solo people had information, they would still be squatting down, letting their teammates go to phase 2, not learning how to loop in general and most definitely NOT touching a generator.

Not everyone who plays with friends plays for the communication advantage, they play because of the reliability that they will help with the objective during the match. Whether it is by buying time for them to do gens or actually do gens and stay on task when they haven't been found the entire match.

Don't pigeonhole a group of people simply because those are the people that you encounter. Just like I don't think everyone who camps is necessarily doing it because they lack skill, even though there are those who do it because it is much easier to sit at the hook than chase someone.

and how would they help with the objective unless you communicate. That’s the major point of SWF, comms. “I’m on gen so I can’t go for the save.” “Gen almost done, keep running the Killer.” Etc etc. that’s not being honest if you’re saying SWF don’t run because of the communication advantage. Otherwise, it’s just solo with your friends.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

If they aren’t on comms and feeding each other constant information that boosts their low skill higher then they would lose more often.

this applies to boosted swfs. i know good players from swf teams that play swf because of terrible teammates in solo queue

too many boosted players coming to red ranks and thinking they deserve it

tired of a rank 5 survivor being downed to wraith within 20 seconds from healthy state

simply implement skill based matchmaking again so good players can play with good players and bad players stop ruining their games

If they do that wouldnt the bad skill teammates still just cling to their SWF? And a lot of people are still wanting to boost Solo cause they can’t play otherwise without SWF holding their hand. So they just want to make a SWF 2.

  • @miketheratguy said:

    "Dickweasels". I'm stealing that.

I play solo, I don't have a choice. Playing as a survivor solo is difficult but I assumed that it was how the game was intended to be played so I enjoy it. The more I learn how many people play SWF the more proud of myself I feel for doing my own thing and winning a match or helping others to do the same. I don't particularly like being paired up with SWF teams for the reasons you provided. Killer vs SWF is also not the most fun for very obvious reasons.

So yeah, if any of you happen to see the name "Miketheratguy" on the field, know that I'm just a scrappy new player trying to do his best on his own without the aid of three other dickweasels.

I think I have actually played against you lol. I’ve always been solo q so I’ve learned to adapt to it. A lot of people play this game right at the start SWF so they have a lot of their friends holding their hand and covering for their mistakes. The minute they try solo they get mad cause the other people aren’t always around them swarming. That’s why everyone wants to buff solo so bad. Cause they can’t play otherwise.

  • Don’t ever expect the Jeepers Creepers guy to be in this game. The brand is tarnished cause the director was a pedo. I still want Springtrap though.

  • Nurse and Spirit are the only ones who can counter and have a chance at high ranks. You want to nerf Spirit? Ok. Well prepare to only face Nurse forever. Instead of asking for nerfs, you need to ask for more buffs for killers. Except those two killers, it’s almost impossible to have a decent match in high ranks.

  • This map is great though!......for survivor....

If you got 'entity displeased', I think you had more issues, since I've had 'brutal killer' on 0K's. How many hooks did you get in?

I’m not saying I got Entity Displeased in that match, just that’s one of my criteria for losing. I don’t remember what I got that match though but not that.

I don't understand. If a Killer uses one of their ultra-rare add-ons to end the survivor's match in 60 seconds, or if a Killer face-camps a survivor with a key, that survivors gains barely any bloodpoints and de-pips. Is that not 'punished'?

In what way is the Killer punished more than this?

The killers also barely get any BP and possibly de-pip as well. Killers get BP for chasing and such. If they are killed quickly the Killer gets nothing.

  • @Jasix said:

Oh well then that makes more sense, BUT I will say - you were not going to get an "easy 4k" - you only killed one and they only needed one more gen to start the end game. They must have played decent to get 4 gens done with only 1 kill. You MAY have gotten a 4k, but prolly closer to a 2-3k. Now let's say in your scenario the other 3 were on death hook - then you would have had 9 hooks which is a win in my book. Curious what your score was at the end - because that's how I determine if I "win" a match. I don't need a 4k to win as that doesn't do anything for me - bloodpoints on the other hand do. This is why I focus on all 4 emblems each match instead of focusing on 1-2 - which is why I always laugh when killers camp/tunnel. (not saying you did either)

The way the gens were set up were just a few feet from one another. It was an easy gen patrol. My only mistake was that the hatch spawned right in the middle of the 3 gen. They hasnt even worked at all on the 3 gens, two were on death hook, etc.

  • @CluelessWanderer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2120478#Comment_2120478

My point was that there are loads of ultra-rare add-ons for Killers that can end a survivors match prematurely. Iri-heads are usually a blood bath. Same with Tombstone Myers. You can be totally healthy, never been hooked, and BAM- you're dead, de-pipped, out of the game.

    What's the difference?

The difference is the Killer is punished for ending the match early. If survivors managed to get hatch at 2 gens they aren’t punished for it.

  • @Jasix said:

If there are 3 gens left and 3 survivors - the hatch isn't even spawned. Just saying....

No I had 3 genned the area. One gen left but they couldn’t get to it.

  • @CluelessWanderer said:

    Disagree.

This weekend as solo survivor, I've had loads of Killers with ultra rare-add ons. Huntress with Iri heads, a Ninja Wraith (again add-ons), Tombstone Myers-

Numerous solo survivors have taken keys in, and the Killer just camps and tunnels them down. Just because it happens every once in a blue moon doesn't mean it's a problem.

You ever thought maybe they put those add ons in after they spotted the key? Most killers instantly go hard cause a key can end a match quickly. When I spot a key in my lobby I change up my perks and add ons. I didn’t this time cause they found a key in chest. Look where that got me.

  • @eleventbh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2118303#Comment_2118303

True. When old moris were a thing, killers would most likely be punished for tunneling, camping, then mori-ing off of hook. Not saying they should've pipped, but survivors shouldn't pip from key escapes either. The emblem system is just dumb. BHVR has said that.

Sounds like empty placating. If they know it’s dumb they should rework it or get rid of it. Not say yeah it’s dumb but still keep it

  • The minute I get that map all bets are off on being nice. I tunnel and facecamp. No way am I getting the run around on the 20 or so god loops and such.

Weird. Are you pressing it once and immediately saving the clip from the menu or are you pressing it twice? Pressing it twice starts a recording manually and overrides the automatic recording, which isn't what you want.

Other than that, sometimes clips are just cut short for whatever reason. But I've never had it to where it cuts out more than 90% of it.

I’m pressing it once after I encounter a hacker or a bug. And then it shows that nothing has been recorded beforehand.

  • The only time I’m annoyed with Dead Hard is when they DH over traps or get immune to ranged attacks, which feels cheap cause ranged attacks are so hard to do usually. Like I had one DH right through my Deathslinger’s speargun. In those instances where it’s like that I don’t think they should be able to get away with that. Regular M1 attacks sure. Other than that you can usually tell when someone has Dead Hard cause they just run away in a straight line from you. They are clearly waiting for you to get closer so they can DH. I usually wait it out then.
