We also don't know what will come in the future, peeps gotta be patient, where one side is given, the other is given after that. Makes it interesting.
You clearly haven't been around 2 years ago. The game almost died then (average player numbers in the low 3,000s) thanks to the devs only giving the Survivors and waiting too long to give Killers.
Your arguments are constantly apologising for the devs screwing up.

People are just not adapting to the new strategy, with Trapper all you need is small game and you'll counter him. Hag is the same, Nurse Dead Hard plus MOM when fixed soon. There are plenty of options, people just need to wake up and stop complain about everything
There's no adapting to MoM. 10-11 Killers out 15 cannot counter it unless they run very specific Perks with very specific and situational proc requirements or run non-sustainable Ultra Rare Add-ons as soon as it's fixed.
That is not acceptable.

As with any games, some characters are better for meta. That's how metas work. Too bad yo. I understand, I wanna take freddy to rank 1s and do well but I cannot unlese I use a cheesey strat anyway, that's how it is. I have so many ebony mories on my killers it's nutz, classphoto and black box, so many black wards, p3 so they come up often. These things are doable and that's why it's worth it to p3 your killer. But, I have much better results with better killers, that's how it is.
You're missing the point of the entire MoM discussion here. And no, your arguments do not justify its existence.

I play plenty of killer, I have loads saved up and still, extra hindered add on helps mitigate damage. I have tons of add ons, I know how killer works, thanks though. I play clown, spirit, freddy, plague.
Hindered doesn't counter MoM. Pinky Fingers aren't sustainable if you need to bring them into every trial.

I play all Killers, there are perks and builds to counter MOM. if you suspects survivors is a SWF troll group equip the right perks and killer to counter MOM. It's overrated. and Yes i have fought against SWF that have ran it in Red Ranks
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/403505#Comment_403505
Not true, it only extends the chase for 10-20 seconds, its literally a borror time v2, this is the same thing with Freddy's release where everyone thinks hes OP, if this perk gets nerf it will turn into trash and no one will use it anymore
As of now it is in a good balance. This is a good perk in the sense where it punish camping, which is the answer survivors have been asking for, so once you hook someone you move onto the next
That's absolutely not the point. It is not acceptable that 10-11 Killers will be required to run very specific Perks all the time to counter a single Survivor Perk that will be meta.
And News-flash, for Devour Hope to reach 3 Tokens, you need 3 Hooks and also hope that the Totem won't be destroyed beforehand.
Your argument is utterly ludicrous. Same for @Dabrownman1812 : your solutions are not sustainable.

There's plenty of killers besides billy that get around m.o.m. in the higher ranks like plague, huntress, legion too but screw him, etc. Clown can get around it too if it runs pinky finger or run extra hindered to make it not too effective. Clown took loops and survior bs well due to the versatile kit. Myers says screw m.o.m too
MoM will become a meta Perk, we all know that. Do you honestly expect Clown mains to bring an Ultra Rare Add-on every single trial? News flash, Survivors, Killer Add-ons are single use, that is not sustainable.
-
@Dabrownman1812 said:

Clown can use pinky finger and get around m.o.m. gas with extra hindered also gets quick hits limiting m.o.m.
Billy
Leather
Clown
Huntress
Plague
Legion
Myers
Trapper can pull survivors from traps
Nurse is nurse
Some killers that can get around mettle of man. As with any game, weaker characters have a harder time adjusting to better opponent loadouts n such.
Your list is outdated. MoM is bugged. Once it's fixed only 4-5 Killers can situationally ignore it. 10-11 cannot.
-
So you consider 10 out of 15 Killers not able to avoid MoM unless they run 4 specific Perks and hope that they'll proc as completely fine?
The Survivor bias reeks 10 miles upwind.

If its a 4 Man all with MoM you always know where they are its still a really good advantage/disadvantage depending on the side. I know I would deff profit on a 4 man with mettle knowing their locations.
Maybe you haven't read my previous comment. 1) Aura-reading is of little consequence and 2) with the no-heal meta, it won't activate until endgame.

I realize it dont stop loops but you CAN slow gen progress if you pressure the gens they are trying to do.
That is not a solution either, because of how long it takes Killers to damage gens in comparison to Survivors tapping them.
And the Killer can only ever chase ONE Survivor. If there are still a multitude of Survivors left, the gens will be done eventually.
-
No.

@Hoodied said:
@DocOctober Sorry, you did not @ me so I did not see the message, but I play killer and survivor equally, mostly survivor, and Mettle of man is countered fairly easily, said directly from the perk, it only charges the perk if its a basic attack, so almost all non-basic attacks will not charge the perk, secondary attacks, like the killer's power(Different depending on the killer) and I believe grabbing a survivor, Hatchets and chainsaws will not charge the perk, broken will not charge the perk (Plague), atm Nurse's "Lethal blink" will not charge it(Unless it has been patched), I think surprise attacks do not charge it aswell(Do not quote me on this), Michael hitting the survivor in Tier 3 3 times will charge the perk, but it will not work if you hook them the the same amount of times the only real issue with this perk is it hurts weaker killers than stronger ones, Freddy and Doctor MUST deal with the perk, Trapper is situational
@ me if you respond
I don't care if you play both sides equally, your response shows a big knowledge gap.
MoM is bugged at the moment. After it's fixed, only FIVE Killers at best will be able to ignore it: Hillbilly, Cannibal, Legion, Plague, Huntress, because they have M2 Powers that deal damage.
Every single other Killer will have ZERO counter towards Mom, because they ONLY have M1 attacks that deal damage.
As for grabs: ask yourself (and be honest): how many grabs do you get in your average game? The answer is next to none because 1) grabs are very situational, require them to be injured or interacting with a Prop and 2) grabs are bugged and the few you'd get usually start off as a grab, but then transfer into a hit because the devs still couldn't fix a bug introduced with 1.9.0 well over 1 year ago.
Grabbing a Survivor is no option due to being too unreliable and way too situational, Lethal Blinks are no option, Surprise attacks are no option, Bear Traps are no option because smart Survivors very rarely walk into them.
Sorry, but a Perk that 2/3 of the Killer cannot ever counter has no place being in this game.

But it gives you aura reading until that survivor is downed/hooked so it’s a risk/reward perk so you have to build it up before it can be used and it only works once per match. I honestly don’t see a problem with this perk.
Legion introduced a No-Heal meta. Survivors just power through gens and then have Adrenaline heal them back up. Who cares about Aura-reading when it's too late already.

MoM is second change but my thing is you got their aura once they heal then it should be game over for them so that's my reasoning for saying it sucks most will throw themselves at the killer too giving me either free hooks or free hits or just slowing down the game because of their idiocy.
Should, should, should. Too bad that that's not how it works.

For you killer side seems to be fair and balanced, well, tell me how to counter the classic tryhard build, huntress hatchets onehot ruin noed bbq nurses etc with an beautiful mori.
What we have? Oh an anti tunnel perk.
This community... Facepalm
You Survivor mains are getting very boring. Of course you ignored the main points of my post and just went the easy deflective way of "but what about X, but what about Y". You'd make a fine politician.
Very few games have Iridescent Heads in them and they can be countered by dodging Hatchets.
As for Nurse: stealth
NOED: destroy Totems
Ruin: git gud with Skill Checks or take Stake Out; or hold out the 30 seconds it takes for that Totem to be found and cleansed.
-
@KillermainBTWm8 said:
You're aura can legit be read for the rest of the game from 16 meters away.... killers have a bigger terror radius than that most of the times.
With how many Survivors take Object of Obsession in an SWF group, Aura-reading isn't a big enough downside for an extra life.

I know of your bias. Let me tell you nevertheless that Aura-reading is not a downside to a good looper. Aura-reading does not mean an inevitable Hook. You still have to catch the Survivor first.

If you run into an entire lobby of mettle users its an ez win becaue they will throw themselves at you to get the stacks and waste time. And not to mention you will have BBQ at all times.
What good does BBQ do if they throw themselves at you? No Aura-reading within 40 metres.

So ds was nerfed. thats fine, survs get a new perk that has many counters. U killermains complain. Here's my point. If this perk should be removed, then noed, rancor, moris, bbq, and haunted grounds should too. also legion. U killers have good ######### too, let survs have something too. Stop complaining and learn to play
Good ######### that has counters.
NOED can be destroyed.
Rancor warns you from the very first Generator that the Killer has it and flares up all Survivors' Auras upon completion of the last Gen, meaning the Killer has no sure way of knowing which of the Auras belongs to the their Obsession.
Memento Moris have conditions. If you never get hooked (and even after that if you don't get caught again), the Killer can't use it on you.
BBQ has several counters to its Aura-reading: Lockers, Generators, faking-out your walking direction, being inside the 40 metres.
Haunted Grounds only lasts 60 seconds at best, 60 seconds in which you can just hide from the Killer. I've encountered several Haunted Grounds. The number of times the Killer got any use out of it can be counted on one hand.
Meanwhile, Mettle of Man has ZERO counters for 11 out of our 15 Killers we have. 11 Killers cannot ever avoid it. That is quite a different issue to what you try to complain about.

"Let's leave the Perk that cripples 11 out of 15 Killers broken for a few weeks."
Only a Survivor main can be okay with that.
What if there was a Killer equivalent to MoM? A Perk that downs you no matter what after the Killer got 3 hits on you? Would you like that stay for a few weeks?

@BBQnDemogorgon said:
As Plague/Legion i've never had MoM successfully used against me.
Plague only needs to M1 3 times without corrupt to kill a survivor and Legion M2s don't count.
Chainsaws and hatchets don't either.
This perk is completely avoidable if you don't play...
Trapper, Wraith, Hag, Doctor, Pig, Myers, Clown, Nurse Spirit or Freddy
So you're fine as long as you only play 4 out of 15 Killers. 11 Killers can't avoid it, ######### them.
That is not acceptable.

Whether or not they can see me isn't the point. It's the fact that they can easily find and deep wound survivors to keep pressure going. I play a lot of legion and because of that speed boost its really easy to get that injure. (Obviously it's a lot harder to down someone)
That's why I think the devs are scared to buff thanat
Which I don't consider a good reason. A change shouldn't be prevented because ONE Character profits from it more than others. It didn't stop the devs in the past either (refer to Coulrophobia specifically excluding Snap Out of It).
-
It will lead to high ranked Killers deranking because they can't get kills and then Survivors will cry about not finding Killers in red ranks anymore.
-
@Kagrenac said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/402492#Comment_402492
Even if you split up, Feral frenzy has a component that tells you where survivors who aren't deep wounded are. Making it near impossible to be stealthy. You have to be quite a ways away from a legion to avoid it.
Please don't tell me you belong to that bunch that's calling BBQ OP because it can read Auras.
Having the Aura of Survivors revealed means nothing, they still have to be caught. And FYI, Killer Instinct only works inside the Terror Radius.
-
Stop derailing the thread @Choklomba and @Heroiq
Your replies are utterly immature and cringe-worthy.
Feel free to believe that the Killer side is harder, no one cares if you like living in a fantasy world.

@Kagrenac said:

It was. If legion wasnt so easily able to injure all 4 survivors and keep them that way then we would probably have 24% thanat.
Which has the easy counter of splitting up if you face a Legion, but Survivors obviously can't be bothered to adapt their play-style to each Killer.

Why are you being so hostile? Chillax 🤠
A 5 second stun is not the end of the world but I'll admit not the best decision the developers made. They should have changed the description to say that the perk fills the wiggle meter to 100% upon succeeding the skill check. Therefore, making Enduring not affect DS because wiggle free stuns aren't affected by Enduring. I think the stun duration would've stayed the same but I'm not sure how long a wiggle free stuns the killer.
Not once in the history of telling someone to calm down or relax has this worked.
Old DS stunned for 5 seconds (because it was bugged on all Tiers). Take that into account and we all should know, that such a long stun is a problem with all the loop spots.
A wiggle free stuns for 3 seconds.
@anarchy753 said:
"Now you're punishing every killer who doesn't run Enduring."
No, actually, now they're punishing killers that tunnel someone off the hook in under a minute with a perk that was ALREADY INTENDED to punish someone who tunnels off the hook in under a minute.
3 seconds was pathetic, a survivor has to be in a really ######### situation for it to even go off and 5 seconds is much more reasonable as a chance to escape the killer than 3 seconds where they basically can't even get out of sight.
If that were the case in all scenarios, I would be fine with DS.
But it is not being used to punish tunnellers exclusively, it also punishes non-tunnellers and quite a lot of times at that.
Some a-holes of Survivors actively seek out the Killer with it and because of the timer being so long, it's very much possible to go for the other Survivor, down them, hook them (so clearly NOT tunnelling the original Survivor), then find the original Survivor again and still get DSed because you're within those 60 seconds.
And end-game becomes non-existent and a free escape for the DS user SOLELY because they chose to equip that Perk. You only have two options: pick them up and get stunned or leave them crawling on the ground. Doesn't matter, they'll escape through the gates either way.

How it actually goes and has gone since 1.1.0:

Survivor mains to devs: WAAAAA, devs, those mean Killers adapted, nerf them, WAAA!!

Dude Plague JUST came out. And Legion just came out in December and they said they are looking into reworks.
These thing don't just happen overnight. It actually takes a lot of time to get right. Notice how almost every time they have a knee-jerk-reaction-like change it's awful? There is a reason DS rework took as long as it did, and there is a reason the Freddy rework is still TBD.
MoM literally just came out yesterday. You can't seriously expect changes this quick in game development. Small things here and there are one thing, but to redesign/rework something takes a LOT of work.
Too many people greatly underestimate what game developers actually do.
If the devs would finally learn from their past mistakes, MoM would never have made it into concept. That's my main point.
And just because something's new, doesn't mean we can't tell by now if it'll be good or bad. We told the devs already during the PTB that Legion was bad and it turned out to be the case.

We are watching for feedback as well. If we need to make changes to it, we will.
Well, there's a whole lot of feedback already. And at this point, regarding Legion and Plague feedback, I'm starting to no longer see the point of giving any, either nothing changes or if anything changes, it's never the part of it the community wanted changed, but always the the part they didn't want to change.
You guys are out of touch with your community for most of the significant balance changes and have been for quite a while.
I had high hopes for DbD's future starting with 2.0.0, but I'm losing it again, which is saddening and hugely disappointing.
You've seen the damage old DS has done. I simply do not understand why someone thought MoM would be a good idea after that.

So you're telling me there should be no safe areas whatsoever?
Also, if that is so absurd, than why chase them through it?
Regarding the first part of your comment: that is what the devs themselves stated numerous times as a reason for removing infinites back in the day. Survivors are not intended to have safe spots.
-
Of course it's the bug that fixed will be a detriment to Killers, business as usual really. Sorry for nerfing DS (which we buffed again), here, have Mettle of Man, basically DS with some decoration.
I hope Survivors are prepared for the Billy meta as soon as MoM gains even more popularity.

I was rushing this as I was in-class and made some stupid mistakes. Still got 85 %.
There's also a wrong correct answer regarding max Chest numbers. It should be 9, not 11. The Killer has no Coin to increase the number.
One thing I disliked: the cosmetic question for store cosmetics. I don't see why those should be relevant DbD-knowledge.
