Question for killers.

Why do you get upset when someone runs a certain structure (Fun House on Badham or Haddonfield, or the OP window on Disturbed Ward)

When it's your fault for chasing people through said structure, if someone is doing this, then you should make the conscious effort to not chase them through it. Either that....or play Nurse.

I've had people call me braindead simply because i ran through said structure, but when you think about it. The only one who's at fault is the person for making the conscious effort to chase me through said structure, it just doesn't make sense.

  • Because having safe areas for survivors is absurd given the asymmetrical nature of the game.

So you're telling me there should be no safe areas whatsoever?

Also, if that is so absurd, than why chase them through it?

  • I literally hit my queued up Benny Hill music and have a blast.

This is not a troll post - I really do this.

  • The devs used to say:

"there shouldn't be a place where survivors feel absolutely safe"

Yet there's braindead infinite loops that take less skill than playing Legion. I don't blame survivors for using them - I blame the map design for allowing braindead looping.

Regarding the first part of your comment: that is what the devs themselves stated numerous times as a reason for removing infinites back in the day. Survivors are not intended to have safe spots.

Yes, I am. If the killer is near you, you shouldn't feel safe. That's the basis of a horror game.

Because chasing is the only real way to deal with it. If you leave the area, a few things can happen:

    • The survivor realizes they have an area that lets them escape for free, and will thus run for the same structure every single time they're being chased.
    • Other survivors see what went on and realize they have an area that lets them escape for free, and will thus run for the same structure every time they're being chased.
    • Other survivors will loop the same structure, just because they know how much of a time waster it is. They will then realize that they have an area that lets them escape for free, and will thus run for the same structure every single time they're being chased.

None of these scenarios are beneficial to the killer. All they do is give survivors free escapes.

  • Because those windows dont have any kind of mindgame option, that's why most people agree that infinites should be removed (even some survivors see the problem)

Having said that, nothing justifies the fact that this playera called you braindead or verbally abuse you, you should just report that player and move on

  • Here is my opinion, and this comes from a survivor main.

If you are camping and tunneling every game, you are a bad killer, you don't trust your chase skills, you can't apply enough pressure to the gens. Sure there are instances where you are forced to camp or tunnel but I am talking about killers who made camping and tunneling their primary gameplay in this game. Standing in front of a hook and looking around you doesn't take skill.

As a survivor, if you are humping main buildings like crotus penn asylum or grim pantry or many other main buildings, you are a bad survivor, period. You don't trust your chase skills, and you can't answer the killers' mindgames so instead of sticking around jungle gyms etc. you choose to go and use those braindead places because you are unskilled.

Understanding your opponent and answering his mindgames or creating your own mindgames is literally the only skill that you need to have in this game. If you can't do those things, you are bad at the game.

    Purely my opinion.

Most of the time when i play killer i don't see survivors using that same structure because someone used it. I just don't think it would make sense to complain about it.

Which is why they included something called "Entity blocked"

Doesn't change their statement: no safe spots for Survivors.

Do you feel safe running loops? If you do, then the devs need to balance better.

I play Hag to deal with many loops so it's not too big of a deal, but some maps have too many paths to cover efficiently.

I didn't say it should, but to sit there and talk about it and make passive aggressive comments at people for running such things because they don't want to mind-game is kinda absurd.

@SpaceCoconut I don't have time to feel safe when running from a killer lol, i just try to use whatever i can to get away, Trying to avoid them is my main concern, not try and get inside their head and know what they are thinking, sure, i do it sometimes but most of the time i am running for my life.

  • Because dropping it punishes your score and freely rewards the survivor. The alternative is hope they screw up quickly or suffer gen loss for the down. Its really a lose lose situation if the survivor is competent.

  • Why do you get upset when someone runs a certain structure (Fun House on Badham or Haddonfield, or the OP window on Disturbed Ward) When it's your fault for chasing people through said structure, if someone is doing this, then you should make the conscious effort to not chase them through it.

So lets say there was a certain structure that was unintentionally preventing all killers (except nurse) from downing or even hitting survivors on each map?

What's to stop each survivor from just running right back to this said spot?

If anything neither the killer or survivor is to blame, it's the Dev's and the map designers fault for not fixing it.

If the survivor or survivors are aware of this spot and know there's no way a killer can catch up and youre using this spot.

    You're not good, you're just an #########.

  • Because it's bad game design and if we leave you, you'll just run there again later. Just leaving you isn't really an answer.
