  • Disclaimer: I play on console so take this as you will, but I just wanted to put a little guide of how I play Legion at rank 1 and do relatively well with them.

Here’s a post I made a little while ago about how I’m able to play legion effectively if you’re interested.

  • Bbq, monitor, discordance, sloppy

  • Bold of you to assume I have a mom. This post is toxic. This post is everything wrong with dbd and only adds to the toxicity of the general community.

  • If you camp and have a mori, then you’re definitely boosted. The only mori I feel is too strong is ebony and imo, just remove the hook requirement and make it available once per game only but this idea seems too difficult to implement and be practical.

  • Mettle of Man rewards survivors for failure and punishes killers for succeeding. Mettle of Man has now become the literal "new pre 2.6.0 Decisive Strike".

But it gives you aura reading until that survivor is downed/hooked so it’s a risk/reward perk so you have to build it up before it can be used and it only works once per match. I honestly don’t see a problem with this perk.

  • I don’t really have a problem with ruin when I play survivor. If you hit a great skill check then great! If not, STOP DOING THE GEN for 2 seconds after it regresses. You can’t get any progress during that time, but you also won’t risk having another skill check. Don’t waste time looking for ruin, but if you’re in a certain area, do a quick look around the area for a hex, if you can’t find one, do a gen.

    Console by the way.

Simple, there is no perk as op as DS once was. Noed has counter play while ds did not, you can only blame yourself if your not cleansing totems you see throughout the game.

Except I do cleanse totems as I see them and I can still get punished for it. Like I said in multiple comments on this thread, I didn’t write this to discuss what’s been said on millions of other posts.

  • @Raccoon said:

Hex totems and their placement are both pretty weak, in my opinion.

Some can be, but playing killer, I’ve had some really good ones on maps like the game and corn maps. Others like auto haven are garbage.

By this logic is bamboozle a crutch too? The killer removed all mindgame from that T-wall or L-Wall or jungle-gym, you have to drop the pallet or abandon the loop. Nobody cries about Bamboozle but it's a WAY stronger perk and a way stronger crutch.

NOED Is no more a crutch than RUIN is one, both help you win the game, NOED helps you win endgame, RUIN helps you never reach endgame in the first place, the only difference is that the Genrush meta encourages NOED. I guarantee you nobody would run NOED if ppl used small game.

Also don't kid yourself, you're not becoming better by letting survivors run out in endgame if you're not playing a 1hit k.o killer.

The fact that you’re even comparing bamboozle to noed is a joke.

    @Caretaker said:

Totems are hard to find. :c It's not like they have specific tiles they spawn on EVERY game. Not like they can only spawn on those specific tiles, in specific easily searched spots. It's not like the killer often times run to the totem to check it early giving away it's position. It's not like there's a perk specifically designed to go, 'Hey, totem over here." Oh, I'm sorry, let me fix that last bit, "Hey, free 600-1000 points here. :D"

14s per totem, that's what? 70 seconds overall? Could actually be shot down to roughly 28s~ best case scenario and you all just happen to find totems after spawning. In a match that takes roughly 3-5 minutes? You can spare a minute to do totems. Assuming you're team isn't potatoes or screaming don't do totems do gens and cleanse a few themselves that's even less time.

You totally can't just leave the match since that tricky NOED totem is blocking the exit gate lever, and the gate. :c If only you could remember the spawns and check if it's lit or blow it up or something. NOED really is just so overpowered. I don't understand why it hasn't been nerfed a 4th time already, *sigh*

Why can't they make good, totally balanced perks like Adrenaline or Sprint Burst all the time? Now those are perks that have plenty of counterplay and require skill.

Sprint burst is literally on a cooldown and adrenaline, unlike noed, rewards survivors for completing objectives.

  • @Numinous said:

If it was as simple as just cleansing the totems, then why would killers run it? If it is so easy to get rid of the perk, then why do you rely on it regularly? It's because they know that totems aren't cleansed most of the time, and that it will get them an easy 4 man after the gates are powered. It's especially hard to counter in solos due to the fact that you can't communicate with your teammates how many totems are left and whatnot.

Maybe killers should stop telling others to "git gud" and try killing the survivors before the survivors finish all of the gens. I understand NOED as a counter to a 4 man team rushing gens, but running it regulary against randoms (which, let's be honest, are basically bots) is completely unnecessary and unfair, especially after they've waited 10+ minutes for a game because of this matchmaking system.

    ☝🏽👌🏽

  • @ColgateAdvancedWhite said:

Look at the killer bias in the responses. If we nerf NOED, then they should put a duration on normal running for survivors.

That to me seems like overkill lmao

If NOED is what pushes you from solo survivor, you should probably rethink your loadout or playstyle. Even just small game/detectives hunch ends noed.

I'm glad to see you've fallen back on the torso defense of think what you want , because you have no actual rebuttle now.

Your life and death are always in the killers hands. It's literally the point of the game.

So I'll leave you with your delusions, and lack of understanding. Because if all that were true, and you have fun with friends regardless of noed (which is bs. You know you cleanse totems as a full swf) you wouldn't have even posted this, let alone continue to flail random arguements towards me.

So, start cleansing totems, stop being like everyone else crying about noed changes every day.

    Gl in the fog hon.

    <3

I’m delusional but you know what I do when I play with my friends? You think just because I play swf we’re all super sweaty with flashlights and instaheals? I’m not crying about noed, I’m expressing how my opinion on it has changed after playing a different role.

  • @Carpemortum said:

@PreGum I could. And you could not post about something that gets talked about every day.

But I feel like if you already knew all this, you wouldnt have posted this at all, or even responded so defensively.

Dribbling to prevent old ds was a joke of a tactic and not comparable to cleansing totems, and the fact you call DS "precious" is funny.

You can make any suggestions and opinions you want. You asked why you couldnt complain until they changed it. I gave you the reason. You continue to refute that and want to argue that it's your opinion, or whatever, man.

Earn noed? Earn a free kill? You mean playing killer AT ALL?

You say the perk is super crutch as a killer, but it's really not. Because better survivors will destroy totems regardless if they're lit or not. It's up to the survivors making a mistake. Survivors can completely negate that perk slot.

As I said before. If noed is an issue, you let it be one. Do totems.

If you want my opinion, which you dont have to like and cant be argued as it is my opinion, then let me tell you: my opinion, is that you really only play survivor (you call ds precious and get real defensive) but wanted to use the "I played killer" to not get flak, and then when you were met with the hard truth and obvious responses, it wasnt good enough for you so you want to draw wild connections and change your arguement because you continue to die to noed even though removing completely is in YOUR control, and are bitter enough to want to post about it.

But hey, that's just my OPINION, and you dont have to agree, right?

If you genuinely think I’m just saying that I play killer is for shits and giggles, then by all means think that. The reason I didn’t like playing survivor before is because I didn’t like the concept of my life/death being in someone else’s hands and noed pushes me away from playing survivor by myself. With friends, even if they have noed, I can still at least have a good time, but anyway, think what you want buddy 👋🏽

  • @Raccoon said:

Getting downed within 60s after being unhooked really makes me feel like I'm "earning" my DS.

You have to hit the skillcheck too.

  • @Carpemortum said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/388050#Comment_388050

I? We? You assume I'm on one side. I play both. And I never complained about ds. But it needed a change. Noed does not. If it's an issue, it's only because survivors didnt take out the totems.

Also, you cant complain until they change it, because unlike ds, theyve said that it's not looking at being changed. They wanted to change ds, it just took time.

I read your entire post. And it doesnt change anything.

You went from killer main who didnt see its issues (likely bc they cleansed totems or died to it.) To survivor, having issues with it (likely due to never cleansing totems while playing.)

So you playing a different side may change your perspective, but it doesnt change the core of it. You are now one of the people who if Noed is a problem, you LET it be a problem.

The only reason I stopped using noed is because I personally wanted to get better without relying on it and I did. Just because they said it’s fine for now doesn’t mean people can’t still make suggestions on how to change it if they don’t like it. It’s called an opinion and you don’t have to agree with it. One of the main things about the precious DS is that it rewarded survivors for nothing, just like noed does now. You could dribble to prevent ds, just like you can cleanse totems to prevent noed, but they both waste time and there’s no sure way that when you cleanse totems you’ll be successful. Now ds is changed so that survivors have to earn it, but there’s not really any way to “earn” noed except for survivors doing gens. Obviously the devs do things/don’t do things that the players disagree with which is why they gave us a forum to present our thoughts, feelings, and ideas. You can stop commenting to tell me things I already know.

  • @Carpemortum said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/387973#Comment_387973

Says the one who can't apply the basic, proven, always posted counters to NOED.

The people who have issues doing totems for noed also complain about not having anything to do other than gens. Doesnt matter what role they play.

Did you even read my post? I clearly stated I’ve read such posts and that this post isn’t about how to counter noed. LITERALLY the only reason I posted this is because as a killer main, I didn’t have an issue with noed and I rarely used it, but now that I’ve played survivor I can see how annoying and crutch-like the perk is. If you can complain about DS til it gets nerfed, then why can’t we do the same for any other perk?

@PreGum just cleanse totems, I’m a survivor main.

    Want a medal?

  • @Master said:

Annoy to cleanse totems? well deal with it i guess or accept the chance for noed lol

Also if you dont bring up any suggestion how to change noed, what are we supposed to discuss?

I’m sure you can find a million and one discussions on here about changes to noed on this forum, but that’s not why I made this post. I made this post because I used to be one of those “just do totems” guys who only played killer, but now after playing as a survivor and seeing how often killers use noed, I can see why people feel the way that they do and the phrase “ClEaNsE tOtEmS” is coming from people who, like me, probably only main killer.

cleanse the totems during the game, leave, cleanse the burning totem at the endgame, be stealthy or loop properly.

If your playing KYF it doesn't work. If you haven't played since the new update then FYI it's been changed.

I don't play on Xbox but hope that helps 👍❤️

I know it’s been changed, but after getting unhooked and picked up within the timeframe and hearing the sound that I hit it, it hasn’t stunned the killer. Was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

  • Stunned? No thank you.

The perk should make it so it shortens the time it takes you to wiggle off the killer’s shoulder. I think that would make it quite decent actually.

  • Just use thanataphobia. Survivors will be quick to heal with 24% reduced action speed. Trust.

  • I actually love this. It keeps everything they have with Freddy now and adds some new, practical things. A huge thing with the movies was that the more people feared Freddy the more powerful he would become and I think this is a very creative way to implement that.

  • legion’s Susie and frank skins, as well as Spirit’s school girl cosmetics.

  • It would have to have some type of range that maybe increases with each tier, but I like it. Simple, but useful.

  • We all know that during a trial the survivors and killers can't talk, or this is what we all assume.

The devs confirmed in a livestream that all killers can talk, they just choose not to. We can assume that goes for the survivors as well.

  • @Delfador said:

Yeah I think that the devs wanted this perk to be on par with NOED since both of them basically do the same thing.

Interesting change but there is still gen rush meta, meaning that hex ruin is pretty much needed and killers usually don't use any other hex totem with the ruin. So I don't see killers using devour hope.

I use devour, haunted, myc, and bbq on spirit sometimes and if you even only get to 3 stacks... consider the game over.

  • Well I mostly play spirit and legion (don’t attack me) so for spirit, I’m think bbq, thanat, sloppy and nurses. For legion, bbq, sloppy, thanat, and discordance.

  • You get 3% bonus for every gen completed (at max tier) so after 5 gens, it’ll be a total of 15% action speed bonus.

  • @AshleyWB said:

@PreGum How about you stay off my thread. All you seem to be doing is repeatedly insulting me. I'm defending myself by speaking up to you. Any more from you then you'll be bordering on harassment.

Are you sure you’re not a survivor main? You’re getting offended over nonsense pretty easily lmao

  • @AshleyWB said:

@PreGum I made this thread how about you leave. I don't like you and it's gonna take more than a few thumbs up to get me back to normal with my opinion of your sorry ass similonian face.

Like me or not, at least I don’t come up with stupid ideas that make perks worthless. Now stop replying and wasting my time with your nonsense. It’s tiring.

  • @AshleyWB said:

I'm not getting defensive I'm putting an end to it in a cranky way.

Some people are so stuck up that any thread you make for whatever reason there are people who go around slamming anything you say. Those people are annoying. And so are you @pregum for thinking you beat me or something with your snarky comments. You know forums could do a lot more good without some of these people cluttering stupid nonsense and insults around.

You know what you’re right! Please leave.

  • @AshleyWB said:

@Well_Placed_HexTotemDon't call me kiddo daft punk

    Looks like someone’s getting defensive.

  • @AshleyWB said:

@PreGum So apparently I'm wrong for wanting a change to ruin because there isn't a totem rework coming...ok. Actually you're wrong they're doing new stuff for totems.

    Where?

  • @AshleyWB said:

Ahem. Did they say ruin isn't boring to play...yes

Did they get all defensive and victimised when I suggested a rework...yes

They might have well said it's the most exciting perk ever. They are adamant that a rework never sees the light of day.

Now because not enough people agree with your dumb idea, you’re goin to make up stories and assume? Well you know what they say about assuming!

No one disagreeing with your idea is anywhere near a victim because as far as anyone sees, hex perks aren’t going to be getting changed anytime soon (including NoEd)!

  • @AshleyWB said:

All I will say is that there is a reason people dc over a Legion. @PreGum

Who in their right mind uses ruin on legion anyway?

  • @AshleyWB said:

Also I never cried about noed nor am I crying about ruin. You're just too dumb to see the positives of this rework idea.

Also I'm suggesting you're legion mains too so it's a little hypocritical to say my idea is so bad when you play the most stupid and unfun killer in the game. You people make nurse mains look fun.

And maybe my idea isn't perfect. Maybe all hex perks should take longer to cleanse. That is a separate issue but I do agree with you. The cleanse speed should be determined by the number of dull totems present.

Right cuz everyone who disagrees with you is wrong and plays a killer you don’t like... they must be babies!!1!

  • @TLP_Legion said:

One of the worst ideas I've seen for a change to Ruin. This is a complete nerf to the perk because you struggle with skill checks, and this would make the perk totally worthless. I hit the majority of them because it's all practice.

Not only would this need to be no longer a hex perk with this change, but it'd make it too easy to rush gens. Ruin isn't hard to push through as it is. The totem usually lasts for only 20 seconds. Ruin is a fair perk, with many options to counter it.

    Survivors right?

  • @AshleyWB said:

@PreGum Ruin isn't fine. Ruin is anti fun-gameplay and only is so widely used because it's needed to slow down gens.

The purpose of hex ruin remains the same. Just a few tweaks to encourage dynamic and more intense gameplay.

You’re right. Ruin is unfun. It’s unfun to be genrushed and then have one of your only four perk slots destroyed. Ruin is fine as is. If it’s such a problem just break the totem 🤷🏽‍♀️

  • Except since it’s a hex perk it’ll get destroyed and overall be less useful than it is now since there’s only a fixed amount of skill checks. Ruin is fine, if anything it’s totem spots that need to be changed.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

If you have a good headset stridor is also good on her as it increases the breathing volume when you cant see them.

Personally I feel like you shouldn’t use strider on spirit for the same reasons you shouldn’t use predator. Yes it’s harder to play her at first without them, but if you get used to playing like that, you can replace those perks with something else to give her more perk diversity.

  • Totem placents in better spots (I.e. not RIGHT next to a gen or in an obvious spot). For example, like the ones behind barrels that can only be seen from a certain angle.

  • Julie's Mix Tape: Slightly decreases the cool-down duration of Feral Frenzy. Etched Ruler: Moderately decreases the time required to refill the power gauge.

Julie’s mix tape reduces the fatigue you get after using your power while etched ruler makes your power recharge faster. Cold dirt/joey’s mix tape are more effective versions of julie’s

  • For spirit I think iron will is a much harder counter than light weight. She relies heavily on hearing when using her power, so if she can’t hear you, it’s much harder for her to track you down with Yamaoka’s Haunting
