"I'll do my level best to make sure you die first."
I think they do say what they are going to do.
That rule is more against stream snipers and players that actually try to ruin your game for lot of games and looking for you.
That can't really be used when he gets to play against them by a chance based on normal match-making, it can happen more often now because of MMR tho.
If someone used flashlight macro or pisssed me enough for me remember him, he is gonna die... but of course I am just trying to win and I just considered him as a weak link.

If so then pls buff nurse so her skill floor is lower so that even less dedicated player can achieve a 50% kill rate instead of dragging the most op killer character way below 50%.
No, kill rates data can be used only to support survivor's arguments...

Because here is the hierarchy:
- Survive With Friends
- Killers
- Solo Survivors
The bottom two will do the most crying. Plain and simple.
Low MMR survivors: This game is killer sided!
High MMR SWF:

Don't get to obsessed with stats... The Devs have stats for everything and little background on how those stats actually played out
Like do the Kill Rates included DC rates... I would like to see those numbers
Do they include Kills gotten by NOED (cause that's a thing)
Do they include those kills gotten in endgame... I would like to see those numbers
Do they include Mori's (I think those should be separate)
If we are to take those Kill Rates seriously then they need to as well... By telling us not to read into the Kill Rates tells me something
Personal experiences doesn't equal everyone's experiences... but it's a fun experiment to do every so often
I mean, I would really like to see pick rates as well.
High kill rate when there are only mains playing that killer doesn't mean much...

@Yamaoka said:
First of all stats mean nothing balance wise (i.e. Nurse is the weakest killer according to stats so there's that), secondly the kill rates dropped massively since MMR got added according to the latest stats.
Average killrate for killers combined is just over 50% and that's still including all those matches where killers got looped / destroyed all game but managed get multiple kills via survivor altruism (especially endgame. Survivors still love to throw just because they want their 4 man escape).
The devs recently mentioned they're working on something regarding camping so I assume the killrates will drop below 50% in the long run. Hopefully the devs will see it as an opportunity to introduce a new secondary objective for survivors.
The game on a high level sucks for killers. All high level survivors loop perfectly, rarely fall for any mindgames, fly through the gens even while injured even if you play fair and know every killer power weakness. That's not fun no matter how you put it. Playing as the killer feels like being a plaything when all survivors know what they're doing.
Could you tell me where did you get that data about kill rates since SBMM?

And the kill rate was 68% at that time.
Which is pretty unbiased.
I dont feel like it changed much.
Yeah, that's just not true...
58% was max and that was Cenobite, which was super boosted because he was new killer.

I don't believe you. No way. Did the devs really say voice chat on 3rd party apps is not cheating?
It was commented by Mods on this forum several times.
@Mandy said:
Well this has gone completely off topic from the OP's intention hasn't it?
And I will emphasis again and this is Official, using Discord etc to play with your friends is not cheating. Which is why it's listed as not being bannable or reportable. Yes the EULA will state the use of 3rd party apps, this is of course a legal requirement on us. We do not list what 3rd party apps, same as any other game doesn't list them. Does using voice interfere with the game files in anyway? No of course it doesn't.
Do we actively promote SWF as part of our game? Yes of course we do
Do we have SWF voice channels of our Official Discord? Yes of course we do
Is using a voice channel to chat with your friends whilst playing together bannable? No of course it isn't
That's pretty much the end of it - no the rules do not need to be changed, some common sense needs to be applied though.
And now, to return to the ACTUAL TOPIC OF THIS THREAD - should BP be awarded to killers when playing against SWF groups?
It doesn't alter game in any way. If those players played in same room, would it be cheating for you?

Plaything blocks up totems for 90 seconds though, and also forces teammates that don't have boons to destroy them.
Problem is that it doesn't stop existing boons and you would have to be really lucky to snuff it, hook someone and spawn plaything over it.
I really don't count Plaything as a counter against boon totems, if anything Plaything got worse because of boon totems.

I definitely agree on Deathslinger’s turning speed while aiming feeling atrociously slow!
I mean, any player that played FPS for some hours can tell it's super bad. That what makes him super clumsy.
It wasn't an issue before, because of quick-scope, so noone actually used ADS.
He is dead for me. He is just clumsy, less unique, worse overall.
They did massive overkill on B tier killer. Wraith nerf wasn't needed too.
If they don't improve, it will actually be good enough reason for me stop playing this game. I have left For Honor and League of Legends for terrible balancing.

Out of curiosity, is he easier to juke than Huntress? Because they both have kind of similar firing mechanics now (i.e. you hold the power button to draw up the weapon which takes a moment, then you can fire instantly with a shot that has a slight lead time.) I’m not talking here about how Deathslinger and Huntress are different at pallets, just asking about dodging them in a relatively open chase. Deathslinger’s shot does have a smaller hit box I think, which could be a factor, but it also travels a bit faster maybe?
Super small projectile vs car projectile.
Also Huntress can flick, Deathslinger can't because of his terrible ADS mechanic that lowers FOV and sensitivity.

How about making perks bannable against SWFs. The Killer could prechoice 2 to 4 perks pro game, depending on the number of SWFs. As an example , you have 3 SWFs+one Random. Three of the four perks would be banned according to a priority list for the SWFs. The SWFs would be informed , that they have to repick their perks in the lobby. The SoloQ can still use everything the game.
With this camping and tunneling would actually become an issue...
How do you think that game will go, when killer knows for 100% there is no DS and BT?
And again, you punish players for playing with friends, that should never be a thing.

And continue to ignore his own mistakes? Sure I guess
Most people ignore their mistakes, doesn't matter side nor game.
You can blame game balance, other players, or mostly teammates. Killers blaming any SWF is not different, but you can't really ignore fact that dead squads will destroy most killers and that just have nothing to do with skill. You still can make mistakes and learn from them, but most players tend to just give up, which is main problem.
You have only little number of players that actually can reflect and notice their mistakes. It's hard to do without actually watching recorded games.

All of that would be good + the ability to mark things such as totems
That is not that easy to share, so that would also help SWF, which I tried to avoid with those changes.
It might be good idea to show total number of totems left tho...

Those who don't care and/or enjoy challenges still will play against swf. Those who don't - dodge. It will fix all this complains about *I don't want to play against swf, nerf swf and so on*. Fix afk, camp and rage quit.
What a great excuse u have. Game isn't made around voice coms. And if u abuse voice coms it's a lame excuse. Don't use your friends as shield for playing dirty.
Oh, no. I am playing mostly killers, but when I play SWF, we are dead squad, so that argument doesn't work for me. I don't really care about that. I really don't think camping, tunneling etc. is an issue, because most survivors just doesn't get it, they should really try to play killers more...
This is just when I think about it as a concept.
-You dare to play with friends and getting new players to the game? Longer queue time for you!
Yeah, that's just not good.

Current balance is made exactly so survivors didn't know situation. If u give survivors free perks it will require killer buffs. It's a circle.
Just reveal swf in every lobby.
How will that fix anything?
SWF will be exactly same. They will still be able to lower their MMR by playing with noobs. They will still completely skip match-making, because they can choose teammates. They still get free info without perks. They will still destroy most weak killers.
You will just punish them with longer queue times, because they want to play with friends?
That should never be a thing and it would be really stupid to punish SWF in any form for playing with friends. Not every SWF is dead squad.

No need in Solo buff. Make it visible who is Swf. If u give free auras to solos, it will require to give even more to killer. It's an endless circle of butchering perks here and there.
And if swf que suddenly will become 3-5min or more then they should take it as downside being swf.
It's usually not hard to guess who is SWF already.
I never watch lobby so I don't really care.
You don't need to buff soloQ much, but I think there is need to that. You just can't do any changes to survivors, because it would destroy soloQ even more. You need to get gap between soloQ and SWF smaller, if you wanna do any changes.
-Passive Kindred (without killer part) would help a lot, so you don't have 0 or multiple survivors running for a hook and wasting time.
-Show whenever is someone in chase -> just make everyone obsession style and actual obsession will be highlighted in red instead white.
-chat wheel would be nice too imo
Those changes doesn't really buff survivors that much and it will not affect SWF, because those things are easy to share for them. Killers don't need buff overall. Only change I would do is buff base regression to 150% and nerf ruin to same amount.
Otherwise just buff bad perks and weak killers to make it more interesting in high MMR.
-
Not really. Problem is that you have SWF stacked in just above avarage MMR, because it's just easier.
How I would fix it:
Buff soloQ, so they have chance to get there. Just give them info that is easily shared by SWF
Make SWF MMR not based on avarage, but based on highest MMR in a group.

Right...because the killers can use their powerfull superhuman bodies to stomp those measly totems and destroy them...oh wait, they cant, they just gently caress them to snuff them out one time unlike hexes wich get destroyed and taken out of the game for good.
Quite honestly i doubt the mental capacity of people when they say "do bones" and i just asume imediatly they are trolling and have nothing relevant to add to the topic at hand, that or they dont even have an idea of what they are saying and just repeat what they se on the forums over and over.

Survivor has always been way less stressful, there just so much more downtime. With killer you are constantly pressing (unless the survivor team is really bad).
SWFs are definitely OP, but I don't feel like I run into them very often. The boon totem situation will need to be addressed, though. SBMM seems to be really hit or miss, though. I've gone against teams that wrecked me, but just as (or more) often ran into teams that were awful. Of course I have been using killers I rarely play to learn them, so that may have something to do with it.
Only way I could have fun was actually changing killers a lot. I always play with 1 killer, hit MMR where I don't wanna be, so change killer.
It's kinda funny to see how big difference you can get just by playing different killer.
Also lowering MMR is a thing, which I really don't blame anyone for using it.
-
Yeah, I used to be like over 90% killer main, but since SBMM, nerfs to my mains (Deathslinger and Wraith), Boon totem, I just usually do only challenges on killers.
Survivors are just more fun and way less stressful right now.
-
Nah, Propnight is better :D

It's kinda useless, you don't know that you are going to face boon totems. It's useless if they don't and they can always just cleanse your totem and find dull for boon...

Oh come on, not this again. Killers tunnel regardless. Everytime when something on the Killers side is nerfed or when Survivors get something good (which happened exactly once since David King was released before Boons and was MoM) Killers go "Thats why we tunnel" or "Killers will have to tunnel more".
If you want to tunnel, do so, but dont claim you do it because of Boon-Perks. Killers always tunnel, but stretch themselves a lot to find a justification for it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2606126#Comment_2606126
This would make them super-weak. You would have to buff their effects to insane levels to justify it. Or, make it that the Killer needs more times to snuff it and can be interrupted. Both does not sound good to me.
@Topic:
I totally agree. Shadowstep is also not used anymore from what I have seen, it was only a thing while Circle of Healing was disabled (probably to test out the new mechanic or for the achievement where you have to bless Hexes). Boons are strong, and I have to admit, strong enough to let Survivors change their builds.
But this is good and I would also not say that they are OP. I dont see them often, but when I see them, I always think that if they are nerfed, this person will just replace it with another Meta-Perk and it would be the same build as always. I also did not have any problem to play against them, the only thing what happened was that I had to cleanse 1 Shadow-Step mid-chase, because it was messing me up. A better Killer probably would not have needed that, but this is the only time where I thought it was a bit annoying.
The only change somewhat needed is that Boons only affect the Trial on a horizontal basis, not vertically. E.g. if you have a Boon on the upper floor of The Game that only the upper floor benefits from it and not the lower floor. Because their range is technically doubled on multi-floor Maps or it makes it uncomfortable to snuff out for the Killer on Maps like Asylum if you bless a Totem in the Main Building.
But this is the only thing I would change.
I don't care about what others do and why.
I can talk only for myself and it was rare for me to tunnel before, but I do it against CoH, because I don't see any other way. I have tried, didn't work.

most logical thing anyone can say about the issue.
here my problem which goes along with that, if you aren't playing someone with good map pressure you kind of have to camp someone. you aren't applying any pressure by injuring. which means you see nothing but the same 3-4 killers or you camp the last person/lose in general.
Yeah, I kinda like Trickster, he is really good at camping.

I had a round yesterday where I was forced to tunnel. I played Legion and everyone was injured. Seconds later, 3/4 were completely healed. After the third time, I tunneled Mikaela out and that was effective. All survivors relied on the blessing and when it was completely removed from the game all other survivors were easy targets.
I don't like tunnels because as a survivor I don't want to be tunneled either. But there are moments with these blessings when I see no other way.
Yep, best way to deal with that BS.
Whenever I hear that boon sound, it's tunnel time.

2 in like 40-50 games, but that was soon after nerf, so they probably were just testing and it was their last game :D

I used to be like 90% killer, but since SBMM, nerfs to my main killers (DS, Wraith), then boon totems (CoH is broken), I just don't care and play survivors way more. It's just more fun, less stress.
-
I don't think this is the way, it would be kinda useless.
I think killer has to get option to remove it for good in first place -> destroy that totem, so survivors get punished for not using it correctly and have to think when / where to use it.
Then we can see how good it is and if effect needs nerf too.

I mean, CoH definitely helped avoid PyHead snowballing, but he was in a pretty dire situation period. 1 gen left, no hooks, last gen almost done, and not to be rude but the killer wasn't very good, as he kept missing a lot of shots.
That shows that CoH is a good perk, but OP? I'm not so sure.
If it were me as the killer in that situation I'd pretty much accept my loss and just commit to a survivor for my 1 kill, or maybe 2 if I'm lucky. It's hard to judge how much boons affected the killer's performance without seeing the whole game though.
I play mostly killer, but lot of survivors lately -> mainly because I just don't enjoy killer that much anymore...
CoH is super broken for few reasons:
-Killer can't get rid of it, snuff is just waste of time and not worth leaving gens or losing chase for it
-it has double range on multilayer maps
-it destroys hit&run tactic -> you have to commit to every chase, otherwise you basically lost time
-it destroys 3-gen, unless survivors will not hold W away from gens
-it gives extra perks to other survivors, you have basically 23 perks total whenever boon is active (it's more safe to use 2x CoH from my testing, so 22)
-everyone sees that totem, so know where to go heal and you can also use that as a landmark for SWF
-as long at least 2 heals are done from CoH, you gained time. It gets even better with each heal
-it's just brainless to use, you don't have to think about where / when to use it, because worst think that can happen is you will have to do it again
Best thing is that it just works for your whole team, that is super broken. Try to compare that with Inner Healing and that used to be decent perk imo, but it is just useless compare to CoH.
And survivors are suprised killers tunnel way more, which I think is because of CoH. Well, that is at least reason why I do it way more often than before. I used to love hit&run tactic, but it simly doesn't work against it.

3-genning worked plenty for me. If they wanted to do the gen, they would need to sacrifice people to be downed. Then just make sure every totem in range of the 3 gen remains snuffed and generators regress faster than survivors can progress it.
Is it boring? Sure, but survivors are holding themselves hostage by not letting the killer down survivors. Heck, the only way they could progress a gen is to force the killer to pick up and hook a survivor.
What killer were you?
They should never let you down anyone. Work on gen -> start running asap -> killer hit you once -> heal -> repeat. So you either have endless loop till you finish gen, or killer has to commit and he will lose a gen for it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJOAB6NBcVQ -
My problem is that killer just can't do anything about it.
Snuff is just waste of time, it's not worth leaving gens, or lose chase for it.
It gives basically extra perks to other survivors. So whenever boon is active, survivors have 23 perks total... and range is double on multi-layer maps.
And survivors are suprised killers tunnel more. That's what happens when you are forced to commit on every chase.
I have tried hit&run and it just doesn't work, nor 3-gen.

@Shroompy said:

It is, how ever current base regression speed is 0.25c/second
Ruin being at 200% doubles that, at .5c/seconds
If you increase base regression to "150%" then it would become base regression speed would be 0.375c/second.
150% of 0.375 is 0.5625.
If you would want ruin to be unchanged, it would have to be approximately 133.33% to compensate for the buff (this roughly keeps it at 0.5c/second)
Oh, alright. I was thinking both compare to current.
With change in mind, I would make it 150% base compare to current and 100% ruin
-
@Shroompy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2605189#Comment_2605189
That would be better than current Ruin. As current Ruin gets rid of .5 charges a second, this change would make it regress 0.5625 charges a second.
Isn't current ruin 200%?
I don't know actual numbers, so I just use it as % instead.

They can shun you for it but ultimately they can't do anything about it. So do you use this to your advantage or do you try to play in what is considered "fun" or "fair"?

I've had lots of situations where I can hear it, but because I don't know exactly where it is, I can't take any pressure off injured survivors.
My main issue is, as is, the perk obliterates hit-and-run tactics.
Honestly, It's fine against your average survivors, but against swf's it's just oppressive. Now, I'm not complaining, but I don't think that was the perk's intended use.
It destroys even 3-gen. They can just always run away and heal.

So I tend to play survivor and killer equal. Reading the posts I see a lot of survivors saying it is killer sided and a lot of killers saying it is survivor sided, but I have come to another conclusion.
This is that there are a lot of bad players on DBD at the moment.
This morning I have played killers doing the challenges of the Midnight Grove web, as they are things like break pallets, crush pumpkins and the like, I decided to play killers I don't normally play with only one perk and no addons. I then found that I was getting 4K after 4K, not because I was playing good, because I was not even going for the kills, just hitting and hooking when the chance arouse, I was not going to miss out on BP. I am not the greatest at playing killer, far from it, it was just the survivors was so bad.
I then played survivor to do gens, only to find survivors running around like headless chicken, not doing gens or anything, but getting downed at the slightest whiff of the killer, then running it to killer.
These are the players that say it is killer sided, or the poor survivors that are teamed up with them.
Then I have played games as a survivor where the killer is so easy to dupe, watching them miss attacks. These are the killers that say it is survivor sided.
Low MMR -> Killer sided
Avarage MMR -> balanced, but depends on killer
High MMR -> Survivor sided, unless you play top 3 killers
Tournament level -> Survivor sided, always.

People play them a lot because they're new.
Once that dies down they won't be that popular.. people will go back to their old meta perks.. heck they're already not as popular as they were. and they've been out for a week.
One thing that makes them less OP is the fact it takes ages to set up, and the killer can undo it in half a second.
I find them annoying when playing either side, honestly.. For my type of gameplay, I think Shadow Step is worse.. I don't care if they can self care in that corner, as long as I can still see scratchmarks and auras.
They are not type of perk you want to stack. CoH should be max 2 used.
16 seconds of 1 survivor isn't much. You can get snowball a lot whenever someone heals because of it.
Killer has to leave gens or lose chase for it and he just can't afford it against decent survivors.

If it is easy to snuff it for a killer, then you are just using wrong spawn...

You keep a player from actually participating in the trial. Killers have MORE than enough advantages so if you have to rely on such a cheap tactic like tunneling and camping then how good a killer player could you be. Everytime survivors get anything new there are always complaints. Killers are faster than survivors, can slow survivors, instant down survivors, speed themselves up even faster than their standard speed and I haven't mentioned perks. Survivors click flashlights and t-bag so clearly survivors are op.
You, this told me enough to know there is no point in telling you anything...
You believe that survivors are weaker than killers, I don't.
You think CoH is good for the game, I don't.
You think that this makes me bad killer, I think you are just bad survivor.

The hit and run strat got kill by the inteoduction to boon perk and with the nerf to key more survivor brimg medkit every game this mean killer need to commit to the chase and tunnel a survivor out of the game asap for them to have a chance
3-gen is also way worse against CoH.

But it's a "strategy".
Well, it is by definition of strategy.
That doesn't change, just because you don't like it.
