Hahahaha. "More then enough advantages" Sure guy, sure
I understand the edge survivors have on comms and I agree it's unfair. As far as the mechanics of the game that give killers an advantage, I've already mentioned those and didn't mention them all. You must be new to the game or have not seen what this game was before.
Killers have it far easier than they did back then. If you can't get kills with those advantages then that's on you.
I made my point so there is no reason to keep arguing with those who don't realize that killers do hold an advantage over survivors.

Well, it is by definition of strategy.
That doesn't change, just because you don't like it.
You keep a player from actually participating in the trial. Killers have MORE than enough advantages so if you have to rely on such a cheap tactic like tunneling and camping then how good a killer player could you be. Everytime survivors get anything new there are always complaints. Killers are faster than survivors, can slow survivors, instant down survivors, speed themselves up even faster than their standard speed and I haven't mentioned perks. Survivors click flashlights and t-bag so clearly survivors are op.

Depends on team, depends on killer.
Is it possible to win without it? Yes, some games. Can you win every game like that? No
Cool-down does nothing, unless it's really big like 2 minutes. It's not like you run there asap to use it again, there is no need for that.
You could just use 2 players with CoH and they will keep 1 always active.
In my suggestion I recommended that it's a shared cooldown between all survivors having boon perks. I'm not sure on the cooldown time I agree it should last a bit, something like 20 seconds wouldn't cut it.

All day today playing as Mikaela i have been camped and tunneled EVERY SINGLE GAME! Like idk what yal killers have against mikaela like really...is it boons??? or what and even a felix player i was playing with knew i was getting tunneled because he even took a hit for me, btw its a camping tunneling Huntress....you see all these other survivors running around me and you still come for me like im not understanding killers hate for Mikaela like #########, and the felix that helped me even disconnected because after i died Huntress started tunneling him. This needs to stop honestly
But it's a "strategy".

Yes, it is, let's not underestimate.
This one perk gives everyone 2 perks, so you have 23 perks total whenever boon is active. That's not broken?
Snuff is pointless to do, just waste of time.
Boon totem completely denies hit&run and 3-gen strategy.
So best option is just tunnel... enjoy
I had suggested a cooldown after a killer snuffs out the totem. You mentioned tunneling as a "strategy". Tunneling is never a strategy and if it's relied on then the killer is terrible. I've seen many experienced killers destroy teams without resorting to those tactics.

That's your story and I'm sure you're sticking to it.

No it's not op, let's not exaggerate.

Sorry guys, but i need to get this out
Last night, i had a few killer matches where survivors were just complete jerks. They go out of there way to pester the killer as much as they can and mock the killer afterwards for not doing a good enough job.
I messaged one of the survivors, not angry, just to say my part of it. We ended the conversation calmly, but apparently they told one of their friends about it and that guys friend, who wasn't even IN THE MATCH, felt the sudden need to message me out of no-where and trash talk me for a performance they didn't even see!
He went on to say things such as 'You're A**' and 'its not my fault you're A**'. Then worst of all, he went on to say inappropriate things about my mother!
I mean, what forced a guy to go out of his way just to message someone to bring them down, even when they're WEREN'T there?! What is it about playing Survivors that bring out to worst in people?
And why do Survivors think playing a certain character makes them pros? "Oh look at me, i'm Nea with pink hair and neon clothing. I'm practically untouchable and the match will be a definite win!". The character you play as doesn't change your chances of winning or losing, the perks you use do, but the character doesn't.
The lack of disrespect brings me down some times, Survivors get massive egos and gloat harshly when the killer fails. Survivors mains need to stop and think of this the next time why want to bully killers. "Would i like it if they did that to me when i'm killer?".
I'm sorry guys, i've just been keeping this in for a while and i needed to get it out. I don't mean to sound mean or harsh, but last nights message attack left me bothered. Again, sorry to all of you, and have a good day
Please don't judge us all. I for one don't taunt the killer but there are killers that do taunt. Why can't we just play the game?
-
I keep asking for and wanting this mode.
-
This is a 4v1 game so the 4 should equal the 1, right? If 4 boons are up then they will cover most of the map. When the killer has a hex up it covers all of the map. The hex effect is felt by all the survivors but the boons effects are felt whenever the survivors are around it's radius. I keep seeing the argument of "well the killer should be able to destroy it", no. Since each boon only covers a part of the map it isn't subject to the same counterplay of a hex so that argument makes no sense. Both hex and boons have different levels of strength to them. Instead of outright destroying the boon totems, once a killer has snuffed out a boon there should be a cooldown before another boon can be blessed. I also think that should be felt by ALL of the survivors running boon perks. If a killer snuffs out a boon totem then all the survivors have there boon perks on cooldown for a time.
Most of the arguments I see on these forums are so pointless. People talk about the 4v1 is the way the game works but then when the concept is put into the game the response is "this is unfair and op".

Well your the rarity in this forum.
The fact you admit nurse is a fundamentally broken killer already puts you in a higher tier than the majority here.
However, my point about killer tribalism is on point in how this forum operates. As you would well know with your statements.
All you have to do is post some variant on the 'poor killer' meme and the sheep will just largely nod their heads in unison.
Agreed. If anyone says anything positive about survivor then the killer mains get angry and group up together.

Again, this SBMM doesn't make sense in Dead by Daylight. In every match I face survivors with more than 3000 hours of gameplay. If it was only 1 or 2 survivors, fine, but always 4? They all seem to play like they're in a world's final cup. I've never had fun as a killer since implemention of the SBMM because for some reason you guys think I'm a god killer.
It's not fun and this isn't a casual game anymore. I come home from work tired and I want to have fun on the DBD and not be forced to play like a streamer who dedicates his life to it.
It's the opposite for me as a survivor but I completely understand you from the work aspect.

You're totally distorting what i say...
First i've never said that i needed to win to have fun and it's quite the contrary. When i play huntress i'm not seeking for 4k but for great shots. When i play killer in general i just like to have a good chase and juke survivors, that's what make me have fun.
And yes boons are making the game unfun. I don't want to break their OP totems every 15sec because they have no cool down on it.
I wasn't trying to distort anything. You made a vague comment that led me to believe something. I don't know what makes the game fun for you based on your response to me but will agree on the cooldowns.

I'm not playing the game to get bloodpoints dude. I'm playing the game to have fun.
If you're not having fun then give it a break. I still don't understand all of this you have to win to have fun mentality. You have a problem with boons but in my experience boons are a massive waste of time. Also I always get teammates who NOW want to cleanse totems when before this update no one did that. It's not boons that are making the game unfun for you, it's comms.

4 Shadow step and 2 circle of healing. How am i even suppose to play against that ??!
I already hear the survivor only say: "Just break them" or "It's not OP because it takes a long time to boon the totem". LOL
I couldn't see their scratch marks because their totem covered all the map and when i broke them i heard that thunder sound 30sec later that told me that the totem was up again. It's literally uncounterable.
So i propose many things to nerf those boon perks:
- A cooldown of 80sec when a survivor boon a totem AND when the killer break a totem.
- Being able to apply only 1 boon to a totem (so only shadow step or CoH)
- Reduce the totem's range to 20 meters
Or just a simple nerf : that the killer break the totem when unboon the totem
In any case, this as to be fixed !
You ended up with almost 30,000 bps...
Why are you upset?

Why? Nevermind, no thanks.

Killers like you who have no idea of the history of this game should educate themselves before mouthing off.
I agree with all of that.
I've seen what the game was like in the earlier days and that was 1000 times survivor sided. Now the pendulum swung to the killer side. The weird part is that no one actually realizes it.
Why do the devs always favor one side then favor the other but never find a spot in middle?

@Wedeguy said:
So, I keep seeing the same old "Do something about camping and tunneling" or "Gen speeds are too crazy" etc etc.
These posts are creating many pointless discussions that reach 2+ pages and would never reach any concluson. why?
Because this game works as a cycle of optimal and boring gameplay, the cycle goes like this:
The killer loads into the match, if he plays high MMR he knows that gens are gonna get done quick. if he cares about securing a kill instead of flipping a coin which would determine if the survivors will do gens fast or not, he will decide to tunnel and camp from the get go in order to avoid the high chance of this group just doing gens as almost every high MMR game.
From the other side, survivors load into the same match and they know that many killers are now tunneling from the get go, so they go and do gens really fast and try to use many second chance perks to delay the first sacrifice of the match as much as possible.
Now, why your posts are useless?
If BHVR are gonna fix somehow the tunneling/camping issue, doing 5 gens really fast will be an abusable thing by survivors that now can use it in order to crash any killer, they don't have to play nice with him.
If they're gonna fix the gen speed problem and make gens take longer somehow, they're gonna make tunneling and camping abusable and any killer knows that now he will guarantee even a 4k pretty easily cause gens get longer, if he just tunnels from the get go.
Conclusion.
In order to fix both the issues of both sides, without breaking the game for people who wouldn't play nice anyway, they must do an overhaul of the WHOLE GAME. they're not going to do that, the game is successful and they're not just going to bust their asses in order to change 2 huge mechanics, because they must change both of them altogether, not just one.
Stop with your crying posts, this is the game. play how you want and if you don't like it play another game that is more fair for both sides I guess.
P.S - Dead hard is okay now, It was so annoying to be exhausted on the ground against certain killers more than others(Looking at you, blight), making you think "why did I even bring this perk from the start if it was rendered useless?".
TL;DR: Nerfing one big complain of one side will make it abusable for the other side, while nerfing both aspects would mean changing the whole game from the core of it, which BHVR will never do.
So glad I'm not the only one who understands this. The mechanics of this game are too exploitable. In order to fix the game they would have to rebuild the game from the ground up. They avoid doing that and give the game bandaid fixes hoping to fix things but they never work.
-
I've been wanting this in the game for TOO long.
-
Doesn't anyone on this forum ever get tired of complaining? Killers complain, survivors complain....who cares. There is no reason to take this game this seriously.
If they wanted to fix things they could make custom games be actually customizable. With that players can play HOWEVER they want. Don't like pallets? Remove them. Don't like killer speeds? Slow them down. Don't like certain perks? Remove them from the trial.
I really feel like this would mitigate a lot of the frustrations players have. If something goes wrong on your pvp trial, go to a custom game, customize the game the way you want it, play with some friends or offline bots. You can't please every single player but with a custom game being that customizable, you could probably please most. This game will never be balance but at least you could still make it a fun experience. Devs can devote more time to adding to customization options rather than trying to please everyone only to fail pleasing anyone.
-
More than half the posts on this forum are from killer players complaining. This is not an insult but just an observation.
-
So if survivors work on their objective which is gens then it's "gen rushing" and when survivors run from the killer (which is the only thing they can really do) it's the "hold w meta". Which both are considered unfair to killers...
Not looking down at anyone but I'm failing to see the logic here.

The problem isn't the 4 working together the problem is the strength of when the 4 work together. The sum of the 4 is greater than their individual potential. A coordinated team has no weak point to explore. Even if individually they are weak in chases if they are coordinated they can do the gens and saves and killer will still feel overwhelmed. Teamplay trumps skill in low to mid levels and skilled teamplay is unbeatable. Best you get is a camp/tunnel kill and hope you get a second survivor before they leave. It's why the 2 escape 2 die mentality existes. Killer is already supposed to fail half of the objective. You can say oh but 2 survivors failed 100% of their objective, which is Escaping, that's 50% more of a failure than killer's objective, and technically you're right but you helped make sure 2 escaped while killer actually failed to kill/sacrifice 50% of the survivors. Your efforts saved someone while killer is a solo unit he either succeeds or fails and it's all on him.
I'll gladly Sacrifice myself if i'm on death hook so someone else doesn't get killed on first or second Hook, so someone can use DS if they get tunneled, so someone can get time to use Unbreakable, etc. Getting Sacrificed doesn't mean you didn't play as a Team or that you aren't a good Survivor. But thx to MMR getting Sacrificed to save someone means killer was better in the 1v1 against you thereofre you lose MMR while killer gains MMR vs if i escaped i'd win the 1v1 and i'd get MMR instead. Since the N-SBMM system doesn't really reflect skill and BHVR admited that this means being a good teamate is useless, Self Preservation at all costs matters more, if you care about MMR.
The MMR in it's current design is terrible. I've been in games where I've done 3 gens alone then went on to run the killer long enough for my team to complete the last 2 gens only to be caught, hooked and left for dead while my teammates escaped. In the MMR's design they were good players and I wasn't so their MMR increases while mine decreases.
-
As you said there would need to be tweaks to the game but this would help killers since gens are a problem for killers. With no gens and add a new objective, it could work.
This idea gives an equal opportunities for victories on both sides. Camping can be fixed by adding a mechanic to ensure it doesn't happen.
The idea could work.

Should killer speed be nerfed to maybe 4.2 or 4.3, especially on killers with one hit down abilities or long lunge attacks?
I know survivors run at 4, and with all the new range attacks killers, one hit downs, Noed, etc., I thought maybe devs should take another look at killer speeds. Thoughts?
This and would also help chases last longer and could help killer mains develop the much needed skill to compete when they do reach red ranks.
I'd be ok with it but then you'd need to buff killers in some way. You'd need to rework maps again so that infinites can't occur. Maps are designed for current killer speeds.
There would need to be a lot that would need to be changed for that to actually work. So I very seriously doubt that it would happen. I would rework how gens are completed before a change like that.
Honestly BHVR would just create a perk that would increase survivor speed to "fix" that issue instead of changing things. We all know they love "fixing" things with perks.

Running to the exit gate and pressing your ability button isn't getting "destroyed." There was no outplayed loop. There was no mind game win. There was no read of decision making. It was just them checking the exit gate and pressing a button that takes me from full health state to dying state. No killer should have this much power the entire match. The things some people consider balanced here are very strange to me.
You've made your point a number of times and you shouldn't have to defend it. You're entitled to your opinion, nothing wrong with that. Constantly having to defend it will probably upset you if it hasn't already. I would like to have Bubba tweaked too but I wouldn't change much about him.

@TragicSolitude said:
Yes, they're both based on the same principle of rushing through your objective for the highest chance of winning. The problem people have is that neither tactic is very fun, not even for the side doing it. As a survivor, rushing through gens and barely seeing the killer isn't fun, and it's also not fun as killer to have nearly no chance to participate because the game ends so quickly.
Why is the game designed so that the best chance of winning is to deny the other side a chance to participate? Why is this game designed in such a way that it's not fun to play to win?
The problem on the forums is that people tend to blame the other side for using these tactics rather than blaming the game's design for encouraging these tactics. Players adapt to do what they've learned is required to win, so blaming them and shouting for them to be punished is just blind animosity which is unfortunately pretty common here.
Well said and true. As time went on with dbd the meta became boring, quick gameplay removing much of the survivor vs killer interactions.

I see a lot of complaining on here about how awful and difficult it is to play killer, how unfair the game is, yet most of you are killer mains. So why is that?
I played killer only for a long time and it was just too easy. After that initial learning of the game, I never had to get better or develop new skill so I switched to survivor. I also like the teamwork aspect. So, why do you continue to play killer if it’s so bad and makes you angry?
I usually agree with the survivor points you bring up but this isn't really a fair question. I say this because killer players can say...
"If survivor is so hard and unbalanced, why do you play it?"
Which someone already did and it makes a fair point.

He's just kind of another No Loops For You killer, which are usually pretty boring to play against because the counterplay is running away ASAP. At least with Huntress, if you can predict her throw and juke it, she's still a slow killer overall so she can't just be on you right away. Nemesis is standard speed and any jukes you try to do just give him the time he needs to catch up to you. And zombies are frustrating because they are RNG. (I don't mind if he herds me towards one during chase, I think that's more fun honestly. But when they're just arbitrarily There it's just annoying and random.) Maybe he'll be more fun to play against eventually but right now he just feels cheap at loops which is like.. u know... the main fun part of survivor...
The "three hits to down" argument is a little weak to me. At -most-, you have to land eight total hits extra, and then that never matters again. (Once for each survivor by default, and then once for each potential vaccine. Can be less if survivors don't care, or if zombies get hits.) If vaccines were infinite and respawned as plague fountains do, then yeah, that would be really annoying. And that's only for M2. Can always use the m2 zoning to land a punch. All that said, I feel like the vaccine mechanic is half-baked AF and feels tacked on.
Your arguments have good points to them and I agree.

It's so funny to me how defensive a lot of people get in this forum when it's anything related to a killer being unfun. Everyone comes to the thread with tips on how to outplay by holding W or saying how weak he is stopping gens. Like cmon man, nobody cares about that, OP is not complaining that Nemesis is overpowered, OP is complaining that it is UNFUN being chased (yes, the main reason people play this game, the killer-survivor interaction) by this killer. Do not come in this thread, mention his 3-hit down first chase with each survivor, and think you're making a solid argument because you can extend a chase by just holding W. NOBODY LIKES JUST HOLDING W AND RUNNING STRAIGHT!
The 0.35 windup time on his whip is many times faster than Huntress or Pyramid head and boils down his playstyle into a situation where you just lose as a survivor and have zero input in the chase. You hug the loop until he gets close enough to raise his whip, you either drop the pallet and you get hit through it, or you don't drop it and he cancels and M1's you. This brainless chase repeats for windows as well, you can try to fake the window and get m1'd by him, or you can vault it and get whipped. But hey you can also pre-drop the pallet early before you get whipped, and have him zone you around the dropped loop (unless its a god pallet) until he can break the pallet instantly from any side he wants.
This is all that OP wanted to say, that it's just plain unfun. I've played many many matches against him, tried many tactics on loops, played against super sweaty tournament-practicing nemesis players and babies alike, and if they learned to abuse this playstyle it just becomes inevitable that you hold shift-W and don't try to loop anything and hope you run him away from any gens, or get to a super safe pallet you can pre-drop.
I agree with your points. Many confuse unfun with op.

Nemesis needs adjustments in some areas and he'll be better to play and play against.

ok so nemesis needs one change and its the cooldown between taking the tentacle and using it.İt just takes 0.5 secs to use the tentacle. For example pyramid head has to ike put his sword down to use his m1.But nemesis dont have something like that.He pulls out and bam easy window or pallet hit.Survivors dont even get a chance to finish the vault.Long story short they need to add a cooldown between pulling out the tentacle and using. And no one can say that its not broken.
Nemesis isn't fun to play against. The basic design he has needs work.

Its not a us vs them discussion, im simply using their logic against them. Ok so tunneling ruins the fun for 1 survivor but when the killer has to watch 4 survivors run out of the exit gate before they teabag 100 times its fun for the killer right? No one but the survivor team is stopping the person being tunneling from having fun, since they can take the heat off of the weak link. So when camped and tunneled you blame the killer for being "bad" instead of looking at what led you to being put on the hook in the first place....I'm kinda sick of the people that say "well i dont do it because ect.", well everyone can't be like you and some people might find enjoyment in killing unapologetically. I don't care if I 4k every game, what i do care about is playing a game where i feel like i have a chance. If survivors decided to speedrun escaping to the exit gate instead of the usual goofing off, then im denied chances to have a fair game.
So gen rushing survivors are just bad at survivor.
"Ok so tunneling ruins the fun for 1 survivor but when the killer has to watch 4 survivors run out of the exit gate before they teabag 100 times its fun for the killer right?"
I never said that was fun. If they are all at the gate teabagging then the game is over and that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about during the trial.
"So when camped and tunneled you blame the killer for being "bad" instead of looking at what led you to being put on the hook in the first place....I'm kinda sick of the people that say "well i dont do it because ect.", well everyone can't be like you and some people might find enjoyment in killing unapologetically."
If a killer is good at mind gaming and shutting down the loop then they down survivors quickly. The killer then has more time to move on to the next survivor. If that one survivor is the weak link then you can always down them later. If I get downed by a killer then I got downed and it's on me. Now if I get tunneled off hook then what defenses do I have? More often than not the killer will hook you around the area that the chase ended and also likely that the resources there might have already been used. I play for fun and being tunneled isn't fun but you go ahead and play the game how you want.
"I don't care if I 4k every game, what i do care about is playing a game where i feel like i have a chance."
That's what all...most players want. I'm not denying there being bully squads and depip teams out there but players deserve a chance at the game. My personal feel is that tunneling and "gen rushing" are not the same thing.
Some topics I agree with survivor side and some on killer side. On this specific topic I don't agree with the killer side of things but on something like keys, that's another matter.

On the flip side, What is Tunneling?
Killers have one objective and when they complete the objective, its unfair?
Killing survivors is not an issue and preventing killers from doing that isn't a good idea...
This is going to be another us vs them....fun....
When a killer tunnels they ruin the fun for that survivor. When a team "gen rushes" they are doing the objective. The killer is going to be there all game long so no one is stopping the killer from having fun.
When I get tunneled and face camped I look at it as the killer acknowledging they are terrible at killer. I've seen killers that don't resort to tunneling or face camping that are very effective. They know how to mind game loops and play to their killer's strengths. When I play killer I don't tunnel or camp because I know how that feels. Too many killer players feel that if they don't 4k then it was a bad game. I don't 4k all the time and I have fun with the game.
So tunneling killers are just bad at killers.

Agreed 100%. The problem is spawn points proven by their new perk Lethal Pursuer. Scott pointed this out before release and every game I ran it there was only 1 game where 2 survivors spawned together. Spawn points are giving free pressure in 2-4 different locations right from the start. That''s the problem not gen times you are right as a whole I just filled in the blanks for you.
I don't like using youtubers when defending my viewpoint because it depends on the youtuber, right? Ohtofu says that killers just need to be good at applying pressure. Yes maybe the first two gens might fast but a good killer can snowball pressure. I agree with him but it doesn't make that fact.
Good to see someone who knows that the phrase "gen rushing" doesn't make sense. All in all we agree on something which is crazy for these forums. :)

And i am blaming devs already? I am talking one of the game problems. Devs have to fix this. I am not blaming survivors because they are doing generators.
Agreed. Devs have a lot to fix in this game.

The speeds are not an issue and slowing them down would not be a good idea. Blame the devs.

Survivors should spawn on the hook tbh
I see you read my thread on suggestions for killer buffs.

So long as you don't reduce gen times, yeah, I can see some non-Killer visible sub-objectives. (Reason for not reducing the gen times is the gens/Hooks act as a meeting point for most Survivor/Killer interaction. These sub-objectives should be viewed as part of Survivor evasion gameplay)
Such as: Corrupt intervention as basekit. 3 gens start missing a part, each needing a part to be found and installed to begin repair. (Corrupt intervention is changed to only block these gens for the same duration, this means at least one part needs to be installed)
NOED basekit: Need to figure out a way where it doesn't just auto-apply once all 5 gens are done, needing Killer input. But lets Survivors ignore Dull Totems at their own peril.
Hatch can be opened in match without the requirement of Last Survivor or bringing in a key.
I don't know about NOED basekit but I would like to see the idea of hex totems having their own slot. Survivors destroying hex totems decreases the strength of a hex perk. This gives survivors another objective they know they have to do instead of not knowing they have to. Survivors having this second objective would give killers some more time and they don't feel "gen rushed".
