There really isn’t anything upcoming/new with the Pennywise Character so they really can take his character into to a different direction.
Then that wouldn't be Pennywise, that would be another character that takes up the Pennywise name.
Which is what happened with Ghostface.
I would be okay with that, I just wouldn't be okay with Pennywise as is to join DBD.

That honestly sounds dumb and stupid but it's still a better plot than them just "working together" out of nowhere.
IT's basically Thanos in the Silver Age.

Didn’t Demogorgon kinda of broke the Lore Rule?
Demogorgon is a beast from another dimension, not a space entity whose rival is a Space Turtle that is the creator of the universe.
-
I don't know about that.
I don't remember all the details of IT, but last I remembered Pennywise is far FAR stronger than the Entity. Why wouldn't it just devour her instead of making a deal?
I honestly just don't want Pennywise to be added into the game unless they find an actual logical reason that makes sense inside the lore of the game. Other than just "Making a deal", which again won't happen.
I'm a writer myself and I am struggling to figure out a connection these two can have without one overpowering the other or Deus Ex Machinaing a situation out of thin air.
-
I don't want him purely because it would break DBD's lore. I know a lot of people don't care, but I do, so much so that I hate even a screenshot of leaked cutscenes from the current Tomes.
-
This was in DBD Mobile, so yes, it should be a tip on the base game.

Not sure about consoles, but steam will sometimes give refunds for this kind of thing. The EULA isn't legally binding, guys.
Assuming you purchased the game within 2 weeks prior to getting a refund.
They won't be issuing refunds for this because DBD is a Live Service.

This may be way off topic, but how do you have all the icons "cartoon-ized?" Is that some kind of modification? I watch many streamers and what not (N00b3 and Monto mostly) and yet I see sometimes they have these animated icons (N00b3 more than anyone) I figured if it's some kind of mod that I myself could get in trouble for using it.
Look up tutorials on how to add custom icon packs to DBD.

What I find interesting about this is the mentality that because you had one sweaty SWF match, that you felt the best solution was to go ham on the next team of people who had no knowledge or contribution to your previous angst whatsoever. And this is a problem. Killers get a SWAT team and lose, then load up every iri add-on and abusive play style tactic they can on the next match, except the next match is probably just a random group of solos trying to have a fun match after a long day of work (I am usually in this match 😑).
It's also interesting the admission that there is retribution in being Killer in a match. Either you can pursue and the offender of your delicate sensibilities and kill them OR you use this tactic and strap on everything in your arsenal to go balls deep on the next team and it makes you feel better. However, what retribution do survivors have against the guy that goes balls deep on them because of SOME OTHER team they don't even know? Nothing. They have nothing in a match they can do. Instead, they unload in post-game lobby and then Killers come here and cry about how toxic survivors are in chat - when really, they are just venting everything Killers had the opportunity to vent by literally murdering them.
So yes, it's great you have a means to relieve your in game stress, because no one wants you to go postal, but keep in mind your opposing team doesn't have that luxury. So next time you wonder why people are explosive in post-game or why survivors can't "accept the loss"...know that stress and frustration goes both ways in this game, and survivors don't have a mori outlet. ;)
Actually, I do have a "Mori Outlet" for Survivor.
I bring Decisive Strike, Quick & Quiet, Head-On and Iron Will.
Let the Killer grab me from the Locker, stun then, go back in the Locker, then stun them with Head-On. :D
That always feels satisfying no matter how much times I do it.
Though it guarantees I get facecamped next time I get hooked

Killers shouldnt be able to see usernames since the only thing it does is promote toxicity yet killer mains will still try to defend it
Side question: But is it really such an issue that you meet up with the same Survivors over and over again as Killer? Because I personally have only ever met the same player once in recent weeks, I haven't been able to meet up with the same Survivors back to back. At least here in the WA Region.
Sure, some people have a "List", but they aren't really a majority. Most of your games you will still find Killers who don't know you, and probably won't remember you even if you two meet each other again.
Personally, I would prefer to go with Survivors being able to see the Killer's username since at least if you suspect someone has a "Hit" on you, you can dodge and matchmaking will fill up that lobby shortly after you leave.
I personally prefer to know who I am up against, sure I haven't been able to use that knowledge in recent weeks, but it usually leads to some funny conversations like this:
(For context, I saw a Survivor with the same username as the one I found a couple matches ago, so I decided to play with the exact same build I faced against them just for fun. It then lead to this weirdly wholesome exchange.)
(Yes I used Mother-Daughter Ring and Yakuyoke Amulet, I wanted to also guarantee I get kills that game.)
(And Yes, I will keep my promise if I see their name again.)

Never ever are the fake pallets stronger than the snares.
Fake pallets are kind of map reliant.
They have much more counterplay than snares have thus making them far less consistent.
I guess we disagree then because I find myself having more issues with Pallets than Snares whenever I face him. Though that might just be a "Me" thing. It doesn't even matter what map it is, I find myself getting downed more often if he uses Pallets.

Youre the first person ive ever seen say that. I prefer them too, but they require set up and dont do much till mid game, unless youre a little lucky of course
I guess I dislike facing Pallet Freddy because my attention level is almost never on which pallets have been used or not, or which pallets are fake or not, it's usually just on generators, teammates and the Killer, paying attention to how they play, etc etc.
Most of the time, I can just rush through snares or abandon a loop while he is on the other side snaring the whole place. His snares are such a non-issue for me that I absolutely WANT to face him with snares whenever I put on my Object of Obsession Build. But with Pallets? It's just burrrrrghhh
I don't know, maybe I am just incredibly unlucky but I find myself getting downed more often with Pallet Freddy than Snare Freddy.

AT MOST make his dream pallets base and snares add ons, i can see that since snares are stronger.
God no, Snares are by far weaker than Pallets. I don't want to face a Freddy with Pallets all the time, I'd rather face him purely with Snares.

I think the only Killer that qualifies as actually Boring is Legion. Because unless you are the one that is chased, if he uses his power, he just injures you and wastes your time Mending.
Keep in mind, what I consider Boring is when a Killer's power wastes my time, isn't dangerous, and also doesn't make me think during a chase.
Every other Killer you still have interactivity with, even the ones that are controversial:
- Deathslinger - Bait him same way you bait Huntress, except successful baits tend to cause him to lose much more than just having to wind up for their next hatchet throw. Use Windows and Doors to your advantage, bait them to play predictably. His projectile shot is as fast as Huntress' Charged Hatchets, so if you can play against Huntress, you can play against Deathslinger.
- Freddy - Other than staying awake, his snares really are not as strong as some people make it out to be. You can either avoid them or bomb rush through it, while forcing a pallet down as well as run to another structure. L & T Walls are his biggest enemy, because they don't have pallets but they both have windows. And you can still fast vault through a snare.
- Spirit - If she starts to stand still, run away in the opposite direction, never vault into her or walk into her, actually NEVER come near a 10 meter radius around her, and when you're out of her LOS, start walking to get rid of your scratch marks. And walk TOWARDS her so she swings and misses behind you. Then start running again. Of course this might not always work, but Spirit is a Killer that forces you to read the Player, not the Killer, meaning you need to predict what they might do based on what they've done a couple of minutes earlier. You need to be unpredictable so she cannot get a read on you.
But personal preference, there is one Killer I dislike almost as much as Legion, and that is the Trapper.
I don't find him fun to go up against, unless they are a potato. Good Trapper Mains knows how to stop a chase before it even begins, and I don't like that, I want to at least have a chance to loop him around a structure but I got unlucky because he trapped that structure ahead of time. By no means does he need a nerf, if anything he needs a buff, but his playstyle is just one I personally cannot enjoy playing against, and that is completely fine.
-
I still think he is a Mid Tier Killer.
Low Mid Tier at that. Mainly because while he is amazing at Snowballing like Oni, stalking takes up way too much time in my opinion, making him rather add-on reliant.
-
Thanks for doing the math.. Those Rare Offerings has been nothing but a bloodpoint sick, it's not even worth running them because of how much they cost :/

Yes, maybe that buff was over the top.
But they shouldn't buff his addons, his base is what needs to be touched. Killers need to be more like Spirit, Oni, Hag, Billy or Myers where they're viable without addons. Being forced to use addons to have a killer be viable (Nurse for example) is bad game design. Devs should be focusing on the base, and making addons either alter the killers game plan (like Myers) or make them a bit stronger, but not oppressive (like Spirit). It's a fine line to hit, of course, but if the devs were to take this approach when buffing/reworking killers (as they did with Doctor) the game will reach balance more smoothly.
Oh of course, I'm not saying they should make Clown add-on dependent. I do think however that his add-ons could be touched upon to provide more interesting play with his bootles other than just to slow the survivor down.

Someone mentioned radius earlier, too. I think a combination of longer duration, slightly larger radius, @Raccoon's idea of adding an after effect and faster reload speed could be the way to go. He'd definitely be unique if he had all 4 of those, but perhaps OP, what do you think about all that added to his base?
I wouldn't say he is OP, because throwing them like I said, is a weird learning curve. It's not like Huntress' Hatchets or Deathslinger's Redeemer. He just chucks it in a way that can make anyone who starts learning how to play him confused as to how it works. Just... YEETS it at them.
That said, I don't think he needs a larger radius. The gas has a big enough radius as long as you throw it in front of the Survivor and not behind or besides them. I also wouldn't want a longer duration as well because I think it's long enough for a Survivor to either abandon a loop or stay in it risking being hit with the slowdown. I also wouldn't want an after effect because that would ruin Clown's add-ons which does give added status effects by being effected by the cloud of gas.
I think what could be done is give him more add-ons that makes his gas more dangerous to walk through, like maybe that smoke effect doesn't clear immediately after you get unhindered, that could be good cause to create mindgames because the player's vision is hindered. I do honestly think Clown just needs a faster reload speed (because that reload is way too long without add-ons) and less of a hinderence for using his power. Like don't give him 100% speed while throwing his gas bottles, but make it so it doesn't feel like you're randomly stopping every time you throw a bottle.

There should be an unofficial "Toxic SWF bully team" registry somewhere that we can go reference when we see the names in Lobby. Be nice to be able to dodge all of those.
No.
That would create the same situation TF2 had with Tacobot.tf.
I really prefer not to have this issue.
-
Yes.
The Emblem System especially on the Wiki can be a bit confusing, but I think as long as you keep farming hits off of Survivors you should be able to get Iridescent Malicious pretty easily, even if they do heal. Also try to make sure to triple hook Survivors, I don't know if that effects that Emblem or not but the Wiki states that everytime the Survivor reaches a new hook state, you get 2 points added towards the Emblem.
-
I've personally not been too effected by the change to losing add-ons as a Survivor.
Usually the add-on I want appears in the next bloodweb, or I just scavenge an item in a chest during the match.
That said, I can understand why it's more frustrating to get add-ons with this change.
Killers do lose their add-ons after each match, but Survivors has way more useless add-ons. Who the heck is going to use the aura revealing add-on on a key when Bond exists?
-
Honestly if I get this map, I try to force a 3-gen. Usually that nets me a win.
If I can't, usually that nets me a loss.

What are you doing to combat bullying?
I love this question, because it is always brought up whenever someone tries to create a call for action. It's like the "Non-Answer" that sounds like a trump card.
I personally cannot stop bullying on a major scale, I'm a random Aussie on the Internet. But the least I can do is curb it in the communities I am in. Asking others to help stopping others encourage this toxic behaviour helps more than you think. Having someone who understands and supports victims does more good than just telling them to suck it up and "grow thicker skin".
Sure, the best way to deal with bullies is to ignore them, especially online. But some people can't help but have those thoughts fester in their heads, because their personalities are hardwired to be more extroverted, to care more about what other people say, to want to be the best version of themselves they could possibly be. You cannot expect everyone to have the same solution, the same reaction to every scenario, every harassment no matter how small. Some people need more care than others, or do those people not count because "They cannot grow thicker skin"?
So being there, and being understanding, and helping them by also encouraging to curb toxic behaviour from the game helps a lot.
-
I usually do because I mostly play Solo and most of my attention aren't on the pallets but more on generators, my teammates and the killers.

If they get bullied into submission they didnt learn the lesson and their parents should step in and help them
You honestly can't expect everyone to learn the same way.
Some people are naturally more sensitive than others, it's easier for them to lose their cool even when they do grow up, preventing it from happening is much better than letting it happen and expect them to learn a lesson.

Because depending on the level of bullying, sometimes they do need to just grow thicker skin. Beating the crap out of people that wanted to bully me in school taught me a valuable lesson, as it does most people ghat fight back. And that lesson is im not a victim and not taking someone elses #########. So yeah, unless were talking very very serious bullying, people do need to grow thicker skin
There is a way to help someone grow thicker skin while being constructive about it. To bully them into submission only further develops mental problems later down the line.

I was just suggesting an idea to help Clown's case and remove the Freddy complaints. Tell me a buff you'd give to Clown then.
Make his reload speed faster and have him have less slowdown while throwing bottles.
Throwing them is already rather confusing enough to learn, since they go on a more pronounced arc unlike Huntress' Hatchets. Making them more like bombs you drop from the air rather than exact projectiles to hit your targets.
His power has way too many drawbacks to be used efficiently in a viable scenario, and sometimes you might have to throw while guessing whether or not Survivors will be on generators. The slowdown is longer than Freddy's snares, so that slowdown shouldn't really be buffed. It's his ability to use that slowdown that needs to be looked at in my opinion.
The devs may disagree with me, and that's fine, they know stuff I don't and if they feel there could be other changes that could be done to Clown, I'm all for it.
-
You know? This is probably why I am glad the devs are the ones balancing the game and not the community.
Removing Freddy's snares just to make Clown more unique is definitely going to set red flags if it ever is implemented into the game.
Because that would mean any killer that has a similar power to any other killer needs to be changed.
I.E Deathslinger & Huntress being able to down you from a distance with their power, Trapper & Hag being able to end chases before it happens with thier traps, Oni & Myers being able to one down by filling up their meter.
Buffing Clown is definitely the way to go, because I'd rather not go down that rabbit hole if we remove Freddy's snares. And I wouldn't want him to have Pallets as base because I Think they are way more dangerous than snaes.

None of Legion's add-ons makes it easier for him to get downs or end chases faster. They're not OP. They make some things more annoying and hinder the survivors in some way like making them Broken for 60 seconds, but they are not by all means OP.

Just move on, this kind of behaviour is so pointless to even discuss and shouldn't be given the time of day. The reason why people think it's such an issue on these forums and Reddit is because everyone keeps talking about it.
Because that toxicity needs to continuously be called out, otherwise we get people like these who breed toxicity on their streams (The person he is talking about is me btw)
His chat was talking about how he is their king and how I was the one being toxic in this situation, do you honestly think that's okay?

I understand not saying GG if you actually didn't have a good game, I know I have had games where I absolutely crushed my opponent (Either as a Survivor or a Killer) and I don't see them replying with a GG.

well, they either needs to get rid of it, or put a limiter on it, because not putting a limiter, and not resetting the stacks everyday, is going to far, that punishment isn't even fair for the quitters, that why people still playing rainbow 6 siege because they have limiters on there ban timer, this game is dying fast is because, 1, they don't like the punishment that keeps on stacking without reset, or 2, they no longer can play the game anymore because they got disconnection so much, they are basically permanently banned over internet problems
The stacks do reset everyday

I'm pretty sure I've 4k'ed multiple times as Clown.
With no add-ons.
Or perks.
At Red Ranks.
Clearly BHVR is wrong, he doesn't need a buff of any kind - he's actually overpowered and the rest of you need to get on my level. /s
Specific performances are not a guideline for balance.
Argue for or against Spirit as you wish, but do so without any fallacious arguments, please.
He does need some buffs, don't get me wrong. But Clown is viable in the right hands.
I'm just saying if you're going to complain about a Killer, you shouldn't say you're completely screwed if she is played by the right player. That's just giving up.
-
If you're experiencing Internet Outages, you probably shouldn't be playing Online Multiplayer Games.
So yes, they should punish you. And the timer should keep increasing.
I honestly think the first penalty isn't harsh enough.
-
I'm pretty sure I've ran a Spirit with Stridor.
Multiple times.
Without Iron Will.
It's not that hard, just learn to play her and you get to understand what it's like to play against her. Because from playing her, you will understand what Survivors who do know how to play against her will usually do. The kind of pathing you would take to the predictable pathing most survivors would take.
-
I'm currently at Tier 40, I didn't even play much this week. I think you just play a lot less than the average playerbase, plus, Level 3 and 4 of the challenges haven't been released yet so you can still snag at least around 10-15 tiers from those two levels alone.

Apparently good killers are unhealthy for the game. Next on the chopping block would be Oni, then Hag, then Billy, then Freddy until it eventually goes to Leatherface needing a nerf because he'll outshine all the other killers even if he isn't changed lmao.
No no, it's not "Good Killers". It's "Boring Killers". That's the word I see getting thrown around a lot more than Overpowered these days.
By definition, every Killer is boring to go up against because all of them have ways that can make things boring for the Survivor.
Billy? Leatherface? One-Downs, all they need to do is just close the gap.
Spirit? Nurse? They ignore loops, forcing you to run through multiple structures and play smarter with LOS blockers.
Freddy? Clown? They slow you down, making it easier to close the gap, with Freddy having the ability to have decent map pressure, and Clown having the ability to screw with a Survivor's POV with his gas.
Myers? Ghostface? Wraith? One has Insta-down, the other two can constantly turn off their terror radius.
Trapper? Hag? Both require traps, and both can stop a chase before it happens. Hag can also jumpscare you and force your camera to screw with your movement.
Doctor? Plague? Legion? They all can hinder the Survivor in some way with their power and effects, Doctor can cause jumpscares to appear on the Survivor's Screen, and create skillchecks that go all over the place, Plague makes it easier for Survivors to reveal their location and can effectively make perks like Iron Will useless because of how loud puking is, and Legion, I don't need to explain.
Huntress? Deathslinger? They both can hit you from far away, with Huntress being able to hit you from across the map if she is good enough.
Pig? She can make short and medium loops unsafe with her ambush.
Demogorgon? His shred can literally deny any agency of safety on the survivor's part if they try to lunge towards a window/pallet. And even then it will still hit sometimes because of how hit detection works in the game.
Oni? He forces a slugging playstyle, a playstyle a lot of people as far as I can tell, find "Boring".
Literally every Killer in the game has a playstyle that, as far as I can tell from this forum, is boring in one way or another. None of them are completely safe from every complaint I've heard coming from various users in this forum.
Some are more frequent than others, but they all definitely have had complaints risen towards them.
This is why, and I hope to god the devs follow this, that "fun" is not an objective reason to balance a game. Because every killer has something that can be boring to go up against with certain players. Some of them counter a Stealthy playstyle, like Plague and Doctor. Some of them counter a Chaser playstyle, like Spirit and Nurse. And some of them are decent at everything, like Pig, Freddy and Demogorgon.
If the Killers are changed to be made "fun" according to what this forum thinks is "Fun", then we wouldn't have a variety of killers to choose from, we would only have 1. A basic M1 Killer.
