Allowing one character to wear a sweater is not adequate compensation for this chapter's release.
I physically cannot get through an entire match of the game before it crashes, and this is definitely a new symptom.
-
That's the point. If Victor screws up a pounce, he's probably gonna get squished.
-
Charlotte and Victor can swap between the active character at any time they please.
What you're exper8encing isn't a bug. It's Victor being Victor.

Oh my god are people actually just taking Victor and running away with him?!
Yes. It was a problem in the PTB, since Charlotte was deprived of her power all match while one schmoe just carried Victor on their back the whole time.
The little rat doesn't even properly block them from using the exit gates.

First killer who can bait his Power?
Billy & Bubba say Hi! Just tap M2 and see the survivors reactions!
I don't feel like that's a bait insomuch as it is a taunt.
Revving and HOLDING it, however...

His comments on OoO were fine. He was actually the one that said if the perk is unfun it should be looked into.
But isn't he also the guy who said that pkayers using OoO rarely escape, so it isn't a problem?

because its so risky it legit never happens you can sit down to 30 nurse, hag and wraith games(90 total) lets say you get at least 1 flashlight in 10 of them for each killer i would bet in every hag flashlight game they would destroy at least one trap. maybe 4 light burns as wraith and i would be shocked if it happened even once as nurse its just inactionable almost all the time. even with wraith it only works if they already know and you are cloaked and they see you. it is just a nonfactor for nurse and hardly anyone even tries wraith but everyone knows to mess with hag's web
I played a few Wraith games the past few days, and anyone with a Flashlight who knew I was coming made an attempt to Lightburn me at every possible opportunity. Frankly, it was kind of annoying how often I had to go around them before trying to uncloak.

slippery meat was so rarely ran that it was basically irrelevant why are you bringing up this stuff anyway? you though slippery meat was a hard counter to trapper?or that flashlights are used to completely cancel wraith's cloak? when you go to burn away hag's traps they light up to show you where they are and near instantly are destroyed using barely any charge thats not comparable to wraith who is bottom tier anyway
And what about Nurse?
She is top tier, and with just a little clickyclicky as she charges a Blink, she gets stunned for 5 seconds. Nobody bothers to do it, but it's possible.
-
Poor Mr. Cote... After his last comment on OoO, and this launch, I'm sure that stream's chat is gonna be... How you would say, "wild".
-
If stealth was actually rewarded and worthwhile to use, maybe Survivors wouldn't have become so god-tier at looping on the whole. There's a reason lockers are usually only used by Dwights and people with something to abuse.
-
The thing with Demo is that he's the first Killer with the ability to bait his Power. He also isn't terribly strong beyond setting up a potent 3-gen or committing to a chase build, so more often than not, he has to rely on you playing yourself to score hits with Shred.

not being able to down with your power is huge its something even clown trapper and wraith don't suffer from.
killers that can be hard countered aren't S tier. hag is hard countered by flashights
Incorrect: Until recently, Slippery Meat assisted with Trapper Traps, and flashies can Lightburn Wraith while he's cloaked, one of two killers who have Lightburn properties.

We're just starting to see what skill-capped PC Blights can do, and holy crap is it terrifying. The ones that use Q and E to turn as well as the mouse...
Wait, you can use Q and E?
I get A and D, but if that's the case, this is news to me!
-
Allow me to elucidate you on the Killers you glossed over.
Wraith: Newbie Wraiths often run NOED, yes, but the skilled ones are the type to be watching you with All Seeing Blood and Waxcombed Clapped around a corner, waiting for you to touch the gen so they can fly around the corner and smack you again after feinting a chase.
Hag: Hags play very defensively, as is her kit, but there are many who just run around teleporting everywhere because they don't understand the art of setting up a Hag web.
Cannibal: Now, don't do all Bubbas injustice, here. For just as many Insidious campers, there are Basement Bubbas, Chase Bubbas, Item Hoarder Bubbas, the list goes on. Bubba is either Insidious, Chase Bubba, or some variant of a meme Bubba, which are becoming increasingly extinct.
Plague: Vommy Mommy. 'Nuff said. Really, though, Plague players I see are either the type who get really sad when their build isn't working because of getting dedicated, or because Plague isn't that strong in the first place.
Oni: I expected more, here. Oni players tend to be tryhard McGees, yes, but there are some Onis who played for the mobility kit. Those guys became Blight Mains. Additionally, Renjiro's Glove has a niche in tracking-oriented builds.
Blight: Blights come in two varieties, with similar features to Nurses. Console Blights are an easy win, since they can't turn fast at all. However, PC Blights range from good to absolutely goddamn terrifying, with little warning and differentiation between the two.

In regards to Kate, I've seen a few types of Kate.
First, the Obsession Kate. Obsession Kates, more often than not, play really safe, because they know they're on the chopping block.
Second, the Sandbagged Kate. Sandbagged Kates are always, somehow, sandbagged by their teammates repeatedly throughout the match. Nea always vaults the window first. Claudette always slams a pallet in her face. David sits on the open side of the pallet and just bodyblocks poor Kate. It's just a THING for these poor girls.
-
They're actually working on grabbing now, as a matter of fact!
The current problem is that grabs, similarly to hits, are registered on the Killer side, and not the Survivor side.
So when the Killer grabs someone, the server does a quick check.
During this check, a Survivor often realizes what's happening and panics, hopping off their current objective in favor of running, which tells the Killer "Nope. No good. Close, but no cigar."
And then you get the stupid stun you get when you go for the grab but just swipe at the air instead.

Gotcha i was hoping it worked with surge because it makes gens regress like when you kick it
Yeah, it doesn't quite work that way, I'm afraid.
Surveillance works well with perks like that, though, as it applies to all regressing generators, rather than ones you kick.
-
Trail of Torment requires you to kick a Generator.
The specific generator you kick will turn yellow to Survivors, letting them know that you were there when you became Undetectable.
-
I would buff Wraith.
At this point, Windstorm Green should be basekit, AT MINIMUM.
Otherwise, all his power does is cloak him.
Not even turn him invisible, but CLOAK him.
-
Pretty much everyone here has said it so far, but if Decisive Strike, Unbreakabill, Adrenaline, Soul Guard, and Borrowed time all play parts in securing your victory, I don't see why a Killer shouldn't invest 2 Totem protection perks to keep his Huntress Lullaby up as long as humanly possible.

The same stuff happens when players are in struggle. I've had it happen many times, they have plenty of time left and they let go just as I reach them for the save.
I think this one is caused by a dissasociation between mind and body where the hookee thinks: "Oh, I'm about to be saved."
And then you run to their other side as they let go, thinking you were there to yoink them straight away.

I'm a killer main and while I agree with others that killer is more stressful I've recently discovered that Bubba is my stress-free killer.
I know survivors like to complain that X killer has no counterplay, but I'm genuinely surprised that I never see those complaints for Bubba. He's easy to use and at a high level of play (no camping/tunnelling) he's kinda busted.
Even Freddy has to put some thought into where he puts his snares. Bubba really just has to press m2 for insta-down.
Yeah, I've kinda noticed that Bubba is the way to go if you want some stress-free experimentation with builds and memes.
His power is efficient enough to carry you if you decide you aren't enjoying the build, even against competent Survivors, his mobility isn't bad at all, and he's also one of the bet chase Killers in the game.
Frankly, I'm surprised nobody complains about him other than the Basement/Insidious Bubba stereotypes.
-
So I see a lot of people mentioning that it's good when I'm already winning, but I actually had games run down to the wire as Wraith, where the final gen had just finished up as I hooked the final Survivor, leaving the Obsession to try and find hatch or something while I hunt them.
I feel like Dying Light truly shines on someone like Bubba, who can get downs incredibly quick, but if you're proficient at chases, it would also work well on someone like Wraith, who is notoriously bad at anything but chases, and even then is middle of the road without addons.
-
@EvilClimax said:
good if you can get many hooks, but bad if it's the only slowdown perk you have: kinda like thana.
I've been running that solely as slowdown on Bubba to incredible effect, and combined with Pop on my Wraith tonight, and somehow Dying Light has carried those matches.
I literally got into several multi-minute chases with a David as Wraith, and the others physically couldn't repair gens and heal fast enough to finish the game.
They literally gave up because the game was forced to a crawl.
Edit: Spelling
-
I had a Spine Chill gamer looping me at an LT wall tonight.
They didn't account for the fact I was Wraith with All-Seeing Blood and Coxcombed Clapper, and could lunge around corners like a freakin' ninja.
Edit: Spelling.
-
Pretty much my reaction in a chase that lasts for hours, like the one I had this last match with a David who looped Killer Shack window into a window on a wall right outside back and forth, was to go: "Jesus #########, finally."
That David died a quick and painful death on the hook as my Dying Light reached its seventh stack, and the other two Survivors gave up.
They gave up. On Wraith running Dying Light.
Frankly, when your best looper goes down after a 3-minute chase that looks like something out of Scooby-Doo, and you can't even get a generator done or heal by that point, I'd probably call it a day, too.
-
I like this change.
It could actually make Remember Me more terrifyig than normal, because let's say you're the last Survivor, and say, Demo's been hunting you through the map for 30 seconds.
EGC is ticking, and you get the get so close, but Demo is right behind you. He pauses, and you complete the gate, but what's this?! Suddenly you have a NEW bar to fill labelled "Remember Me"! Oh NOOO-

Whichever system they had on when you didn't get rainbow ranks every other game is the one that I was referring to
So you mean MMR, where Rank 1 Killers wer getting constantly paired with rank 20 Survivors and vice-versa, because for some reason the system decided that doing so was acceptable.
-
I hope you realize that the old matchmaking system IS in effect.
It's just god-awful.
Which is why they're working on the MMR system.
-
The problem people have comes down to the fact that until you get that down on someone, nobody knows NOED is in effect, and you can turn a 0-1k game into a 4k at the drop of a hat just because Survivors "did their objective".
Meanwhile, the argument for years was "Do bones", and neither side gives any leeway to this day.

Blight is frustrating to play, but he's mobile and can get downs fairly quickly. He also doesn't have his power disabled for 45 seconds minimum if a survivor decides to carry the baby, gremlin, goblin, w/e the frick on their back.
This is true, but like I said, I'm hesitant to count the Twins out until live release and people have had a couple weeks to experiment with the Twins.
They could surprise us yet.
-
In my experience, when I see a Tapp, they're either wearing a brown coat or a white coat, which determines what kind of playstyle they have.
Browncoats are usually the stealthy guys, trying to hide around corners and blend in with walls and stuff.
Whitecoats are more altruistic, and go for risky saves despite not having BT most of the time.
In both cases, they tend to die quickly and painfully.
-
Something I'd just like to remind you guys of:
Back when Blight was coming down the pipeline, everyone said basically the same thing about him that they're saying about the Twins now.
Frankly, I have no idea if the Twins will actually be any good on release, because I don't work at BHVR, but I'm keeping an eye on the Twins because of this general sentiment towards them being weak.
I theorize that there is one specific strategy people have yet to figure out about her, similarly to how Blight was revealed to be almost Nurse-tier strong after people got used to him.
-
Several people have mentioned this before, but those times when a Survivor drops a pallet on my face as I'm just casually walking past get me every time. It happens so rarely, but when you don't even see the Survivor and just get a CLUNK straight to the noggin is absolutely terrifying.
-
... That Blight comment hits me right in the feels.
'Nuff said.
-
As someone who's more invested in the lore of the games rather than the fanbase... Shudder.
I gotta say, the idea of Springtrap being in DBD is definitely one that could work well, given the prominent quote by Afton, claiming that "I always come back!", and the fact that Springtrap already survived being burned in FNaF 3 before making his re-debut in Freddy's Pizzeria Simulator as "Afton".

yes and no,
yes you can win without tunneling, no you can't win without tunneling without high levels of skill on a good killer, a ton of slowdown perks, or some mix of the two
if someone can only win with tunneling that's because they are lacking in one of the categories and the fastest and easiest way to secure a win is tunneling, sorry its just that good of an alternative
no you aren't bad if you can only ever win by tunneling because some killers just don't have the strength to always win without such luxuries even with a ton of slowdown perks, its you who is entitled for thinking they can't ever tunnel to hedge their bets
You forgot one element of winning as Killer- Luck.
Sometimes, the Entity just doesn't feel like giving you anything in your favor, so you gotta just suck it up, buttercup.
-
Really, gow you handle Demo depends on his playstyle.
There are two primary Demogorgon types I see: The Chaser, and the Guard Dog.
The Chaser lives for the chase, and is probably running perks to help with that. They often bait their Shred attempts to get you to do some dodgy shenanigans and slow down.
The Guard Dog sets up a network of portals around generators, and watches over them with everything they've got. They will often employ chase tactics similar to the Chaser, but their strategy is much more reserved, focusing instead on the security of their portal network.
-
As someone who has played Demogorgon a fair bit, allow me to offer my 8 cents on the matter:
-THE DEMOGORGON-
'A GUIDE ON HOW TO FIGHT A LITERAL MONSTER'
The Demogorgon is a very potent Killer for his jack-of-all-trades playstyle. He isn't the greatest in a chase, nor is he the best defender of totems and/or generators, but a skilled Demogorgon is capable of tackling both at the same time and juggling priorities to ensure that you lose in the end.
The Demogorgon, being a jack-of-all-trades, is quite flexible, and benefits from a wide variety of perks and playstyles, but for this particular guide, I'll walk you through the two "primary" playstyles, which often mingle together.
Style A- THE CHASER
Demogorgons who fall under the Chaser distinction have a perk build probably centered around hunting Survivors quickly and efficiently. Generally, your strategy will be to pound out thr generators ASAP, but if they engage you in a chase, be ready for them to Shred you at any possible moment. A common trick more famously abused by Pyramid Head players is to channel Of The Abyss for a brief moment, and then release it in order to trick their target into trying to get fancy with their dodging so they can catch up, or to bait them into leaving the vault point for an easy smack to the derrier.
Your primary method for fighting chasers will be to drop pallets early and be wary of any stray portals you see laying about. Chasers often set them up in obtuse spots to get around the map faster, but usually don't bother caring beyond making a mental note of your location if they are cleansed.
Style B- THE GUARD DOG
Guard Dogs play almost entirely opposite to Chasers, where instead of hunting Survivors constantly, they lay a network of portals to get to and from their 3 or 4-gen complex with ease. Common tactics include constantly channeling Of The Abyss to get a layout of which generators and portals are being tampered with, and keeping a spare portal at each member of the 3-gen setup to truly mess with those who attempt to cleanse. If you're up against a Guard Dog, your best bet is to coordinate with your fellows and do multiple generators at once, as the Demogorgon can only chase off one Survivor at a time, and a Guard Dog will rarely veer too far from the generators to chase you down unless they know they can secure the kill quickly. Their strategy is about wearing down your patience until you make stupid plays, so don't fall for it.
If the Demogorgon you face combines aspects of both playstyles, be on the lookout for everything mentioned above. As for how perks go, a Demogorgon can utilize just about anythig and everything to cover their bases, since almost everything works to their advantage in some way.
Heck, even Insidious has a spot on their roster.

@gatsby said:
Everyone has their favorite perks that aren't really part of the meta. So what's your perk that you really like that most people overlook?
Mine's Blood Pact for Survivor and Mindbreaker for Killer.
You know, you say Mindbreaker is bad, but Mindbreaker's rework actually makes it... Really usable by stealth killers.
But more on point, my favorite "bad" perk is Dying Light. Sure it only benefits the Obsession at first, but as the game draws on, things slow to a crawl until you get 5 stacks, where gens just won't get done anymore.

This sounds like no mither. But that's also why that perk has downsides.
Yeah, but imagine basically No Mither with no Broken status and insanely fast recovery speeds.
I shudder to imagine the hell Killer life would become.

Oh God please no.
No.
That would be beyond broken.
Would it be fitting? Yeah. Absolutely.
Would it be busted? Yes. Definitely.
-
My favorite perk of all time, for whatever reason, is Dying Light.
As I secure more and more hokks, the match slows to a crawl and I gain the upper hand, until about 5 stacks, wherein the generators have dropped to a snail's pace and are only getting slower.

I wish you were correct, but you are not. A Killer can try to herd the Survivors and control the map in such a way to create a 3-Gen situation, but it isn't a sure thing. In fact, it is often the quickest way to lose. Some new Killers will find the 3-Gen and then anchor themselves there, only going after Survivors who come into their narrow patrol. This is a bad idea.
The Survivors will get all the other Generators they need and then starts a coordinated effort of going in and out on the periphery (usually in two man teams) until the last one pops because you won't be able to keep up. Even with a 3-Gen if Survivors are hitting the two furthest and simply moving off the moment you turn around, slow but sure they will wear those Generators down. It happens all the time.
There is a basic truth of war, it is very difficult to win on the defense. The Killer is one person and attrition will favor the Survivors if you let them get all they want. The more EFFECTIVE way for a Killer to 3-Gen is to do it more subtle, i.e. actively be chasing, downing, and working on the Survivors so that their numbers are culling before you get down to the 3-Gen situation. Herd chases in a way that discourages the area you mean to hold. And for the record, a 3-Gen doesn't always have to be the three closest Generators. They just have to be close enough or have an easy enough route to patrol.
Thus, a Killer can remain flexible and be willing to actively work on the Survivors while always working to get one of three Generator combinations for the end game. There is an IDEAL combo, a good combo, and a workable combo. The workable one is just as good as the ideal, if you have gotten your Survivors down in number a bit. About the only point I will defer is I'm certain there are SOME Killers, the best of the best, that can always get a 3-Gen situation when they want it. But for the rest of us, it involves work.
I've had some luck as Demo holding 3 gens at the onset, but I set up portals around a 4th gen just in case and keep my patrols in that area.
The portals do MASSIVE work toward securing the area, namely in the ability to keep tabs on all the generators at once.
-
Wait, were you guys the group I faced last night as Demo?
:o
-
People think their opinions are the only right ones, and everyone else is either invalid or...
Well, just invalid.
-
So, coming from the Killer on the other side of that argument, here's what I see:
A Meg pops into my lobby, mask and all that good stuff, key in hand.
I can only assume the worst, so I dig through my perks for a good solution.
I notice a distinctive lack of Franklin's, or I'm not playing Bubba.
I scroll to my Offerings and see a Mori.
"Well, I guess it's that kind of game today."
