I feel that wont do much for wraith
It'd do more than him being slightly visible from 12-24 meters while cloaked.
I had HOPED he would just have true invisibility to all but under 6 meters or something, since his breathing isnalready obnoxiously loud anyway.
-
The Wraith change is incredibly disappointing to me.
I was hoping we'd have something more in line with being entirely invisible beyond a 6-12 meter radius, you know, making his cloak actually MEAN SOMETHING. There's a reason Freddy is considered laughable as a stealth Killer, and this is it.

The Basement Hooks are granted the following bonuses:

So Monstrous Shrine?

Ah you went with the old soft-tunnel method,it's a tough one to pull especially if the survivor knows you're after them.
Yeah, if they catch on and have good game sense, they can get you.
But clearly, David had no idea he was on my kill list.

I love it and my son also thinks it's an amazing perk.
Thanks! I generally try to think of perks that are both useful in the current meta, and also balanced enough to where they aren't oppressively strong, but allso not... Surge, Hangman's Trick, and Monstrous Shrine.
-
I had a match some time ago as Oni.
I was chasing a blonde chick, not Cheryl, and she ran to a pallet.
David walked out around the rock like in a cartoon, planted himself right in front of the pallet, and bodyblocked blondie as I approached.
She slowly turned to face me, and I simply stepped back, let her go, and then proceeded to soft-tunnel David out of the game while making absolutely sure blondie got out okay.
In the EGC, I said: "David knows what he did."
He didn't, somehow, but I explained the situation, and everyone bust out laughing.

I like this perk idea.
If I were to put it in gameplay terms:
Karmic Justice-
You bear a sinister hatred for those who are overly ambitious on the brink of escape.
When the exit gates are powered, all Survivors standing in the exit gates suffer from the Exposed status effect, and any Survivor downed in the exit gates are unable to escape the match for 3/5/7 seconds after being downed.
"I took pause to consider my options. Do I stay, and risk my demise at the hands of the beast, or do I leave, and condemn my fellows to a horrible fate?"
Hell, this might be an even better function for No One Escapes Death, provided they make it no longer function as a Hex perk.
It would be pretty good, and fit the name, if that were the case.

If this is true, I will eat my Demogorgon.
... On second thought, I rescind that statement.
-
My preference usually doesn't come down to the Survivor's character themselves, but rather how the player behaves during the match.
If they are toxic doichebags, they get to die like the rest of 'em.
If they're off shitting themselves in a corner because Blight is running around Devouring Soap like a lunatic, then I can be convinced to let them out.

Regardless of the server issues, when Ghostface is standing still, and the survivor also isn’t going anywhere, GF gets revealed very quickly.
Not always true.
Ghost Face requires at least 30% of his model to be in the CENTER of your screen to begin revealing him.
Problems arise when the freakin' grass under his feet obscure about 80% of his model while he's hunched over lower than Victor with his rank-ass posture and muscular thighs.

Wait, why Bitter Murmur and Rancor together?
Easier tracking than Rancor alone.
In any case, you don't NEED Bitter Murmor for Rancor Roulette. I use Insidious just to be extra during the EGC.
There was a David squad whom were basically taking turns, and I stood there with Insidious to let the timer of EGC bring on all the pressure instead of that dakned heartbeat.
His SWF was telling him he was gonna fukkin' die, but the mad lad went for it anyway.

The reason is that the killer can't change his load-out fast enough to something like franklins or sloppy butcher.
I know that much. I'm just saying, all these Survivors gotta stop being so self-centered that they have to use the lobby as a crutch for their shenanigans.
-
For the record, I'm not saying don't bring Keys or Toolboxes or whatever, I'm saying cut it out with the swapping at the last second.
There is literally no reason to do it anymore, now that Killers can't switch like that and Moris are no longer an issue for Survivors.
Be polite and courteous to the Killers who have to deal with your shenanigans from the onset, please.

Jokes on you, buddy, next game I see you you're getting last second swapped into my No Mither Self Care David.
I mean, swapping into something outright silly like that, fine.
But if you swap from a Baby Dweet into Toxic Nea with a Key, I am noping out of there harder than anyone who has played Mario Sunshine's infamous Chuckster Level.
-
Demogorgon, from my experience, aside from being the pick you play to faff around with, is one of the more aesthetically pleasing Killers on the roster.
Playing as a literal monster who is real loud and screeches in a particularly satisfying way in a game otherwise populated by Humans and mutant Humans is quite the fantasy.
Plus, Survivors being chased have to deal with the fact that if they are careless, he can really mess up their day.

Maybe it depends on region or something, but I meet a lot of really mean Claudettes? If I see a Claudette covered in blood, I get suspicious, but most of them go under the radar until they're being totally obnoxious in a match. And this has happened to me as both killer and survivor! I got teamed up with a Claudette once who spent the whole match hiding in lockers, then camped the hatch while the last two people died on second hook. Luckily, the killer got there first and closed it on her, and he even told her off in chat afterwards for sabotaging her team.
Blendettes are always a pain, whether you're Killer or Survivor.
Killers hate them because they are immersed all match.
Survivors hate them for the same reason, but for a different context.

Are these rank 1 players? Because I've met some horrendous rank 1 players. I just think there are a few things that people judge other players by that are ridiculous and detrimental, and skins is a big one, followed closely by what they carry into a match.
I just respond based on the trends I've noticed. Toxic Neas and Bunny Fengs, in my experience, have been toxic a-holes 90% of the time.
-
As a Wraith main, I have a couple points to make for his basekit, since his addons are fine minus small tweaks to Windstorm which I'll talk about in a second.
@Xyvielia said:
Never understood what prevents Wraith from swinging his weapon when cloaked. His arms aren’t incapacitated, and his weapon shouldn’t be any less functional when invisible. Sure, game-wise it could be considered unfair as he wouldn’t need to uncloak, but why the entity would limit the potential of his power like that is a mystery.
Apparently the Wraith partially enters the Spirit Realm, according to the lore, so that's why he can't attack Survivors. Doesn't explain how he can still bodyblock, but it's whatever.
Anywhom, in regards to changes I would make, true invisibility while cloaked is a must-have buff for Wraith. His breathing is loud and obnoxious, and only those who don't hear him coming get trapped. In high level play, a cloaked Wraith may as well be running visible unless he has Windstorm or Shadow Dance or All Seeing going.
On the topic of other additions, Wraith would certainly benefit from getting a bit more of a boost to his base speed, whether that be for actions or movement. I would certainly enjoy the movement speed addition, since that opens the door for more than just Windstorm.
Aside from that, his addons are varied and fun, and besides tweaking numbers on whatever is added to his basekit, nothing else really deserves change.
-
So I've seen a lot of things about skins. As a Killer main, here are my two cents:
In regards to cosmetics of choice, it doesn't really impact me that much unless it's the purple hair and masked Nea, which I've dubbed "Toxic Nea", or a Bunny Feng.
In 90% of matches I've played with those two characters and those cosmetics, both Toxic Neas and Bunny Fengs are the most toxic players I've ever seen. BMing like crazy, DS into Head-On plays, and the good ol' "GGEZ tryhard camp slug baby noob killer."
I don't know why, but it's a really bizarre trend.
And this is also the reason that anyone using those cosmetics get no mercy from me, just out of PTSD.
Edit: Spelling.

Wraith has a whole bunch of options available, since he has one of the most versatile add-on complements in DbD:
- Speed Wraither / Bodyblock Wraith (Double Windstorm add-ons + speed-boosting perks like PWYF or NOED)
- Mega-Lunge Wraith (Swift Hunt add-on + Coup de Grace and other speed-boosting perks)
- Destroy Everything Wraith (Double Shadowdance add-ons + action-speed-boosting perks like Bamboozle, Fire Up, Brutal Strength, and Iron Maiden)
- Reverse Wraith (The Ghost & The Beast add-ons + perks that manipulate the terror radius, like Trail of Torment, M&A, or Tinkerer)
- Ghost Wraith (Coxcombed Clapper & The Ghost add-ons)
- All-Seeing Wraith (Either of his All-Seeing add-ons; they give him massive map awareness)
I gotta admit, Wraith has a ton of options available to him for Addon builds alone.

The thing that really drives me crazy is performing a vault, falling 20 feet and still getting hit halfway down. They really need to fix that crap.
That has to do with the Killer swinging at you as you reach the ground. What ends up happening is that the Killer catches up to you during the lunge, and because the game isn't exactly vertically-inclined, the game goes: "Oh, they're basically touching!" and gives he hit.

It's a fun way to play those "break x gens/pallets" tome quests. I particularly like to use the fake uncloak strategy to get them off the gens or drop the pallets before kicking them.
Indeed! As I mentioned in my original post, this is generally the strategy you want to use to bait Survivors into giving you the advantage.
They either drop the pallet or take the hit, neither of which ends well for them.

And I also feel it’s a case of the devs not wanting to lose player base. I could guarantee that if the devs nerfed ooo swf groups would be in outrage and quit the game over it.
Frankly, I would say buff solo queue up to SWF levels, and then buff Killers to match.
Is my concept original? No.
Would it help? ######### yes.
-
I definitely feel like the game is Survivor-sided, though this doesn't stem entirely from the devs themselves.
Survivors like to win and escape. Understandable.
But the problem arises when they'll do anything to win, and expect to win every game because they're the power role in this wack AF game.

Even without Iron Maiden, though, you still do everything STUPIDLY fast.

none of those perks or addons have changed in like 2 years, cant really get more updated if something never changed in the first place
Well, I'm talking more in relation to the overall gameplay factors at work in the game, less of the build itself.

I like my content updated, particularly when massive gameplay changes are introduced.
-
As an addendum:
If anyone happens to play with this build and discovers things, please let me know! I'm curious to see how far the rabbit hole goes with Wraith, here!

Specifically the loud engine revving noise was removed, likely because the devs- And everyone else- Found it to be way too loud and obnoxious.

All they have to do is tweak it a bit. The fact it only does something after you lose a gens makes it weak. It needs to start with some percentage or have a different factor/requirement.
Yeah, but hey, the fact that when you inevitably lose gens with this build you get EVEN FASTER, makes Fire Up a nice alternative to STBFL.
-
@chargernick85 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1832397#Comment_1832397
I suck with STBFL always lose my stacks. always feels like a wasted perk slot. I feel like the obssession is magnetized to me and my weapon swings itself.
That's fair. I've found much more luck with it, myself, but if you'd rather not deal with an Obsession, then Fire Up is actually a GREAT replacement, for once in its mediocre existence!

@ReverseVelocity said:
Don't forget about Fire Up, that'll make kicking pallets and vaulting even faster.
Yes, by all means, use Fire Up!
I personally use STBFL just to spread out my stupidly ridiculous speed when doing anything relevant, but Fire Up pairs really well with this dumb, gimmicky build that has no business working as well as it does.
-
Yeah, Killers such as Legion, Doc, Wraith, and a few others are crazy good at racking up BP totals like no other, but their pipping potential leaves a bit to be desired.
This has to do a lot with bonus BP events that they trigger, like Pacification for Doc and Surprise Attacks for Wraith.
-
Gen Protector Freddy is a truly menacing figure.
With the ability to teleport to generators via Tinkerer and Pop them, coupled with Ruindying, it may seem hopeless to try and fight.
The trick is to take your time, and handle things one step at a time.
Freddy can only pressure one Survivor, so your primary task will be to take out Ruin ASAP. Cleanse the Totems as often as you can.
If Freddy sees you working gens, he WILL come for you. While he is diverted, others should take the opportunity to get their own gens done.
Another tip: If Freddy is going for a teleport, DO NOT RUN. Instead, quickly and quietly get behind something and sneak away. The longer you can bait him, the more work your friends can get done.
It requires a bit of coordination, but it IS possible to beat a Freddy who does this.
-
Another tip some here have missed, besides the Point-Turn, is that Blight can Lethal Rush pallets and walls to break them with a special animation. It's similar to Demo Shredding a Pallet or wall.

His hands flash when being able to insta down? That is interesting.
Yeah. It's pretty subtle unless you're watching for it, but after about half a second, his hands get blood veins going, and that's your cue.
-
@Yords said:
You don't have to fully hold the m1 to get an insta down hit, just make sure you don't go for a quick swing during this mode. For an insta down, there is kind of no way to explain it specifically, but you can hold m1 down for a second and then let go while flicking your mouse towards a survivor trying to spin you around to hit them much faster. This is when you are not dashing.
When you are dashing, you just have to get a feel for the movement of the swing.
There is actually a tell for the timing as soon as Oni is ready.
I haven't played him in a hot second, but I believe that it was that when you see his hands flash with blood, you can let go for the instadown.
-
@Altarf said:
Gotta be Freddy. His skill ceiling is about as high as Victor's height.
On a serious note, though, hitting prediction shots through walls with PH is difficult and rewarding, although a bit easier with the rework (still think it could've been handled better). Hillbilly also has a lot to learn, but is frustrating because of the overheat capping what you can try with the saw, and his addons being mostly trash. Oni is also like billy, with less of a skill ceiling but much less frustrating and with much, much better addons.
I've also heard that huntress and blight are good candidates. Huntress is undeniable, I still laugh at blight. Genuinely do not understand the general community's view of him as like a top 5 killer or whatever, especially those who say he's the third best. Literally go behind a wall 4head, it's not that hard. Or, you know, juke him by turning an inch to the side. This has worked on every blight i've gone against, ever, including the p3 ones. All four of them. He is very fun to play against, though!
Those guys must have either been console players, or they BARELY missed the Point-Turn chasing after you.
Or they simply weren't as good as they thought, because I hit Survivors who attempt to juke all the time.
-
Here's the deal:
From what I'm hearing, this is a Steam hack, not a BHVR/DBD hack.
If this is the case, then the topic should be brought up to Valve/Steam's tech support guys, not the guys running the game most impacted by the hack.
-
If you wish to master Blight, one of the key tenets to Blight mastery is to be unpredictable.
Those who can't tell what you have up your sleeve will have a hard time besting your ability.
Another thing that helps is using your power for mobility more than going on the offensive, but never be afraid to take a swing you think you can hit.
-
Honestly, I don't play "friendly" or meme builds often, but when I do, it's some dumb fun.
My primary meme build will always be Rancor Roulette Ghostface: Rancor, Furtive Chase, Nemesis, and a flex perk you can put whatever in. I put Insidious on because fukkit.
The game strategy is simple, and can be done during the main game, or as the gens are done:
1) Find Obsession.
2) Hook Obsession.
3) Lurk nearby and wait for Obsession to be unhooked, transferring Obsession status in the process.
4) Repeat from step 2.
-
I realized this a while back when looking at his cane-hand in the first-person model for a while.
I had hoped it was only his right hand, then I could have made Princes' Bride references.

I'm also curious if this is a bug, or a rumor.
-
@MandyTalk I'm pretty sure they're referring to the bug where supposedly Devour Hope requires the victim to be on stage 2 of their hook cycle.
And this makes sense to me on one front:
Devour Hope moris seem to be treated as Ebony Moris, judging from the fact that the Ebony Mori icon appears over a Survivor when I go to mori them with Devour Hope, even when no Mori offering is used.
