  • Hell no. Old voice were destroying my ears, it was like recorded on a cheap ass mic. Here new voice tho, hell yeah. Really fits her.

@Peanits can you tell me who did the new Kate voice? Really like that and want to know who the person behind that is :)

  • How can you refund a game which you got family shared and never bought? Hard to believe your story honestly.

  • @Peanits said:

Is it possible? Sure. No matter how many times we detect their cheats, new ones are going to pop up sooner or later. They're definitely not common, though. I would sooner assume that they're just a good billy and they saw someone's arm poking out or something, or they're just good at predicting survivor movement.

Are you guys catching cheaters by yourself or you need hints from players who report the cheater and you can take a look at that?

  • When it takes longer for you to down that survivor normally than doing this chesing you should rethink your chasing skill.

I don't recall pallets actually being an issue. If you were in a pallet, you would have gotten stunned anyway, whether the stun is queued or not. The only difference is that one required absolutely perfect timing which I would argue shouldn't be the case, though this is personal preference. I'm of the belief that if you messed up and carelessly picked them up in a pallet without knowing that the area is clear first, that was your mistake.

The bigger issue when that was tested was flashlights. This was back when instablinds were still a think. Someone could sprint over, just barely get the blind angle and save them almost every time. Without instablinds, that's much harder to do. You need nearly perfect timing and you have to be in position for longer. Sprinting in at the last second and timing the blind correctly takes a huge amount of skill these days.

But @Peanits u don't have the time to clear all the area, the timer is ticking. And in swf clearing the area just gives them more time to actually come from far away to do the stun.

Furthermore I like that the frame perfection is a thing, it takes at least a little bit of skill to time it perfectly, besides hiding nearby which isn't always easy.

  • @FishFry247 said:

"nearly" it has to be perfect if you want to save someone, can't miss time it at all, I've seen consistency in my flashlight saves

No, the blind just has to happen AFTER the pick up animation ended. Which happened as I described.

"perfect" would be to leave the killer 0 room to avoid it, no matter how fast he looks away.

I used "nearly perfect" because the killer COULD have avoided it, but failed and still got the blind after the animation ended.

I'm not personally fond of the struggle mechanic. I can envision a possible new one though.

Picture you are on the hook, and a circle is in front of you. On this circle, there are 4 smaller circles in the North, south, east, and west positions. Every so many seconds or so, (we'll say 7 for ease of example).....one of the smaller circles flashes in some way and you have to point your left analog stick/WASD keys in that direction.

If successful, you stave off one of the entities "claws" and can continue to live.

This prevents repetitive button mashing and continues to make sure you have to pay attention and not run to the fridge for a drink or something.

Just one of the many ideas I have, let me know what you think. (hopefully no one else has thought this one up yet.)

I personally would just prefer an automatic button smashing like I currently have with my macro script, but just ingame so I can also alt+tab out quickly. I can see where u coming from, but I personally wouldn't like that. Maybe it's a habit, but I like to just relax on the hook and do nothing except waiting to get unhooked because at the end of the day it's only that what really matter: getting unhooked. And myself buying time for my mates.

Also wiggling needs to go aswell. The mechanics are outdated imo. They already were outdated on release let's be honest. It's like playing a shooter game with a Wii controller (no hate towards Nintendo fans), it's just clunky and not best.

Since you are a mod, can you please make this a topic to the devs and give us a report what they think about that? Would appreciate that a lot

  • @TheGorgon said:

Definitely change it to being automatic. Obviously someone can just make it into a macro, but do we really need to do that? I agree tunnel really bothers my hand sometimes, and transitioning to PC soon, I have to say, I'm not looking forward to it.

Another question though, PC players: Do you press W and shift at the same time to walk straight? I can't seem to press W and not feel the urge and press shift. Has this ever happened to you? I know it's silly to ask, but I want to know. :D

Shift and W as killer? Yeah always, it's a habit of playing survivor lol, in my deep mind Im thinking I walk faster holding shift as killer, I'm a 4head

  • Depends on the overall situation. Toxic swf group trying to bully me and genrush? Well thanks for making it easier to kill your team mate, I will take it.

Solo survivors hardly doing gens and one 4head thought it's a good idea to farm you? Don't worry, you can live.. For now. I will focus on the farmer.

  • A really stupid mechanic. Can't believe it's still the same in the game. At least I'm using a macro, couldn't play without it anymore.

Some actually admit to it freely and flat out admit they do it just to grief and harass the Streamer.

I’m a mod for a very popular DBD streamer myself, we’ve been dealing with just this issue for days now. I say those kind of people do need to be banned.

Being stream sniped or not, it doesn’t matter. It’s right under the “Harassment and heavy Grieving” category. That if a player knowingly and willingly follows another player from match to match for the sole purpose of ruining their games, it’s a ban offense.

Just because the person is a streamer has no bearing. They should be afforded the same protection as everyone else under this rule.

To those who say “Well they are asking for it by streaming” shame on you. I don’t want to use this analogy, but just as a woman dressing “provocatively” isn’t an open invitation for a man to accost her, a streamer streaming isn’t an open invitation for someone to snipe and ruin their matches, repeatedly.

For days? Are you mod of tru3ta1ents channel? He's getting recently stream sniped into oblivion, nearly always the same 2-3 people are trying to get into his lobby and snipe.

Then you should write better titles. If you say "Everything was better before!?" (by the way, check Betteridge's law of headlines), don't be surprised when people point out that was not the case, at all.

My title is good, it's a known saying and everyone interested can read the post or move on. No rocketscience here.

Also, my point still stands. Reading just headlines and commenting without reading the whole post is lazy.

It was a while back. There was an exploit that allowed Survivors to reach a point on the outside of the Crotus Institute and Killers could not do anything about it. Survivors would hold games hostage for ages with it. There were a lot of videos about it, so it was pretty much common knowledge.

Bhvr came out and said that anyone caught abusing this exploit would be permanently banned. End of story. Afaik, this was the first time such a declaration about an exploit was made(probably because it was getting too well known).

Survivors kept abusing the exploit anyway and some got banned, as promised. Weeks later, the exploit was fixed and Bhvr came out again and announced the inclusion of the soft ban system and those "permanently" banned would have that ban count as their first strike.

So even under the threat of a permanent ban, Survivors still abused the exploit, and Bhvr didn't have the guts to keep to their promise and let them off the hook. Is there really any teeth behind threats of bans anymore?

Those survivors who kept abusing it probably never heard the threat of BHVR to get permanently banned. That's why they kept doing it. Or they just simply didn't care

  • I got accused doing this bug but in reality I did the sprint control tech (exhaustion nearly recovered and tapped shift to recovery fully and activate it). How are you going to tell the difference between someone who abused the bug and someone who used the LEGIT tech? It's impossible.

  • The only difference between flashlights today is the battery they have.

Did you just call something toxic? That's toxic.

Real answer though: No, they're not toxic. It's just an item. Using an item in the game isn't toxic. Now if you were to sabotage a hook right in the killer's face and teabag furiously, then it would be toxic. But at that point the toxic part is you teabagging, not the toolbox.

Teabagging isn't always just toxic. Sometimes taunting the killer is the only way to safe your team mates from getting tunneled because the killer will tunnel you lol

  • Let's solve this issue first: how are you going to know for sure that someone stream sniped?

Stream snipers aren't gonna say in the chat that they sniped you.

when every safe pallet gets reworked to an unsafe pallet, yeah. maybe.

Devs are currently working in it as seen with preschool. But honestly I don't see why not now because it's a powerful tool for free, it's a mindgame took. And wie Enduring it can be very dangerous aswell.

  • @Vammatar said:

Agree I never played back in 2016 but seeing the comparison video back then it looked so much better. What happened?

2 big engine updates happened. Since then devs weren't able to restore the awesome atmospheric graphics and couldn't fix the sound issues.

  • U probably misunderstood him. It's no secret that console players will never reach the skill which is pc had because of controller limitations. I mean, the best killer on pc is the worst killer on console, that's already saying something. So I'm case we want to balance around high level play it's better to listen to experienced and skilled players from the pc environment. That doesn't mean console have no word. I just think pc players word weights more in this game.

And btw, it depends on the game. In a game like dark souls I would rather listen to console players than pc players because the controller allows you to do high skilled techniques which are not possible on with mouse and keyboard.

  • @Justwantacreampie said:

I hope they change it to a standard cooldown perk and not an exhaustion perk anymore.

This would be so awesome. Head is already one of the "works once but probably not again against a decent smart killer" perk so a cooldown to activate it multiple times in a chase sounds good for me

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I would imagine it's mostly because solo survivor can be rough, and most high rank killers compensate for high level, coordinated survivors by default to be safe (I'm guilty of it).

That being said, you don't need to run meta stuff to succeed as a solo survivor. I usually reach purple/red ranks with some combination of OoO, Head On, Quick and Quiet, DS, Unbreakable, Tenacity, and Stake Out. Survivor is more about playing smart and knowing where pallets and windows are than anything else. It's not so much a mechanical skill thing and more of a decision making thing, and I don't mean that in a negative way.

People complain that survivors have been nerfed, and maybe they have, but it was necessary and in no way prohibits solo survivors from succeeding with off-meta meme perks at high ranks. Compare that with a killer trying to do the same at red ranks and the result will often be very different. Survivor is still comparatively easy and way more chill, in my opinion.

I personally don't take playing survivor serious anymore. It's to frustating if you take it competetive as solo, my team mates always make me tilting. So I meme around, use head on etc and play around with the killer. Probably that's what people drive away from playing survivor: the solo experience is just to frustating. Not because of the killer but more because of your team mates.

I tried it and had very good results. It seems fixed. I would not say they buffed it imo, but it just worked as i felt it should.

Thanks, glad to hear that. Head on is a really fun perk when it works. But when it doesn't it's frustating. Hopefully it's gonna be fixed in the live build, can't wait for it use it for some memes

  • Only for survivors. For killers perspective it should stay as it is. No need to make tracking even harder. It's already hard enough and nearly impossible to find a survivor if he really commits to be stealthy as Claudette

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I think people do the long-almost struggle stretches because waving your hands is really hard to do with laggier matches.

I usually wave my arms constantly for "being camped, do gens, don't rescue me". I'll do it in short bursts if I'm NOT being camped but killer has come back for me (Around 4 or 5 waves, pause 5 seconds, 4 or 5 waves, etc). This gives off the impression of "don't save me" but not so much of "I'm being camped to death".

I will wave twice in quick succession once to signal "it's clear" with another survivor often approaching slowly for either traps or if the killer has left my location such as a stealthy killer. If they're sprinting at me at close proximity and it's not clear, I will wave my arms rapidly until they either stop approaching or start crouching towards me, depending on the situation.

All of the above usually works.

    ...Usually.

Trust me, you are confusing people more than helping them. But you are not to blame, that's how solo Q is. @Peanits any news about kindred beeing basekit?

Everything you started off with in your comment is why you feel like poop. Stop being a sucker, you try and make sure everyone has fun because they paid for the game too? What kind of nonsense is that? Stop bending the knee to survivors because you're scared they'll be mad at you. You shouldn't be giving people hatch or letting2 people escape, tunneling is a made up word for "i can't get away so your not fair". Get some balls and play for you. Then it won't sting when people dump on you anyway cause you decided to play by fake rules. You also paid for the game, did ya know that? And it came with no mercy instructions. The devs made it the way it's supposed to be. "I don't play with add ons on hillbilly and nurse." That whole sentence is disgusting. Lol you gotta be a survivor main.

Have to agree here. You are to nice. U should only care about YOUR fun. U have fun using certain addons but Survivors always ######### about that? Who cares, use them anyway! It's YOUR experience and as long as you stay in the legit boundaries (no cheating, exploiting) you are not to blame.

I have personally resolved many reports, some containing very vulgar content.

I would love for you, our players, to know that there is a team of real people handling these reports and we care very much about the things that happen during gameplay and in our chat system.

I'm very sorry to hear players have treated you so poorly, it saddens me ro hear it has ruined your day, you do not deserve that. I hope my message brings some reassurance and offers some relief.

We love you guys and appreciate all of the support you show the game, we try to keep the environment as clean as we can but it is a lot to maintain and we are doing our absolute best!

But where exactly is the line between just trash talking ("noob git gud" for example) and bannable talking (stuff like "#########/family")?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Partially because of new matchmaking (apparently 'edge' cases but there's been a lot of complaining going around), and partly because the survivor/killer spread isn't even. At least not at all hours during the day.

It seems a lot of killers play during the day and most survivors play at night (mostly SWF groups as friends get off during work/school and want to play together). At least, that seems to be my experience.

What you're replying to is childish.

Increased movement for killer failure to make progress already exists with bloodlust, which unless I'm mistaken Huntress still turns off with a single hatchet throw so she gets less compensation for failure than every other killer.

Survivor hit movespeed is for failure to prevent inevitable progress and has more to do with not making them pushovers.

A better counterpoint is that a Huntress would not be rewarded for failure by increasing movement speed after expending hatchets (they aren't given a free hit, sacrifice or mori), they would still require the player to gitgud and M1, however it makes them less of a pushover.

Conversely it may cause balance problems on rewarding the already good if a Huntress' speed is reliant on hatchet count. e.g. she could slug better by not needing to reload to remain a threat, Iridescent head is a worry, how should Infantry Belt/Leather Loop affect her, how fast will she move when charging her last hatchet, how fast will she move in all these scenarios with NOED's speed boost.

Personally I'd rather her to have default speed or a smaller hitbox because either would fix one of my main problems with her which would make the other problem less apparent:

    • Short loops, which are common, e.g. shack, prevent her ability's successful use
    • Big rock, coldwind trailer or similar tiny, sometimes palletless loops, the kind you defeat a revved leatherface with, stop her from gaining enough sight to bloodlust to negate smaller survivor hitbox tight-cornering advantages, and if a pallet is involved, well, that's 5 gens on an effective infinite if you don't break off

Sorry, but bloodlust exists because of poor map design and not to carry mistakes. At least that was the reason why it got introduced. So your point doesn't stand.

  • At 17 seconds? Noobs. Toxic players switch at 6 second so you don't even have time to leave the lobby lol

  • @artist said:

if anything exhaustion addons need a nerf.

Yeah, Clown and doctor is kinda garbage. Getting a survivor exhausted with them addons takes no skill and is also hurting dead hard users more than other exhaustion perks. Huntress is kinda fair, but strong tho

  • @Mochan said:

I feel like people are overreacting to Plague.

Her power basically reads: "Everyone is permanently Broken unless they give me a Machine Gun."

How is that not good? Killers are overdramatizing this. She can still goop up everything, and it's really nasty. She can use her power just fine even if Survivors choose not to heal up.

It's just the same as Hag. You can choose to slow your game down crabwalking everywhere or just run around willy nilly and give in to her power.

I do not understand why people think that being Broken all game, not to mention oozing an awful green cloud that prevents stealth and coughing and vomiting the entire game is an inconsequential thing.

    It's crazy.

Cuz it's boring af to play M1 for the entire match when survivors decide to stay broken. And good survivors will just play safer beeing broke and don't risk to squeeze out every single loop. And it works, I escape against Plague really often.

  • The last we need is nerfing exhaustion perks even more.

  • @SteelDragon said:

before bloodlust goes away every map every loop and totems spots on every map will need to be fixed until then bloodlust is NEEDED, heck even some nerfs to gens would probably be needed to before bloodlust is gone

Excuse me, but what have totem spots to do with bloodlust? Bloodlust is a chasing mechanic introduced to band-aid fix poor map design. Totems are there for perks. Two completely different things.

  • What killer? Pretty much basic M1 killers? Current meta is spirit fury and enduring.

When survivors drop pallets early just lunge or appreciate that they are dropping early and not waste your time.

My point is I always prepare for the worst (insta meds, full blown gen rush toolbox) and then some poor soul has brown medkit or toolbox without anything and its a weird feeling.

Well then survivors should have the same mindset: prepare for the worst and bring the strongest #########.

  • Whats your point? I could insert a Screenshot of 4 brown medkits without addons. That's not gonna proof anything.

Devs should give us some statistics of how many medkits are used in a match in average and how many of them are insta heals.
