Because killers can't just change what killer they queue as and with 4 survivors being able to "ban" a killer some killers are just going to get punished with long queue times just for trying to play a killer they like.
Literally just suck it up. Some matches you'll play against a killer you don't like or on a map you don't like.

Lol. i'll be long gone if SBMM is here..
Sorry but. there should've been a Ranked / Causal gamemode
Not this bs SBMM...
Adding a casual mode won't change anything. People will just flock to the faster queue.
-
It's looking like it'll be for when SBMM goes live.
-
It's looking like it, because of the same name format as Hex perks.
All Hex perks start with "Hex: " and Gift of Pain starts with "Scourge Hook: "
-
The last perk is called Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain. Looks to be a new type of perk like hexes.

So we can say killers have 5 perks
The killer still has 4 perks, you are just gambling on whether or not one of those perks is NOED.
But you know here's a crazy idea, you can always just cleanse NOED after the last gen was done. It's not like you have to cleanse all 5 dulls before the end of the game to stop NOED.

It takes a long time to get to EW3. If you can hide behind LOS and focus on gens, there's a good chance that you can do all 5 gens before he pops (happened a few times for me on certain maps). Big maps in general are a nightmare for him.
EW3 is hard, but he's essentially weaker for 70% of the match.
When I run EW3, I need Corrupt Intervention, Whispers, Discordance, and BBQ just to keep finding survivors to rank up, but ensure there's enough time to not get gen rushed.
In theory, survivors should be able to get most of the gens done before a Myers gets to EW3 with Tuft of Fur. But I've had too many teammates who seemingly just run at Myers and let him fully stalk to EW3 meanwhile I'm the only one doing a gen.
-
Trickster being able to stack up laceration damage immediately after injuring you is the one advantage he has over other ranged killers. Every other killer has to deal with a CD after using their power whereas Trickster does not have to.
Trickster is still pretty bad, because he's highly map dependent. But at least he can quickly down survivors if they are out of position.
-
MMR isn't going to be resetting like how ranks do.
-
I kind of doubt we'll see a map with this next chapter. All the teasers were taken on the chapel. Doesn't even seem like we'll get another realm beyond update either since we would have usually gotten a teaser for the upcoming realm beyond update by now.
-
When I play survivor, I would still like to play out games to completion rather than having killers constantly rage-quit because they can do so for free.
Even though ranks don't mean much, I still like to reach rank 1 between each rank reset and it would be much harder than it can be sometimes if killers are also just leaving games early.
-
If the penalty reset everyday it would just give people a "free" pass to d/c once a day.
-
A lot of killers aren't even that good on RPD, because it's a bunch of corridors.
-
@humanbeing1704 said:
Wasn't that added to the game?
It just forces the killer to swing, but just because they get a free "swing" doesn't mean they actually hit the person if they aren't still in front of you when the game makes you swing.
-
He's basically the new Freddy. Simple and easy to play killer who is quite strong. He's not broken but I expect he'll likely see some of his addons nerfed in the future.

I actually had a match with a Wraith on RPD earlier. Granted it's huge, but he just hid in basement all game, and stealth killers excel on that map.
Wraith might even be the best killler on RPD because he has the movespeed to get around quickly and with all the corridors to block LoS he has such an easy time getting on top of survivors.
-
I just play as I would normally regardless of the gestures the killer tries to make to indicate farming. Not only do I find farming games boring in general, but I just wouldn't trust the opponent to act in good faith in the first place.

Well every surv DC'ed facing the old Legion.
Tbh I do the same against Trickster, there is no counter play if the Trickster is playing safe, you will be down in a matter of second. A strong killer is a thing, but a killer that doesn't provide any actual counterplay is something else.
Everyone knows from the start that his power has no in between : or he's busted, or he's underwhelming as hell. Plus his power is uninspired.
To conclude, he needs an actual and complete rework.
Just because people d/c'd against old legion and that old legion got changes are not relevant. Old Legion had actual game breaking issues people mentioned since his ptb that the devs ignored. Like there was no reason mending didn't pause the deep wound timer.
Trickster has counterplay. Use walls he literally can't do much about it if you keep LoS broken for extended periods of time. Sure it's hard to do that on some maps, but there's plenty of other killers who are much stronger on some maps than others so it's not a unique thing of Trickster. You not liking playing against Trickster and you d/cing against Trickster should in no way influence the devs to make changes on Trickster just because you can't take a little bit of time to learn how to play against him.
-
Deliverance does not need a buff.
It's a pretty strong perk that requires a little bit of effort to setup. But it's fair, because it can completely negate a killer's hook pressure.

If you don't know what is a "win" for the MMR system - this system is useless, since you don't know what you have to do in order to "win". Imagine it works the same way as pips (and there is a great chance it does so), meaning you have to farm unhooks, gens, chases and THEN escape in order to "do good" for the MMR. If you just loop the killer for 5 gens and then escape - you will then lose your MMR without even knowing it. You will be sure you did good, but the game decided you wasn't good enough and decreases your MMR, putting you with worse teammates in the next game. It's nonsense and it can't be called "the the system works as intended", because it doesn't: it clearly uses wrong metrics, making MMR inconsistent. This is why every game in the universe that uses MMR makes it crystal clear how MMR is calculated, so that players can see it's working correctly. DbD in the only exception in the history of mankind in this regard, because the devs want to hide it in case it doesn't work, so that they don't have to deal with complaints. This is why MMR is good, but hidden and obfuscated MMR is horrible.
Right now they are only testing the system. Also since I see it a lot on the forums, dbd is supposedly a casual game so it shouldn't really make a difference what constitutes a win. Just play the game and you'll likely get matched with people who play similarity to you.

This is factually wrong, the higher you rank is the harder it becomes to maintain it because you're required to earn more emblem points per trial to do so.
So yes being rank 1-4 matters and clearly shows you're more skilled than the average player.
Most of the time I can predict the killer's rank just by how he plays. I'm survivor rank 4-5 and if I depip in a trial 90% of the time the killer is rank 1. Coincidence?
Now that SBMM is in effect it's another story, but previously your rank more or less was indicative of player skill.
The amount you need to black pip is fairly generous. As long as you aren't spending the match doing absolutely nothing or get caught out first and camped you likely will at least black pip.
-
A competitive mode wouldn't work, because at the end of the day people will flock to whichever has the fastest queues making the whole thing irrevelant.
If you are playing casually you shouldn't be caring about whether you win or lose and if you are being outmatched consistently the mmr system will hopefully throw you against opponents closer to your skill level.
-
I just had a game where my 3 teammates got no other gens done and fed an infinite T3 Myers by the time I finished the first gen. That was quite a disappointment from the games I had yesterday.
-
I don't see how making less focused on killing be good for the game. People just need to stop taking getting removed from the game by the role whose job it is to remove you as personal attacks.
-
The problem you have is that you are trying to tie a value to ranks when there is no real value to them. It's really easy to stay in purple/red ranks if you ever hit them once since you don't reset very far. Not to mention if you ever take an extended break from the game you'll get reset down to low ranks, but you'll still stomp players at those rank because you are still better than them.
The rank system fails at judging actual skill at the game and the devs want a matchmaking system that tries to create more balance games. You just need to accept that ranks don't really mean much.

no it should show up in lobbies so killers can finally quit and play a game without tryhards
I imagine you'll find it very hard to get a game, because I bet you most lobbies have at least a 2 man swf.
And even if you do find a pure 4 solo man lobby, you'll still face tryhard opponents.

What? Where did I say that I'm trying to act superior? Your intentionally taking my words and misunderstanding them. I camp and tunnel to, the difference is that I don't go on the forums and say "The game told me to do it!" I'm doing it on my own accord, no one is forcing me, not the game, not the dev's. Camping and Tunneling is A FAIR STRATEGY, IF ITS HEALTHY OR NOT FOR THE GAME IS A DIFFERENT DISCUSSION WHICH THAT ISN'T THE POINT OF THIS POST.
My whole post is telling people to stop saying that the game is telling you to do it. No where in the game does it say "Camp and Tunnel the Survivors!" It says to just Kill them.
The job of the killer is to kill, at no point does the game say that tunneling or camping are "bad" ways to do it. This is just a very strange topic as you are too focus on the "the game doesn't explicitly say to camp or tunnel" rather than just accepting that because the killer objective is to kill both camping and tunneling are valid tactics.
-
I mostly played survivor last night since it was nice having consistently good teammates.
But the few games of killer I played weren't bad at all. 2 4Ks and a 3K with a hatch escape. So far SBMM has been fine for me.
-
There isn't a way for players to really know how MMR is being calculated since there is no way to view your own MMR.
Which is fine, because a problem of the emblem system is that it's very easy to "game" the emblems to pip or depip.

Ok, copy and paste the message where I said that it's not the Killers job to kill. It is, but the way to reach it is specified very differently in game. I've said this more times than I can count and at this point I'm not sure if I'm being baited but the the game says you have to play one way, then its ok if you ignore that way, but if later on you say that the game wants you do something else then what is actually being specified, your wrong. Go ahead, camp, tunnel, slug, as long as it's not using 3rd party cheats then its ok, but don't use false info.
What false info? The goal of the killer is to kill survivors. The method doesn't matter. And if it must be about torturing survivors to death, I'm sure the survivor being stuck on a hook for 2 minutes is already being tortured.
You are simply trying to justify why you think your own style of play is superior.

Oh my god, have you read the post at all dude? Any of my replies? Wanna know what's in almost every single one of them that you keep ignoring? I DONT CARE ABOUT HOW YOU PLAY. I camp and tunnel to as Killer, but the whole point of the post is that you keep missing is that if your going to tell people in an argument that the objective of the Killer is just and ONLY to kill the survivors as fast as possible, you are wrong. I know lore =/= gameplay stop using false information. Everyone should feel free to play however they want, but not use false information.
So Lore != Gameplay now, but you still want to justify saying that killer's job isn't to kill because of Lore.
At this point it's more that you'll never be satisfy with any answer that isn't agreeing with the opinion you've already set.
-
Based on how people talk about tunneling and camping, it seems that killers tunneling or camping a survivor to death is already torture.
-
The worst killer game I had last night was a 3K with hatch escape.
-
You should probably make this a bug report if this is true. You should also grab a video of getting stuck as well for the report.
-
Ranks are being hidden so they don't get feedback on how the ranks on the end screen are rainbow when ranks aren't even being used for matchmaking.
It's funny how people insist ranks are meaningless, but when MMR is being tested suddenly ranks matter.

what is playing casual while playing survivor? being dumb? playing extremely poorly when i know im very decent at the game? makes no sense. i shouldnt get punished by getting paired with sweat lords just because im a bit more decent than average, especially when those only play as i said 3 to 5 killers and always with the same game style wich is extremely hard for solos to counter not even considering boring.
You are the one saying dbd is a casual game. So play how you want and don't care about the results as you'll end up in a skill bracket that fits your skill eventually.
But It sounds like you don't actually play this game causally.
-
Just play casually and don't worry about whether you win it lose.
If anything the new matching making system will help the devs with making balance changes because factoring in unbalanced games will be less of an issue.
-
I played 11 survivor games tonight and none of the games were one sided. Although the Devour Hope Wraith on RPD really only won due to good rng on his part, but despite losing that game the hardest it didn't feel bad.
I'm not seeing where I as a soloq player got screwed. I've had good overall teammates and the killers were threatening.
-
You split queues and people will end up flocking to the queue with faster queue times. You aren't solving a problem by creating a "casual" queue.

Because the game is asymmetrical and the killer is the 1 vs the 4 survivors. It makes sense for the killer to have more pre-game knowledge than the survivors, because he has to face 4 of them.
-
Just so you know Windows Store shows up as crossplay but is another pc platform that can chat. Crossplay does not automatically mean console.
There's also Stadia.
-
There is no reason for hex perks to disable other killer perks. Just because a combo is not "fun" to face does not mean it should be prevented from existing.
I played a Doctor game last night for the Coulphobia challenge (Coulphobia, Thana, Sloppy, and Distressing with Calm addon) and one of the survivors used The Game map offering. I can't imagine that was a fun game for them either.

That is statistically untrue from what the devs have released with Hawkins being the most dangerous and the saloon wasn't even on the list for killer sided maps if I am remembering correctly.
Yeah I'm not sure where this idea that Dead Dawg is killer sided came from. Saloon is a strong building that can easily drain a killer's time and several of the buildings in front the saloon can easily be chained together. The only thing that helps killers on Dead Dawg is that it's a smaller map so it's easier to get around, but that doesn't really matter when the saloon is a guaranteed free gen and the map often spawns a gen on the balconies of one of the other buildings. Even the gallows is a kind of free gen, but is at least a bit easier for killers to defend since it's a more center gen.
If survivors don't know how to prioritize gens by doing the saloon, gallows, or balcony gens first, then yeah it can be very easy for the killer to defend the remaining gens.
-
Oh no, one chapter might be a license you don't care about. It's not like there's plenty of other characters you play as instead.
Honestly the people who are refusing to play if x license comes to dbd are acting more like children than the possible children that might be attracted by x license.

You won it though I cant use my item in our game congrats. But why should it effect more than our match if I manage to escape?
If you escape with your item in hand you get to keep it. Franklin's no longer can delete items so you always have the chance to pick it back up.

Please read my scenario i put out and tell me why your perk should mean I cant use my item in my next game.
Because the point of Franklin's is to remove items from survivors.
If you want to keep your item so badly then you need to pick it back up and prevent the killer from knocking out of your hands again.

I understand that...Its just an insurance policy, which in my opinion should cover Franklins as well. Not placing it down on your own volition though that would be problematic.
It has never covered Franklin's and if it did would only lead to the ability for survivors to duplicate items. It's literally not an issue. There's a single very niche situation in which a White Ward doesn't protect your item and you still have the option to force a killer to grab you out of a locker to prevent the force item drop.
-

They took the completely used aspect out so that's not a valid point, but I will address the first. But, If I bring an item I am risking that item in the trial, full acceptance, With the caveat that if I escape I get to keep it, I bring an offering to protect it even if the game goes south and I die and I can use it next game. Your perk, negates my ability to use it next game even if I play well enough to escape and through my offering. So it effects me outside of our trial.
White Ward only allows you to keep your item if it's in your hand at the time you die. Same with the key addons. It's how the offering/addons have always worked even before the Franklin's changes.
