They're not nerfing Deathslinger because he's broken or too powerful, they're nerfing him because he's not fun to play against.
His zoning provides no opportunity to the Survivor to dodge, because the speed he can aim and fire is far quicker then any normal human's reaction time. You don't dodge a Deathslinger shot, he just choked it.
Pyramid Head's ranged attack and zoning has far more counterplay and interactivity to it. Counterplay and interactivity generally means more fun for both sides (one of the main complaints of old Spirit was her standing still "mindgame", for example), which means less complains against Pyramid Head, even though he's stronger.
You don't see many people complaining about Oni or Blight even though they're both strong Killers, and that's because they're fun to play against in the same ways I mentioned Pyramid Head is.
Sure dodging his shoot was not realistic, but that was the whole point of the chain breaking mechanic. Survivors had a chance to break the chain after being shoot which is where his counterplay should be focused on.
Now he lost the one thing that helped him stick out against other range killers.
-
I wouldn't get my hopes up that the devs revert or alter changes they are planning on the ptb. They barely change the things they put on the ptb as it's mostly just to see if there's any bugs they missed to try to fix before chapter release.
-
He's going to be weaker than Trickster tbh.
-
The devs really love double nerfing killers with no compensation. TR increase is fine and the longer cd after ads would be fine by itself. But the quick scope was what set Deathslinger apart and now he'll br worse than Trickster.

Good Player will indeed try to make up for his mistakes and it ain't camping
That's like saying like good player use dead hard to cover up his mistakes in looping no they ain't good survivor they just pressed E to outplay killer same thing with camping stand still for the win
Good survivors use dead hard, because Good Survivors are the ones who use it effectively.
Shaming people for using things within the game just because you lost to it needs to stop.
-
This doesn't solve the issue about hackers being present in the game. Besides you already have the option to opt out of crossplay if you really don't want to face against pc players.

The survivors also being bad doesn't negate the lack of skill in the killer. Both sides are pretty explicitly bad in that scenario.
I rarely see survivors who complain about tunneling and camping actually have a point. It's just people looking for an excuse why they lost.
-
Survivors just call killers who do things they don't like bad, because they don't want to admit that they are bad themselves.
It's funny when survivors cry the killer camped or tunneled and that they are bad, but the scoreboard shows all 4 survivors died.

but i think after marking survivor when te timer of expose is activ it might work on it
It won't. The status effect has no timer on it similar to when Myers is in T3. The condition of the expose is tied to a condition (a survivor marked) similar to hex exposes from devour hope/noed or iri expose addons like Trickster's photocard or Deathslinger's coin.

Is that a thing? If so I haven't encountered that yet
I'm pretty sure I encountered that a few times. Chase a survivor at a tile, think I hear the box nearby and search around and it's nowhere to be found. But this was before the previous hotfix since I haven't played pinhead since 5.2.2
-
The change coming this mid chapter will make it reduce the expose status effect, but it won't reduce Ghostface's expose because the expose isn't on a timer as it's tied to the mark bar.

I run Calm Spirit. It works against Iron Maiden, Infectious Fright, and basically The Doctor's entire power. I can also pet the crows :)
Make Your Choice also causes you to scream now and denying that can confuse the killer who is exposed.

I don't think Trapper has ever been the worst killer in the game, that goes to Pig or Twins easily. The buff isn't really a buff either it's quality of life changes anyways, getting rid of useless add-ons and the purple bag was nerfed pretty hard.
He's getting an average of +1 trap spawning on the map and +1 trap in hand & carry cap. His base-kit is being buffed.
-
I've been playing for 3 years now. Rarely ever encountered hackers. At best I thought a few people were shady over the years, but never anything concrete.
This week alone I ran into 5 blatant hackers, 3 of which were all today. Makes the game unplayable and I'm just going to take a break.
-
While he's getting nice needed buffs, they don't exactly fix the issues that are keeping him down in the bottom tier of killers.
At the end of the day he's still a killer that has to lose gens to set up his power and even if survivors trigger his power it doesn't guarantee that he gets a down since he still has to reach the survivor.
-
I'm neutral towards them. I'm holding my judgement until we actually get a boon perk since there's so many people jumping on the "boon totems will be OP" train.

i can confirm steam did not go down
I was briefly disconnected from steam a couple hours ago and got kicked out the game due to "no internet connection". I at least was trying to queue up instead of getting thrown out of a game.
-
If Steam servers go down (even if briefly) you get d/c'd from DBD.
-
Do you play on Steam?
-
I just had a 4-man escape against a spirit and an earlier game was a 2 man escape. Someone crashed (I assume) at the end of the game and we couldn't go for the save.
Really abusing her.
-
Well it's a new survivor with the new boon totem perk we were told were coming this year in the anniversary stream. Trickster's chapter also had the survivor in part of the teaser material we got.

Funny considering they just announced survivors having to use theirs less.
OP is defending stretched res is another topic. So he clearly doesn't want the game to be a challenge.

Get a grip. Imagine crying about stretched res in 2021. You are losing your games because of other reasons than survivors using stretched res.
Imagine defending stretch res in 2021, but hey I guess you really need crutches besides the perks available to you in the game.

Apparently a lot of killers on the forums thinks they are high MMR LOL.
If what people suspect is true, there's a cap on how high mmr can go. Meaning that even if you aren't in the top 1% of skill, you can still have the same mmr as the top 1%. Which is the same issue the previous rank system had.
-
I want to be, but a dev or mod post earlier said it was just focused on unused, overpowered, or underpowered addons on various killers and not meant to be a full overhaul. So I don't want to get my hopes up for an overhaul and there only ends up being minor buffs to all his addons which doesn't address his issues.
-
I doubt the midchapter changes are actually using data from mmr. Many of these changes were likely being developed before the last chapter came out and mmr only released with the last chapter.
We won't likely see any mmr based changes until the next mid chapter.
-
I think it's weird they are doing both directional phasing and a visual indicator. Like why start off with such a double nerf and not even a compensation buff.

I don't see why myer's pink add-ons need a nerf to be honest. Since it's a pink add-on, now if it were a a purple or green add-on then yeah it would be massively OP. But I guess I could see them nerfing it, but I don't think they will for now.
I'm just offering an idea of what BHVR might realistically do to nerf those addons if they are getting hit. Doesn't sound like BHVR is doing a major overhaul on addons, just tweaks on a bunch of addons.
Like as much as I want to get excited by Ghostface's addon pass, he's probably going to have a similar situation where all but a few addons do anything for him.
-
@Trickstaaaaa said:
I doubt myer's will have his iconic add-ons nerfed for now, and mainly due to the add-on being a requirement to complete an achievement. The only add-ons that I think are getting nerfed for now... Is some of wraith and blight, and pig add-ons. Because come on let's be honest anyone that played killer for a significant amount of time knows which add-ons are powerful. I don't think they will nerf any pink add-ons however. I think most of the add-ons that they want to change are probably getting a buff tho.
They could add a requirement to the tomestone addons so he can't just kill survivors who haven't been hooked.
-
It's basically true and false.
Legion's Killer Instinct is based on his Terror Radius + detection range so if survivors are oblivious they don't get counted for his killer instinct.
Demogorgon's Killer Instinct is based on survivors being on his portals which inflicts oblivious status effect.
Nemesis Killer's instinct is based on survivors using vaccines which doesn't care if survivor is oblivious.
Twin's killer instinct is based on shrieking range of Victor which isn't affected by obliviousness.
-
You say they barely played the game, but getting 25K suggests otherwise. You can't feed camping killers and it's the fault of the survivors for letting insidious camping work as well as it did.
-
Removing the hook timer isn't going to stop camping.
It's valuable to the killer to force the next hook state if survivors leave the survivor on hook long enough and I don't see why that information needs to be removed from killers. If survivors don't give themselves enough time to unhook someone that is on them.
-
It's a perk that's only as good as the skill behind the survivor. It can be absolutely devastating is a skilled survivor uses it at the right time in the right area.
I don't necessary think there's a problem with the dead hard itself, but survivors have a lot of other strong perks that when combined can downright be frustrating to deal with, especially when it's on every survivor. But at least alone I don't think any particular survivor perk is too strong.

"attacking people who run a perk" Oh now it's "attacking" when you state a perk that 90% survivors run is OP because of the bs it provides. i hope you're kidding.
It's a crutch perk most all lean on because of the skill gap, sorry the truth hurts for some people. I've never really played this game with a DH build. Sometimes but i just don't like that kind of playstyle. There's other survivor builds i use that doesn't need that ridiculous advantage.
This is complete nonsense. You simply want to look down on other people for using perks in a game, because you can't deal with it. Strong things in the game exist to be used.
No one is less skilled for using stronger things. If you look at any pro-scene of any game that has one, pro-players are always using the strongest stuff.
-
Survivors literally dc over anything. Just because a few survivors dc from the game doesn't mean anything.
-
I ran into 1 hacker recently and I just recorded a video to submit as evidence as part of a report. He was another survivor so I just refused to do any form of altruistic actions towards him (not that his instant heals needed it). I just focused on doing gens and getting out.
Unless they are literally holding the game hostage, just finish out the match.
-
If the chain breaks or deathslinger breaks his chain and connects the hit against you while you are healthy you gain deep wounds.
If deathslinger breaks the chain himself and doesn't connect the hit with you, you take no damage.

What i remember is the perk was broken with that setup and a lot of survivor use the setup i said. During that time i was only playing freddy because he was my favorite killer so i cant say if the perk was bug or not when other killer was playing against it.
Even without that combination of perks, I wouldn't say old MoM was healthy for the game. It created a bigger divide between killers who could quickly down using their power and ignore MoM and killers who had to M1 survivors twice.

Old mettle of man was strong because you could chain it into a DH then a DS into a insta heal. If you could not chain it in those perk old mettle would not have broke the game
MoM was badly designed. It did basically nothing against killers like Huntress or Nurse (because of a bug) since they largely hit you with their power so they could ignore the perk entirely meanwhile low tier at the time killers like Wraith and Doctor could not play around it and basically had survivors running it a free hit against them.
-
Survivor mains always asking for easier games instead of getting better themselves.
-
Blight also received multiple changes since his release and is probably one of the most updated champions we've gotten recently. People need to stop bringing up blight as an example of the community being wrong about killer strength.
A better example would be Deathslinger who has received basically no changes since his ptb and people were calling him bad initially. He's not top 5 killer strong, but he's still good.
-
Survivors still make sounds running and keen killers can still hear you to follow until they blind wears off.

Unless it's thrill of the hunt lol
There's a few hexes you can ignore, but no one runs them.
Blood Favor, Crowd Control, Retribution.
-
It's really not worth keeping a hex up just for the sake of getting soul guard's unbreakable effect.
-
The issue is the rng of where the hooks are placed. It's not a bad perk, but it's hard to get consistent value from it.

DS,BT it doesn't matter because I'm a nurse.
Is there a hook on the hill.
let me set up camp
None of what you said I'd abuse. The killer isn't your friend who is there to make sure you have a good time.

Its not even that good lol
And even on Pinhead it's alright at best since at the end of the day Pinhead still has to be able to down you after picking up the box which given how inconsistent his power is can be very quick to forever.
-
I agree with you on M&A. I'm a bit tired of everyone always saying how strong M&A slinger is, but it doesn't really do much on maps where he already has LoS to shoot you unless survivors are just not paying attention in the first place.
-

I made a comment about it and was told I was ridiculous for saying the killer chose this map because of the bug... when the Killer that explicitedly said in chat they chose the map because of this bug. So much superiority complexes in this forum.
The killer still has no control over whether the game spawns the hex in that spot.

Pretty sure if you are cloaked and get blast mined you also suffer the light burn penalty.
