I had @Cornpopers_Evan get chased by a Ghostface while I chased Ghostface. I didn’t do much that round but I got my challenge done on my first try and I escaped.
I think my friends @Mushwin and @GrootDude might have found a way to cheese it. I think The Game map might be the best way to beat it!

This is true, but dbd has built in lore. Similar to arguments of Predator being a hunter of the worthy, and xenomorph only being killing machines, existing entity lore explicitly states that the entity will punish a killer until it complies with its wishes.
Funny enough, Pinhead may be the only one immune to normal methods, since he gets off on torture. Then again, he delights in suffering, which a standard trial should cause plenty of. Even then, the entity could possibly deprive him of any sensations for however long it took for force his cooperation, etc, etc.
And in the end, let's face it... They don't care THAT much about making sure everything retains a logical continuity.
I should also say, NONE of the killer's are here to kill. They exist to torture the Survivors. Their primary goal is to allow hope to build and then snuff it out slowly before sacrificing the survivor to the entity. That's why moris are meant to be rare, it's supposed to be a boon from the entity to allow a killer to actually kill.
You bring up some VERY good points, especially lore wise but, just on a personal level, I most certainly havemy preferred characters but that's just me

Well yes, I just saw 'The King' do another video, this time predicting Pinhead. During which he mentioned he hadn't seen the Hellraiser films. Now there's nothing wrong with not being familiar with a franchise being included in the game: I had never seen any of Stranger Things until the DLC was revealed.
But I am long-time Hellraiser fan, and Pinhead is my second hope behind Jason. But honestly, as much as I like the character and the first 3 films, Hellraiser/Pinhead is not this monumental franchise which is universally recognized. For almost the last 25 years, the Hellraiser offerings have been low-budget disappointments. Whilst always of a better quality and of higher regard, the franchise is now similar in the handling of the Puppet Master series: several films over a short space of time, which really go unnoticed except for diehard fans.
Pinhead is a great fit for DBD, but I am not sure that the Hellraiser franchise is the huge acquisition that the majority of people have been hankering after. Perhaps on a personal level for those at BHVR but not necessarily the wider audience.
The only one that fits the mantle and the hype is Jason.
But if we get Pinhead, I would be pleased. But Jason's my number 1.
Yeah, nothing against the Hellraiser franchise or the people who want it but I've personally never cared for the franchise. Plus, I've also always seen Pinhead(let's be real, if it is Hellraiser, then Pinhead is the killer) as more of a viscous tormentor rather than a active seeking killer.

Oh yeah, it's not a terrible film. It's just hasn't got much to build on and around. If we had 2009 Jason, it might limit things like new skins etc.
2010 was the same situation. As there aren't any (and won't be) any sequels, there is less to work around.
But in any event, if that's as good as we can get, it's better than nothing.
Yeah, the 2009 Jason would have SO few options cosmetic wise to pick from. Unless, of course, the license holders just say "don't care, go nuts" then the door is super wide open. I'm gonna stop talking about this now because, sadly, with the recent evidence that popped up, I think it might be a Hellraiser chapter, which is ever so slightly disappointing but I'd rather have the disappointment now rather than later. Ultimately, it's alright.

I really don't care about anything but cross progression, I just want all the rift cosmetics that I'm not able to get on pc and all my cosmetics
I've got a feeling that's also planned but I personally believe they'll get crossplay in first.

Well if that's the case and it's just Pamela and the boy who drowned...I think we can get by in DBD.
Yeah, I can sadly see Jason getting about as much backstory as Demo. Whatever would help get him in though!
-
Lots of love for the roadmaps which is completely understandable!

I was just going to mention how funnily enough, Victor DOESN'T own the rights to the "Voorhees" name or CCL but sadly people already mentioned it. ;_;

I try, Jason has always been one of my big dreams for this game so of course I'm gonna root for a F13 chapter! Only two more days until we find out. Super excited! :D
-
As much as I want this to be real, I gotta say I'm team fake for now. Not to mention, I'd be disappointed. Not because it's Allen but because we could have FINALLY had a HUGE license chapter NOT be leaked. I'd be sad, honestly! Also, like everyone is asking, where did these come from?
Anyways, I wanna hear from @MegMain98 on this!

I still think Candyman is the most possible candidate purely because of all the circumstantial evidence surrounding him, I just cannot see it being Jason because he is in legal hell, I cannot see it being Pennywise because his character conflicts with the Entity, unless he is a completely new Pennywise that is different to the ones we see in IT, not to mention Stephen King is very wary of his properties in the hands of other creators, I don't see it being Xenomorph, the teaser you showed me yourself is not reminiscent of anything from the Alien series, not to mention, unlike Demodoggy, the Xenomorph would look rather out of place in the rogues gallery of characters that DBD has, I also don't see it being Pinhead because nothing we have been shown points to it possibly being him, LeaksByDaylight possibly eluded to the fact it might be him but they aren't exactly the most reliable source of information given how much they've changed their stance for this killer alone.
As much as I wish we got SOME sorta hint, I personally believe the skulls are nothing more than a nice cheeky reference to the tally marks and that's it, plus, apparently one of the devs have said the skulls mean nothing to the new chapter. The black ooze is also simply there to stream down and create the tally marks themselves. The color scheme is also something I don't think means anything, just colors that complement each other and the hook is also just a coincidence. I mean, if it does turn out to be Candyman, yeah, I'll be slightly disappointed but Tony Todd is awesome and I wouldn't piss and moan for long. I of course have my preferences(Jason and Xeno) but would ultimately be ok with it.
-
Jason has always been one of my top picks, so, naturally, it's Jason for me.
-
@Peanits said:
The stream is going to reveal the next chapter, so the PTB is for sure going to be sometime after the stream, otherwise it would spoil the reveal.
I know you probably don't know but will the chapter reveal bring tears? xD
-
Iron Will and STBFL!
-
For me, it would be a very "oh, ok" kind of moment. After watching the first film in full, I can say it's a very good film and Tony Todd is awesome but, to me, with how much hype is behind this chapter, I'd be a bit disappointed honestly having a killer iconic on more of a cult/horror movie lover level. Plus, I still personally think BHVR wants to get as many of the REAL heavy hitters for the general publics attention before moving onto cult status.
Candyman I think will be a exception though for chapter 17 to coincide with the new movie!
-
From what it looks like, we'll be lucky to even get a teaser via tweet like the Stranger Things chapter.

- Jason (most excited) (Love the character, though im sure they would only be able to use the mask like they did with ghost face what with the whole lawsuit not allowing anyone to reference the first movie and jasons mum)
- Xeno
- Pennywise
- candy man
- Pyramid head(least) (not familiar with the licence and it doesnt seem too interesting to me.)
Well, they actually CAN use the name Jason Voorhees because Victor Miller doesn't own his name or the name Camp Crystal Lake.
-
My heart wants Jason so I'm going with the big boy himself!

Silence of the Lambs was a Psychological Thriller. It wasn't Horror to the Core.
You named me 2 movies. While the 80's had Michael, Jason, Freddy, Chucky.
The 70's had Dario Argento movies like Deep Red, Susperia etc.
70's had Alien, Halloween, Jaws and The Exorcist.
90's basically just had It, Candyman and Misery.
I just don't understand why people wouldn't want Candyman.
I can't say for sure it's Candyman, I have no idea. But I have my theories as to why it's him.
I'm keeping an open mind though.
Don't forget about Scream!
-
Sorry but I believe the devs have said somewhere already that the skulls have NOTHING to do with the new chapter. They're simply a nice little reference to the tally marks of the logo. Not only that but if you compare the two, the anniversary skulls match up near perfectly with the tally mark skulls. Whoever at the art department did a great job though, especially with the black ooze that is pouring out to make the tally marks themselves.
-
From most to least excited
- Jason- C'mon, he's the king of slashers
- Xenomorph- Xeno's are awesome through and through, a Alien is my third most dreamed about chapter @MegMain98
- Pennywise- I'd definitely take Penny, I really enjoyed IT chapter 1.
- Pyramid Head- I haven't played the SH franchise but know of PH, isn't he supposed to simply be just a manifestation? Still, would be cool
- Candyman- The ultimate "ok" for me, I do really enjoy the first film(haven't seen the others) but I personally think there's much bigger ip grabs to go for. Still, I'd be fine with Candyman, oh, plus, Tony Todd is awesome!
-
Yeah, basically agree but just one thing. Like someone already said, it's a full chapter so we won't have another Ghostface situation, yeah! :D And like @MonsterInMyMind said, I really believe they'll talk about prestige and devotion rewards and hopefully rank rewards as well!
I'm rooting for Jason this chapter and in anticipation of him possibly(strong emphasis on this word) being added, here's a super sweet video to help celebrate it!

I can't see it being Jason due to lawsuits, although Alien is a decent shout.
Actually, it can, they'd need to make absolutely ZERO references to Pam or the "the boy who drowned" part of the first film but it COULD happen. Just with quite a lot of jumping through legal loops. :/
This video explains it FAR better then I can.

If they get Jason, they should make a ton of objects in the environment which he can interact with, and once he has already hooked someone twice, he can do custom Moris on them with brutal kill animations instead of a third hook.
I was actually thinking that if they did get Jason, he could have 4 unique mori animations for each survivor. I know it won't happen because it would be a insane amount of work but it'd be awesome none the less.

That said though, if it IS Alien, then color me EXCITED AS #########!!!

That would be hilarious to see! With that said, I think MC is probably so far down on the totem poll that you couldn't even see him if you were to look down from the top. xD

I really need to watch the It movies. Everybody keeps saying how Pennywise is like the entity. But that doesn't match everything I've heard outside of this forum. Everything else says he's basically a space demon.
Think of him like Cthulhu or something very Lovecraft, a being that has been here since the beginning and has a ######### ton of power!

“Emotional milestone” might not be a chapter clue at all. It could just be how happy and accomplished they feel that the game is still alive, kicking, and supported 4 years on.
We won't know until May 26th but until then, I do personally believe that means it'll be something huge for chapter 16 and a emotional coaster when it's revealed. That's my hope for it, anyways.

Safe to ignore the Blob. Can't recall the exact quote, but I seem to remember that there wouldn't be any more "monster" type Killers afer Demogorgon who would need unique skeletons. DbD is mainly human Survivors and human Killers in the lore, we was lucky enough to get my little Rawr-gon.
Nosferatu, a vampire Killer could work and can have a multitude of powers. Paralyzing eyes, looking at him slows/stuns you. Transformations, unlikely for animals but mist/fog is an option. Vampire lore is VERY open for DbD.
Island of Lost Souls, I would LOVE to see a mutant or man-beast Killer! Can't think how it wouldn't fit in DbD.
Karloff or other Universal classics. Anything is possible really. Though I have my doubts on getting a big name movie monster like Frank or Imhotep.
They'll probably make more monsters IF given the unique skeletal rig. I also really can't recall them ever saying they won't do monsters again.

It would be insane to see two killers and two survivors in one chapter release. It would definitely jack up the price though, probably to about 12 dollars.

Those seem like ideas that have been long in the works; since before the lawsuit, at least. It may be that the companies contracted to make them are just going through the motions at this point. I mean, they were probably already paid by Cunningham so they are going to make them. Lawsuit winners get the spoils.
Honestly, I'm just happy to be receiving ANY F13 content, like, at all.

But if he created Jason & Friday The 13th, then, as copyright holder, all subsequent Friday The 13th's would ALSO be part of the same franchise, which he would own.
As for the board game; I don't know. Maybe they took a risk and got permission from one of the two parties involved? If that party wins the lawsuit, the board game continues. If not, the other party, as winner, can ask for a cut of the profits or to even have the board game signed over to them.
Well apparently, at least what is said in the video(please watch it, seriously) Victor has basically won but only the rights to the og film and only in the US market, at least to my understanding.

I honestly don't care too much for Jason imo trapper fills his role quite well if not infact he seems to be molded with Jason in mind.
All he is really missing is a hockey mask. And as far as abilities go Jason could somewhat teleport. That's really the only difference.
I disagree, the devs most certainly could find some unique powers for Jason and to be fair, yes, Trapper is most certainly off brand Jason and as much as I love him, I'd gladly take the real deal any day. Plus, like my friend @MegMain98 said, Trapper is really only Jason in aesthetic and lore wise because I can only recall Jason using traps in the remaake.

I think all this roster is missing is a
"The Monster" and just for good measure and old man Abraham van Helsing as our survivor
I'd love to eventually see some Universal monsters but I'd prefer some other licenses first.

Yeah...and what about Michael? Isn’t his powers basically the same thing? Except he is even more immortal than Jason since Myers has NEVER died and Jason died in Part 4 to Jarvis. So no...Jason is not immortal at least until Part 6.
As I said...Trapper is loosely based on Jason aesthetic wise but Jason used traps ONCE in the entire franchise and that was in the remake. How is Trapper’s power ANYTHING like what Jason did in his movies? If anything Jason’s power would be based more around the stalking killer that can walk around with no terror radius, not Trapper. It would be boring to have another stalking killer but I would give them the benefit of the doubt to find a way to creatively make him unique.
The devs have already stated that Jason would have an open invitation in the game if they could ever get legal rights. What would his power be? I dunno, beats me. It still doesn’t change the fact that if they could ever get Jason in the game they would jump on that faster than a fat man seeing a birthday cake.
Thank you, this is the reason why I believe we'll eventually get Jason someday. He, like Pennywise, has a permanent invitation to this game. Also, like you said, have zero idea what his power would be because I'm not creative enough! xD

I don't think it will be Jason. If anything the mask or face in the year 4 info most resembles one of the new candyman posters for myself. Since they would not be exact so its obvious we know the black, gold could represent the black honeycomb on the poster in the pic below and the gold the honey from the bees.
I'm sorry twisted, I just don't think the skull means much of anything, other than a nice reference to the tally marks.
