Yup, like you said, he'd be Jason but not at the same time. They'd probably also give us a camp but not crystal lake.

Trapper is loosely based on Jason. Both wear a mask and use a machete. Billy was based on Leatherface but that doesn’t mean we couldn’t have both.
But what people fail to realize is that Jason rarely used traps in his movies. He snuck up on people and killed them in unique ways. The only time I can recall him using a bear traps was in the 2009 remake.
And the devs have already stated that Jason has an open invitation into the game if they could ever get the legal rights.
So no, Trapper is not Jason when you could have the real deal.

Pennywise based on the "emotional" comment as Jason seems too unlikely, though that certainly would be emotional if it were true. Scott's "Not Candyman" statement is another step towards Pennywise as well. It is possible however that the use of the word emotional was used for marketing or an oversight.
Candyman based on the various little clues we have gotten, plus the pending theatrical release of Candyman. As it was pushed back, the release cycle may not have been able to change for it, thus Candyman still makes sense from that perspective.
If I had to pick a third and fourth I would say Jason (most emotional) and Pinhead (classic and relatively iconic, plus more chains!) - Xenomorph or Pyramid Head a distant 5th and 6th. But of course - anything is possible.
Very sadly, if Scott is right with what he says, then the Xenomorph has also been deconfirmed. ;_;

Exactly, what would be a huge emotional milestone for them? It could be Pennywise, because of how attached the team is to IT and Jason, because of how HUGE of a milestone it would be for the game. It could be marketing but hopefully not.

It's still considered one of the greatest horror movies of all time, and it did insanely well on its release. I would absolutely love to see the Nostromo as a map it would look crazy.
Not only that, but Jason and Pennywise are a little too similar to killers we already have imo. Trapper is supposed to be like DbD's own 'Jason', and we have The Clown already so it wouldn't make sense to add a second one.
The Demogorgon opened the door for more non-human killers, and the Stranger Things chapter opened the door for more sci fi horror. So far every realm that is in the game is somewhere on Earth, there's nothing "out of this world" yet (literally).
Also can someone link me to where they said its confirmed NOT to be Candyman because I need this reassurance. I'm not opposed to having him in the game but if they want to do something that's truly iconic for their 4 year anniversary, Candyman really isnt that iconic. They had me worried.
Scott Jund recently has straight out said "it's not Candyman" and seeing as how he's gotten the last four killers correct and knew about them before hand, there could be some credibility to him saying that but, we'll just have to wait and see.

Yet again, ANOTHER update!
A new article from bloody disgusting today shines even more light on this situation. MCote has said "This last chapter is a very emotional milestone for us and we cannot wait to share it with you". Now, to me, this is sounding like a HUGE chapter on the scale of Stranger Things. I'm personally super excited to see this all leads up to. You can read the full article below!

Welp, because you can only but these new characters for auric cells only it's basically 99.9% confirmed to be a licensed chapter. I honestly LOVE the fact we have zero idea WHO or WHAT it could be come chapter 16. I do agree about Jason though, sadly. :(
Like I always say, I do want another monster killer so IF it is a Alien chapter, she'll be my new main! >:) Also, for Terminator, you'd think they would but, if they don't, they've worked with FOX before so it's definitely a maybe!

Tony Todd already confirmed he's done voice work for two games, he just was not allowed to say what. Pair that with the fact he followed both DBD and BHVR the same day the new Candyman trailer dropped...I think it's all but confirmed he's gonna be a killer in DBD. It's not a question of if, it's a question of when.
Because Candyman movie was delayed till Fall, we might see Candyman moved to Chapter 17 and 16 could be another licensed killer. Who knows.

I get it, plus, they actually get a lot of cosmetics and the archive lore expansion but the novelty of playing as these characters which are so rarely seen in games(for some anyways), is super awesome to me. So, like I said, I get it but I'll agree to disagree.

I definitely think it's because, complete speculation right now, this was all a lead up to a Candyman chapter in June but because the movie was delayed, so is the chapter. Complete speculation on my part though!

Mainly, from the way I see it, if I were Capcom, I'd definitely want them to appear in the game that would get more interest in whatever they have planned for the future because, as much as I enjoy resistance, there's just not much there currently and with rumours of support being dropped by January and the playerbase not being that big, I'd want to have a cross promotion deal going on. That's just how I view it though. :/

Jason would always be awesome but with the Lawsuit still going it'll be a bit before he gets added. I'm under the firm belief that Jason will be in DBD before the game dies.
My personal ones I want are My bloody Valentine chapter or a Xenomorph Chapter. My Bloody Valentine simply because I want too kill people as a miner, and Xenomoprh because It's my favorite series.
Boy I feel you on the naming thing, the IT would sound awful! xD But I think they could get around that by saying that it's not being controlled but it's more like a "guest" situation, IT can enter and leave the Entity's realm as it pleases because it's on equal level.

A Alien chapter is definitely a top 3 dream chapter for me so seeing as how it could possibly be our next chapter is super hype for me! I do love MBV though so I do want that as well someday.

Haha, I understand. And I'm not saying Paulie is necessarily wrong, and of course it's fine to speculate without any real basis to it. All I'm saying is that the basis Paulie is presenting for believing what he does doesn't really hold much weight, so I wouldn't be inclined to assume that the next killer is licensed just based on what he's saying.
Yeah, won't lie, he is putting a LOT of faith in Scott's word but he definitely seems to think his voice holds weight. We'll just have to wait and see, we all have our hopes and wants in the end afterall. ^_^

I still don't believe that whole thing. Resistance is so vastly different from DBD that I just can't compare it, other then the 4v1 aspect. Plus, they did partner with a competing game before, history could repeat itself which I'd love.

Let's assume that Scott does know who the next killer is, and for argument's sake we'll assume that the killer is female and non-licensed. He doesn't need to understand what that name means to be able to claim that, especially since he just compared his knowledge of the new killer to his knowledge of Deathslinger before he came out, and it sounds like the name was all he had there as well.

Now to be completely fair to Paulie, that's just the nature of speculation, you could be right(like when he talked about Ghostface and especially ST) get stuff completely wrong(Pinhead) or land in-between, like his smasher speculation. Now, with Scott, I'll be honest, seeing how he's known about and hinted about the last four killers, I'm just kinda rolling with what he says. You make a very good point on him seemingly only knowing the name and not much else. With that said though, with the way he was actively mentioning how people were just trying to ask about specific license's until they nail it, does personally l lead me to believe it's licensed. That's just me personally though, we'll see soon enough though!

Honestly, robots and androids never even crossed my mind. A Terminator would actually be super cool. I'll always have a soft spot for monsters though so, of course, I'd personally want Nemesis or a Xenomorph or whatever other licensed monster more but a Terminator definitely has a spot. Plus BHVR has worked with FOX before.

Yeah, this virus screwed up so much, we were pretty close to the end of the lawsuit as well. Here's hoping we could see a new monster coming for the next chapter.
