-Chucky could theoretically happen, he's certainly iconic and popular enough, but he'd require a huge gameplay change that I'm not sure would work.
-Jason is still in legal hell but apparently that's coming to a close soon-ish. Now that his game's dead in the water (a lot like him, haha) I think he's one of the likeliest licenses next year.
-Five Nights at Freddy's is in the same boat as Jason in that it's probably not happening this year but I think it'll be a big player next year. You can complain that it's a kiddy series or whatever but it's one of gaming's biggest horror franchises, belongs to a dev who would surely be OK with BHVR using his IP, and is still pretty popular 6 years after creation.
-Resident Evil isn't hugely likely in my eyes. Capcom are seemingly really open with their IPs guest starring in other properties but RE Resistance does exist and Capcom may not be up for promoting a rival asymmetric horror game.
-Steven King has said no to BHVR several times when they've asked for Pennywise, if I'm remembering correctly. If that's true what makes the next times any different? It's a shame that he's not more open to collaborate because IT (as well as The Shining and Carrie) would both fit excellently into this game.
-Leprechaun would be really really funny but he runs into the Chucky problem of being too short to work without drastically changing gameplay.
-Psycho/Norman Bates is really cool in theory but I'm not really sure what he'd do to make him unique.
-Jeepers Creepers would have been an excellent choice were it not for the fact that the director of the films is a convicted pedophile and doesn't deserve to have his work put into what is becoming the Horror Hall of Fame.
-I'd love a Final Destination survivor. Not much you can do killer-wise.
-I think I heard something about a Hack/Slash crossover? Not familiar with it at all but it could be cool I guess?

I think the map would be absolutely amazing, easily my favorite part! Despite that, I know Jack is iconic and all but, I may be remembering this incorrectly, isn't he just a completely normal guy who cracked? I don't know, just seems a tad bit boring to me. If it gets added one day though, I'll have no complaints. :)

I'm going to, once again, go out on a limb here and say that, while I don't particularly WANT it(it's cool if you do, just think there are more unique picks out there) I've got a feeling it's Candyman. It'll probably be based on the original film with Helen as the survivor and, obviously, Candyman as the killer. As I said though, still think there are FAR more unique licenses they could grab.

Like I said before, I don't particularly WANT Candyman(TT is awesome though) but I've just got a huge feeling it's gonna be him. The number of cosmetics for both characters is really throwing me off though. So either they got a VERY lenient license to work with OR it's been a original chapter all along and they just haven't put in the shard amount yet.

Yeah, that's the reason why I barely visit the forums anymore. Say what you will about seeing chapter speculation posts but they are FAR more entertaining and unique then a lot of these posts these days. :/

Assassins Creed did it just fine. Jack the Ripper is far too old to offend anyone (hopefully). Its not like its like Bundy, Dahmer or Gacy. The Ripper is a mysterious figure, and I think an original twist on the legend would be amazing
It would still be a glorification on the mutilation that he committed and I just DON'T want that, in any shape, with any actual serial killer. Like I said though, if they just gave the title of Jack The Ripper to a OC they create, I'd be fine. Just please, PLEASE don't give any honor to the actual people who committed such acts.

Seriously though, I'd like to see any sorta animal like killer in the future. That said, I sadly think it'll be a VERY long time before that happens. Now, a man spider I could potentially see and it could be... horrifying.
Just imagine something like this but on two legs, absolutely wretched!

I personally don't want them to EVER go near actual serial killers, I think it would be too taboo and shine a pretty negative light on BHVR if they were to do such a thing. However, if a killer was added with Jack the Ripper as a title I wouldn't be opposed to that.

If I have to pick from these four options then I'd definitely go for Jason and Alien. However, my ultimate dream chapter is a Resident Evil one. I also have a LOT of others but it would take far too long to write down. I can tell you two I definitely don't want though. A Wrong Turn chapter and ESPECIALLY a Jeepers Creepers chapter. I'd probably un-install if they even where even remotely serious with hinting at a Jeepers Creepers chapter.

Oh, to piggy back off of what SCP said, both chapter 17 and 18 have a extremely high likelihood of being licensed. Keep that hush hush though. ;)

Like @Weck said that should be the actual release, I'd like to add though, the stream showing off what it could be should happen mid to late this month and same with the PTB for the next chapter. So, the actual reveal should, honestly, be coming fairly soon. Can't wait to see what next big license we get in the game will be! :D

Completely agree with you, as a American, hearing when someone is from a different place is much more memorable then hearing someone is from the states. For example, about a week ago, I got to talk with someone from Italy and it was super cool while I've meet a few from the states and, while cool, wasn't as NEARLY as remarkable.

Yet again, before this is taken down, I'll just say this. The codenames basically mean nothing except for the one time with England but that's a stretch. And to repeat what has already been said, the F13 franchise is sadly still in legal hell. However, if they see a license that can be mended into the world of DBD, and, more importantly, will make a LOT of money, they'll seek it out and acquire it.

It's not who I particularly want BUT I definitely think it's Candyman. With that said, you had choices up there that I'd MUCH rather have for chapter 17 OR even chapter 18 but, this isn't a "want" thread, it's a "who do you predict thread?".

I'll be honest, I liked the first film, it's a good movie but I just personally don't really care either way. The only REAL BIG positive I can see coming from a Candyman chapter would be getting to see and(hopefully) hear Tony Todd.

You see, this is how I feel they ultimately decide on licensed content. I feel like it goes like this.
1) Money, they want to know that whatever license they acquire WILL bring money both for them and the license holder. If they feel like a license could bring in quite a lot of money, they WILL seek it out. They are ultimately a business at the end of the day.
2) Gameplay, they look to see if whatever license either they or the community has been asking for can fit within the confines of the game. However, they will bend it to make the license fit.
3) Lore/Story, arguably, the least important. Of course they want to make sure the license will fit lore wise BUT this is the most easily flexible. We have seen them do it before and they WILL do it again for future license content.
So, yes, Pennywise does fit AND they've even seeked the license before but was basically told "now's not the right time." and, like Jason, IT has a permanent invitation to DBD. It's all up to SK to stop his whole "I don't want partnerships with games." crap to actually begin this process.

Yup, love them, they're what really brings the hype for me, especially if they're licensed because getting to see some of these fan favorite IP's make it in and get to be playable is a amazing feeling.

I just want to say, I'm neither for OR against this. If it happens, cool. If he doesn't get added, cool. If they've been in discussion with Scott and it's Chap 17(HIGHLY doubtful) then, once again, cool. But, ultimately, I do want to state my viewpoint on this whole Springtrap/FNAF chapter "debate" going on and rebuttal a few of your points, with all due respect, of course. Although, I'd be happy with a lot of licensed content atm.
1) I haven't been up to date either with the franchise either but honestly, the original story from the first three are grizzly enough. It deals with multiple child murders, getting crushed to death by suits and having springs pierce through your flesh and then a rotten corpse in a suit to do the same to you. Sounds horror enough to me. Plus, as much as I love ST's, I can admit, it's a bit of everything in terms of genres but the horror is slightly above a Amblim picture. Also, if you look at Springtrap, I think with a bit of realistic tweaking, could fit in quite nicely and be SUPER unique. I also forgot to add, like you said, horror IS about as subjective as it goes. Right up there with comedy.
2) I have and ALWAYS will disagree with this. I love my licensed content and it's all up to the license holders to just how much creativity their allowed to have with both powers and cosmetics. I also disagree with Pig and, now, Bubba. Pig's is incredibly unique with how the bear traps are and because of the rework, Bubba is now FAR more unique then he was. I would like to see more mythology's explored in the future though but, yet, to be 100% honest, the licensed content is really the only stuff that REALLY gets me hyped-up anymore. This is 100% just opinionated though.
3) Bugs and glitches will always be apart of this game, even if they had a operation: health type of deal, it probably just wouldn't matter in the end because, just like R6S, they always come back.
All just a matter of different opinions though.

As for Nea, while I'll admit we don't really have a specific time frame for Nea in her lore (it's as likely that she's canonically a rebellious tagging teen from 2008 as she is a rebellious tagging teen from 2021) I find it highly unlikely she was spray painting buildings and ditching high school to go to skate parks in the early 20th Century; which is when Nurse is from.
Nea was taken from the same place as Sally Smithson; not the same time.
Given that we know that the Entity and her Realms exist outside of time and that she can take whoever she wants from whenever she wants; Nea could easily have always been from 2021.

As for overall lore significance, there's never been anything stopping the Entity taking people from vastly different worlds.
It's entirely possible that Mad Max Jeff is canon; just in an alternate world variant of the one our beloved fat metal Jesus is from.

TL;DR - Jeff is inspired by Mad Max and Nea isn't from the same time as Nurse.
These outfits are probably just intended to look cool, but if they are part of the lore they aren't saying anything that has already been possible.
Basically this, a lot of people seem to forget that probably all of the killers/survivors we get are from different dimensions, timeliness & alternate reality's. Even when we have the same survivor in a lobby, it's not the exact same person. It looks like them and they share the same name but are from who knows where and are a completely different "person".
Anyways, off of that, like @TheRockstarKnight said, they're probably just intended to look great(they do) but correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the devs say that skins have no impact on the lore? Excluding licensed characters, of course, because mostly the stuff they pull from them is from the franchise. Like I said, please correct me if I'm wrong.

That was one I forgot to mention, I also have a insanely deep appreciation for any and all types of animations and art. Oh also, @Umbrae_pk, it's sweet knowing that you come back every now and then just for us. Can't blame you at all for stepping out a bit from the forums, it's a lot of the same things over and over again. :/

I'm thrilled to hear that a LOT of animations are being looked into and changed because I definitely think some need it. I know it might sound sadistic but I'm also happy to see that they are, at least, looking at adding more gore because some mori's could be so much more impactful with it but that's just me.

Welp, I'm a super boring person but here goes nothing!
- Went on a whale watch around the age of 8.
- I was chasing snakes around when I was about 5 and still do when I can.
- Love sharks, reptiles and... basically anything with a lot of teeth.
- When I was little, I dreamed I would become a astronaut, a paleontologist, movie director, actor, biologist, CDC worker, anything dealing with the video game industry and a few others I can't recall currently.
- Long time OW fan despite me easily getting pissed at it.
- Been playing DBD since at least the first month for the console release.
- Still own my original Xbox and PS2!
- Still thinking about what to do with my life.
I'll come back with more interesting facts later, if I think of any.
