Thanks guys. I guess it is a good time to be a survivor tonight.
I will play Escape from Tarkov until this is fixed.
-
Simple addition of the word sacrifice would have cleared it up for those that were confused.
It was worded badly.
-
I only play for daily challenges at this point.
The new tome will bring some joy, but otherwise there are many other games that do not cause the frustration of this one.
-
Perks over clothing. 1800 hours and I have never prestiged and I still have characters I need all perks on. I am going to make it an end game goal if I am still playing this game and have all perks all characters.
If you decide to do it, please make sure at least one killer you like has BBQ. The prestige killer might not see it for a LONG time.
-
@beatddb I agree a good SWF is the strongest thing in the game.
Best advice I can offer you is switch targets often, wound them all, and wait for them to make a mistake when they try to complete gens wounded as many of them do.
At worst you will have lots of points.
-
I have beaten SWF with Clown. It is possible with any killer as long as they make mistakes and you play to your perks.
Maps obviously factor in, but I really am tired of people saying only 1 or 2 killers are "viable" when all are capable of achieving victory.
We are not supposed to win every match, and none of the killer cast is capable of that.

when i play nurse, even when i got kills, i don't feel like it's because of my skill, it's because how big the mistakes survivors made.
That applies to most of the killer cast. If survivors always make the right choices, most of them will escape.
This is the power of a good SWF, when all of them are making the right choices based on communication.

72 hours of no DBD and I feel great. I took long breaks from this game before, and this looks like another one.
It is strange that I find Escape from Tarkov more relaxing than DBD.
-
Nothing new about it. This has been an issue for too long. We do have light at the end of the tunnel.
For now it is just a part the game.
-
Changing the struggle action to mouse wheel would make it a non issue if you are on pc.
-
I agree with OP that Ruin can be oppressive for new players but if you just work through it, you can get the gen done fairly quickly as long as you stop until the smoke clears after missing a great.
Working through Ruin for at least 1 gen before searching is probably the best idea unless you are right on top of it.
-
I love Cross Penn Asylum in both roles. For me it is the perfect arena of death with some amazing plays possible from the building.
-
It is nuts how Legion gets Brutal Killer for the same exact type of match that would give Entity Displeased for any other killer. I have got merciless multiple times with one escaping via hatch with Legion.
I find running Thanto seems to encourage cleansing unless they are SWF, and a good SWF messes with every killer's score.
-
As each season progresses and more people rank up the queues for low ranks seems to get harder to fill. It is supposed to pair you with people in a six rank range, but many are already higher than that since they have been playing so much. Next Rank reset is in 9 days.
That being said, the queues this bloodhunt have been pretty bad even for me with survivor and killer currently at ranks 6 and 7. I gave up early this morning and do not regret it.
Way too many of my playtime hours since 2016 were waiting in lobbies and loading screens. I hope they figure it out eventually.
PS: If you are waiting longer than 5 minutes, just remake your lobby. It works for me sometimes but not sure if related.
-
I have been having good Clown games lately. Merciless victories even. I did it with Corrupt, Monitor, BBQ, and Pop.
Do I win every match? No. But no killer is supposed to do that.
I am sure he will eventually get some love, but he is far from useless.
-
Yeah I gave up for now. I would rather spend my time on something productive.
-
There are players with thousands of hours of experience at all ranks.
Some because they do not play very much, others because they do not like facing good killers.
If you derank you will just be facing the other derankers.
Might as well do your best, and if you fail you will derank anyway.
-
The other benefit of Stridor is survivors who are not injured breathe a hell of a lot louder.
-
I really like Legion. They deliver points and pips on the regular. I destroy with Pig plenty. Nurse is still good in the right hands + using add ons. Fred and Spirit are killing the hell out of everyone.
Killers have it better than we have had it in a long time.
That being said, killer can a frustrating role but that is by design.
We are not supposed to win every match.

Its a perk that only players who are not skilled enough to apply gen pressure use.
Well, it is also used by really good killers who want a cherry on top.
-
Hex perks are just not my thing. I would rather have 4 perks all game. Games go faster, but I do not see that as a negative.
As a survivor, Ruin barely slows my pace. The ever present use of Ruin has created an army of survivors who not only expect it, but power through it and destroy it quickly.
Ruin is a newbie destroyer though.
-
Players who were good with old nurse are still good with new nurse.
They just have to use add ons now like the rest of the killers.
-
Killer waiting time was not as bad for me. I assume most are trying to play survivor.
-
Beautiful skin!
-
My problem with these threads is killers obviously believe in Ruin and think it is needed as a perk, but still ask for it to be even BETTER.
It has to have a downside, and there are perk combos you can run to protect it if you want to be a hex guarding killer.
-
Stop relying on a gamble perk. Learn how to juggle survivors properly and you will be formidable and have 4 perks all game.
-
Agreed. Sometimes it works out best if you cleanse, especially if she has Thanto.
You just have to be extra careful when she is glowing red and try to dodge like you would a Huntress.
-
It would be nice if we had more players going into matches willing to fight until the end on both sides.
I cannot even count how many times I escaped on death hook, or killed all the survivors with 1 gen left.
Never give up.
-
Sabo is part of the game even if an event is going on. It is relatively rare these days, and the event hooks give you minimal bp anyway. Just smile and keep on trucking.
-
I think many people are pumping blood points into characters they are not actually playing at the moment.
I only have the offerings on 2 of my killers and putting all my bp into survivors. If I play survivor I am playing the offerings but I am usually the only one. When everyone does use them, the bp gains are decent.
-
Took me a few days since I only play a few hours at a time. I enjoyed thinking of different builds to accomplish the tasks. I want more! I need goals.
-
@Aven_Fallen I am aware of that, but since sacrifice was not mentioned I assumed it meant using Mori, Rancor, Mike, or Devour Hope.
I was pleasantly surprised when I got it from a 4k. Glad I left the challenge selected!
-
They gave us a huge patch, double bp weekend, a cool new feature to encourage us to try out different builds, and on top of that gave us an event to celebrate Halloween.
Thank you BHVR!
-
I am enjoying using perks I usually do not use, and trying out new things.
-
I personally enjoy having goals other than the daily challenges.
I have no intention of purchasing the pass, but I can still earn bp and some cosmetics. I can try things I usually do not do. I am already thinking of how to sacrifice people in EGC and what perks I will bring to get it done.
It is obvious they put a lot of work into this, and I am enjoying it. The game needed something new.
-
No surprise about Freddy kill rate. Traps and teleporting on one killer who can slow the game to a crawl.
Thanks for the notes! @Fibijean
-
Self care is a selfish perk and backfires often. It may be my favorite Killer perk. :P
-
It is frustrating that what we can see for ourselves in matches is so flippantly dismissed.
I have destroyed SWF who were arguing amongst themselves, but when SWF are cooperating and efficiently taking on different roles, it makes the killer role so much more difficult.
I know it is not going away, but I really wish killers got BP bonuses for the trouble and that we had some kind of indication at the end of the match as to how many players were SWF.
-
Buff killer bloodpoints for facing SWF and give an indication at the end of the match how many players were SWF without naming them directly.
Killers will be amazed with they get rolled by solos, and feel a bit better about the defeat when a 4 man stack teabags out the gate.
This would at least acknowledge the imbalance and make facing them less stressful.
-
Please stop beating the dead horse. 6 server discussions started by you and counting.
This is the direction the game is going and we will all have to get used to the new normal.
-
@yobuddd The only map I really hate as Hag is Blood Lodge.
-
I have played Hawkins Hag a few times without Ruin and killed everyone before the 3rd generator popped.
I personally feel it is Hag's strongest map, assuming you are not chasing with her. If you just focus on traps and phantasm hits you will do very well.. assuming survivors do not have flashlights.
Hag rule for me is chase until I break one pallet, and then I am back to trap setting and patrolling.
Now if I could only get Hawkins more often...
-
@Rattman I understand but that is an older map that has not been reworked yet.
-
@Rattman I agree they should not be out in the open like they sometimes are on the older maps. Map reworks will be a nice change.
-
I just wish the lit totems did not make the same sound as torches on various maps. Make them sound like Whispers to survivors.
As far as hiding them, I am not sure what else they can do other than making them invisible as they are much better hidden than they used to be in most cases and especially on the newest maps.
I personally do not use Ruin as killer so I have no dog in the fight to buff the gamble/hard carry/buff already skilled killer players perk.
-
I would rather be a team player and counter Sloppy Butcher with:
Bond, Botany Knowledge, Leader, and We are going to live forever.
Bloodpoints are my goal and being a hero pays well. Dying is fine as long as I get paid.
I know Plague semi counters this build but she is relatively rare.
-
Killing yourself at that point is the right thing to do.
Your team lost and it at least gives one of you the chance to get the hatch.
When 2 are left...first caught loses.
Survivors who stay alive at that point are just helping the killer.
-
I really wish flashlights were useless but as a Hag main I object to that assertion. 😥
Toolboxes save lives but many times ensure survivors barely black pip because the gens went so quick.
-
You can use it to troll survivors into thinking you have a mori.
-
Stop trying to control what players do if it is allowed by the rules of the game.
I will take a BBQ stack all day instead of a player disconnecting.
Create incentives for staying in the match. Bloodpoints would likely motivate most survivors.
Or you can go the route of disabling their perks for a set number of matches. :)
The rest will do what they want and the devs are the only ones who can come up with some solution.
