Forgive them. Pity them. Sacrifice them. They are just venting to a faceless killer.
Report the worst offenders to help clean up the community, or just close end game chat and treat them like NPCs.
-
@Milkymalk I play survivor too so I have invested quite a bit there as well. My nurse still does not have the newest perks. I also spend points on killers I enjoy to get their add ons even if I have them max perks.
I have not even bought stranger things yet, and still have plenty of things to spend bp on.
I will eventually prestige Claudette, but that is only if I have everything else I want.
-
Survivors should be able to suicide on the hook: AKA trying to kobe, without punishment.
That being said, there should be a blood point incentive for staying in a full match to the end.
-
DS is strongest when the gates are powered. It makes sense to eat the stun early regardless of how annoying it is.
-
@Starbricks19 I have over 1700 hours and never prestiged. I rather keep the perks I earned. The grind is hard enough without that and you will need many millions just to get all perks all killers. So far I have earned almost 190 million bloodpoints and spent them all without prestige.
-
I actually crawled out the hatch on my very first game in Oct 2016.
I did not realize how rare that is until later.
-
"Hey Google, set timer for 60 seconds."
BEEP
"Stop"
-
Maybe DBD2 will be designed for this, but you would have a hard time getting anyone to play killer if every survivor team had coms.
It would probably be pretty annoying for solo survivors as well.
-
Kindred can really help in the solo queue.
-
I am a big fan of BBQ, POP, Corrupt, and All Ears. I play with other perks but I am having fun with this build.
-
@UlvenDagoth Killer life is hard. It has a mental toll. I understand this. I just do not agree that a purple rank is not ready to face reds. They just played a little longer this season.
As far as advice this video is old but still has some good tips:
-
@UlvenDagoth You call me judgemental and a douche and I am the one being aggressive.
-
@UlvenDagoth This thread was created to complain about facing red rank survivors as a purple rank killer. This not an advice on how to kill survivors thread. He knows how to catch and kill them. I could understand if he was brown rank and facing reds like it used to be before the SWF matching changes.
-
@UlvenDagoth OK. What do you have to add to the conversation other than not liking how I said the truth?
-
@UlvenDagoth Not sure what you mean. I am stating facts. How did he get to purple? Killing survivors.
@DelsKibara Facing SWF is frustrating but there are lessons to be learned in every match.
-
You are a purple rank killer.
You are not some newb who does not understand the game.
If you are going to rank up you will have to learn how to deal with these types of survivors or at the very least earn a ton of points when you encounter them.
I respect survivors who are actually ranking up this season rather than deranking and keeping themselves in the brown and yellow ranks.
-
I report the worst as well just to try and help clean up our community.
I try to not take it personally as they are just venting against the faceless "tryhard" "sweaty" killer. You will get crap no matter how fair you think you are being.
I try to have empathy for them, as they are obviously unhappy with their own lives.
Turning off the chat is good, but reporting them might save someone else from their abuse.
-
I keep getting merciless killer with Legion with less effort than any of the other killers. They are not useless and have potential for high scoring games.
All killers can have bad games, but you can 4k and have high scoring games even when you do not. I even got Merciless with one person taking the hatch.
There has to be a balance and I think they got it right. Yes, you have to use add ons, but that is true for all killers if you are not making it hard on yourself on purpose.
-
Taking a break from DBD is a good thing. I took an 8 month break, played a few months, then took another break. I am now playing again until the next game distracts me.
This game is frustrating by design, so I try to only play a few hours at a time to keep things fresh.
I am sure you will be back, but when you do, please try to go into matches without any expectations of victory. It is the way to keep your sanity.
If you "let things slide" this game gets a lot more fun.
-
I must be lucky as I have just been playing killer this season so far, and I have only got 1 survivor daily.
-
@jthm0138 Fair enough, but I do not think many PC players are switching to console as it is the inferior version of the game due to hardware and proprietary restrictions that go hand in hand with the closed ecosystem of consoles.
All I am saying is if crossplay is enabled console survivors will have the surprised pikachu face when facing PCmasterrace killers.
-
@jthm0138 I know once you learn survivor on controler you can pull off some moves but sweet jukes will never get you banned.
Console killers have their hands tied behind their backs, so your experience would likely be different if you were facing a PC killer while playing on a console.
-
@JtheLast "Come back to PS4 where we actually know how to play the game"
This made me chuckle, but seriously, PC players are the elite of DBD full stop.
Crossplay would be a massacre but if it means more blood for the blood god I am all for it.
-
There are players on both sides looking for easy games but the survivor smurfs are more numerous. They get mad when they lose to "sweaty killers" so it makes the brown and yellow killer ranks a gauntlet of players with thousands of hours of playtime you will have to get through.
Your reward for getting through will be SWF after SWF, so be careful what you wish for.
-
She can really count on Thantophobia putting in work during a match.
Survivors are either one shot or give you super spit. She negates healing speed up perks.
Plus her vocals are pretty cool.
-
It helps to be fearless and constantly doing something that generates points.
Dying is part of the deal many times, but you can help your team a great deal by staying until sacrificed.
-
I try to limit my playtime as killer to 2 hours and survivor to 4 depending on the role.
Despair By Design should be taken in small doses to keep it fresh.
Daily challenges are my motivator, so I am excited for the Rift as it may keep me more engaged for longer.
-
Survivors have a right to not struggle. This is DBD law.
Smile a little when they do it, for they are making your job easier.
-
This is why I wait until primetime to even try. Most of the playerbase works.
-
It is part of the culture of DBD, and you only give it BM power by how you choose to look at it.
Forgive them.
Sacrifice them.
-
Survivors complaining about Kindred not being base kit remind me of killers complaining about Ruin not being base as well.
If you think Kindred is such a good perk....run it if you play solo survivor.
-
I really appreciate the attempt, but I fear we are caught in a cycle of despair by design.
This game is meant to pick at our ego and the cycle of revenge is endless.
-
Taking on a lobby with 4 toolboxes.
-
All except for Nurse and Demo since I have not bought it yet.
I only play Huntress for daily challenges for now.
-
I am grateful for the opportunity to earn extra bp on the free track and to have "missions" to complete, as daily challenges are a motivator for me.
I will likely not buy into the Rift unless I have already completed the associated challenges.
This is probably the way to go if you doubt in your ability to complete them in time.
-
My goal when I play survivor is not to escape, but to earn as much bp as possible before being sacrificed. Escaping is a bonus.
If your teammates are going down hard it is an opportunity to save them and to heal them before the inevitable end. Many times you can avoid a depip and maybe even pip in these situations.
I make the most of the random match and do not feel bad if I get to move on to the next match fast.
Low rank teammates give me the opportunity to teach and to be a hero. I'll take that over never seeing the killer and gates being powered with no one ever being hooked.
-
@madds I have completed the killer adepts except for Demo which I have not bought yet.
I can tell you from experience you just have to keep playing and eventually you will get it done. It took me around 30 matches to get Adept Plague, but only 3 with Ghostface. It is not easy, but very satisfying when you pull it off.
For every new killer I force myself to use their perks until the achievement is done. That way it feels like an upgrade when I can finally use BBQ and the other perks I want to use.
You just need to get the right group of survivors and some luck. It is not impossible.
-
Do yourselves a favor and bind this action to your mouse wheel. Big QOL change.
-
Blood Lodge is one of the worst killer maps unless you are Billy, Nurse, or Huntress. Survivors have long sight lines and many defensive structures available.
Sometimes you get countered by perks and maps, but eventually the Entity will smile on you.
-
@FancyMrB "Both sides are equally guilty" - I have a feeling many of these disconnectors are the same people.... just playing different roles.
But let's be serious...survivors dc WAY more often.
It is ruining this game and hopefully the devs have some plan to reduce this trend.
-
I set it to friends only and that solved that.
At least they cannot invite us to groups mid game anymore.
-
@OmegaXII Without any add ons I will not do as that does sound painful. Good part is any BP you earn is pure profit since you have invested nothing. Sort of what Nurse mains have been enjoying for years.
I have been using browns (not range one), since I have so many of them and I am pleasantly surprised they are not too bad.
-
To my surprise Doc without range add ons is a threat at loops and windows. You have to get close but that is where you want to be anyway.
I think I will be running him without range add ons until they rework him.
-
Just remove all the mystery and let killers know how many were SWF in the end game lobby.
I would be fine with just a indicator with a number, do not even need to know which individuals were SWF or not. This would address the survivor concern about being dodged in the future.
-
I think it may be Hag's strongest map.
-
Good blood point generation and the scoring system is kind to them.
I can pip more consistently with Legion than other killers in my experience. The only killer I ever got a Merciless Victory even with one escaping via hatch.
Most of the add ons are underwhelming, but some are fun.
Good mind games are possible outside of Frenzy due to small size.
-
I am not planning to buy in, but I am excited about charms giving away hiding survivors.
-
This is intended. Some maps make it easier for either side, and of course if you have 4 experienced survivors working together, it will be a tough game.
Just accept some matches are not winnable and move on to the next group. I focus on getting as much BP as I can so the time is not wasted. Stay strong and do not DC. Do not give up hard earned BP.
Withstand all the displeased and brutal killer games enough to break through at some point where you get a run of good matches with survivors making mistakes.
Try to have fun. I know it can be hard, but what other choice do we have if we are to play the killer role?
-
I would buy those skins. They would at least match the sounds the survivors make.
-
I regret whenever I do not run pop goes the weasel as it can be clutch when 3 gens are left.
