You assume they were even paying attention to the lack of an obsession.
What makes you think those killers would have played any different? Tunneling people out of the match is a common tactic, and that is why DS is such a important survivor perk to those who get angry about dying fast.
-
I started with Billy and got the basics down with him. Ironically I only play Billy for dalies now.
-
Well, at least people with poor internet connections will not be hosting killer games anymore.
-
"Latency experienced during gameplay will depend upon the player's internet connection and their physical distance to the game server."
I am so lucky I am near one of the servers.
-
New Fred may be fun to play, but too many Freds in a row gives people PTSD.
-
Interesting trick. I would just hook as the survivor might not have it, and I want to bank the points. I could see this backfiring giving an opportunity for a flashlight save/bodyblock during the second pickup.
-
@aztecmite SWF and it's advantages are here to stay. If you are going to continue to play the killer role you have to accept you will encounter them. Especially during prime time play hours when people are not working.
Use all the tools you can to fight them until the end. Sometimes they screw up, especially so if they waste time trying to annoy you or make risky plays.
I understand your frustration but they are not going anywhere, so just do your best.

@LordGlint Colonglock
-
@LordGlint Yes, but it is just a hobby. I like being able to look at my games and figure out what I could have done better. Still learning after 1700 hours haha.
-
@LordGlint Thanks for that info. I do not use Ruin so gens do go fast if the team is good.
-
Red rank killers are there for a reason. They are relentless and want to win at all costs.
Is it fun? No, but neither is getting tea bagged at an exit gate when they try to play a killer they are not familiar with, or is hard countered by loops and pallets.
-
This game has been out for years and many of the people you face with have thousands of matches under their belt.
Only those whose will is not broken easily will still travel the lonely path of the killer.
-
I think I got lucky since the nearest server is only one state away from me. So far my killer games have been relatively smooth with the occasional weird thing happening at pallets.
-
Myers has a simple playstyle and is a unit that can wipe teams fast if they disrespect him.
-
@Spooky13 Try it at the season start. That is also the best time to do adept achievements.
-
I have not done this one as it requires a BP investment in add ons each try, and it is very difficult to pull off.
If it helps any I saw a guy almost do it by using insidious at gens. Survivor turns the corner and dead. There should be some YouTube videos of others doing it so maybe take a look.
I have no intention of trying it until I have a huge stockpile of the required add ons.
-
Your point is valid. I just focused on Ruin as it is the most commonly used.
All Hex perks are a gamble that sometimes pay off. They will never be guaranteed to last any amount of time.
This is why perks like Corrupt Intervention exist. You get a set amount of time that cannot be disabled by survivors. Hopefully they keep making perks like that.
-
Never chase for longer than one pallet break unless it is the last survivor. Ensure you have traps down at all times. If you lose the survivors just focus on patrolling gens and setting traps.
I like setting traps in a line across the middle on big maps and in open areas between defensive structures on the smaller maps. Corners in buildings to force survivor camera to it. Goal is to hit a survivor and have the wounded survivor run into a trap to a down.
Ensure you mash your teleport button to fast teleport hit a wounded survivor when you see they are running to a trap.
Some survivors have mastered turning away from the teleport phantasm so they are not in your direct view when you teleport, but that only works if you do not insta teleport to the trap.
If they bring flashlights I switch to Clown or Mike hue hue
-
I would never allow survivors to disable one of my perks, and I refuse to be a hex guarding killer. Old school killers have been killing survivors before gens pop way before ruin ever existed.
When I have a good match there is usually only 1 or 2 gens left by the time they are all sacrificed.
If they work together, power the gens, and escape, more power to them. Also games go by faster without it, so I can have more matches in my limited playtime.
BTW I advocate for Ruin AND toolboxes to be removed. Then the games would be more consistent time wise.
-
I am not ignoring your post I just have no sympathy for ruin users pain. They cause plenty of suffering too.
Learn to kill them all at normal gen speed and you will be formidable. Whenever I face a killer who does not use ruin I immediately think to myself "this guy is confident" and my spidey senses start tingling.
And if you think I am a survivor main just look me up on Steam.
-
You take the risk so you have to be ready for the fails.
How many times has Ruin carried you?
Think back to those good times and know that at least 20% of your matches, you get extra time.
Otherwise try some other perks. You might surprise yourself. @BunnyTheHutt
-
You raise your chances of survival by destroying it as early as possible. I have saved my team's butt many times knocking out Ruin within the first 2 min.
The exception to this is hex guarding killers trying to 3 gen. I just burn through it then to get my points.
-
Hex perks are a gamble and sometimes it pays off for you giving you way more time in a match than a killer who does not run them.
On the other hand survivors can delete it quickly if they get lucky. Totem hiding spots have never been better but that only works on newbies. Also ruin has been used so much good survivors just burn through it anyway.
Give yourself the freedom of having 4 perks. Win or lose just have fun.

On some killers, yes, I rarely every run Ruin on someone like Freddy, Spirit, or Nurse, but Ruin is needed on someone like Leatherface. He really has no pressure unless you put someone in the basement. And there is still the problem of running something like Devour or Lullaby. The problem still persists even if someone doesn't use ruin.
I never run Ruin and do just fine with Leatherface. I lose some games sure, but I am ok with this.
If they can finish the gens before I kill them all, good on them.
All hex perks are never an option for me as I will not stand for survivors having control of my loadout.
-
My advice is to break the Ruin addiction and play matches with 4 perks all game. Sure the survivors can do gens faster but if your early game is strong you should be able to 4k with 1 or 2 gens left.
Toolboxes obviously exacerbate the issue. Remove ruin and toolboxes from the game.
-
My killer matches have been great but I am only one state away from the East Coast server.
-
Hag seems like it should be banjo music although that can work for Leatherface too.
-
Survivors are torn on this one. The music is great but it will only lead to more Spirits..๐
-
Took me 1700 hours to get all perks all killers and 4 survivors all perks. (No Prestige)
This game is basically a way of life. Now it is a bit easier.
-
I think we all can agree that the best time to try for your adept is at the start of the season.
That way the pip requirements are not as stringent.
-
Well after studying how others counter Fred I think I have changed my mind a bit.
I was trying too hard to wake up constantly and wasting time. Apparently many survivors just stay in the dream world and do gens. Staying asleep gives him more power, but time is still his enemy.
That being said, they do need to have a cap on the slowdown he can cause with add ons and perks combined.
-
All my games were smooth as butter tonight as killer on the East Coast USA.
-
Rank 9 killer is not innocent. He killed plenty on the way there.
He needs to be forged in the fire of defeat in order to appreciate his victories.
I have no doubt he wrecked the next team he came across.
-
I would change the title of your thread to "New Spirit Chase music idea" as it might get more attention.
-
I will bring out the boy tonight for this surprise Clown BP event! ๐
-
I like it! New chase music for all!
-
I suppose it could be useful if you chase someone towards the pool you have, and then pick it up mid chase.
-
I am still learning things after 1700 hours. DBD can be brutal but you can die/lose as killer and still earn a ton of points, which you can use to get better perks.
There are many Twitch streamers playing DBD and I would suggest you watch what they do for tips.
-
I just think at this point too many are distracted trying to get Spirit nerfed but I am pretty sure Fred will quickly become the most hated soon enough.
Just keep playing OP builds guys, you are just hastening his rework.
-
@ad19970 I ask as you seem to be talking from a killer perspective on it.
As I said before his new kill percentages hopefully will get the devs to take notice.
I am a killer main myself and even I can see that they made Fred a bit too strong. I played a lot of survivor this season to get fast games and it has made me empathetic.
I agree with your cap on action speed regression idea but I am not sure that is enough.

I mean the addons don't have that high values, but I can see it getting a bit too good when stacking with Dying Light and Thana. Which is why a cap would be nice. Everything else with Freddy is fine though, in my opinion. His teleport allows for nice map pressure, but it has a cooldown so it's not ridiculoulsy strong. And his snares are good for chases but definitely not overpowered, survivors still have counterplay and can extend chases long enough.
A good team still has a good chance to win against Freddy if they are good enough on gens and in chases. Even when Freddy uses perks or addons to slow down the game because gens don't take long to repair. I do agree that a Freddy with Ruin, Thana, Dying Light, and his purple and green addons that slow down action speed is a bit much though, that's for sure. A cap to action speed debuff is needed. 25 or 30% feels right in my opinion.
@ad19970 Do you play survivor?

What exactly do you find to strong on him? His powers, or just his slowdown potential with his addons plus Thana and Dying Light?
I do agree that it can be too much if you stack all of that, especially if you add Ruin as well. There should be a cap to how much you can slow down action speed of survivors when stacking addons and perks. 25 or 30 % would be fitting.
@ad19970 I have faced many Freds stacking up his strongest add ons with gen regression or healing slowdown. TBF even his greens are strong now.
I played as him and was wrecking people not even really trying too hard with brown add ons and no gen or healing slow down perks. I can only imagine if I was using red or green and pop ruin ect.
-
New Fred's kill numbers are through the roof and I am sure the Devs will notice. His slowdown builds are just obnoxious, and although I admit it is fun playing as him, he is a bit too damn strong now.
-
Reaching that rank means you played a lot this season. Sometimes you need a break.
Especially from this game.
Otherwise stay sane by going in trying to have fun and leaving your expectations for victory in the lobby. What happens happens. Voice coms are strong, but you can still score a ton of bp.
Some maps favor killers, and on some survivors have that advantage. It is built into the game so everyone has a chance to be successful. We are supposed to be having fun right?
-
I am really surprised Fred is not getting more hate. He is by far the most annoying killer to me that drags out games and has dream pallets and snares. The falling asleep thing combined with his add ons just makes me dread the matches I get with him.
-
I never use Ruin and still win plenty of matches. 4 perks every game.
-
I have all the adepts and force myself to play with the 3 perks of a new killer once they are all level 3. Plague took around 30 matches without me trying to "extend" the game. I just played normally and actually got better with Plague as a result.
Keep trying and you will get it... if it is important to you.
-
I am so glad I never prestiged any character in 1700 hours. The grind is hard enough just trying to unlock all perks on each character. If I ever run out of things to spend BP on I would consider it but it seems unlikely.
-
Asylum has always been my favorite map in either role. I dread Farm maps as a killer and it is no surprise survivors love them as they have a very high escape rate compared to others. I actually enjoy Haddonfield as I almost never play nurse or huntress. Haddon can be Hag and Trapper heaven.

Change Monstrous Shrine to Monsterous Hatch. ๐
