I have observed many SWF and most are chill until the killer starts getting the upper hand. Then the callouts begin and the coordination increases. At this point, I just accept it and open the gates for them to limit their time to gloat.
That being said 4 experienced solo players can feel very similar to SWF. I have long advocated for killers to be able to see who was SWF in the end game screen to dispel the mystery.

2200 hrs and I never prestiged. I saw the scam of it back in 2016 when I was tempted by the legacy skins.
All a normal player has to do is pick one or 2 survivors and level the rest to 40. It took me 266 million BP for 5 survivors all perks and most perks on all killers.
-
I have not prestiged anyone in 2200 hours but since Demo is no longer available he will likely be my first choice if I ever decide to do it. I have earned 269 million blood points and still do not have all perks all killers so if they keep adding new characters it will probably never happen.

I have no doubt Jason would be able to walk though breakable walls lol

Good thing about fast healing is it encourages body blocking. Mad Grit potential?

Healthy survivors suck in their breath when you pass by a locker. Listen

All hail our lord and saviour Lightborn 😎
Brother, I put it on Demo and completely wrecked their plans. I may just bite the bullet and put it on all my killers and feel like a god

You have unlocked a new level in DBD mastery. The point is the fun! Once you feel the joy of just experiencing the gameplay from moment to moment without expectations of victory you have won. Simple perks mean you are just focused on the chase and the hook. Win or lose this is where DBD shines.

How does it seem fair to allow survivors maps which help them find totems and killers have no way to find boons. The hex a killer uses gone first cleanse and the boons can continuously be blessed. I am starting to see a lopsided favor in this game.
I think boon blessings should be temporary and fade over time. Take the killer interaction out of it. Give killers the haste effect in the boon area to make it dangerous haha

You can still get adept with a survivor escaping via hatch, especially after a reset.
-
Good idea!

Those are both staple perks for me as well sometimes I just find survivor boring so I end up switching to a different game I've actually been doing that alot lately. I just be jedi fallen order instead of playing dbd
DBD is best taken as a shot of whiskey. In moderation. The name of the company has always made me suspect this game is just a study of human behavior. How altruistic or selfish we choose to be when presented with different circumstances.

I try but you get them teams that are gen jockeys and end the game in 5 minutes and you can't stop it. My biggest problem lately is I've been waiting about 10 minutes to find a game and I end up with these guys like half the time so I sit in q longer than my game last plus I get like 12k and the best survivor got about 17k.
I always use BBQ or Live forever if survivor. I no longer run generator slow-down perks. I still defend gens but I don't really care if they decide to rush gens as I am confident in my ability to hook them all at least once and get some decent blood points in the process. If killer queues are taking long I just switch to survivor and try later.
-
I focus on keeping my sanity while enjoying this game so blood points are my only goal. I go with the flow and hook 'em and book from the hook. I stay on the move and change targets often. It is so much more fun to just focus on blood points and outplaying them during a chase than trying to confirm kills at all costs.

I apologize too I shouldn't of snapped like that or assumed it was a personal attack. I only am able to play during the weekends because of my work schedule but take pride in my skills (which is always improving) in the game.
I agree it's a boring strat but when you deal with Gen Rushers so much you tend to do the boring crap just to get some action.
Again I apologize.
All good brother man. You seem like a nice fellow.
I would say this game takes a mental toll as it was designed to be frustrating. It is best to just go with the flow of matches without expectations of victory.

Just because I 1 dont have the extra funds atm to buy all the killers I need and 2 I only have time during the weekend to play so yes I'm still unlocking stuff, not everyone will have the same playstyle anyway. The Term "Baby Killer" just shows how much your mind need to grow and mature.
Do you know I cant loop, do you know I can't hide the stain.....No you do not. So before you want to try to label someone with a negative connotation think again and try to be constructive instead of adding to the growing toxic behavior that DbD has made.
It was not a personal attack. I am sorry if you felt that way. I use the term to describe less experienced killers who are easy to beat no matter what perks survivors use. Guarding 3 gens is a valid tactic but it is a boring and time-consuming one.

I'll 3 gen them all day long. Not a baby strat when some people dont have access to those slow down perks like me. I dont have the Plague and her perks seem to avoid the Shrine so I work with what I have. Survivors will make mistakes trying to get to those gens that I will jump on.
If you are still unlocking perks and killers you are a "baby killer" so I understand doing what you have to do to advance. It might be a better use of your time to figure out how to run loops and how to hide your red light more to advance your mind games.
Oldie but goodie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crgMmyoDzNQ&t=2s

3 gen strat is baby killer thinking. Nobody wants to spend 30 minutes in a match with you. I have given up on gen slowdown perks and focus on having fun. That is the point of this game right?

The issue is the amount of power Boon totems give Survivors for almost zero risk.
A survivor messing with boons is a survivor that is not on a gen. It only hurts you when you ignore the boons.
-
It will be better for your mental health to just go with the flow of each match without expectations of victory. SWF is here to stay and you have to accept that if you are going to keep playing this game as the killer role.
Take what you can and take advantage of their mistakes. Try to learn to hide your red light more and give up on chases if they go on too long. At this point, I have just given up on gen slowing perks as they just extend matches. That allows me to use a wider variety of perks that survivors do not see every match. I still get plenty of victories and earn plenty of BP.
-
Go into the match with either a very specific plan like finding the 3 closest gens and protecting them, or just go with the flow with no expectation of victory. I find just reacting to what I see and not caring about what they do on gens allows me to bring a wide variety of perks that are not generator-focused. Blood points and having fun is what I am trying to do in the killer role.
-
Perks over clothes. The grind is enormous even without prestige.
-
I guess I will main Hag for a while. I can usually teleport and hit before they can get a dead hard off.
-
I stopped running slow-down perks. I realized that it only makes matches last longer. If survivors can power the gates before I kill them all it is fine with me. Either way, I earn my BP.
I would also add that giving up gen defense frees me up to experiment with other perks that survivors don't see every match.
-
If the goal is to have fewer people playing Spirit I think they have likely succeeded.
-
Demo is one of the best killers they ever made. Great music and fun gameplay.
-
Just go into the match without expectations of victory and know that the game is designed to be frustrating. Just do your best to earn BP and have fun. Never DC as those blood points were hard-earned even if you lose.
-
After 4 years and over 2k hours I have come to accept that some map and team combos are going to result in a loss. Just do your best and fight till the end. Sometimes they make mistakes..
-
Ghostface hands down. I have to admit all ears is a decent perk though.
-
I have 2k hours and I am still learning. Most important thing is to have fun and try not to take it too seriously. There will be matches that are unwinnable due to factors outside of your control whichever role you play.
-
I try to show empathy like letting survivors reset if I hook them a bunch with 5 or 4 gens left. My goal is blood points and I no longer really care if they escape or not. If survivors power the gates I usually open the door immediately to speed things up. That being said if they let me catch them I will hook them until death.
-
How easy it is depends on who you are playing against in either role.
-
Since 2016 I have taken 2 breaks of 6 and then 9 months. Both times I came back enjoying the game again. Breaks are healthy and highly recommended.
-
It is really up to you how you view your role in the game and whether you find it fun. I have found peace just going into matches with no expectations of victory or defeat. I just go with the flow and try to have a good time. I also suggest frequent breaks.
-
The post game chat should be avoided when playing killer. Much easier these days with crossplay, but if not already just close it after your first match. Treat them like NPC's in a single player game and just try to enjoy yourself.
-
Trapper, Demo, and Mike are the ones that I have the most fun playing.
-
Faster games is better for all. We have lives to live besides waiting for a lobby. Crossplay is a godsend.
-
It was worst before end game collapse. I usually open the gates as killer if the survivors had a good game to speed up the end of match.
-
I only play a few matches a day and as of this weekend many had disconnectors. One killer did it, but it was mostly survivors. I had really hoped this era of DBD was over.
-
Close end game chat and treat it like a single player game. If you are talking about those that are toxic in game, then your only option is the reporting system at the end of matches.
The game was designed to be frustrating and you have to come to terms with this in order to be at peace with it. All the tools that players use to frustrate you were provided to them by the developers.
-
I have around 1800 hours in DBD and the majority were spent as killer. I have taken two 6 month breaks since the game released. This improved my mental health. There is no doubt that the game was designed to be frustrating and you have to keep that in mind by taking breaks between matches. I honestly would play more killer if the queues were better. I am just not willing to spend a long time waiting for a match anymore. I would just rather shut down the game and play something enjoyable.
-
I am on my second break from DBD, and it has been pretty good. I highly recommend it. This game takes a mental toll on you and it is deliberate. It was designed to frustrate you. Keep that in mind and you will enjoy it best by just going with the flow win or lose, and focusing on BP score events.
The new upcoming patch looks interesting, so at some point I will dip my toes back into the horror.
-
How I have fun as a killer:
Uninstall DBD
Install Escape from Tarkov
-
Playing escape from tarkov for now. I will likely return by next summer. Hopefully the game will be in a good place by then. kappa
-
End game chat was the worst idea they ever came up with.
How hard would it be to just have a permanent disable that did not have to be re enabled every time you boot the game?
-
Taking a break from DBD is not a bad thing.
I am at the point where I can only play for 1 hour at a time regardless of the role I am playing.
-
Ripley and the Alien would make a nice DLC!
-
The only way to really balance that would be to give killers way more aura reading perks/add ons and abilities.
-
I mostly saw people using it as a tool to dodge lobbies. This extends the time it takes to get a match.
I am neutral on it, but I am leaning towards it being bad for the game.
