  • Are you on the EU servers?

I’ve had a lot of griefers too recently. That’s one of the reasons I quit playing until the ptb. They work with the killer, or just sandbag and fast vault to get you killed.

Glad (or should it be sad) that someone else is having the same problems. You aren’t allowed to leave yet the devs do nothing about it. You’re just expected to sit there and let them have their fun

  • @Cheers said:

Don't get me wrong, I hate campers, it sucks when you're camped, and this advice is going to sound like what a 5 year old would tell you after he won you at something, but get good and rank up.

At high ranks camping doesn't exists unless it's endgame collapse, in which the killer would rather confirm one kill over taking the risk of getting multiple or none.

    LMAO!

That used to be true but not a chance in hell now. If anything camp and hard tunnel is even worse at red ranks.

That doesn’t even make sense. You’re not punished. You’re slugged. Which is a game mechanic. If you want to counter it, bring Unbreakable. Or get better at not getting downed.

you think killers enjoy having to slug to ensure a 4K? It’s the hatch mechanics that cause this. Killers don’t enjoy having to leave someone on the ground either. Because it’s easy for them to be picked back up by someone else.

The game is ruined and yet I’m forced to stay in or eat a 5 minute penalty. Thats being punished. Its stupid.

Ruin was the only way to slow down the beginning of the game. Sure it was risky but still useful, and it certainly didn't go out with 30 seconds every match. Also, it had an effect in any match, on any map. Mapo changes only affect the maps that they are applied too.

God people need to stop being so whiny and immediately accuse the devs of being biased towards one side just because that side is getting good changes in one patch. It's so freaking ridiculous.

The only way? Corrupt is doing just fine for me. Also they changed a hell of a lot of maps.

this happens to you enough that bleeding out takes 4 minutes while the other person is looping the killer? I don’t think so.

They are going to add bots for when people DC anyways. Not a great idea IMO but it’ll be something.

Not always the full 4 minutes but at least a few minutes while the killer searches high and low for the other player.

Fact is I did nothing wrong. I’ve had the game ruined for me as a player and customer too. So why am I then expected to sit there staring at the ground? Why am I punished for what other people did?

It’s ridiculous and shows that it really is all about killer fun. Better developers don’t do this.

  • Wow no wonder new Ruin doesn’t work for you lol hard to get survivors off gens if you never chase them.

The camping penalty isnt bugged. You’re obviously hanging around the hook far more than you think you are. Milo is right it already doesnt apply the penalty if another survivor is there so you’re definitely doing something wrong.

People are saying that because they survive 80% of their games at red ranks they are good survivors, survivor is easy, or they understand balance. It doesn't take skill to hide and hold M1 while the killer tunnels the flashlight clicking Nea all game. Also, killer mains are usually the ones who only play survivor when they're in a SWF as opposed to playing solo, so they have an even more warped sense of balance. Just because the game is easy when your playing with 3 of your friends doesn't mean survivor is easy. I consider myself a very good survivor and I would say I survive less than half my games at red ranks on average, maybe about 30%. If you watch some of the top survivor streamers, you'll see they don't survive anywhere close to the 80% people on this forum are claiming.

All of these “top” streamers win far more as killer than they escape as survivor, and win far more games as killer than they lose as killer.

You’re right people definitely have a warped sense of balance.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

The problem with them fixing maps is that it balances those killers that are weak but inevitably buffs those that are strong.

I don’t wanna have to deal with triple pallets as Pig more than I want to deal with (Infectious Fright) Oni with one pallet on the map.

Bingo. Hillbilly is deadlier than ever on the reworks with all the deadzones. Great for low tier easily looped killers though.

You can’t be serious.. DS, BT, Unbreakable, Adrenaline, Syptic Bottle, etc. They have a ton for survivability. You can also go around many of these loops more than once before throwing a pallet.

the issue is that things have been way too easy for survivors for over a year. The second they might require 1% more skill they lose their minds.

In terms of game balance, if you’re escaping 50% of the time and dying the other 50% then everyone is fine. It sounds like survivors want to escape every time or else it’s not “balanced.”

My GF started playing 2-3 months ago. She’s red ranked survivor. She doesn’t even know how to loop killers and just holds W. She escapes more than half her games.

You have no idea what you’re talking about.

    Sounds believable.

    do.... bones?

Run around the entire map trying to find a needle in a haystack before touching a gen while Hillbilly is already steamrolling with instadowns? so basically it's no different to old ruin despite how much people cry it's weaker?

Like I said on someone like Myers it's not so bad, the issue comes from top tier killers like spirit or hillbilly who with their mobility and chase potential will likely be starting to snowball very early.

I just don't get how you can even feel good about winning a game on an empty map as Hillbilly (coming from a Hillbilly main). Hopefully they reconsider all these insane dead zone changes.

Because they win. That's all that matters to some people. I can't tell you how many times 2 people have disconnected or suicided on hook and the killer has sweat for the 4k and then gloated about it post game, spamming "ez ez".

  • It definitely needs looking into but it only exists so killers can have their power trips fulfilled so I can't see it being changed. For example in Resident Evil if someone disconnects you can then leave the game because these developers are actually good and understand that you shouldn't make everyone else stay in a ruined game due to one baby. The first person to quit still gets a penalty.

However in DBD when 2 quit these devs expect you to sit there slugged on the ground for 4 minutes while the killer sweats for his "hard earned" 4k. Yes they literally expect you to sit there bored as punishment even though you did nothing wrong. Such a decision could only be made by people who don't actually play their own game, well not as survivor anyway.

I'm sorry but...if you take your last sentence and flip it to the other side, this is exactly what people said months ago when the VERY controversial Ruin change happened.

Maybe try looking at it from both sides before judging core game decisions? And don't say you are, because you're not. Both the Ruin change and map changes are now justifiable since they now both exist.

Had this change come without the Ruin rework, I can see how the devs might seem Killer biased, but look back three months ago and it was the complete opposite.

The devs can't please Killer or Survivor mains who cling to their one role, it's sad but what else can they do. The devs don't have a biased towards one side or the other, it's just that if they tread on one sides toes without also treading on the other, the side being treaded on yells BIAS!!!

The map changes have a huge effect on the game. A perk that was more often that not taken out within the first 30 seconds not so much.

  • @AsePlayer said:

Like I said, this is just going to make high-mobility killers even more ridiculous. Maybe they'll actually get toned down now, who knows?

Not a chance. Lets be honest Hillbilly is the worst since not only is the by far the fastest but also has no cooldown unlike the rest. In fact hes the only one with instadowns too.

Killer mains here have been given veto power so no, not gonna happen.

  • Just had a few games on torment creek. Wow yeah it is full of deadzones.

You’d hope now they could balance Hillbilly since he can immediately catch up to any distance survivors create and has unlimited instadowns but I doubt it.

  • Everyone has been asking this for ages. He bores people to death.

Some people love his edgelord vibe though so hes quite popular and unlikey to be reworked. Also the fact that he appeals to casual players with his look and the fact that he takes no skill to use and I cant see him being changed for quite some time, if ever.

  • Camp and tunnel is the big one that needs to be addressed. It needs to be made less viable, so that chasing other survivors is the better and always more effective way to play.

Hillbilly was always busted imo but now even more so with all the deadzones and the fact that you needed the best survivors on the team to loop him for multiple gens to even stand a chance at winning.

Not that it matters though. Its obvious whose ideas and concerns are more important to the developers. Hint: It’s not survivors.

  • That comparison doesnt really work. I would have said killer gets the 4k, because the perfect killer would be a perfect Nurse.

But if shes perfect and makes no mistakes then she misses no blinks, but if the survivors are perfect and make no mistakes then they juke all her attacks.

I get what you’re going for though and assuming the perfect killer would use Nurse and land all attacks I’d say the game would be an easy 4k.

Outside of Nurse its really hard to say. Depends on the map and killer used.

  • Well if you remember the EGC was originally designed with 15 second exit gate timers in mind. Then the killer mains used their veto power here to nix the idea and the devs put it back to 20 seconds to appease them. Those extra 5 seconds I find are often the difference between making it out or not.

So yeah its completely killer sided but if you havent noticed thats the direction the game is moving in.

  • @SquirrelKnight said:

Correct me if im wrong but, it seems like that what people want isnt co much "punishment" fir camping tunneling and stuff, but outright losses for the killers that do it.

god loops took no skill to use and were too strong in game. Hence they finally got nerfed.

Camping/tunneling is the same. It takes no skill and often works quite well against non-swf or any team that isnt full of top class survivors. Such a lame and low effort playstyle should not be having the results that it does. By making it less effective you encourage killers to put in more effort.

  • @CosmicParagon said:

Nothing you said here disproved my point. Campers only get rewarded because Survivors let them get rewarded. Leave them alone and they get no points. You can also run Detective's Hunch or Small Game to find totems if you're that worried about NOED

So lets just have 9 out of 10 games now where 3 people hold M1 all game and one person plays hook sim? Sounds fun.

If you want the game to be like that then survivors shouldn’t lose 10 points in altruism for not unhooking. Also gens should be worth my points to make up for the fact that you’re asking players to completely disregard the altruism category.

Gonna have to remove hook suicides as well so bored players have to wait the full 2 minutes.

If killer mains truly cared they wouldn’t object these changes. But they do. Because they WANT the survivors to feel compelled to come unhook. They want them to fee the pressure to unhook because the hooked survivor gives them, because it lets them win with no effort.

  • Killer easily. People forget what killers are capable of. Run a top tier killer with their best add ons, strongest perks and an ebony and its not even close.

When most people speak of survivors being OP they probably had an average build against optimal survivors. E.g. took a mid tier killer, good but not the best perks and yellow or green add ons.

  • I’ll be honest, when I did a challenge in the last tome....something like break pallets with spirit fury. I went around the entire map (groaning storehouse) and got all pallets. I used all of them and there was about 8 or so in total. No more than 10.

However they were at all the usual spots. Didn’t really feel like there was too many deadzones. Not sure how many this map is meant to have but its either bad rng or the new tile changes messed something up.

The rank 25 killer brigade here on this form makes me doubt sometimes, so i have to ask this (hopefully) really stupid question.

My post was sarcasm but I’m sure you’ll read these comments for real very soon.

  • These entitled survivor mains. You are NOT entitled to survive. Killers however ARE entitled to kill.

Just adapt and git gud. Bring Yuis perk so you can pick pallets back up. I don’t see a problem here.

Now watch out for my instasaw hillbilly with spirit fury ending and noed. Better rush those gens and totems boy.

  • The killer mains have spoken. Veto.

Now have so more nerfs survivor main and stop trying to ruin killers fun.

When the silo got the "variation" for the strong window, you should just ignore people running there. I don't see the problem. Adapt.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1201538#Comment_1201538

This variation shouldn't spawn really, all it does is make the window a death trap with easily blood lusted pallets around it.

Completely agree this shouldnt spawn. You cant fast vault from one side making it useless. On the other side unless you’re approaching from one specific direction AND have Lithe for the speed boost then its still utterly pointless.

  • @CosmicParagon said:

Do the gens. Assuming the survivor getting tunneled is even halfway decent, the rest of you can rush the gens faster than you can say Prayer Beads Spirit. Even if the survivor goes down they have like 2 minutes on the hook assuming they dont suicide. You can do 2-3 gens in that time, depending on how many people stack on the gens. The Killer will black pip at best, and wont make more than 16k bp

    But heres the problem...

    1) Survivors are penalised for leaving someone on the hook. They lose points in altruism. Also less interactions with the killer. This means unlikely to pip if you just rush gens.

    2) People generally want to help. Nobody wants to leave someone on the hook as its not very fun.

    3) Ties in with point 1 but unhooking/evading are part of the game. Having the killer stood next to a hook and the rest holding M1 on gens is exposes a real flaw in the game design. Its not fun for anyone and can be boring game after game.

    4) If the person on the hook realizes they’re being camped sometimes they’ll just suicide.

    5) You can rush gens but you can’t rush gens and all 5 totems. Campers ALWAYS have NOED.

In short what you’re saying never works. You can rush gens but others wont. Because they’re probably playing solo. The solo on the hook doesnt want to be camped, they want a new game and a way out so they suicide. The other survivors want their pip.

Know who can defeat this? 4 man swf. They’re playing for the team, not themselves. So they agree to forgo points/pips to beat the camper. The one on the hook will wait the full 2 mins to make sure his buddies escape. If it comes to totems they can co-ordinate quickly.

Face it camp and NOED guarentees at least 2 kills normally. Likely 4 if the survivors feed the killer which they usually do. Its a way to stomp people that arent a 3-4 man team. Which is how killers want it. Easy way to win most games with zero effort.

  • @finitethrills said:

Kill stats will never be accurate. All of us know how many, many 3 escape games turn into 4ks handed to the killer on a platter even with the gens done, because so many cannot simply walk out the door while one guy is left on a hook.

You do see an occasional afk killer pushing stuff the other direction, but there's far fewer of them than there are Survivors who would rather feed killers kills than leave 1 guy behind in egc.

Add in failed bully squads who all swoop in to flash the killer 3x before they realize they drew an actually skilled killer and they go 3 down right there in the space of 20 seconds.

NOED probably fudges the numbers more than any other perk. Killer mains veto any notion of changing it though so oh well.

  • @Nameless said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1201272#Comment_1201272

Or maybe it just requires more time to rework add ons for each and every killer than it does for survivors because they're practically reskins. Just a thought though, considering I believe they already said they would look into Billy's add ons and Iri Head for example.

I’ve never seen them comment on iri heads outside of peanits who isnt on the balance team.

”Looking at” Billys add ons isnt confirmation of what exactly they’re going to do.

Also they managed to go back and rework killer after killer and touch up most of the maps in the game but they couldnt find time to remove some cheap ass add ons that unbalance the game in big ways right now?

Maybe because like I said, killer fun is the priority. Just a thought.

  • No. Survivors had to lose all their BS add ons, instaheals were too much and toolboxes have been nerfed beyond useless. Theres nothing “cool” to take as survivor anymore other than a key.

However of course killers get to keep their best add ons. The rules that apply to survivor dont apply to killer, they can bring BS add ons all they want.

Know why? Because devs prioritise killer fun.

  • @Lexilogo said:

I'm 100% fine with Dead Hard. It requires skill on the Survivor's part to use, the payoff is roughly identical to other Exhaustion perks anyway, it's mindgameable by Killers, and having to be injured to use it is a good downside that many Killers can play around.

Yeah I didn’t mind it at rank 17 either.

Running towards a pallet, realizing you’re likely to be hit just before you make it there, pressing E to gain a little bit more distance.....yeah man I see what you mean. Total high level play there. Definitely requires so much skill to use.

Also highly mindgameable. I mean I could have umm....erm....oh. The only mindgame is picking Huntress or Clown a s they’re the only ones that can block it but people are crying for their exhaustion add ons to go too so...

  • This baffles me too. I never had an issue with Doctor before. I never found him frustrating and in fact I found him fun.

Now though? He’s a right pain in the backside. Just feels like you’re snapping out of it all the time, always has his fake terror radius on you. Often tends to absolutely stomp games unless you’re with pro survivors. Doctor is 10 times the noob stomper he was before.

  • I’m convinced most people are rank 15 here if they don’t have a problem with DH. All the best players all take it, probably has a 90% use rate among the top tier players.

There’s no baiting it out because its very rarely used to dodge a hit, its always used for distance. I had a game on the ptb yesterday on The Game and I’ve never seen a team of tryhards so carried by Dead Hard. Almost every single chase as I was about to get close enough to swing they use Dead Hard for distance to make it to the pallet. Theres no waiting it out, there’s no counterplay. As people have already said in here 1 button press just pads out a chase for far longer than it should. It really is a crutch perk.

This is the irony in all this. The devs just tore up all the maps and tile spacing because good survivors were chaining together pallets and loops across tiles. Know which perk was often letting them do that? That’s right Dead Hard. DH was the difference between them going down before the next pallet/window or them being given just enough distance to make it.

But you went through all that work to tear up the maps and create who knows what kind of balance issues because you were too stubborn to address one perk so good job I guess.

I'd add Piggy to this list too, those seem to soft camp (that's what I call it) too.

This time last year I would have agreed. Pig used to be really bad for it. Camp hooks and spend all game tunneling the survivor with a RBT on.

Past few months though I’ve been lucky and only met decent Pigs. Seems like a lot of people stopped using her leaving only the good players using her now.

  • Leatherface has a rep for camping but outside of people that meme with insidious he isn’t so bad.

The real culprits are Ghostface, Deathslinger, Wraith, Hag. Spirits as well....they technically leave the hook but always Phase walk back over and over again hoping to catch the unhook so they can tunnel.

  • Why not? NOED gives free kills endgame. Why is it not ok for survivor perks to turn the tide at the last second but it is ok for killer perks?

For what its worth since the DS changes I think I’ve only been screwed by late game DS once in the past year.

  • 1) He isn’t as weak as people make out. In fact he’s ok considering he’s the easiest of all killers.

    2) He’s awful and ruins the game for a lot of people. He’s popular enough as it is due to his edgelord look. Best not to make him meta.

  • Typical killer main logic. They tunnel because they dont care. They just want the easy win and will come up with some bs excuse to justify it. You see it on these forums all the time.

Also just like how you see people say “just bring DS” to stop tunneling and then a few minutes later they’re begging and pleading with the devs to remove DS so they can tunnel without restrictions.

  • @GrannyonAcid said:

I'm curious as well. I see a lot of posts on here saying that killers have it easy. I've been playing survivor the last few days and I'd say that 3-4 people escape in 9 out of 10 games. I don't see this killer being strong thing.

    What region?

I’m EU and myself and others see killers win 9 out of 10 games. When I switch to killer I also win most games too. Only 3-4 man swf are troublesome.

  • @Gamekeeper said:

    Yeah yeah yeah

Punish killers for killing sounds good to me

Yet its fine to punish survivors for “looping”

  • Map changes are good but the game is still full of the usual BS. Half the problem is the community.

  • @Danky said:

i could also drop u from using DS as the killer. rework the perk so if the killer hooks another person then its gone. as thats not tunneling.

A lot of killers camp. A Hillbilly for example can instadown one while they’re unhooking, then slug the other. Hook them in the right order and no DS even though this lame ass just camped the hook.

  • To be fair the free escapes balance out the free kills from NOED

  • But it always used to be grey with 2 survivors on a gen 😕

  • Off topic a bit but why is the prove thyself bar red now with 2 survivors on a gen?

  • So after playing a bit more I give a big win to Resident Evil. At first I thought the killers were a little underpowered and they are initially but once you unlock decks it turns the tides.

More importantly, I don’t hate my time on resident evil.

This ptb made me remember just how much I hate playing this game. It just leaves you with a sour taste.

Some games as survivor since queues are instant...

    1) ebony mori in 90% of games (probably inflated since ptb but still). Requires no skill from the killer

    2) Wraiths that just facecamp and never leave the hook

    3) Survivors that get fed up and give up on hook when said killers facecamp, just giving ######### players a free win

    4) Huntress that could blatantly see survivor auras. There was no doubt, this person was tracking survivors perfectly who were not in line of sight. I was slugged so I saw her tracking the auras in real time. Add this to all the speed and wall hackers we’ve seen recently.

    5) Toxic players. Survivor disconnects within first minute, killer still slugs for the 4k as if he has earned it. Making everyone else wait while this loser enjoys his power trip. After mori’ing the other survivors, lets the last one bleed out on the ground for about a minute just stood there shaking his head before mori’ing him.

    6) toxic survivors that are just there to troll and purposefully farm in front of the killer.

The fact that I’ve seen the usual bullshit in less than 10 games on the ptb really says just how bad it has gotten. Resident Evil has none of this garbage.

  • Most tend to use his stealth to camp hooks and pick off anyone that comes for the rescue.

  • Blendettes blending ability. It gives her an advantage over other survivors making then easier targets.

Partially this, but also because there's not really a single good name for them. Some people call them infinites for example, but they're not infinite, so we can't call them that. Internally, we call them different things which is fine because everyone knows what we're talking about, but we'll typically call them strong windows externally. I went ahead and updated them for clarity.

If you called them “Bull💩 windows” I think that would make it much clearer for players which windows you are referring to.

1 … 32 33 34 35 36 … 63
