Why nerf iri heads? Honestly, pink addons should be powerful, and if survs can juke, than the addon is worthless.

If I were to change iri heads in anyway, I would make it so you could only reload from certain lockers

Why nerf instaheals? Pink addons should be powerful, and if the killer has instadowns then the add on is worthless.

    You see how that works?

  • I dont think anybody is saying killing god loops is an issue.

What people are saying is that killers have got a lot of what they wanted the past year. Toolboxes nerfed, god loops fixed, maps shrunk, instaheals nerfed.

Thats all great. It makes killer more enjoyable.

However now maybe something has to be done for survivor. Camp/tunnel:noed strategy needs to go. Its used in the vast majority of games and ruins the experience for many people. Likewise some killer add ons could be nerfed just like instaheals were (looking at you iri head + infantry belt)

Let's be honest here. Camping and tunnelling has ######### all to do with map size any in game issues. It is ######### players taking the easy ######### option to try and win because they're desperate to win irrelevant of how miserable the game is.

You only have to look ag the numerous threads of "why I camp/tunnel/mori" where they give pathetic excuses. It just makes me cringe, they do it because they're #########. The End. No amount if changes that massively favour killers will ever change that. So let's not pretend it will.

Exactly. I see killers steamrolling a team, no gens done, old ruin was still up and still they tried to hang around the hook and fast tunnel people out of the game. They’ll do it no matter what. Its especially bad against certain regions which I wont name but some are definitely worse than others.

god loops going is great. They took no skill to use and were a cheap way to do well. Now devs need to show they care about survivors too and stop camp/tunnel/NOED combo from being an easy win against non-swf. You see it many games and it always guarentees 2 kills minimum, often more. Only as swf can you communicate to beat it. It takes no skill and needs to change.

Learn totem spots. If killers are supposed to juggle 4 survivors on broken maps the size of Mars with god loops jungle gyms shack dh DS borrowed unbreakable and 80s gens I think the least survivors can do is learn some f..king totem spawns you boosted mongoose

I’ve learned quite a few. Hard with maps like hawkins since they dont appear too often.

All these red rank streamers people like to name....I’ve seen every single of them struggle to find totems. Every single one. Sometimes its not always easy to find the last, especially on newer maps where they are better hidden.

Also funny how you think survivors needing to spend a few minutes off gens searching for this to stop the killer from getting god mode is fair and balanced but asking some chump not to try hooking a survivor for 60 seconds after unhook is somehow too much to ask and an unfair request.

You boosted mongoose. I’m guessing baby wants his second chance perk left alone in case those evil survivors “rush teh gens”. That classic killer entitlement. “If I lose, I still deserve to get a few kills just for showing up”

You don't need detective's huntch to find totems. It makes it easier but is not needed. Bamboozle is needed.

Have you seen some of the indoor maps? Sometimes it can take forever to find the last totem...not that you would know its the last since theres no totem counter because killers veto the idea of it every time.

Still Bamboozle can provide a benefit on a lot of maps. Even if the map doesnt have a god loop it will at least give you faster vault speed and shorten any window. What does wasting minutes for 5 totems do if the killer doesnt have NOED? Not a damn thing.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1197387#Comment_1197387

What perk are you required to run to fix an issue. Running bamboozle is a risk because not every map has a god window. Also survivor is stupidly easy and whether you choose not to do totems and give him noed, playing killer is 10x harder than survivor. Any good player will tell you that look at Scott jund tru3 otz zubat and monto. Are they all "entitled killer mains" because they share the same mindset as me.

    LOL

Bamboozle is a risk because not every map has a god window?

Why, that’s almost like saying running detectives hunch/small game and running around the map for a few minutes searching for totems over gens/unhooks is a risk because not every killer runs NOED.

    The hypocrisy is staggering.

Killer is ez mode right now unless you’re against 3-4 man swf, but most lobby dodge those anyway.

  • Great argument.

And yet it's still a "hold M1" game for survivor mains. It's uninteresting. You go through gens way too fast. You rush. You make the game boring for the killer. You don't have empathy for your opposition, it's not sportsmanlike. Saying "gg" to compensate to make yourself feel better isn't a good plan. Have respect for people, play the game reasonably. If you had done that, maybe these changes wouldn't be so necessary. Survivor gameplay is way too easy. I hover between red and purple ranks (because sometimes good killers have their day) and it's fine to take the L. But when everyone just rushes each gen and the killer never even finds anyone? That's not fun. You don't get chases, you don't get unhooks, can't really drop pallets for any reason, it's boring. Do you enjoy boring games that much? Survivors are pretty OP, they have so many perks that can just punish the killer's mistakes EASILY and EFFECTIVELY. They're even throwing in buffs for two survivor perks into this update to compensate but that's not enough for mains. Lol...

    Lmao at this tripe.

You know why survivors rush gens? Because killers camp. Survivors need to get a head start on those gens because they know that once the first survivor is hooked they’re going to be tunnelled out of the game pretty fast. That means they only have a few mins to get the gens done before they’re 1 survivor down. On top of that they need the gens done quick because they also need to search for 5 totems because all these lame people also run NOED.

You don’t have empathy for your opposition. You hang around the hook, you tunnel way too hard, you make the game boring for the survivor.

  • They’re toxic because the people playing these killers are toxic. Stop trying to justify someone acting like an ass and making killers out to be poor innocent victims as always.

If you have a bad game and then take it out on completely unrelated people guess what? You’re as toxic as the survivors you complain about.

  • Because this place has become an echo chamber. Therefore people have this incorrect sense that their opinion is justified and any opinion going against the grain is to be ridiculed.

  • No thanks. I like my ez 4ks with no effort required.

  • @Lavos99z said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1198132#Comment_1198132

Wanna know why killers tunnel right now so often? Answer: they've had to put up with a lot of toxicity. I stated it in my OP. God loops/pallets, powerful tiles, fast gen speeds even with the toolbox nerfs, etc...All of that comes to an easy "hold M1" game unless the killer finds you. And when he/she does, they'll want to get you. The problem you mains do is that...you instantly unhook. It's called "hook humping" and it's really frowned upon. So that's why you get tunneled as of now. Not because killers are doing it massively to be malicious. Will I go after someone who just got unhooked 5 seconds after I hooked them? Yes, if I don't see the other person first. Why? Because that was too quick. You have to WAIT. Get other things done first. I play survivor quite a bit and I know enough of what I'm talking about. These changes benefit us all. Survivors don't have to rely on cheap tactics, and killers get a break. Maybe tunneling will be less of a problem.

No they tunnel because they’re as lame and toxic as the survivors they complain about. Killers have been worse than survivors this last year for toxicity. Waiting until bleed out, trolling with hatch, hitting on hook etc etc

  • “You won't have an easy game that takes no skill anymore”

But killers still have that and nobody seems to have an issue with killers having the easy game.

    You’re such hypocrites.

If a potato killer is "dominating" survivors at 3 gens then are they really that much of a potato? And if you really think they are, what does that say about you and the rest of the survivors on your team? It's a survivor issue not a killer one.

It doesnt say a damn thing about me since I have zero control over the other players.

It also stinks of imbalance when a number of potatoes play a game and one side has it extremely easy while the others need to sweat their ass off to compensate.

Lol entitled? I believe I am entitled to a game where a survivor can't abuse a window and waste all my time. As for noed I personally don't use it but ifor you have such a problem with it do totems. It's literally a perk which can be destroyed before it activates. You are defending a guy who claims trapper is too fast all killers are op and the ds skill check is too hard😂. Please play one killer match before having an opinion here.

Yeah as expected. Survivors need to git gud but hey NOED the biggest crutch perk of them all granting free kills is fine. Killers never need to git good.

Sure you can do totems....as killer you could have also brought Bamboozle and suddenly most god loops dont exist.

Oh no cant have that though. Killers should never have to use perk slots to fix issues, only survivors are required to do that.

  • And this is your average entitled killer main mentality. Bet you defend NOED too.

Man I really hope these changes scare away the last of the solo survivors onto better games.

  • @Zephinism said:

Rank 4 at the moment and I think it's pretty bad. I rarely ever play Killer (hover from 10-15) but this might entice me to since in most of my games people can't loop the killers or find totems. This'll cut back me survability and lower my chances of escaping further. As it stands, I escape maybe 3/10 of my games.

    Thats how I feel.

I think the map changes are good because the current maps are not fun for killer but something needs to be done for survivor.

I escape maybe 1 out of 10 games. Normally a pattern where the killer just camps the hook and picks off other survivors that go for the rescue, or they fast tunnel someone out and nobody brings DS to even buy a little bit of time.

Just like the god loops that strategy takes no skill. Sucks losing to people who cant chase or mindgame at all but just sit around hooks, bully potatoes out of the game and of course always NOED.

    @Marcus

You're right. However, the Ruin "nerf" was also the reason they nerfed toolboxes, rendering them near useless.

So the point still stands. What are they going to do when the maps are smaller and full of unsafe pallets? I think that's where we don't want to get to, because maps like Hawkings (small and full of unsafe pallets) is unhealthy for the game and only takes a braindead killer to bloodlust without mind-gaming to win.

But read the forums, thats what they want. These people feel entitled to 20 second chases no matter how they play.

  • @tactic said:

I imagine when they said that the developers were implying that it was their mindset for the changes.

People within BHVR can have different opinions/mindsets, especialy if they're a forum moderator rather than a developer.

But let's not kid ourselves; the ruin changes did leave killers in a pretty bad spot for a while, so I think many would consider it a nerf.

Ruin is far stronger now on the top tier killers. Bordering on OP in fact.

  • Yeah it used to be that killer was the more stressful role. However the past year killer is so relaxing compared to solo survivor. Hell its even less frustrating than 2 man swf.

The map fixes were needed and will help the game but something really needs to be done now about killers that just hang around the hook, camp and tunnel people to death and then have NOED to mop up the rest.

People say the god loops took no skill and they’re right but these hypocrities have no issue with killers that just camp, tunnel and NOED for ez kills. That takes no skill either.

Shame the dev team only listens to one side at this point.

  • The problem is this forum has become an echo chamber. Killers are underpowered and can’t do anything to stop survivors from doing gens, survivors so OP. Anyone that disagrees is labelled a survivor main and the echo chamber carries on.

  • Bloodlust isn’t that bad. Bloodlust 3 is op though. When a killer wants to tunnel they just resort to that.

Now nerf Borrowed Time. It ruins the game for all those hardworking campers

    Ok so you're generalising here.

You are assuming that someone other than the unhooked person is always available to chase and down.

You are assuming that a survivor who still has DS isn't locker baiting me.

You assume that the survivor who unhooked isn't hiding somewhere, while the guy that got unhooked with DS runs out into the open.

You assume I'm going to ignore the only survivor around just because he has DS and the fact that I MIGHT be able to find someone else.

You assume that the survivor didn't already have 1 second left on their DS bar just as I downed and hooked someone else and reached them, therefore getting the timer activated on time, therefore stunning me.

Tunneling is not the only situation where DS works, that's why calling it an "anti-tunnel" perk should be used very loosely, because that's not entirely true, it's a temporary immunity perk.

I dont tunnel and DS isn’t an issue for me. Its very rare I ever get stunned by it.

If DS is a big issue for you then you need to look at the way you’re playing.

Jumping in a locker and having a full minute of complete immunity isn't a problem? cool. I'm not parroting the other responses made by countless other members of these forums because if you're active enough on here, you already know them, if not...the bias is real.

There are 3 other survivors you can go for. The others are likely doing generators too.

I see so many killers chase survivors and eat the stun by pulling them out of a locker because they’re that adamant on tunneling someone out of the game. Then they come here and cry about genrushing. Well no #########, you chased the survivor who wasnt even touching a damn gen.

Thank you for seeing the truth. At least someone has the guts to say the reality of the matter. Honestly I think the devs could put all gens lined up, 200 hooks on the map, eliminate loops and pallets and the killers would still complain about something

Its always the same with these people. Survivors always need to “git gud”, and I agree that a lot of these loops were too powerful and required no skill.

However at no point do these killers ever need to git gud. Its always a problem with the game if they lose. Thats why they’ll veto any decision that tries to nerf camping or tunneling or NOED. They just want to sit around a hook as Wraith or Ghostface, camp, tunnel one to death, camp/tunnel another and then pick off the last 2 survivors with NOED.

The fact that the devs actually give them veto power is ridiculous. I’ve never seen a game flushed down the toilet like this.

"As it was mentioned in the thread by different people, NOED isn't rewarding poor gameplay from Killers:

Killer has to play the trial with only 3 perks before the doors are activated.

The perk can be fully deactivated by survivors

If the killer has no luck in hooking many survivors before the doors are activated, then the survivors should have been able to cleanse totems without feeling pressure, thus, not giving the NOED edge to the killer. It's on them if it activates.

If survivors allow the killer to get a 4K with NOED in the end game, I would argue that survivors made mistakes during their end game plays or didn't prepare for the potential NOED activation.

Finally, if you don't want to play NOED, it's your prerogative. In my opinion, building a build that is strong in end game isn't rewarding failure, it is using perks for their intended purposes. The purpose of NOED is to give a killer a burst of strength in end game. Since it's effectively strong, survivors have the power to deactivate it, if they focus secondary objectives.

The killer players choosing to play NOED are banking on a burst of strength at the end for the downside of playing with 3 perks the rest of the game and having a chance to have their perk deactivated. It's a high risk, high reward scenario.

    Do bones."

    Well in that regard...

A survivor has to use only 3 perks until DS is activated.

If the killer is downing people back to back then he has enough momentum that a 5 second stun wont hurt him.

    DS is fine.

This whole "I'M GOING TO CRY ABOUT SOMETHING I DON'T LIKE" until it gets removed trend is getting real tiring

    NOED? no, just.do.the.god.damn.totems.and.stop.whining.

Lol DS is a problem but NOED isn’t.

Running around the map searching for 5 hidden totems which will take at least an extra gen of repair time to complete vs ......not picking someone up within 60 seconds of them being unhooked.

"Maps are too big" "Gen rush is real"

Whats scary is after the past year realising just how much influence a few salty players on the forums have over the developers.

  • Killers - “Glad survivors need to have skill to win now”

Also killers - “camp and NOED is a legit strategy 😎”

    The hypocrisy is staggering.

  • @Peanits said:

For what it's worth, that only works as well as the other survivors let it work. If you end up tunneling that guy through a BT or two, the other three healthy survivors are going to have nothing to do but generators. As long as they don't hang around trying to be a hero, those generators will be done by the time you do tunnel that one guy to death.

But they do try to be heroes. Thats the problem with the game right now. You dont need to be good as a killer to win, you just need to camp/tunnel hard.

If you’re playing solo you will lose because you cant control the other survivors and they will always try to help. Only swf can agree to rush gens.

Also not really great game design is it. If the killer is tunneling one survivor (which ruins the game for that player) everyone else just needs to hold M1 with no killer interaction, hence not a fun game.

Also doesnt help that your stupid scoring system penalizes people for not unhooking people. I say this because camping/tunneling go hand in hand. If the killers tunneling hes been hanging around the hook. You actively punish people with a penalty for not unhooking, and tight now you need unhooks to get points/pips so solo survivors will do it. Only swf will agree to forgo points to work as a team and genrush. Then again they have to do 5 totems too because you can bet a killer that plays like that will have NOED.

I dont get why the entire development team seems oblivious to this.

Even just rushing gens, the person being tunneled to death barely enjoys the game. Many just give up on hook. Im sure they love being chased not stop without the chance to do anything else. Why? Because they were first caught. Im sure the other survivors enjoy holding m1 and watching a progress bar increase all game, hoping they can get it done before one person is tunneled out.

Again - all about killer fun.

  • @Yamaoka said:

Killers aren't op. Most survivors are just bad. In the current state of the game it goes like this:

strong SWF > strong killer > average SWF > average killer > most solo survivors > weak killer > weak survivors (including weak SWF teams as they will throw the game for altruism allowing even bad killers to snowball easily)

I agree that a lot of survivors aren’t great. That seems to be the average player for the game, a bit of a potato.

The problem I have is that the average killer is just as potato. They’ll commit to chasing good survivors for ages, run all the broken loops, miss a lot of swings, have no map awareness.

Yet as a potato killer you can still dominate with 3 gens left standing.

and killer is meant to be the more demanding role?

well let's forgot all the recent nerf killer got that made a big drop in killer making the game unplayable, now it will balanced, sure lot of survivor will leave but new fun will be find and overall i think the population will balance for both side

Unplayable? Killer is literally easier than its ever been.

I agree it used to be bad but there came a point when killer was far less stressful than 1-2 man survivor.

The biggest issue as killer was the maps and now a lot of that s being fixed so...

  • “ If your seriously mad your baby mode god loops are gone get good, learn how to skillfully loop and stop relying on broken crutches.”

Brought to you by people that veto any changes to NOED and say camping is a legit strategy.

  • Lol the comments in here say it all. Killer mains with a victimhood mentality. Imagine thinking killers aren’t the power role right now. Guarantee nothing will change, after this there will still be calls for gen times to take longer, for loops to get nerfed harder.

I dont see many saying these changes arent justified for what its worth. They are. Its just that they’ve been trying to appease the loudest voices on the forum for a long time, surcicors have seen how much effort has been put into improving aspects of killers that arent fun recently and are now asking “what about us?”.

You call people whiners yet here you are trying to downplay survivors asking for improvements to the game which would make it more fun for them

What are the biggest survivor complaints though? I mean for me it would be camping and tunneling, but that's less a balance issue because those aren't op strategies or anything, a killer can still play normally and probably do better. Whereas maps and the upcoming changes have an impact on how well killers can do on those maps, so they affect the balance of a match completely.

I'm not saying that camping or tunneling isn't a problem though, I definitely hope those strategies will be nerfed some day.

I do agree that after this patch, the devs should probably look into some of the biggest frustrations that survivors have as well.

Well thats it, camping and tunneling.

For years now killers have wanted 2 things - more time, some problematic maps reworked. Finally they get that.

Survivors just want less camping/tunneling. Both strategies can still be incredibly strong against non-swf. Its not healthy for the game and needs to be worked on next.

Once thats done the game will be in a good spot, bugs aside.

  • The game is all about killer fun now. BHVR caves to peer pressure from the forums since its mostly killers complaining and demanding buffs.

Hey theres a new asymetrical resident evil game out though. You should give that a try.

  • I used to play both. Dont touch survivor anymore though because it became a headache.

The changes are good. “god loops” were horrendous. They took no skill to use but wasted so much time. They were too strong for how easy they were to use, so they were basically the Hillbilly of loops. It also took the fun out of the game when you get something like ironworks, wretched shop or grim pantry and each survivor runs there over and over again. Every survivor, every chase.

The real question is....what took them so long?

As for gen times, meh. Small changes but it didn’t really need massive changes. The fact that strong areas are being changed means survivors will go down faster which helps pressure to slow down gens, and with maps being shrunk it means less walking which means more map pressure. The latter 2 changes will have an effect on gen times so gens themselves dont actually need to be much slower.

  • The changes are good but you would hope that now maps are smaller and loops/tiles made easier for killer, Hillbilly can finally be nerfed.

Seriously? I guess because you are saying that because in the next patch maps will become more balanced for killers now?

I guess we are at that point in the game's life cycle, where one side gets buffed in one patch, and the other side immediately cries that the devs only care about the side that's getting buffed. Completely ignoring the balance changes or the context of those changes.

Or maybe the hyperbole was due to how many people complain here daily that the game is only about survivor fun?

They addressed some of the biggest killer complaints and thats good, but so far nothing about the biggest survivor complaints.

  • And if you dont bring any items? Still expect to be mori’d and tunneled.

  • Given that the game only seems to be about the killer enjoyment as this point I’d imagine DS will be reworked quite soon.

  • @Science_Guy said:

They were quite obviously only interested in addressing killer map complaints. We get to keep "enjoying" Shelter Woods, Hawkins, and the like.

That’s a point. Hawkins is dire as survivor and many survivors tend to suicide on 1st hook on that map. Its especially bad if the killer has Ruin or Devour Hope.

The game is apparantly all about survivor fun though 🙄

  • If a killer plays poorly are they not entitled to a few free hooks/kills too?

What you actually expect them to use skill to win? You must be an entitled survivor main!

  • DBD is more fun at its heart. Its basically a game of tag, which feels more fun than an objective based team shooter with clunky controls.

However deep down DBD has some real downsides to it that puts RE ahead. Like it or not camping/tunneling is a big part of DBD. The vast majority of players do it. Its not very fun having game after game where the killer just hangs around the hook and tries to defend the kills. It takes away from what makes the game fun - the chases.

Also there aren’t any broken builds. I don’t need to worry that going into the game I’m going to go against an Iri head, NOED, ebony mori build at which point its not a game anymore just a power trip for the killer.

The maps in RE aren’t great but you don’t have to put up with god windows. In dbd some maps 90% of the action takes place around 1 window or 1 building as everyone just runs there again and again and again. Its not fun to go against as killer just running around in circles or having to leave people as they sprint burst to the nearest god window anytime you get near.

You dont get awful killers either. The masterminds are mostly on par. Granted killers in DBD vary, as what one person hates another may find fun but I think most agree that going against Legion is as much fun as bullet in the head.

Most importantly so far theres 1000% less toxicity. You cant really be toxic in this game. No tbagging, no waiting at the exit gates just to stall the game, no sandbagging, no trolling, no being told to die post game, no salty comments on your steam profile.

So yeah DBD can be more fun when it works but all the negatives often leave a sour taste in your mouth after you’ve played the game. Resident Evil avoids a lot of these issues.

DBD needs to do a lot of work to sort out the game. Resident Evil could do with really working on the controls and a few balance changes.

Quite different games deep down though. As I said before one is basically a team based shooter the game is more like tag.

  • DS needs changing but NOED is “in a pretty good spot”, so say the killer mains.

Just keep running this game into the ground.

  • Wretched shop needs sorting too. Everytike you chase a survivor they run straight to the window. Find a survivor far away? Soon as you hit them they’ll use the speed burst to tun straight to it.

Its ridiculous when almost every chases in the game revolves around 1 or 2 windows in some maps

  • Well better late than never.

Hopefully now the full map will be utilised rather than having 90% of that game revolve around that one building.
