The nerfs given to billy are showing people the direction that the devs may intend on taking when making new killers and addons, or when reworking old ones. Non billy mains have just as much of a right to be vocal about the nerfs as billy mains. If we look at billys addons, nearly all of them are either usless or come with tremendous drawbacks. This is nearly the exact same as the nurse nerfs. The both had cooldowns slapped onto their kits and were given a lot of useless addons. It boils down to the idea that, "My main isn't being nerfed, but what will happen if/when they are nerfed/reworked."
Nurses power is fundementally broken. It's not something that you can compare to other killers powers as it removed a core feature if used properly, that being looping. Billy can't be compared to nurse as their are places where he can't use his saw. Billy also doesn't have to rely on his power for chases while nurse does.
But add ons that messed with the charge time/cooldown is part of the problem that pushed Billy over the edge. He needs to have add ons but not add ons that touch the timing of the chainsaw......hence why there are so many random effects in their place.
-
Yeah LF is completely different on loops now. No more needing to piggyback before chainsaw, and he can whizz around most loops with an instadown.
This all gets ignored though because killer mains take it for granted. Its all about “muh billy” for them. In their eyes no killer should ever be nerfed, only buffed.
-
Completely agree. All it took was a random stroke of luck and even a mediocre Billy could flip the entire game in an instant with a snowball that was impossible to come back from. Hell he can still do it better than most other m1 killers even after the nerf.
-
I’ve seen red rank Billys play much the same way as before. He’s not THAT different.

Billy doesn't need to be S tier, that's the whole damn point. The nerf will bring him down to still be solid, he'll just get reckt by perfect survivors 99% of the time now which is a whole different can of worms (maps, killer acceleration during loops, soundissues etc).
SoloQing against Billy was an absolute nightmare, even if you don't go down to his chainsaw, he'll just go around and find a teammate of you who will and then it's just an insane unrescueable snowball fest.
This. Once that snowball started it was pretty much impossible to stop it. Unlike other killers Billys snowball could come right from the start of the game too whereas killers like Leatherface at least have to clear the map of pallets first, or Trapper has to set some good traps etc
All Billys had add ons so theres no point talking about base billy, and if you missed one chainsaw swing you could ready another in seconds and keep trying and trying and trying until you got the hit. Basically he would get someone eventually and the snowball would begin
-
I just went against a Billy. He holds his chainsaw rev’d for ages as I run around a rock, he then gives up, sprints across the map, revs again and instadowns someone
None of these changes stopped him from sprinting map wide whenever he wanted, none stopped him from using the instadown whenever he wanted
He’s barely any different but killer mains gonna be killer mains and cry salt. Only difference is now with the add on changes at least if you’re a decent player you can keep away from the chainsaw easier. Before with add ons even a rank 20 could use the chainsaw like an M1
-
Preach brother preach 🙌🏻
Billy was definitely overperforming, and made most other M1 killers worthless. It was bad for the balance of the game.
-
What would Ghostface and Wraith players do then though?
Also Hag could still get past it.
Seriously its a great idea but killer mains have veto powers so no never gonna happen

Yes but we are here COMMUNITY. We can balance game but they are not listening to us.
This is the same community that wanted it where hooked and slugged survivors can’t break GF out of night shroud, the community that screamed and cried when Pyramid Head couldn’t camp/tunnel cages anymore, and that wanted gens to take like 3 minutes each.
-
Billy got what he deserved.
-
@Kebek said:
If by bias you mean people were enjoying playing billy and now insted of power he has a cooldown making him far less fun to use.
LF would be praised by everyone if they didn't mess with killer that comunity generally considered fine without addons just like old nurse was. People don't want history to repeat itself so they're beiing loud to make devs realise they overdid these changes.
See you say this.....but the killer mains here are losing their minds that he lost his charge time add ons.
Nobody used Billy without add ons. Nobody.
Also survivors were having fun combo-ing old mettle of man into instaheal but ya know, some things just need to go for the greater good.
-
@slim0b said:
Oh, and also they remove all his charge time addons.
The only one that exists now make him 110% speed for the whole match...
Thats because the charge time add ons were part of the problem.
People on here would always argue about how it took Billy the base time to charge his chainsaw therefore he was balanced, which is disingenuous because most Billys would have some add on for charge time.
Now hes actually stuck with the base time and all the killer mains are crying. Just goes to show how wrong people were that were saying Billy is balanced based on his default timings
-
Killer mains acting like the sky is falling yet again.
Notice when survivors get screwed its not an issue?
-
“No one complains about DS and BT”
lol, yeah its not as if 90% of this forum is just killer mains complaining about those 2 perks is it...
-
For Billy? Good riddance.
For LF? He needed them more than Billy, but I haven’t played him yet to see how his new power works.
-
The day NOED gets gutted too
-
I used to be so good with Clown, I haven’t played him in ages until the other day though and now I’m rusty with the bottles.
Truth be told I don’t find Freddys snares very fun. Its a bit dull and I much prefer his fake pallets. Clown I find more fun. Even if Freddy is stronger I guess it’s about fun really. Throwing and aiming bottles to cut people off is better than spamming m2 Until you’ve got a minefield around a loop
-
Playing against Legion is as much fun as watching paint dry. There’s not much you can do against his frenzy, and you’re either forced to hold M1 all game healing:mending or just play 1hit all game against a big standard killer. Add to the fact that most legions run mangled, thana and ruin and you’re just holding m1 eternally as your gen progress resets. Hes awful, absolutely awful. I see more hook suicides against legion than any other killer
-
I agree, they’re awful. Hawkins takes the cake as one of the worst maps in any game ever.
They’re awful as survivor because you can’t find gens, or some killers like Ghostface or pig/wraith with certain add ons just end up feeling really cheap. As killer they’re awful because its harder to navigate around and certain killers like Huntress/Nurse become less fun to play.
-
Because some people can’t have fun unless they’re being toxic, this perk is for them
-
@slunder said:
@ClickyClicky well, if a survivor gets sniped across the map, its his fault. Also, Billy`s chainsaw takes time to charge, leaving time for the survivor to juke, and if the billy is a god, then he deserves to win for his skill. Also, broken add ons need to be nerfed, but here they destroyed his base kit. And its true that Billy can use bbq. But bbq is a crutch perk that needs to be addressed on its own for being way to powerful. Deciding of the fate of a killer because of one crutch perk is not a good idea.
His chainsaw isnt hard to hit with though, not with certain add ons. They needed addressing.
and I dont think BBQ is an issue on most killers, only Billy due to how easily he can move around the map combined with his instadown. On most other killers survivors have more time to hide or get to a pallet before the killer arrives.
-
Billys snowball is like hitting a brickwall, and unlike say Trapper where it comes late game Billy’s can come very early on.
Its the whole “land on a survivor 5 seconds into the trial, instadown, hook for bbq, sprint over to next survivor, instadown, sprint back to 1st hook to stop the rescue” all within the first 60 seconds that needs to be curbed a little bit. Even when Billys losing, just the slightest mistake on a survivor side can turn the entire game into his favour in an instant.
When you get instasaw Billy unless you have an amazing looper who Billy will be dumb enough to chase for a long period you’re kinda boned, and even they can easily be caught out of position due to the amount of deadzones now and how fast Billy moves.
He just needs toning down a bit.

Yes, it can be countered, but you're relying on the inconsistency of randoms to get the job done for a majority of matches. Gen-rushing also hurts players more than they realise, not just the killers they go against.
I would also question which killers you're playing and if you even deserve to be at Rank 1 if you are just getting handed kills with NoED. The current ranking system shouldn't be gamed by a badly designed perk to get someone up to the highest levels of play.
Getting a 4k every game is also not a true sign of a good killer to me, it's more about the pain you inflict on the survivors with a 4k being a nice end reward. If you were able to get to red with only ONE kill per game, you'd have way more of my respect than being carried by NoED.
I know this all sounds harsh, but you make it sound like you've been carried by NoED. It is not health in it's current state, and changing Exposed notice to instant, rather than on first hit and it only activating after 5 generators have been completed to bring it in line with all the other perks is the only way that you'll be even close to getting me to agree with you. I have been punished by it too many times for everyone else refusing to do totems.
Hates Hillbilly, and bang on the money about NOED. I have found my DBD soulmate <3
-
Yeah he’s awful. Most take M&A which is completely broken on him, and as people have learned him it seems now that no matter what loop you’re at or obstacles you’re near he’s able to easily pull you around it and get the hit.
Add to that his slow speed and lack of map pressure and everygame against him just becomes a camp/tunnel fest against a killer who can camp the hook from a distance and has litte counterplay
-
@Tactless_Ninja said:
I lose items normally when I die anyways. More items should be disposable. You used to be able to destroy the items yourself lol.
And why shouldn't the killer be able to deal with said items. When they bring items with them it's for the sole purpose of turning the game over to their favor.
Turning the game to their favour? Lmao toolboxes are worthless now and medkits arent all that great either. Flashlights have always been situational.
That just leaves keys but most killers lobby dodge those anyway
-
This is why I stopped playing. An increase in griefing combined with the dc penalty just made the game feel like a waste of time
-
Because killer fun is the priority
-
As survivor Hawkins. I’m not surprised so many survivors suicide on 1st hook.
As killer....,I dunno, a lot have been reworked now. Probably rotten fields now due to Blendettes in the corn
-
I dont think it needed the buff. Lightborn was good to take before if you saw 3 flashlights because the survivors wouldnt expect it, and as they stand there trying to get the blind you would get free hits. If you broke a pallet and moved forward the blind would start to take effect just as you got the hit.
Now it just makes it impossible to blind....which seems a little unfair. Once I had a toxic swf and all of them used flashlights at the same time to blind me, which was actually good co-ordination against Lightborn I have to admit
-
If you’re gonna sandbag people who cleanse totems, expect a DC
If you’re gonna troll and try to bodyblock, or fast vault over and over or blow up gens to get another survivor attacked, expect a dc
BHVR has done nothing about troll players. At least this way you aren’t forced to sit there and take it.
Thats not even touching on the ever-increasing number of hackers in the game
-
Because totems are a pain in the backside to deal with solo. It sucks when you see a killer that isnt very good, does bad all game but manages to crutch a few kills at the end due to one perk, or a lame-o that tunnels one person all game or camps and then gets rewarded with a few more kills once NOED activates.
We’ve been over this before but the whole totem thing is the discrepancy between solo and swf.
-
Thats how it has been for the last year now. Play killer and its sweaty tryhard swf, play survivor and you get rank 15-20 survivors who just crouch around the edge of the map all game
-
@cheetocultleader said:
It feels like a tie. 3-4k I generally perceive as a win, because hatch. When I'm playing survivor, even if I'm the only one to live, it feels like a personal win, but not a team victory. Especially if I had to actually get the gate open as opposed to taking hatch.
Thats exactly how I feel too.

I don't know if you guys even hear yourself talking. They're / K i l l e r s / they're not supposed to be balanced and easy to play against. If you want fair and easy to beat ememies I hear the new Spongebob game is really good..
Its also a v i d e o g a m e. There’s meant to be some kind of balance and competitiveness to it. Not just “pick this build and you win”.

Because the nerf was unneeded and now he's gonna be less balanced because now it's gonna be more survivor sided. Just get better at the game. He is easy to loop if you know how to play against him. Survivor mains just want it easy.
How about you get better at the game? Billy with meta perks and add ons is braindead easy

I'm pretty sure DC was taken down because hackers were triggering the penalty on killers/players they didnt like. There was also a glitch where people who completed a match would aslo get a 5 minute DC penatly. Although to be fair, it was unclear if this was indeed a glitch verses a hacker thing happening.
It should be coming back at some point, it just needed some security fixes.
wow.
I saw truetalents video the other day where theres now apparantly a hack that makes all gens on the map pop instantly, and another that instantly ends the EGC timer
The hackers have been getting more and more frequent since that stupid dc penalty came in and so far.....silence from the devs

Billy is the most balanced killer in the game what do you mean.
And now he’s about to become even more balanced ☺️ So whats the problem?
-
Its way better without it. No longer have to tolerate trolls.
-
I've been getting that too. Rank 1 tryhard with a top tier killer and meta perks, rank 15-20 baby megs, dwights and claudettes as survivors. It's ridiculous.

Why, and in what area?
He seems to get a lot of comments about how strong he is whilst also how easy he is to play.
He still takes 2 hits to knock a survivor down, and the teleport has a lengthy cooldown already so he's not OP in that regard. I think maybe they would adjust his portal spam a bit, and maybe the lullaby. He doesn't need the non-directional lullaby. Huntress is slow and has a 45m warning on it, fredy is fast and with 32m lullaby it allows him to get a lot of cheap unnecessary hits in.
-
Freddy I would guess.

We did it Pigmainclaudette, we did it!!! 😄

Ah yes, I should have to waste a perk slot in order to counteract a game health issue, brilliant.
Are you new to Dead by Daylight? That’s usually how things work around here.

@m0rtalk0mbat said:
I just hate his ulta-rare, its so bad i cant even fathom why they would add it. A speed limiter in exchange for continuing through a pallet, like WHAT.
Just remove the speed limiter effect and its kinda decent, definitely not overpowered being able to power through a pallet with a saw.
Not overpowered.......🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
-
If the devs made it so that you couldn’t camp/tunnel people off hooks that would finally be the one move that pushed killers over the edge and got them to stop playing.
Nobody wants to learn how to play, they just want the easy route
-
well I may come back to the game after this. So one out, one back in. If they just fix Ghostface I can put up with most of the other stuff
-
I don’t see the problem. “The most balanced killer” just got even more balanced. That’a good thing right?
-
@Weederick said:
Yes, because billy is only about mobility and crossing maps, not about mindgames, zoning, curving and snowballing. -M1 crew 7 hours on billy btw
It wont change anything about skill levels, its just unnecesary
LOL. Billy isnt about any if that. Its just aboht slapping on instasaw, anti-loop perks and rhen sprinting around instadowning everyone. Snowballing is incredibly easy to do with him, too easy in fact. You dont need to be able to curve to 4k consistently as Billy.
