White Glyph challenge, you get 25k BP for escaping with it.
Yeah, but challenge points don't show up in final score, right?

Every gaming session is different. And I still consider it a win if 3 got out and I die, so about 50% win rate.
-
I still play both sides, but after being a ruthless killer for two years, I switched to a 50/50 player a couple years back. I think the biggest thing I learned was that both sides want to have fun. And playing for only arbitrary numbers of kills and escapes removes the compassion for the plight of the other side.
So, now I play as "fair" as possible without completely cucking myself. I am not concerned if a 4k turns into a 2k because I chose to be a bit more compassionate to other players. I won't use map offerings because I am not making a killer play on a map that we all know from experience is unfun.
IN short, my motto is , Play how I would like to verse. If I don't like it, I don't do it to others.

I really think DBD needs a casual Q and a competitive Q.
no extra coding needed, really. they'd still be the same game.
the only difference in either Q would be player expectations.
in comp, you'd expect everyone to bring their A-game.
whereas in casual, people wouldn't need to sweat as much.
I agree, but how do you keep the sweats from queuing up in the casual mode, for easier games.

You know you can just plug your Playstation controller into your PC right?
Yeah, I know. But, I want to learn the controls, so I can get the alleged advantage that M&K offer.

You should build the superior PC, my friend 🤭
I know, you are right. I try to play on my laptop, and just get so frustrated because I am ######### with the controls. It is hard to play a game that you are decent at, with controls that you are a noob to. So , I always return to my PS4, but, perhaps, someday.
-
If I had a dollar for every time I was told I was in a SWF, when I solo almost 100% of the time, well I could probably buy that PS5 I want.

"Do unto others" may be the optimal way to approach life (it's the way I try to play), but expecting everyone else to do so is setting yourself up for feeling anger and disappointment.
No, you are right.
You can't expect it from others. And I respect everyone's right to play as they like.
It's just how I approach the game.
-
I say, play how you would like to verse.
If you really have no problems facing some unfun tactics, then by all means use them.
But, if you dislike when something is done to you, then why do it to someone else? 🤔

Devs do something ??? You realize....You can make friends and play in SWFs.....Right ?
Yeah, but solo q is a different mindset.
I don't want to play with others, I dislike talking on the mic and I prefer to play on my own timeline, readying up without obligation to others.
So, we suffer through the ######### games for those few gems, when 4 randos pull of fun escapes.
But, I guess that is the state of the game, if you want to have a chance of surviving consistently, swf is the thing.
-
Solo Q teammates are the real killers.
-
Im not a huge Noed fan either, but calling people trash for using a perk in the game seems silly. Especially with all the perks available on both sides.
-
This is why I'm against BT as basekit!
-
In almost 5 years, I have never taken a break.
But I do play much less, maybe 2 days a week now.
-
At one time I thought I'd need to go to a meeting to quit this game.
Now I do it in moderation, few days a week , shorter sessions.
Almost 5 years now

They're always more fun. For sure.
Hope to see you soon! I lurk a lot, even if I am not talking, I'll start saying hi, when i pop in, I just feel bad because I don't talk a lot.
Keep killing it my friend!

For sure. Funny enough. I normally let "bully squads" go. Who spend their time trying for flashlight saves and pallet stuns. Over being boring and slamming gens and pre dropping pallets.
I get that, sometimes those games are more fun, than the gen rush and get out in 5 mins
-
Yeah it happens from time to time. It's so you can't even say GG anymore without getting hate. I once told a Deathslinger, that they were amazing , because they really impressed me with their skill getting a 4k on Haddonfield.
They told me to off myself.
I'm learning it's best to just move on without saying anything.
Sad state of the game right now.

I truly do 😂. I used to give those people attention. And I guess it can be good and funny content. Ralph certainly makes the most out of those people. Anymore. I just ban them without acknowledging them.
Lol, no doubts. It sux that they can't find a middle ground for those of us that don't want to play so competitively and those that do.
I mean, I play drunk most of the times and really just like the fun horror aspect, but I was a sweat lord for my first two years in the game. So I understand both mindsets. As well, both sides, as I am pretty 50/50.

I highly doubt it was intended to be a party game as SWF didn’t exist at the start
Doubt, noted.
I don't think they expected it to be an Esports game either.
Guess, it's irrelevant now, as it has become such.

With that said. You come watch sometimes. I try to play as fair as people let me. But I do try to win. But I also don't act like it means anything if people escape.
No, I see you play and see the hate you get sometimes. Which is not on you, but on fools that can't take an L without complaining.
But, I guess these people are the ones that make this game as competitive as it has become.

Maybe. I just think the game itself is what breeds it. It's literally a "us vs them" game. More then a party game. I honostly believe the only way this could be a party game. Is if the killers were AI..Or survivors were AI...I've never seen people get mad at video game AI coding before. Its the meer fact that it's another human being you're doing against. It brings out the competitive nature.
I can give you an example of a party game. It's called phasmaphobia. That's a party game in which you're working together. To figure out the ghost. While the ghost tries to kill you eventually. No one gets mad at the ghost because it's just an AI. Whereas if someone was actually playing the ghost, and there was ways to kill people. That people didn't like. Folks would get mad as hell
Fair Point!

@BrokenSouI said:

It is. But competitiveness is still ingrained in nature itself.
Even in video games.
True, that I agree with. And I always thought the words. "Entity Displeased" was a huge catalyst in making this game competitive .
-
I agree with you OP. I think we took what should be a fun party game and turned this game into something it was never meant to be.
I agree that competition has its place in the world, I just don't think a repetitive RNG game is it.
-
@BrokenSouI said:
People are competitive by nature. Hell. Even animals are competitive by nature. Rather it's for mates or territory or dominance.
Not sure why people feel this game would be any different
Well, to be fair, defending one's territory for the purpose of securing food, life, and mates, it much different than playing a party game.
Isn't the whole point of civilization, to rise above our animal instincts?

yo ace main? i've got 200 flashlights yellow green purple combined on ace baby
I am with you my friend, hundreds of medkits, it is a glorious thing!!
-
I do like to drink, and probably could out drink everyone of them. Maybe not David. But, I would make it close.
-

none, i hate alcohol + havent drunk in a while. that might change this august though bc my friend's have a plan to get me wasted and im scared.
Be careful my friend, I do like to drink, but tolerance takes time. There is an app, Alcodroid, or something, that can track your intake and prevent you from over doing it, worth checking out.
-
I played Claudette, because my daughter said I would need self care. So I played her exclusively , P3, but switched because of all the hate she got.
So, mained Tapp and Meg for awhile, but no I only run Ace, except for dailies or challenges.
-
Have you played solo q?
If not, play one night and you will see.
You will be begging for it to be increased.
-
It is very situational, that is for sure.
And, it sucks when it happens to you, especially since I run DS. But, if you can get 2 or 3 out, it is better than dying trying to save me or someone else.
Plus, there is always another game.
-
Me, the other day in fact.
Some good games , then one thorough ass kicking , ouch
-
Damn, that is some streamer level play time.
-
Lucky me.
I just have to drop 2 million on Ace to pad that inventory!!!
-
Play more games.
Other than that, killer is the role to get those bloodpoints.
Spirit, bbq and a pudding is almost 100k a game.

You kinda did turn it into "Us vs Them" by being condescending to anyone and everyone who 4ks regardless of their reasons.
Not my intention. I was speaking as a killer, not as a survivor, so still not a us vs them.
I just don't get it. But, others have reminded me that people are still going for adepts or just want to make sure they pip.
Things I just don't care about at this point in the game.

No. I want the 4K.
How come I never see Survivors say 'I never see the need for a 4 escape? Take the 3 escape and try to find the hatch first.' It's always Killers who should 'stop trying' and 'take the 3K' to accommodate Survivor fun.
Someone always has to turn it into us versus them.
No, I would say the same thing to survivors against a noed killer.
Take the 3 out and leave.

Entity cares.
4k is necessity to iridescent emblem for sacrifice, and that's the biggest problem I think.
It is needed to both pip up and adept.
Yeah, that is a fair point.
But , I guess I have played so long I don't care about those things.
-
Yeah, I prefer solo. But with some tactics that are unfun, becoming more prevalent combined with sus teammates, I can understand why more people SWF.
Just look at, looking for players, threads, and they say as much.
-
I'll never understand the need to 4k that much.
Take the guaranteed 3k, and hope to find the hatch first, who cares if one gets there first?
-
Tonytheduff, angry pug, swehyt, thecoolmkeshow, durtydanclan, he is just a fun wholesome dude, ,Cope, to name a few.
-
Yeah, hiding in a wall structure should be bannable!
-
DS is better than BT!
-
Hawkins was a ######### map and I'm glad it is gone.
I would trade RPD for Hawkins return tho.
If your main survivor game is SWF, you're boosted.
If you tunnel, every game at every opportunity, you're boosted.
This is not a competitive game, it's a party game that folks want to pretend actually requires some kind of "skill" to play.
-
Fine, but you shouldn't get hit with chains when solving the box.

Because skill should be rewarded
Skill? In DBD? That is a pretty low ceiling. Game gets pretty repetitive after awhile. I mean, with so much RNG involved and passive pressure from the new killers, what skill is there?
-
Why should you have to work for everything?

He is just so fun to play!
