I appreciate you play normally, I also dislike this meme.
I ready up to play not to just play around. I see killer, I start chase, I'm not trying to boop.
-
Personally, the only time I bag is if you're a straight tunneler.
But, as far as why people get salty about it, I think it is all the fragile egos hiding behind computer screens.
Toxic people are just Toxic.
Had a Nemesis, tunnel camp me all game, DS, tunneled, camped at EGC with noed.
Then says, "ggs" and sends me a friend request, SMH.
-
Honestly, as a Marine vet, video games are the least stressful thing I deal with.
Now if a car backfires while I'm walking down the street, I just may jump into the nearest tree.
Stressors are definitely relative.
-
I kinda do. I hate New ruin, while it can go down fast, if it stands for awhile, it is so frustrating.
Plus, I can hit greats much more regularly now.
-
Play how you like.
But, are you only here to play for a certain number of kills?
Do you not enjoy the chase, pressuring gens, giving survivors hell?
Is getting outplayed, unfun for you?
Because, isn't that the point on both sides, sometimes you outplayed your opponents and sometimes, well, you got out played. However, you never learn nor enjoy the thrill of it all, if you're sitting under a hook.
-
I love me some Trapper. I don't care that he is considered weak, he is fun for me. And throw on some nasty add ons and you can have a lot of fun!!!
-
If you can't, then don't.
Why let a game stress you out?
And just for the record, I play with a flashlight and bond, as solo q.
-
How do you know these groups are one and same? The ones that complain and those that are competitive.
-
All good things come to an end.
Nothing lasts forever.
In 2 years there will probably be a small pool of players hanging on, continously versing each other.

Yeah, for me it's always been vastly easier to pip as killer all the way up to r1 than solo survivor.
Agreed.
Solo, so much is outside of your control .

I reach iridescent with Legion lol. Getting rank 1 with killer is not very hard and generally quicker for me to do than survivor, though with suvivor or killer I can reach rank 1 in about a week of playing. Focus on pressuring gens not killing. SWFs like to play risky so getting downs isn't too difficult if you keep applying pressure to gens. Bring lightborn too. On legion I like to run ruin, haunted grounds, lightborn and brutal strength. I average 2-3 kills a game even against SWF. Plus I mainly play survivor after reaching r1 on killer so mind gaming and zoning is super easy for me.
Same for me, I rush killer to iridescent, then mostly dabble in survivor for the rest.
-
Iri killer is easier for me to achieve than solo survivor.
-
It's a very repeatative game that is not noob friendly.
But 6 years, is still impressive. I'm sure it will hang a bit longer
-
Just die on hook and get to the next game
-
Yeah, close App on that one
-
10%, tunneled at about 30%, which I dislike more, personally.
-
Just pound gens. I also do not want to farm, I would rather be tunneled and moried, than farm. But, just pound gens and open the exit gates. 80 seconds times 5 is 400 seconds. Seven minutes and you should be out the doors with a Iri Lightbringer, EZ.
-
Love me a good basement Trapper game, 4 on the hook at one time, is pure bliss!
-
This happens to me a lot, honestly.
The only meta I run is DS, and it's because of this exact situation. The moment you take it off, you get straight tunneled out of the game .
But that is the chicken and the egg state of the game.
Both sides, damned if you do, damned if you don't.
-
I give up ez downs for the challenge.
I'm five years in and don't need trophies or bloodpoints. I prefer not to tunnel and a hard 2k is more satisfying than an EZ 4k.
-
I would trade Dead Hard and CoH for no tunneling, straight up.

If that happened to me as killer, the survivors would not have a good game.
As survivor, I'd probably remove myself from the match ASAP.
Obviously it's a personal choice, but I tend to not entertain people taking advantage of the situation.
I so agree. Often in solo q I play the sacrificial ward, to prevent any match offerings on either side.
Embrace the randomness!
-
My ques are instant.
So maybe in your timezone and local survivors are wondering this.

Oh look, it's the guy that has to pay for the electric bill on every post. Oh, you don't? Then why is it your problem if people want to talk about things that don't interest you?
Who the ######### are you and why are you quoting me if you aren't adding something to the discussion?
If you are interested in the discussion, quote them, not me, as I obviously am not interested.

It was a 4 men swf bully squad that were trying to their damn best to make sure I had a miserable time. Then when they found out I had lightborn they cry about it.
Sorry about your experience, welcome to dbd.

Absolutely, my friend. I have a doozy of a thread coming about how these survivors called me toxic for running infectious Freight. So they couldn't attempt saves 🤭
Haha, well, yours I would read! With enthusiasm!
-
Are we coming to the forums and creating a thread, every time one person says something to us?
The majority of the player base understands the game and the challenges and the tactics....etc.
Please stop paying attention to a vocal minority, and just move on, trusting the rest of us know how the game is played.
-
Self Awareness is apparently hard to come by anymore.
The anonymity of the internet only makes it worse.
-
Honestly, Urban Evaders, should have a lullaby, like the Huntress or something.
-
A slugging nurse, usually isn't sweating, it's just that EZ for them!
-
I wish my solo q games went like this. I get these kind of teammates, like 2 in 10 games.
The rest of my games are 3 or 4ks as I do an average of 3 gens myself.
Of course, switch back to killer and I see the gens fly......
-
All I have had tonight was her, and one baby Billy.
-
Yeah, life of the solo q dbd gamer.
-
To be fair, if they are baby survivors, they may be completely over matched in these lobbies and want out.
I tried to teach my friend to play, and he kept trying to escape, because he was so new, he didnt understand how it was a bad thing to do
-
It's just not that simple.
It's sided towards, RNG, strong addons and experience.
Surely 4 Great survivors have a strong possibility of winning. But as killers and solos know, that is not the norm.
Plenty of my killer games and solo games end in 4ks as well.

It's a good feature, but I'm too used to it being hold. 5+ years of muscle memory is hard to get rid of. I wish it was introduced earlier.
This right here.
I so agree, I haven't even turned it on, I much prefer to play the way I am used to.
-
Are you ever disappointed going to a store and not getting bad customer service?
Na, I prefer those, "Good vibes, good vibes"
-
I need a new hobby
-
I hook you until death hook, then mori you.
Cages are for saving time or EGC. Caging early, allows two survivors to lose the effect.
I'd rather mori you before your third hook.
-
I always sit at a million. Spend some to get to 900k , rinse and repeat.
All the extras go on my man Ace and currently trapper.
I have plenty of addons on killers I have leveled up over the years
-
I'm getting you before second, because that is what I want done for me. I run DS, give me a chance to use it.
The better title is, run DS and save just before second.

I can concede that it could be considered as tunneling. But even if it was, it would be justified tunneling in that case, which DS does not exist to protect against as that would be unfair.
Fair enough.
I always enjoy hearing other viewpoints!
Hope your day has been a good one!

The moment you try and progress any objective, it ceases to be tunneling. Correct. Repairing progresses an objective. Healing injuries/downed survivors progresses an objective. Unhooking progresses an objective. Cleansing/blessing totems progresses an objective. Sabotaging progresses an objective. It either advances something for survivors, or undoes something for killers, hence, progresses the game. It would be unfair to still retain the DS protection which is effectively a full 60 seconds of invincibility against being hooked, while you are actively advancing something for survivors/undoing something for the killer. The reason it doesn't deactivate at the end of a heal is because if it didn't, it punishes the killer because if they down faster and the heal didn't finish, they are denied a hook. But if they wait for the heal, they have to do twice the chase all over again. So it forces them into a lose-lose where no matter what they do, their own skill is irrelevant.
You are free to heal mid-chase, and it can definitely be fun, but that situation is not tunneling, and if you go down, that is the risk you voluntarily choose to take.
Well, I appreciate your point and the discussion.
I would counter that it is still tunneling, however, I see it is now my decision to risk the forfeiture of my perk for the thrill of successfully healing midchase.
But tunneling is tunneling. The killer had no idea I would do this when they began tunneling me. And I understood the parameters of the perk I ran.
Thanks for the discussion!

It’s not tunneling because you are now trying to progress an objective by undoing the killer’s pressure by healing your injury. So it has stopped being tunneling the second you attempted to heal. Try not getting hit if you’re going to heal mid-chase. You’re literally asking for free invincibility while actively undoing their efforts. If you go down while trying to heal, that’s a skill issue. Get better.
But, isn't it the same thing? After 5 years I like to add some spice to the game, and healing midchase is one of the best feelings in DBD.
I guess your point is, don't heal while being tunneled?
If so, it's no longer tunneling? Even tho I'm being tunneled? Because I'm removing the pressure from a tunneling killer that chooses to apply pressure to a recently unhooked survivor?
Am I correct in understanding?

That’s not tunneling. That’s the killer happening to find a moron healing right under a hook. The second you try and heal yourself, you are progressing the game by undoing their pressure. Thus, it is not tunneling anymore. Get good and don’t get hit while trying to heal mid-chase if you’re going to make a dumb play like that.
You are not hearing me, and now you are insulting?
I'm saying killer returns as my feet hit the ground and I begin chase. As the silly killer tries to mindgame a safe pallet and the such, I spare a few seconds to heal.
How is this not being tunneled. So your point is if I don't heal, I'm being tunneled, but if I tap heal a few seconds as the killer plays ring around the rosie, hoping I jump the pallet, I'm not being tunneled?
Notice I continue the discussion without insults.

That isn’t tunneling. Pressuring someone trying to undo your pressure is called normal gameplay. You don’t get to complain it’s tunneling when you’re actively trying to undo the other side’s work. Try being better and just not getting hit till you finish the heal.
If they return to the hook and chase me, they are tunneling.
Because I choose to try and heal midchase doesn't erase the fact that thet returned to the hook and are attempting to put me right back on it
Perhaps we misunderstood each other. Do you think I mean killer finds me healing somewhere? Because that is not what I mean.
I mean my feet hit the ground and killer starts to chase me. In between pallet stuns, I try to heal. Why should I lose my DS if not successful?

You’re literally asking for 60s of effective invincibility while you actively undo their pressure. That is stupid. You don’t get to have DS if you are progressing the game/undoing killer pressure.
But I'm still being tunneled. You are ignoring that fact. Because I slowly heal myself while being tunneled I should lose a perk. If you can't down me and prevent me from healing while tunneling, do you deserve the pressure?

I was never around then so I never got to use old Prayer Beads. Looked very miserable to go against though lol.
It truly was, but like other things, when you mained them you were much better at versing it.
So, it wasn't impossible to figure out she was running those and react accordingly.
But, with discordance and beads, I started almost every game with a grab.
