for the first few rounds, we steamrolled the killers and everyone made it out, i ran an unhooking/stealth build w/ BT to give everyone a fighting chance, almost every round was a gold or iridescent lightbringer. i tried to play as altruistic as i could while still getting gens done, but i guess some people still had issue with it
Yeah, sounds like you were doing just fine. Why people get so upset when someone is still contributing to the team is beyond me
-
I have no issues unless you play so stealthy you don't push gens.
Stealth is fine, but overly stealthy to the point of hardly finishing a gen all match is a problem.
Also, when you continue to Stealth with no hooks and you won't take agro for someone on death hook. I find that pretty selfish.
-
Well, here is at least one survivor you may see that won't be running it!
-
Doesn't matter if you're winning or losing. Dcing sucks for everyone involved.
Why do people with ######### internet always seem entitled to continue to play? As if the rest of us should just shut up , accept and deal with your constant DCs.
What a weird thing to say.
-
Just stacked gen slowdown.

You need to stop by for community SWF Saturdays sometime 🤣
Haha, I just might have to, but warning, Saturdays, might catch me under the influence!!! Lol
-
Me, personally I do gens and help my teammate.
You don't get points sneaking around the map and why prolong it? If I can't get my teammate up, then I get to practice my looping
-
Not for at least a year
-
Please don't play selfish. It is the bane of selfish q already.
Trust many of us appreciate you coming back for us
-
Just make cypress mori basekit, that's it.

I find that true. But my friend tries to get me but then they just tunnel you no matter what they do or not. I would rather play with somebody that makes it a good team.
Yeah, tunneling is just one of those things. If a Killer wants you out of the game, usually through tunneling and camping, they can guarantee it.

Tunnelling and camping don't go away when you play in a group
They don't, but you usually get friends that will take agro, hits to allow you to sneak off, sacrifice a hook state if you are on death hook, and do gennys so maybe even being tunneled, you make it to an open exit gate.
But, that's the biggest difference to me. It's not the comms that make swf strong, it's the commitment to each other. Solos just don't regularly commit to each other as a team.
-
I'd argue unless you do it professionally, neither matter.
-
Well, after a certain amount of bourbon, I may be.
Skillchecks are my sobriety check on a Friday night. If I miss a few, time to put the Reggae Rock on the Bluetooth, and see if my lady wants to dance around the living room!

Had a game tonight we’re three survivors spawned in right next to my Ruin. Saw it happen as I had Lethal. As you can imagine the Hex didn’t last long.
That was the best thing about old undying. You didn't need Lethal to see the auras of survivors destroying your totem as you frantically tried to cross the map.
😆
-
I've seen Turjay do this on twitch. It is pretty funny when they realize he isn't ass after all and all end up slugged.

I mean, it's possible you've reached an MMR only a few players have, and maybe that's why you're seeing the same people.
Does it go that low? 😆 🤣
-
When I start to worry, is when I start seeing the same people in my lobbies. And it is happening more now then ever before.

Aka your go-to strat is to setup a camping scenario which most of the community so much loves. /S
And now try again without any camping or tunneling or excessive slugging. Because I tried, at least for a time and then gave up and only play for BP and don't care about kills, rank or MMR.
And where did you get those 15% from? And the rest of your explanation sounds like subjective experiences which could heavily differ in other regions or from other factors.
I hear you on my current strategy, but trust I have done every killer and strategy available. I am just having a lot of fun with Trapper currently. And I play how I like to verse, so while I do have a pretty devastating web set up, I don't tunnel and smart survivors will get rid of it early. But, you are right, not everyone likes it. But we as killers know, rarely does everyone like our win conditions.
I also did the whole "nice" killer thing, and it got way too easy and unfun.
I certainly agree things are subjective, and admittedly, I came to the forum last night bothered by some tough games. And the 15% is certainly based on my experiences. But I just do not see survivors on the level that everyone else claims to get game after game. The survivors I get are mostly potatoes, or lack the situational awareness needed to be a threat to the killer.
Honestly, the solo games I have had recently have just been frustrating. So for me, at least as killer, win or lose, I have a say in how the game goes. As a solo, I can't get off the hook if no one comes and saves me.
Thanks for the discussion and counterpoints!

Sorry but until the first hook and/or kill the flow/tempo of the game is initially completely in the hands of the survivors still.
The killer role is meant to wrestle control over the game pace back from the survivors. Do they split on 4 gens? Have they brought any gen oriented items or perks? Do they do totems or chests? Do they save before second state and if yes how close? And so on.
The speed of the trial is totally set by the mentality of the survivors until the killer manages to exert enough pressure to gain said control.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2856035#Comment_2856035
This∆
I play as a friendly killer for ages now and it's not completely stopping survs from such nice behaviour. Don't even mention friendly/grateful responses. 90% are either nothing or toxic waste.
Well that may be true in about 15% of games. But as every solo q gamer knows, that just is not the norm. Teammates will spawn in together, immediately start doing a gen together, never considering splitting gen pressure, let you go to second constantly, 3 gen constantly, sneak around never taking a hook stage from someone on death hook, avoid agro like the plague.
As killer, I play end game basement trapper. I control most of the flow of the games I am in. Set up my 3 gen near the basement and wait for them to enter my web. Smart gamers will attempt to break my 3 gen early, which are interesting challenging games. But, 70% will pound the gens I give them and get snowballed at the end.
-
Try solo q, at least when I play killer, I decide the flow of the game and how I want to play.
-
Yes, the God damn solo q nightmare.
Why are survivors so afraid to play the game anymore? People have no situational awareness, letting each other hit second, for no reason, just screws the team.

I do play in a 4 man swf but my friends have like 100 200 hours so usually i take a little longer loop so they can learn the game a little more and i get to pay the price for being "toxic" by literally just playing the game
No doubts. God forbid you actually get a decent loop, then you are villanised

Even so... playing killer is more enervating, because of bugs that favor survivors, DH, etc, if you get tunneled or camped in almost every match as a soloQ despite it sucks its more relaxed and playing survivor is less punishing.
I can't play more than 5 games as killer without my neck getting stiff or sore for example, while as survivor i can play all day if i want to. And it doesn't depend on if i "win or not" playing the game right now as a killer is not very enjoyable.
I guess it's relative, because I don't share this opinion when I play killer.
-
Dude, sorry but camping and tunneling seems to be how people play killer now.
Respect to all killers that still play a bit old school, and patrol gens and win chases.
Not hating, but as I'm sure you understand, also not enjoyable.
This game seems to be trending towards tunneling ass killers facing nothing but swfs.
I am So ready for Ash vs the evil dead. No way it's worse than solo survivor.
And for those that say killer is harder than solo q, well, we read it above, can't get tunneled and camped as killer.
-
Maybe getting on the forums after some tough games isn't ideal.
But ######### those dcing quiting ass survivor teammates.
You all make the game so unfun. Do you understand, that just hanging on the hook benefits the team? Hit the ######### skill checks and we will get you before death. We are Trying to make up ground on these gennys.
Tunneling seems to be the goddamn meta, so take your turn and help the team.
-
Congratulations, I guess.
-
Idk exactly what you are saying.
But from a survivor , that just played 12 games , escaped 2 times and hit DS , no #########, 10 times, I'm ######### tired of it to.

Yeap. I've said over and over again. It was a fair enough add on. That helped people with hearing issues like me
Agreed. Idk why they got rid of it. But to be fair, it was hanzel and gretel blood size breadcrumbs to where a survivor was.
-
I would concur. Father's Glasses were a fun addon on, and like I you I rarely used them. Ofcourse when combined with MDR they were similiar to cherry blossom combo now, you could track so easily at higher speeds.
But, I think the point that it would assist others that have hearing issues is a great idea. And it wouldn't be as powerful with the new directional ques.

The funny thing is I dont even get sneaky hackers. I get those type of hackers who just play normally but once I create enough pressure or the game goes well for me they just lose their patient and go full on with insta healing everyone, insta unhook, infinit blind or stun me and pop all gens.
I dont mind that much if there is a goofy hacker who just enjoys the goofyness of it and have fun with everyone but I hate those ppl who just play nornal and once the game doesnt go their well they simply destroy my game and thats it then, its a giant time waste and its really frustrating.
Yeah the goofy ones are not so bad. I played a game where the pig downed us all instantly and flew around the map, then carried me through the exit doors and let me escape with like 3 gens to go.
Normally I don't like games that are not played correctly, but I had to laugh at that one.
-
Hard to know anymore what counts as a hit and what doesn't.
-
The irony of complaining the healing meta is killing DBD, when it was the non healing meta the created the current gen rush and get out as fast as possible game play.
SMH
-
I definitely feel you on this. But, on the flip side, sometimes they last all game, which gives tremendous value.
That is the gamble with hexes.
But, l play end game basement trapper currently. So, they can finish the gens all they want, My snow ball is just getting started.
-
Laughs in Bond, Kindred, Windows and DS!
-
-
I am a big batman fan, and loved that they returned to his darker nature.
But I think they put a bit too much story in this movie. Maybe they could have just focused on the Riddler a bit more.

To the people who complain about solo q, why not just, ya know, get some friends to play with? The game is easier that way.
Personally, because I like to play on my own timeline.
I don't want to be on mics, I don't want to have to ready up on others preferences, I don't want map offerings played, I don't want dbd EZ mode.
I like the challenge of solo as well the freedom. I also like to play a lot of killer, and I play how I like to verse.
So while I am all for others fun and support them playing how they like. I prefer, honestly answering, "Solo" when a killer asks if we were swfing?

Not true. You don't die on the hook any faster when the killer is no chiller and hits you repeatedly; it ain't pretty and is usually a show of bad character, but you could suicide on hook if you chose so, even though most people would hang in there as long as possible in order to spite that spiteful killer.
But waiting at the exit gates for the sole reason that you can do one glorious t-bagging to rub it in that you won, just in case the killer failed to realize it, just wastes massive amounts of everyone's time.
Now that I also play survivors regularly I see so many survivors, mostly with flashlights, that rapid-fire clickety click in the sky outside the exit gate and, of the killer doesn't show up, even run out and go looking for them... But never too far out, because its not about bravely, its all about being a douche.
I know that some players wait to see if someone gets caught by the killer, in order to go for a late save, which is valid, but once all four are save its just childish behavior.
Well, I counter it by being a bit childish myself, ie I walk close enough that they can probably hear their heartbeat and just afk and watch some YouTube on my second screen. Its insaaaaane how many survivors stubbornly insist on their stupid, little victory dance and will wait till the last second.
I agree it's about being a bit of a douche, but it's just a game. Doesn't change the outcome.
And if your point is about time wasted, well you can chase the survivors out.

Is hitting on hook to make the survivor shut up a valid reason to hit?
Sure.
But you don't need a reason. It's a game, if you want to be a ruthless killer, so be it.
-
As a solo q gamer, his free passive pressure is a bit of bull #########.
My point has always been make solving the box immune to the chain hunt. Then if they want to teleport they can, but not being able to solve it just gets old.
-
Sadly, I ready for a high probability of being tunneled.
-
Tbagging at gate is no different then being hit on hook.
Neither change the outcome nor are a big deal.

I don't wanna easy wins. I wanna play fun games, not kill simulator. And if survivors give up that early, how can i enjoy? So now i see, suiciding and dc'ing against Nurse is not rare and that's problem. What about you guys play normal? You can escape against her, she is not that hard.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2852661#Comment_2852661
This is why BHVR should ignore stats. It can be manipulate by survivors. Wow, seriously i never thought with this way.
No, trust me, I understand. I don't blame you at all for being annoyed with those survivors. Trust me, us solo q gamers get just as annoyed at them as well.
But the truth is, some things, people just prefer not to deal with and want it over as soon as possible.

I think this just shows that with lack proper communication actions can be misconstrued. I’ve seen it many times when I’ve watched back videos when I’ve had a TTV in my lobby. I think I’m coming across one way and the other sees it as something else. For example, in one game I was last alive. I was trying to offer my toolbox and screwed up and t bagged. I saw after the killer saying “No hatch for you for being toxic”.
That killer probably just plays that way, it wasn’t personal to them and doesn’t realize that it can be seen as toxic to some and hence the GG and friend request.
Fair enough, and I appreciate your perspective. Now, i just replied with GG, but obviously ignored the friend request.

Honestly, it's ridiculous survivors can throw a game within the rules.
I certainly agree, as a solo q gamer, I hate to see it. But, doesn't mean I don't understand it.
-
The old system was just too easy to Smurf. And there were many of them.
-
I don't think so.
Because it's really only good on those that can loop well anyways. It buys others maybe a few more seconds .
So I imagine those that are really good will still escape at a higher rate than those that struggle in chase.
-
Certain things are not even fun to win against.
Frustrating to others, but can we really blame people for not wanting to deal with a long drawn out game?
I hear both sides say all the time, " I just came home from work, I just want to play some fun games, ....." Enter complaint here.
If you play both sides, you know exactly why people are killing themselves against DMS PR Nurse.
Is it fair to everyone else, no. Is it understandable and within the rules, yes.
-
Base game is Meg.
Three great perks to start with. No other survivor has a better 3 perks as basekit, imo.
