Spookyloopz just made a video, I believe you are supposed to cut these ones inward. And you can 50/50 at the T. Hopefully I got that correct, I am still trying to learn myself as, well, I kind of agree with OP. Anything with 2 windows is just naturally going to be survivor favored unless you mind game them, imo.
Yes, never chase from the outside

I get that, I just haven't gotten to those high ranks for needing DS I guess, I also apparently can never hit the skill check, even though it's just an overcharge skillcheck, lol
Yeah, that was me at first. Now I hit it pretty regularly, even on my drunk by daylight nights, lol

I mean, I try to take agro but the killer just passes through me to get to the unhooked survivor, so I run BT so they can get the speed boost from the hit if they want
That is fair, that is why I prefer DS to BT, more in my control that way.
-
Fk BT, waste of a perk slot, take the hit and assume agro.
Unless it's EGC, then thanks for the BT.

Learning to chase LT is a Killer 101 class.
I'm sure there is a video on YouTube.

No that's not it, as soon as I'm in a chase I stop using them, as to not loose them,
But his shock is most important in chase, so as to shut down loops

yall fr be thinking I just want to stomp on noobs. I just want players that don't sweat their nuts off even when I'm not trying. its literally annoying and its why people dislike red ranks.
Then, don't sweat, play chill and you will naturally derank .
But, 15, from red ranks, are you just going to let everyone go? Because the skill difference would be large.

My experience was Survivor was easy. Playing with 3 others, those Gens were done really fast and each subsequent map I played on was the same ease of play. Not because of any skill I brought, but the skill of the team players. OFC your mileage varies, but that was my experience.
Fair enough, and you may indeed had some smurfs on your team.
But, noob survivors usually go down quick. IMO
-
Friend, if you think survivor is easy at the beginning of the game , you have a lot to learn.
Killer is way easier at the beginning, so unless you ranked up quickly or are facing nothing but smurfs, I gotta say this post is suspect.

I ######### hate smurfs.
@pizzavessel15 if you really want to depip and learn new killers, then play new killers at your high level and you’ll naturally depip. Kill two birds with one stone.
Thank you!!!
Me as well, can't stand people just looking for noobs to stomp. Play more chill and you will naturally depip and your rank will settle where it should be.

I actually think putting people who havent been hooked to the exposed status would be better. That way it truly does what it's designed to do: punish genrushes.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2449170#Comment_2449170
With that logic, old DS was fine as it was. Old exhaustion was fine as it was. They were perks in the game, there were many of them.
NOED isnt balanced enough to be as powerful as it can be. It's pretty much designed to punish a genrush. Right now, it doesnt punish a genrush so much as it rewards facecamping. Which doesnt really need any perks.
Dude, I never said anything about my opinions on the design of the perk, or how strong it was. Only thing I referred to was "earning" something. And nothing in this game is "earned". IMO.
-
It really comes down to how you define wins. IF it is only a 4ks and 4 man escapes then you often do resort to some unfun tactics. Which, I think most of us do at the start of our careers.
At some point, after countless 4ks or 4 man outs, and then becoming more of 50/50 player, wins may be defined differently. I now, personally play for fun. I like to be competitive, but I also play how I would live to verse. So if it's 2k with lots of chases and fun mindgames and no tunneling, then I won.
If we get 1 or 2 people out, and I die and I feel I contributed to my teams success, leading chases away from objectives, doors, etc, then I had fun and it's a win.
-
I don't hold a grudge in real life, I sure as hell am not doing it in a video game.
-
I felt similar. I felt is was almost style base match making. As the killer and Survivors all seemed to play similar in my games.
Competent, competitive, but not sweaty.
-
And another smurf is born!
-
NO reason necessary, Yes.
Stacked with gen slowdown all game and NOED end game. No.
-
Selfish Q, gotta love it.
Maybe, they were, "Just doing Bones"
-
By all means, play how you want to. And I am sorry you have to deal with this #########, some folks just have no sense.
If you want a reason, there are plenty of us that appreciate this kind of gameplay and will not act like such #########. And you would be the type of player that makes for fun interactive games.
I also have a lot of time in game. And I have probably had every play style possible. But lately I play how I would like to verse. This way I feel I am always winning. Even if the game doesn't always agree with me. But if I don't enjoy something, I won't do it to others. Even if it cost me an escape, or turns a 4k into a 2k.
On a side note, I still think the funniest thing in this game is being called a tunneler by a team with four DS and never getting hit with one.

What more answer do you want? If there aren't any dull totems, NOED can't proc. It's a really simple solution.
The problem is this answer shows a simplistic view of the game and a lack of understanding of solo q.
For instance, if the killer camps, everyone says, do gens and get out. Well, there goes the do bones argument, as you can not do both.
If the killer tunnels, well the plan would be to take hits, trade hooks, trade agro, all the while trying to do gens, and there goes the do bones argument.
If people are being slugged, same thing, another objective for survivors. It is silly to act like gens are all survivors do and then they run out the gates. There is a whole game being played out while survivors are attempting to do the gens.
And remember, I didn't have a problem with No Ones Even Dead yet, just when stacked with slow downs all game then into NOED. Like please pick one. Now, this does get a lot easier for SWF, but like many of us solo players can tell you, WE are not all in a SWF, regardless of what a killer likes to believe.
And doing bones is not the way to beat NOED. YOu do bones by the doors so they can't be camped. You do hard to get/find ones you come across so don't have to rely on someone finding them if you are on hook. And you remember where the other ones are. SO if NOED does proc, you just increased your odds of knowing exactly where it is, also less viable in Solo Q.
But, by all means play how you want. I agree, is you do nothing but SWF and run Meta, your ass is boosted. Same with killer, if you running slowdown stacked with NOED, then your ass is boosted. Nothing wrong with being boosted, I don't know why people get so defensive over this term.

I never said it was or it wasn't there is a reason that killers stack so many slow down perks and it's a problem that BHVR needs to find a way to fix and that's gen speeds, blaming the killer because they have to stack these perks to slow down the game is not the answer or the way to go about it.
i.e if they made ruin base but change the speed based on how many survivors are left so if they are caught in a 3 gen with only 2 ruin would only work at 50% normal speed still giving them a chance to do gens, that would allow killers to start picking other perks to bring that might not be a slowdown perk.
Just like survivors using DS the old version was broken and most people knew it but since they fixed it if a killer eats a DS then 90% off the time they tunnelled that person off the hook which is why people bring it and is classed a mete perk.
Both sides have crutch perks that can stack you don't like slowdown and noed killers hate DS+UB when they get a BT unhook near the exit the killer has pretty much no counter play to that but just picking out one side like you did in your first post and not also saying survivors have crutch perk's that can stack was not far for killers.
I did agree survivors have crutch perks as well

nope you said you don't use meta perks a few times in this thread and IW is even more since the nerf to stridor, meta perks are meta perks even if you just use one your using a meta perk.
So, your stuck on the use of one perk, but won't answer whether stacking gen slowdown and noed is overkill?
That seems reasonable to you?
I don't use it every game if that makes my argument somehow more valid.
My fourth perk switches daily.
Seems silly to debate, you consider survivor perks crutch, and not concede the opposite is also true?
-
@ausanimal said:

Hate to call you out "I don't use meta perks and I don't use noed, so what is your point" IW is a meta perk.
IW is not meta, meta. But I get you.
My point wasn't to never use meta, it was stacking slowdown with noed, I mean,c'mon that's a bit of overkill, you don't agree?
-
@ausanimal said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2450531#Comment_2450531
And survivors stacking all those perks are a crutching it even more then killers as some off the combos have little to zero counter play, where as the perks you said all have counters and if you don't like noed that much like people have said do bones there are enough perks now to find them plus maps.
I'll agree to that
-
What rank is this? What rank is the killer? Because if you are running a killer for 4.5 gens, I can't believe you are at the same skill level, and that is why you don't rank up. People shouldn't rank up for playing competition they are much better than.
And if so, it should be an anomaly and not the norm.
-
Yeah, ######### those tome challenges. I do the ones that I can do normally within my gameplay. Other than that, I leave em. More frustration than it is worth.

Yes it really is. 3k hours on PS4 and about 1.2k on PC now the differences are incredibly noticeable.
PS4 blood pools are super easy to follow and scratches seem to be more confined. PC if a survivor runs a small circle inside an LT wall scratches appear EVERYWHERE in the tile so its nearly impossible to know where the survivor went.
Blood pools also match the texture if you play on high/ultra settings of the ground and there are actual spots that look like blood pools that aren't really peppered throughout some map ground textures.
Add to that maps like coldwind (alrdy a headache for killer pov since they can't see above the corn stalks) where the ground texture on ultra has scraps of corn that mimic scratches on high/ultra, if you dont turn on a specific color blind setting there is almost no way to tell them apart.
Breathing (not grunts and moans) are essential to properly moonwalk juke as a decent killer but iron will completely removes that atm.
Thank you. I always hear the talk of grass movement and never hear it, but I play ps4 with ######### headphones.
-
@Lord_Tony said:
the only thing that needs to be "nerfed" with iron will is fixing the breathing bug
Is hearing breathing and grass move, a PC thing, or a headset thing? Because I can't hear either on PS4
-
The penalty is fine. If people are doing this often, they will get longer bans.

Do you use: DH, UB, DS, soul guard or deliverance.
If not, good for you. Your part of the minority that can complain about noed being a "crutch perk" (I think noed is bad for the killer, not survivors. But that's just me) and I feel bad for you that your team doesn't have one person who brings SMALL GAME (my build has always been BT, kindred, small game and one crutch perk (usually DH or DS)) or just don't know where totems spawn (some people do).
If you do, then please stop complaining about crutch perks because you use them too.
Actually I do not. I run solo q, and as such I run Windows, Bond, Kindred, and IW . I don't want to sound like I am shaming anyones build, that is not my intention. I was just saying that slowdown when combined with NOED makes for a long game.

I still wish they'd get rid of the dailies for kills like that. I don't blame killers for just wanting to get it over with, especially if it's a killer they don't like or ever play, but it creates crappy games for survivors.
Yes, I can agree with that. So often the devs are responsible for pitting the different sides against each other with silly challenges
-
I prefer to face end game builds.
The constant gen slowdown gets old, especially in Selfish q where people seem to still be afraid to do gens.
This makes the end a bit more exciting and strategic, while still giving some of the team a chance to get out.
I don't need 4ks and 4 man escapes every game. I just want to play and have both sides get lots of points

So how hard are survivors crutching hard when they run DS,UB, BT and DH and bring in a key with hatch offering would really like to know?
No, I didn't call noed a crutch perk. I said stacking gen slowdown with noed is crutching.
That's a bit different IMO.
Like I said, I don't run meta and I have no trouble facing it.

Okay, ruin, pop, noed can be strong in some cases,
but why would people still complain about BBQ? This is mostly a perk for bloodpoints.
Oh yes, it also shows survivors' auras... so instead of camping the hook, killer can go and work on survivor on the gen... or, yes, camp the hook if the killer did not see auras -- this means the survivors are hiding somewhere withing BBQ range.
As a survivor, I'd rather prefer killer to find me rather than camp/tunnel that guy on the hook (because chase, pickup and hooking wastes killer time, even hook distribution is one of the best strat to survive).
I've seen many times ppl complain about "Oh, BBQ" in the game chat... like why?
I'm not complaining about BBQ, just mentioning that often this is a build I see.

I said, I don't give a ######### about noed, just that if you run both, you crutching hard.
Besides, do bones, is such a cliche answer, any original thoughts to add?

If you run ruin pop and still get use out of NOED most games then to be completely honest you just suck at the game. Having the 2 best tools for slowing down the match and still getting to the end most games is kinda embarassing. Like if its one game every now and again against amazing survivors sure no shame in NOED happening on top of all your slowdown but like if its anywhere close to half the time hell even like a quarter of hte time then I hate to say it but you arent just running into god squads you are just kinda bad to put it bluntly.
I agree 100! That was the point of my post. That is the only time I really get annoyed at noed.
-
I honestly don't give a ######### about No ones even dead yet.
But, for God's sake, pick one. It's that ruin, pop, bbq noed ######### that drives me crazy.
Play slow down or play end game. These stacked, sorry, is a crutch.
-
I enjoyed the last test honestly. I feel I had survivors and killers that played more in tune with my current play style, which is more chilled. Competent, competitive, but not to the point of all out sweats every game.
If it remains like that, I am okay with it. As long as I don't sweat my ass off, and don't get matched with those that do, every game, then I would be happy.
I honestly wonder if its not so much skill based, as style based?
-
Like, who cares?
Earned, it's a perk in the game. There are many of them. I mean what actually is considered , Earned? Devour, maybe, but that is really just playing the game. Other than that, just about every perk is free. Some have a few stipulations to activate, and I guess this is what you may mean by "earned."
But, let's face it, all of these perks are available to anyone, all you have to do is play the game, and pick a build. The only thing earned is the money you put into the game, and perhaps that isn't even earned by you.
-
Killer, BBQ, and Pudding. Triple points everygame, play spirit and you can get close to 100k a game.
-
Or , just drop and chase someone else, keeping an eye out for altruistic plays
-
While I do hate to see us lose any content, I, individually , am happy to not have to play this map.

I was a spirit main from her release I loved her play style. I played her so much I didn't even want to play her for a minute.
I also never used stridor it messed with how close they were to you been so loud.
Thats kind of the point of a top tier they should be problematic and change the way you have to play against them. Is she perfect not I like the idea of getting a notification of some kind when she phases. I have been counter played as the spirit plenty of times but not been able to hear footsteps on any indoor map or somewhere where there is grass makes it a complete guessing game where the survivors are at
Yes, you are correct. But she is one of the few killers that can still compete with even this.
I think you should allow her to see scratch marks when phasing and give some kind of notification when she phases.
But there should be strong killers in the game. Not every power should be equal. Trapper inherently is weaker than spirit. Idk why people have a problem accepting this.
