Probably not. There’s so much content in the game now that BHVR don’t have the resources to update older content anymore.
-
Lots of people have asked for this, but zero chance it will happen. BHVR has made it very clear that they don’t care about the problems caused by high ping players. Limiting pings would reduce the number of players - definitely not gonna happen. Showing pings would mean high ping killers would basically never get to play, which honestly I believe is a fair outcome because they are ruining games for everyone else.

By "clear counterplay" you mean "just don't be found" and "guess better"?
Guessing what the killer is going to do is the literal definition of counterplay.

sounds like a killer main, didn’t you hear they removed a ton of pallets from the map? Also high mobility killers/anti loop killers yeah okay, another rage baiter lol - good day keyboard warrior
The pallet changes got fixed. There are a few indoor maps that still have missing pallet bug, but all the other maps are fine now.
-
I agree with you, but it’s never going to happen. BHVR will never do anything to reduce the number of players in the game, even it is means a worse experience for players who have a reasonable ping and would otherwise be able to enjoy fair matches.
-
I’m still not seeing you point out anywhere I said that I don’t enjoy solo queue or have a difficult time with it. That post you showed was specifically about the horrible matchmaking and getting paired with brand new teammates even after consistently performing well and escaping.
I fully agree with you that everyone should be able to freely express their opinions about the game and also fully agree with you that everyone’s experience is different. But everyone should also be free and open to express disagreement with others’ opinions about the game in a civil way. You said yourself that people shouldn’t be toxic to each other here, which I whole-heartedly agree with. So, in the spirit of that, maybe think about the things you are saying to people, calling them “killer mains” in derogatory way, accusing killer players in general of making the game worse, etc. That kind of stuff is, at least in my opinion, the very kind of “us vs them” stuff that often makes this forum a toxic place. -

It was me, however I can still change my mind, and play again. No harm in that. Not replying to you, when you yourself say you have such a hard time in solo queue , from your posts
There’s certainly nothing wrong with changing your mind. I was just wondering why you are back here complaining about the game again when you had previous said you were done. I have a hard time understanding why people who have such a miserable time in the game continue to play it.
I have fun in most of my solo queue matches, and I’ve consistently said that in my time here on the forum. Where have I said that I have “such a hard time” in solo queue? This is twice now you’ve accused me of saying something that I never said.

love the rage bait dude, I think it’s against forum to try to pressure people to quit playing. Will be reported 😘
also, no I just had this happen to me now. I don’t dc, I abandon when the option is there in an unwinnable match. I just got tunneled by a wraith and was told I would receive a downgrade for trying to get myself killed. That wasn’t the case at all, I was just tunneled hard, as with every single game I play. How was I “pressuring people to quit?” This wasn’t you?
-
Didn’t you make a post like a month ago explaining why you were leaving the game? Back already?
I thought the “getting a penalty for getting tunneled out too early” thing was disabled. I’ve literally never had it happen to me and I’ve definitely had a few matches with very early exits.

And lobby dodging just makes it even worse, because then the game will throw in new players to fill the lobby that you left.
That’s only because the matchmaking system gives up after like 10 seconds of waiting. I think most people would be completely fine waiting a little longer to find a teammate of similar skill level. I know I certainly would. If someone leaves my lobby and a brand new player comes in as the backfill, I’m just going to leave myself. I’d rather wait a minute or two to find a similar skill level player than go find another lobby.
-
Too much content in the game for the devs to keep up with, and it only gets worse with every new chapter. Most of the older killers will probably never get touched again because BHVR simply don’t have the resources to work on them.
-
So many things that BHVR has said they’re going to work on in their roadmaps have either been delayed or abandoned, I just don’t even pay attention to them anymore. Matchmaking/skill measurement has been broken for years now, so it’s clearly not a priority for BHVR to work on.

I've seen a uptick of this behaviour again, and it's really annoying me.
What happens is that people queue up, ready up, and then as soon as the timer hits zero and we're about to go into the offering screen, someone dips and leaves everyone behind in the lobby. This is a massive waste of everyone's time since now we have to wait for a new player to fill the gap and sit through that whole process again.
I think it's time to implement a system that considers doing this as a disconnect and should apply the appropriate penalties. That will surely discourge people from doing this going forward.
Thoughts?Lobby dodging is a necessary evil because the matchmaking has been non-functional for years. As soon as I stop getting paired with literal brand new players on a regular basis, I will support penalties for lobby dodging. Also, half the anon mode teammates I get matched with DC the first time they get downed. If I have no way of avoiding these types of matches, I simply won’t play the game anymore.

Only if they fix their gameplay. Lets be honest, playing survivor is as painful as stepping on Lego right now.
I have fun playing survivor. What do you mean “fix their gameplay?” That’s extremely vague feedback. Everyone has their own definition of “fun” in the game. There are some whose definition of fun is unreasonable - those are the ones who get upset over the slightest thing going wrong in the game and are the chronic disconnectors. And it’s not due to a problem on BHVR’s side.

But punishing people for bhvr’s bugs isn’t right.
The game crashing constantly is not due to BHVR’s. If that was true, there would be a huge number of people here complaining about crashes. It is an issue with your friend’s hardware.

DCing from a match should have a harsher punishment to stop the rampant dcs. I don’t know how many games where I down a person at the start of the match only to have them DC, which causes a chain reaction of more dcs from the other survivors after losing a teammate.
The entitlement is beyond game ruining. The fact that you have so many downvotes explains exactly why there is such a DC epidemic. A large percentage of the players here think you should be able to DC and ruin other people’s matches for any reason

Yeah it’s game over as soon as the map loads if you’re playing survivor. BHVR seem to be in no rush to fix it.

Yeah, this is the problem. I’ve submitted many reports for cheating and chat abuse I can remember only two of them ever getting responses.
-
Never going to happen. All it would do is reveal how non-functional the matchmaking system is, and BHVR doesn’t want another major controversy to deal with.
-
What I learned a long time ago is that if it doesn’t increase revenue or prevent a large number of players from leaving the game, BHVR simply isn’t going to do it. And honestly I don’t blame them because that is the approach any for-profit business should take. Unfortunately for anyone dealing with cheaters on a regular basis, you’re not a big enough issue for BHVR to prioritize. Apparently the problem will need to get a lot worse before large numbers of players start leaving the game because of it.
-
I haven’t noticed too much different lately in terms of difficulty on the killer side. Maybe a few more subtle cheaters than in the past, but other than that, nothing significantly different.

I think one of the original team members from BHVR talked about this a while ago.
If I remember correctly, perk tiers can't be removed because they're apart of the foundational code that keeps DBD together.
Well they can be removed, it would just require a lot of time & effort.
Probably like, Dead by Daylight 2 levels of effort.
Now that is some seriously spaghetti’d spaghetti code if they can’t even make that change.

Ranked would probably bring quite a few people back to the game. I know a few people who quit specifically cause of how stale the game is and the lack of incentives. Bloodpoints are nothing. They barely give any iri-shards and they give absolutely 0 auric cells.
There are no skill-based challenges to chase that give valuable rewards nor are there any goals to chase like 'hit a certain rank and you obtain xyz reward'.
Yea there would definitely be problems with splitting the player base and que times, but I do believe it can't be any worse than what we've been going through for the last 9+ years.
I welcome them trying this, honestly. I don't want them sticking to the same game mode for another 5+ years.
I agree it’s worth a try to see how it goes. Worst case, most people hate it and they can scrap it. Best case, it would make the experience more chill for casual players and more competitive for those who want a challenge.
-
It sounds like you probably just need some more experience on both sides. This is an extremely frustrating game for new players.

@Verdoomed said:
the game is way off and far from being balanced. The killer side always has the advantage mean while survivors do good to get one generator done. Im only saying this because I play both sides and it don’t take much to see the difference between the two
On average killers have 60% kill rate and survivors 40% escape rate. This is what the devs have said they are targeting for balance. I play both sides about equally and this balance feels fine to me, but everyone is going to have a different opinion on this, especially people who only play one side.
Your comment “survivors do good to get one generator done” is just not based on reality at all. If you really do play both sides, are you literally never escaping in your survivor matches, and on the flip side, are you literally getting 4K in every match as killer? Those things would have to be true for your comment to have any merit. -
I remember seeing a while ago that the target kill rate is 60%. Ideally that would apply to all killers, but clearly everyone knows that there is a wide range of killer strength from F tier to S tier.
Unfortunately, BHVR almost never release data about escape rates or kill rates, so we really have no idea what recent average kill rates are. The only thing you can do is dig up some older data that they have released in the past. -
@GhostsCore said:
Use it as practice for looping! Instead of seeing it as "the killer wouldn't leave me alone" instead see it as a rapid fire way to get better in chases.
If you want to counter it in the immediate: Use perks that help. DS and any other endurance/anti tunnel perks help. If you suspect a Survivor is being tunneled let them stay on the hook as long as possible as that's extra time you're buying. Take protection hits when possible and do gens
Fully agree. This is my approach as well. I find it very rewarding to take a killer on a multiple gen chase. I see is as an opportunity to get better, not an opportunity to complain that tunneling or killers in general need to be nerfed.
The problem is that even if you are great in chases you still get punished if you if you aren’t lucky enough to escape. The fact that being great at looping doesn’t increase your MMR even if you don’t escape is BHVR’s biggest failure with this game, IMO. Imagine how much better survivor player satisfaction would be if survivors were actually rewarded for playing well even if they get tunneled out. -

Seems pretty hypocritical since devs don't wanna let Killers wants to abandon at endgame but it's fine if your the last survivor alive and still have a chance for hatch and doors.
I was thinking the exact same thing. Gates are open? “The match is over anyway, so why not move on?” Lots of people here are fine if the killer has to either stare at a wall for a few minutes or go force people out while they get teabagged relentlessly, and then they downvote you if you point out the hypocrisy.

A lot of players purchased the last Stranger Things DLC, and every DLC purchase is a vote cast in the "the game is fine" box. So far, you complainers are outnumbered by the happy and content playerbase who doesn't have any problem with cheaters and happily invests in the game further, therefore this issue will not be looked into at least until the next DLC, when the new electoral cycle will happen.
This 100%. BHVR sees the player count at historic highs and revenue continuing to roll in for DLC and skins. Why would they do anything differently? BHVR would have to spend way more on investing in anti-cheat than the amount of revenue they lose from the few people that stop playing because of cheating. Everyone complaining about cheating has the power to help change this.

@exDbd said:
Lately, the gameplay experience in Dead by Daylight has felt increasingly strained, even when playing in a coordinated Survive With Friends (SWF) group. There seems to be a growing trend—partially influenced by high-profile content creators—where "hard tunneling" from the very start of the match is viewed as the only viable strategy for a win.
Furthermore, the prevalence of aura-reading perks has significantly shifted the balance. While counters like Distortion have seen recent adjustments, many feel the sheer volume of information available to Killers has made stealth nearly impossible. This often leads to a cycle where "low-effort" pressure strategies dominate, leaving Survivors with fewer meaningful ways to counterplay.I’d like to open a discussion on a few points:
•Survivor Counter-Play: Aside from standard anti-tunneling perks like Off the Record or Decisive Strike, what advanced strategies or builds are you finding effective against heavy aura-reading and early-game tunneling?
•Game Health: How can the developers better incentivize diverse playstyles so that tunneling isn't the "default" for Killers seeking a competitive edge?
•Sharing Feedback: For those who want to see mechanical changes, what is the best way to provide constructive feedback without it being flagged or removed? Many have recommended the Official BHVR Forums or the Player Satisfaction Surveys as the most effective channels.
I’m curious to hear how others are adapting to this meta and what specific changes you believe would restore a healthier balance to the trial.
Maybe not quite what you’re looking for here, but one thing that would at least in my opinion would go a long way to make people feel better about being tunneled is to overhaul the scoring/ranking system so that you rank up and get paired with better teammates not based on escapes but based on your time in chases and winning chases. The most frustrating thing in the game is to loop a killer for minutes multiple times and then die anyway because killer tunneled you and you were their only kill and/or because teammates didn’t do gens while you were getting chased. I would not mind dying at all if I knew that I was still going to be rewarded for playing well. The fact that BHVR is still defending the “escapes equals skill” system is mind-boggling to me.
-
Thinking about the whole roster, it’s easier for me to list the killers I don’t like playing against. Top “don’t likes” include Ghoul, Krasue, Singularity, Cenobite (awful in solo queue). Add Legion here if I’m playing with solo queue teammates that are constantly healing against them and refuse to play injured.
All the other killers range from “I don’t mind” to “super fun”. Bubba is probably my most favorite to go against. I’m not a great survivor but I always do really well against him (probably because he has no real chase power LOL).

I’m not trying to play “gotcha”. Just simply asking if you’ve actually played him. I have a lot of respect for people like you who can actually back up their opinions with experience, even if we disagree. You’re literally the only one I’ve seen do this. I appreciate you sharing this!

Dracula, Kaneki, Krasue, and now Vecna. Why is every new killer release designed so a toddler can pick the killer up and win 90% of their games? Vecna just follows the same ridiculously spammable, easy to hit power pattern that originated with krasue. Everyone told the devs how bad Krasue’s design is but they go ahead and release Krasue 2.
Why can’t we get more Springtraps? One of the most universally loved and non problematic killer releases.
Ok - so you have won 90% of your games with the new killer? Can you post your recent stats?

This is what happens with every killer. The fact we see "Nerf Newly Released Killer" within the first hour of release, the vocal survivors simply do not want to actually learn how to play against new killers and just want easy wins.
100% this. There have certainly been problematic killers released recently (Ghoul, Krasue) and the outcry over them was justified, but every objective opinion I have seen from content creators who actually play both sides is that the First is well designed and reasonably strong but also very interactive and plenty of opportunity for counterplay on the survivor side. We’re just seeing the usual hysterics from a few very loud people who want every killer nerfed no matter how strong or weak they are and no matter how much it negatively affects the experience of people who actually play those killers.

I strongly disagree. I rarely win with him. His vines are pretty hard for me to hit personally even when I have aura. Sometimes I am too close when aiming and sometimes its just too far away. If they take away his "spam" then instead of his power hurting you after 3 or 4 hits it will need to hit you on each hit…Do you want that?
Notice that nobody downvoting you or claiming that he takes zero skill to play will provide any evidence that they’ve tried playing him themselves. It’s just the same “us vs them” stuff here all the time going in circles with people refuse to consider the perspective of the other side.

What’s the point of the clocks if he gets the red world instantly after 2 hits with his power? What’s the point of having stacks if they never could go away? Why is he able to just spam his power repeatedly? That’s no excuse because he’s 4.4 I rather face him when he’s 4.6 but no power spam. Make it so if he’s spamming his power he loses the red world faster.
How do you know he takes zero skill to play? Have you tried playing him yet?

Either you are not running unpredictably or I'm a bad shot. Both ways has skill involved so the premise on this thread is suspect.
Don’t bother arguing. This is the same person who was on the forum over the holidays making a bunch of posts to insult and troll killer players and then got banned once the mods came back from vacation. They’re apparently back and doing it again - of course they picked the weekend to do it. i see you havent even read what i wrote below, people are already on over 100 winstreak on this(BALANCED KILLER), i dont need to prove myself to a nobody and try to escalate arguments and create drama, im here to state my mind, like it or not, ur free to disagree, so if i do 50winstreak for example, u will agree with everything i say? clearly not right, but others did even way higher winstreaks than that, so u get the point? the problem isnt just the killer, is the fact that maps are small, gens are very close to each other, the killer can attack from long range, have stealth, very suited for strong totem builds, places him into S tier territory with certain builds, me personally i can loop the new vecna, but do u realize how sweaty i am? and even then its like sometimes i get random hit because of pure sheer luck of a killer or bad dsync hit outside the circle, and listen, u can disagree thats totally fine, but u will see he will get nerfed, there is no way hes staying this strong for long, the survivor experience against this killer is miserable and unfun, the people ive played with dont have much fun against him either, but if u have fun then good for u buddy, and i havent lied that killer is ez mode, go watch xeno getting 41perkless winstreak, yea xeno is a top player, but perkless bro, all i can say is that if u had full meta builds on killers, then killers is ez mode as long as u are half decent or more at killer, even Zubat place all killers in pubs as S tier, go watch his tierlist, go get some proper info if u cannot believe me.
I’m pointing out that you are drawing your conclusions about killer being “ez mode” by watching a few cherry-picked YouTube videos and not your actual experience. Other people here do this too and it’s a big reason for the “us vs them” problem and why we can’t have good-faith debates about balance based on facts or real-life experience.

Hens is currently over 120 winstreak on him, tru3 was on 45 so far with some medicore build, i see a lot of people now easily get high winstreaks on this killer easily, i dont even bother playing killer because its such ez mode boring experience since the pallet sizes got gutted, im over 12k comping dbd, this killer is ultra busted and u get hit even outside the circle when the killer have a bad ping or vpn, even if u fixed matchmaking this killer will still overperform, there is a lot of RNG involved and maps are so bad like let me show u what truly awful 3gen looks like,

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/QI55QQ51TWGU/222.jpg
if it was a vecna for example he could sit on the gen closer to mid and put pressure on main and eleven and its a free win, most killers would have it easy with such bs 3gen(especially if they had fearmonger to counter springburst players). ive seen it all by now, fix ur game and maps, or fix ur killers, or both, dsync issues, and more.
Bro, he’s fine. He’s been out for less than a week and I’ve seen plenty of survivors do just fine against him. And just stop with the “killer is ez mode anybody can win every match easily” stuff. Nobody believes that, but please feel free to post your stats or some of your gameplay to prove me wrong.

you all have made more and more aura perks every single killer I have faced is using full aura builds but distortion was such a problem. Then you go make a useless survivor perk for aura readers, but yet doesn’t negate the aura at all like distortion, you knew we were tired of aura and what do you do? Oh we will make even more aura perks. Survivor role is so stressful nowadays, you have to do everything right or the whole match is down the toilet. I’m sorry but I’m not a streamer nor am I in the comp teams. I play to have fun. Survivor role is not fun. At all. I’m not even a killer main and it’s like you all want killers to not even have skill anymore. I can go in and easily get 4ks and I don’t even play the killer role like that. I do dabble in it but like I said it’s so easy as a killer. The game is so toxic. Please buff distortion and nerf the first! Like what the heck!!!
I do miss old Distortion. I hate that BHVR basically decided that all survivors must play a certain playstyle and stealth isn’t allowed anymore. The hide-and-seek aspect of the game is what made me love the game in the first place and then BHVR decided to nuke it for whatever reason. The biggest problem with Distortion was rat players, but BHVR decided to take the easy way out and punish everyone instead of actually coming up with an MMR system that makes sense. If you’re ratting, your MMR score should reflect the fact that you do nothing but hide in matches and punish you with worse and worse teammates in your next matches. Instead, MMR rewards rat players who end up escaping. Fixing the MMR scoring system is the solution but for years now BHVR has refused to do this.

Respectfully, they are not the issue. The issue is that, instead of teaching players how to play their overwhelming game, BHVR gives buffs to the Survivor role that won't make any difference if, as mentioned, players aren't taught how to play the game.
Agree 100%. As killer I’ve gone against a ton of survivor who had no problem whatsoever dealing with my attempts to tunnel or slug when I was falling behind in the game. I’ve dealt with it plenty of times on the survivor side as well where either I or my teammates were being tunneled and we either lost only one survivor or everyone got out because the person who was being tunneled didn’t go down immediately in every chase and the others were doing gens like they are supposed to.

He's already slow and you have to be perfect to hit survivors who run for distance. Cooldowns are the lamest most boring "fix" you can do. Id be down to requiring 3 hits of vine or 1 hit of undergate or whatever its called. Which is already time consuming as it is.
Not surprised to see so many downvotes. This is very typical here on the forum - a lot of players whose first reaction to anything difficult in the game is “it’s not a problem with my own gameplay or inability to learn something new. Other side OP and bad”. They don’t play that killer to understand how nerfs will impact you - and honestly they don’t care. Most won’t even respond with a comment to explain why they disagree with your opinion. Just the typical anonymous downvote bomb lobbing.
