    Put legion back.

    Give us both Vecnas.

Remove button activated sprint burst. Do not put crystals back into the game that remove hook stages. Maybe make new class for killers as well.

There are far fewer complaints about 2v8 mode now that Legion have been removed. For myself personally, I am enjoying 2v8 far more on the survivor side with no Legion. I realize that some people enjoy Legion but BHVR can’t make everyone happy and there are far more people who hate Legion.

    • Remove Unlockable Skills, because it incentivises tunnelling
    • Rework Green Tonic effect for survivor
    • Rework the override mechanic when nemesis and wesker are together = currently the antitodes make both killers worse
    • Rework brute and buff fearmongers team skill. Again. They have made them so weak.
    • Add Springtrap and Ghoul

    Downvoted for “add Ghoul”

  • Threads like this prove that the DC penalty needs to be more harsh

  • I think this version of 2v8 has been pretty darn good. I’ve been having a lot of fun on both sides. Not having Legion has been SO nice on the survivor side. Really the only thing that has been frustrating is bad teammates. 2v8 brings in a lot of players who can’t last more than 5 seconds in chase and/or refuse to touch gens.

  • If you want BHVR to actually do anything about it, stop spending money on the game. That’s the only thing that will force action.

  • I just encountered my first obvious cheater in 2v8. I downed a survivor and she immediately teleported to a different part of the map in the injured state. She was one of the first players eliminated too. If you’re going to blatantly cheat, at least do a better job of staying alive and escaping! I reported but I’m guessing as usual my report will be launched into space and forgotten about.

It really is pathetic that we can’t even have basic checks in the game to detect auto-ban players that are doing stuff like this that shouldn’t be possible. I guess it’s not a big enough problem yet for BHVR to take seriously.

Well, the thing is no one else cares. You're.. like the only one. If they are lying… are you still this upset? I just don't see why you're ready to burn it all down.

But I wish you luck in your crusade!

All I did was tell the OP that it was difficult to believe that they ran a killer for 8 gens in 2v8. Apparently this is wanting to “burn it all down”? What am I asking to “burn down” here? I don’t even know what you’re talking about now.

  • It’s out of control because there are no consequences for post-game chat abuse. I’ve reported people many times for the most vile things imaginable (death threats, wishing terrible diseases/death on family, etc) and not a single one has gotten a response from BHVR. I don’t even know why they have a reporting system because it clearly doesn’t do anything.

  • I’m a pretty casual player (maybe 10 or so hours per week at the most) and haven’t had any trouble in 2v8 on the killer side (I play solo not with a friend). Not a lot of data points yet (it doesn’t include the few matches I played yesterday yet), but it’s definitely possible to do well as killer. I have been playing Wraith and focusing on patrolling gens and keeping survivors injured. Survivors will often stay near gens that have a lot of progress rather than pivoting to other gens and most don’t like to stay injured and will waste time finding someone for healing, so I use that to my advantage. You definitely need at least one killer with good mobility (like Wraith) to apply pressure to in-progress gens in 2v8 mode.

Why is it difficult for you to believe this? Is it impossible? Really strange hill to die on, but you do you. I've had a few friends do this exact thing. Please, tell me I am a liar.

It’s difficult to believe because it’s super easy to come here and claim this type of thing, provide zero evidence, and then never respond when challenged. This is exactly what happens every single time. I’ll happily admit I’m wrong if someone wants to prove me wrong.

If you're going to have us spawn on top of the killers at least spawn me in Wesker's arms, please and thank you xD

Okay jokes aside, during this itteration of 2v8 every single time my friends and I play we spawn right next to the killers. Genuinely 9/10 times this has happened and it is the same on different servers. I know with 8 survivors it is tough to spread them out well, but this wasn't an issue at all in the last 2v8s.

What's going on? Did the devs change the spawns? 🧐

It’s hard to believe that someone is spawning “right next to the killer” in “9/10 games” when I’ve literally never seen that happen on either killer or survivor side in 2v8. Can you share a video of one of your games to show what you’re taking about? If it’s happening this frequently, shouldn’t take too long for you to provide an example. I’m not trying to discredit you, just very skeptical since I’ve never experienced this in any of my 2v8 games.

  • Not until the matchmaking system gets fixed and I stop getting paired with literal brand new players with less than 50 hours in every other solo queue lobby.

yes? maybe you are just bad at looping/chase so it seems impossible to you but i can do it

Why don’t you share some video then? I’ve never seen anyone do it, so looping a killer for 8 gens would probably get a ton of hits on YouTube.

  • You got chased non-stop by one of the killers for the entire 2v8 match? LOL ok

  • Was your friend playing survivor while waiting for a killer game?

  • I still haven’t seen an obvious cheater in 2v8 yet 🤷‍♂️

  • I’ll explain my downvote because most people never do.

The flaw with your logic is that you’re trying to argue about the strength of Legion without considering that there’s another killer in 2v8 mode. Yes, Legion on their own has counter play, but you’re ignoring the fact that there another killer to deal with. Legion can get a ton of free hits very quickly with no skill whatsoever, keep people injured, and then other killer mops up.

I usually defend the killer side more than most on this forum, but having a killer that could injure so many survivors so quickly making it super easy for the other teammate to get quick downs was incredibly busted and unfun for the survivor side.

I will also say that Legion in 1v4 mode are also super unfun. Not that they are strong, but just super annoying. Legion matches are almost always long, boring mending simulators that are not enjoyable at all even if I’m winning as survivor.

  • On-demand sprint burst is pretty amazing

  • If you’re not having fun as killer, I’ll gladly take your spot in line. The queue times for killer are still ridiculously long, so apparently plenty of other people are enjoying playing killer side.

  • I play both sides about equally and I’m totally fine with survivors having it easier in 2v8 mode. We need something to incentivize more people to want to play survivor because the killer queue times are still insanely long. Apparently there are more than enough people who are happily willing to wait in long lines to play killer so it can’t be that bad. The handful of killer matches I’ve played myself as Wraith have been fine - at least 4K in each and a couple 8K.

  • Right now they are boosting the most hated maps in the game (many of the indoor ones) for unknown reasons. I stopped playing for a while because I got so sick of it, but at least I have 2v8 to jump into now to get away from the horrible map rotation in 1v4.

  • I agree he needs to be toned down a bit. It seems like he is always in his power and can curve around just about any obstacle. He is really obnoxious to face in 2v8. A little longer power cooldown and a little bit less forgiving turn radius and I think he’d be fine.

  • No - I haven’t seen a single one in 2v8 yet

  • I fully agree that this is a big problem, but BHVR have made it clear they aren’t going to do anything about it. They would lose a lot of players if they enforced ping limits and they aren’t losing that many players by keeping the status quo. So it’s a very easy business decision for them to ignore this problem.

  • I have the same experience with submitting many reports for extremely vile things, death wishes, threats of harm, racial slurs, etc. Not a single report ever received a response. I can only conclude that BHVR doesn’t take this kind of stuff seriously and they won’t ban people for anything said in chat no matter how vile. If my conclusion is incorrect, it would be great if someone from BHVR could clarify 1) is post-game chat abuse bannable, and 2) if so, why are they not banning players for this kind of stuff?

  • The fact that something so vile like this gets upvotes tells you all you need to know about why there is so much toxicity in the community. Wishing people to go to hell because of the way they play a video game? Maybe you’re the one taking things way too seriously here.

  • @100PercentBPMain said:

people aren't gonna upload videos where they get destroyed.

Yeah, exactly this. You’re not seeing all the matches where they struggle against good survivor teams.

  • I’ve played about 15 or so survivor matches in 2v8 and maybe 5 killer matches and only saw 1 or 2 survivors DC. It actually seems much lower DC rate than 1v4 mode.

I will speak from my personal experience here, I've played many matches the last few days, and not found anything remotely wrong with the pallets (only Midwich spawns) and same on many streams I watch. It's not about Devs being on Live, it's just that none of us have experienced this at all, which is why we've asked for logs if you do experience it in your game.

This is very interesting - thanks! Very weird that some people are seeing this regularly, and some people are seeing it rarely or not at all.

  • @ThatRyanB said:

Hey folks! We looked into this today and there were no changes made to pallet density with this update.

If any of you are personally seeing more pallets in your matches, then we definitely want to look into that as a bug. Most importantly, we'd need your game logs and - if possible - video footage to investigate. SO! If you're seeing more pallets than normal, please submit a report to BetaHub, here:

    https://app.betahub.io/projects/pr-5642738318

Thanks a ton for your help!

This is not meant as a direct criticism but rather a question about how the devs do QA testing. Can the devs not play matches on public servers to check this for themselves? If people on the forum and content creators are seeing maps with way too many pallets, surely the devs can go into public matches to check for themselves, right? I’m just confused why the onus is on the players to submit game logs and video evidence when it seems like the devs could very quickly and easily check themselves in public matches.

Here, let me write a long-winded essay on a thread that will fall off the front page within a week about all of the problems with the game we're all very aware of stemming back to 2016, only to get into a circular argument with people who already have their minds made up just to have the devs ignore all of it anyway. 🤩

You don’t need to write an essay. Just a few bullet points about what you perceive as the main issues is way more helpful than “just don’t play the game”.

This thread is a great example. Someone pointing out a specific issue with too many pallets spawning on a lot of the maps and demonstrating how it’s a significant issue for killer players. The general “the game is unbalanced/terrible” or “just don’t play the game” type comments aren’t really constructive at all.

  • I play both sides about equally and I am probably one of the more “killer-sided” voices here. Honestly I am fine with continued killer nerfs/survivor buffs in 2v8 until the killer queue times get a bit more reasonable. Still at least 20 minutes every time I’ve tried to queue up. Clearly there are still a huge number of people (too many) who are plenty happy playing killer even with the supposed difficulties in this current 2v8 version. Also, let’s keep in mind that there are a ton of new and/or downright bad survivor players in 2v8. It’s not like killers are going up against full squads of great loopers.

  • @UnicornMedal said:

Avoid the game entirely at this point, to be honest.

Ok, don’t play then. I’ve been having fun, especially in 2v8. What specifically needs to be fixed for you to want to play?

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

This is a bug that surfaces about 3 times a year for some reason. There's something in the spaghetti code that just always spawns every possible pallet after a patch until they can hotfix it shortly after.

It's not intended, and it's not going to be permanent either.

You’re right that it won’t be permanent, but BHVR never seems to be in a hurry to fix any bugs, even significant ones like this. It wouldn’t be a big deal if BHVR could fix these issues immediately rather than the multiple weeks or longer that it often takes.

Since Chucky can now do a 180 in the middle of Slice & Dice, he is basically a combination of Blight and Legion w/o any of their negatives. Sorry, but this was a stupid change.

I’ve gone against a couple Chuckys in 2v8 so far. Either they were just bad at the game or Chucky is very weak in 2v8. Either way, I didn’t have any problem with him.

  • @Slurp_Ramen said:

This marks the second 2v8 with no legion, just wondering if there’s any concrete plans or ideas to bring him back yet?

Or maybe a time frame. I think they should return at some point this year, any longer than that is a bit crazy because we’re still only working with about a 1/3 of the roster at this point.

Hopefully never. 2v8 is far more enjoyable without them.

  • It’s mostly from people who have never actually tried playing as Blight and maybe don’t even play killer at all. They just assume based on some selected YouTube videos that Blight is super easy to play as, even though they themselves have never tried.

  • Yep - BP incentives have been broken for well over a year now. It’s clear by now that BHVR has no interest in fixing them.

Guys this is very hard for me to do but I must apologise. Its been brought to my attention that my behaviour in game has been just ruining peoples games and enough is enough I need to come clean.

To the survivor who run at me with their base kit BT body blocking me in a corner. I am so sorry you were tunnelled. you clearly didn't deserve that. Just because you were on death hook, injured and body blocked me in a corner i had no right to down and hook you again.

To the swf with 4 flashlights and head on build. I deeply apologise for slugging when i had visual on you all. After our post game chat I understand now that I should be instantly picking up and let you have a chance at a save each and every time.

And Finally. To the team I beat a few nights ago. I'm not 100% sure what I did wrong as I 12 hooked the game and never hooked someone who had been unhooked, I insta picked up, I wasn't running meta build however clearly the fact I'm playing The First is enough. So i am truly sorry for playing the new content in the game. I realise now that this content is not for killers to play this is only for survivors and I didn't understand that when I purchased it.

If anyone can help me out and forward me the official handbook killers must follow to ensure that everyone is having a fun and enjoyable game I would much appreciate and once again I am truly sorry for the obvious pain and suffering I have caused while playing this game.

**FYI this is a joke…I'm never sorry for the way I play this game 😎

What is the purpose of this post other than to stir up “us vs them” toxicity?

  • I agree that the MMR system (at least on the survivor side) needs to encourage playing as well as you can, even in doomed matches when your teammates are terrible and/or not doing anything. The incentive would be to be matched with better teammates in future matches (although it would mean better killer opponents as well, which is a tradeoff I will gladly take for competent teammates). Imagine how much better the game would feel in the survivor side if you were actually rewarded for how well you play even if you don’t escape!

  • I don’t know if BHVR has ever stated this explicitly, but they could be boosting these maps to collect more data on them for future updates. It sure would be nice if they could at least tell us if this is the case, and when we can expect this miserable experience to be over. Right now it’s complete radio silence from them as usual. The boosted maps make the game incredibly unfun right now. I haven’t even touched the game in over a week, that’s how sick of these maps I am.

You're saying "increase MMR" as though it's a blessing. Higher MMR means harder opponenents. I'm not personally out here looking to raise my MMR beyond what I can handle as a "reward." Give people potential in-game comeback mechanics, give them BP or shard increases, but MMR increases are not a reward.

Same with MMR reduction. You want to tank people until they get to baby levels? That also means worse opponenets and easier matches. Go play on a fresh account and tell me that's a punishment. It's only a punishment for your opponents.

Also, the game trying to auto-disngtiush genuinely bad playing from intentionally bad playing would be impossible without tons of false positives. People already complain about getting penalties for being tunneled too fast. Do we just want everyone to quit the game because of more unfair punishments?

When I play survivor, I’d rather have harder opponents if it also means better teammates, 100%. Going against bad killers is still miserable when teammates don’t know how to play or give up immediately the first time they get downed. This is all about the incentive to try to play well so you’ll be paired with better teammates in the next match.

I don’t buy the “false positives” arguments. Good survivors that can take killers on long chases will still get scored better for playing well even if they get eliminated early. That’s the whole point of the system I’m proposing. Getting tunneled out early wouldn’t be nearly as discouraging if you still get rewarded for playing well.

  • @cogsturning said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4054759#Comment_4054759

There was a several-day period, maybe 8 months ago, where there were no DC penalties. It was well known. I saw no uptick in DCs. "Every survivor" isn't a fair statement. I've never once DCed as survivor. It's either the sort of thing you'll do or not, regardless of penalty.

As it is now, you can just AFK under hook or run up to the killer to die, which is much worse for the match than having a bot. I'd rather have a bot that will do gens, heal, and unhook than someone who will suicide out or go rat in a corner. How are those things good for the game?

Neither are good for the game. Both DCs and intentionally tanking in matches should be punished. I am not advocating for either of these things, but you are advocating for the former.

DCs should be punished with matchmaking bans like they already are (they should be even worse, IMO), and intentionally tanking in the game should be punished by giving you a big penalty to MMR so you get paired with worse and worse teammates the more you tank. This is why the MMR system so desperately needs to be changed. Incentivize people to stay in doomed matches by increasing MMR for playing well (eg survivors taking killers on long chases, killers getting more hits and hooks even if all survivors escape, etc).

  • @cogsturning said:

ThIs is why I'd rather people be able to freely DC. I'd rather have a bot than a detriment.

If people were able to freely DC, it would literally happen every match. I almost want BHVR to trial this for like 2 weeks so all the pro-DCers can see how miserable it will be. Killers would DC any match they aren’t dominating in, and every survivor would DC the instant they get downed the first time. I can’t even begin to understand why some people here think this would be a good thing for the game.

  • Lots of stuff has been on the roadmaps that never got worked on 😉

  • @OrangeBear said:

Since late 2021, yes. There's factors to it though and also a rework to mmr is in development.

In practise it does not feel dynamic at all though. If you lose a lot on either side you are not suddenly gonna get an easier match. It often feels like though winning a small amount increases the difficulty greatly. So it's probably designed to not be abusable but it's also just wildy inaccurate anyway.

Where did BHVR say that a rework to MMR was in development? I haven’t seen any sort of announcement that they are actively working on this, which is why I’ve long since given up hope that matchmaking and the scoring system for how “skill” is determined will ever be fixed.

It's wild to think that they're concerned with "higher ping players never being able to play" and not "how do we make it more enjoyable for our survivor players"

I believe that BHVR’s rationale is that they would lose more players by enforcing ping limits or allowing people to see pings in lobby than they would be allowing the problem to continue. And they are probably rights. Relatively few people are leaving the game because of this problem. So, if we really want this to change, everyone who has a problem with high ping killers simply needs to stop playing altogether.
