  • With the number of killers I've come across who are running NOED, I wouldn't count on people not cleansing totems.....I cleanse every one I see now.

  • Legion is a hit or miss killer. You can run the same build in every match and have a 4k one match and a quad escape the next. If you have a group of survivors who insist on sticking together everywhere they go, legion is very effective and a great time waster.

My only issue with hag is unlike trapper, you have no way to disarm (or realistically, even just see) the traps she sets.

The only thing you can do is sprint by to trigger them all and hope either she chases after you to let someone else unhook or she kills a bunch of time resetting her traps, letting everyone else do gens.

You've never played against a Hag on The Game or Hawkins maps then....her traps are clear as day on the concrete floor.

  • You might want to check your monitor. I've played several matches on that map as Freddy and could see them moving at the other end of the street.

  • I miss the old rank reset....

  • I dont think I've ever typed that much in post game chat! I laughed my ass off reading it.

To me, this is just a sign that the devs are releasing killers that are in a more balanced position. He's just been released and I can't see a single whiny "NERF DEATHSLINGER" thread yet.

He does also seem like a boom or bust type of character. If you can hit shots, then you're going to go a long way, just like Huntress. If not, then you're attached to another object by an inclined plane wrapped helicly around an axis.

Haha...that was awesome! I had to picture what two planes attached looked like. Got the reference.....lol

  • I just eat the DS. Better to get it out of the way early, than to try and avoid it and have it appear during the end game.

  • I actually have more trouble with skill checks after 3 or 4 tokens than I do with 5 tokens and no warning sound. Something about the shortened time between the sound and the skill check throws off my rhythm big time.

didnt play for a week. look on reddit and find a clip with a nurse going to space with like 400% move speed. i thought it was a speed hacker. but nope its not. its a glitch with the spasmotic breath (increases move speed to 4.6 but removes ability to blinik). its gliched and stacks to infinity. u dont lose move speed after u regain your blink.

i thought ok. not many know how to. but guess what a youtuber made a video and now i played 3 matches in a row against differnt people using this glitch. like i get it if u meme with it and just want to try it out ok. but like its getting annoying.

Is this "nurse" you speak of a new killer? Lol..I only ask because I haven't seen a nurse in months. I actually miss going up against her now.

  • @Alonzo said:

Happens to everyone. But don't worry. The "new" mm system will just hide the ranks so you won't have to worry about this anymore.

Haha...that reminds me of our repair garage at work. People were complaining that the low tire pressure light kept coming on. The garage solved the problem by putting a piece of black electrical tape over the light. No more light, no more problem. Lol

    Legion Main, Rank 1 Responses

"Don't you think he is very weak relative to other killers?"

    A) Not particularly, his ability while not the best has many effective uses, it can be used as a location tool, it forces survivors to mend, and is a free hit to injured due to his ability to fast vault both pallets and windows. His smaller stature also makes him difficult to see and with good cosmetic choices he can blend into dark environments quite well.

"What tactics can be applied to the legion"

    A) The first and biggest tactic you have to master is understanding when to cancel frenzy early. Learn to judge your Killer Instinct and see if it's worth it to go after another person or cancel early to save some power and continue chasing the person you've already hit. This will give you the best efficiency for your movement. This goes into even more details when you throw in iridescent buttons, as if you sense the survivor you've already hit with deep wounds will keep throwing down pallets it may be worth it to follow them for a second or two to vault and break some for an easier time later. Other tactics I employ is I like treating him as a stealth killer when not in frenzy. Using Monitor and Abuse and Nurse's Calling I catch people healing quite often and again, his small stature and wardrobe choices make him hard to spot, throw in a smaller terror radius and you can get some very cheeky downs without doing a whole lot at time. Also legion's ability to keep an entire team constantly healing or injured slows the game down significantly if applied correctly.

Another tactic is knowing when to frenzy and hit an already injured survivor for information. Suppose for example you have one survivor dead and you're defending a three gen against the other three. An injured survivor is near your furthest generator but is going to get to a pallet before you can catch them, it may be worth it to frenzy, smack the injured survivor forcing them to go mend, while also seeing if the other two survivors are heading towards your other two generators. If they aren't, cancel frenzy and continue chasing, if they are, head back and defend. As long as a survivor isn't actively mending you can smack them in frenzy for good information.

"What is wrong with his ability (What is missing in his ability)?"

I don't know how much more you could pack into his ability and it wouldn't start to cross into overpowered territory, biggest thing I wouldn't mind seeing is making killer instinct a little easier read and react to when it comes to multiple level maps.

"And does the legion need rework?"

I don't think so, and he's not going to get one anytime soon anyway as he's still relatively new compared to older killers. I also completely acknowledge he might not be for everyone.

I don't think he's weak though, he can be devastating to teams that like to heal a lot as he negates that time spent healing almost instantly and he can make teams very uncomfortable who decide to forego healing as the way I play him it's very easy to sneak up for single hits which if a person is already injured and didn't bother healing cause of feral frenzy means it's time to meet Mr. Hook.

Where we are in agreement is the theme of that chapter doesn't fit the Legion at all. A killer with the some kind of shape shifting or hallucination ability would have been a much better fit.

Spoken like a true Legion main! As a frequent Legion player, you hit the secrets to playing them well. Very informative post!

You're taking the extreme example. Plenty of games I've snuck past killers and finished gens your just not capable of seeing the enjoyment of it for other people because you dont like it.

Yep...there's a certain thrill that comes from hiding from a killer and watching them walk right next to you without seeing you!

  • @Tactless_Ninja said:

Mori's are seen as unsportsmanlike. You sack someone and remove them from the game. Back to waiting 15 minutes for a game.

And yeah, if your main strategy against a certain killer is just to die, there's an issue.

I think that's the real underlying problem with Morris. It's not getting killed early, but having to wait so long to get into a new lobby.

  • Do you also get the "no internet connection" error on the main screen after getting the rank update error?

  • @EvilJoshy said:

Why do they only do that for killers? They keep making things easier for survivor. Ruin being the prime example. People who can't hit great skill checks are flooded red ranks now.

As for nurse, I agree with the add on rework but not the cd to the blinks. I learned her without using more than 2 blinks. When I first tried 3 blinks it felt too easy. I don't like the cd to blinks now. It makes traveling the map harder. By the time I find someone I may have to wait to recharge them before going after someone. Without range add ons most survivors know if they run in a straight line, nurse has to spend 2 blinks just to close the distance and wait to blink again before they can hit you. The great nurses are still strong but that's about it. Every miss placed blink is costly and she is just too frustrating to play now.

That's IF you even come across a nurse these days. I actually get excited when I play against one now because it's literally 1 in 100 matches lately....

  • OP is exactly the reason why we have disconnecting bans. "I dont like how you play the game so I'm quitting." What are you, 12 years old? How about improvising? If the killer camps, go rush gens.

I play a pretty equal amount of killer and survivor and have NEVER quit a match...even when the other players are playing scummy. If one match doesn't go very well, I move on to the next one.

    Here are my predictions.

    1. Movement speed will be reduced to 110%.
    2. Cooldown on his chainsaw.
    3. Cooldown after reving his chainsaw.
    4. Addons will drop in rarity or increase.
    5. Red bar will be added in order to use his chainsaw again.

I actually think those predictions would be a reasonable compromise.

Plague. I play solo survivor and everytime I get a plague I deeply sigh and patiently wait for the 2 minute cleanse so I can go afk and make a sandwich or go use the bathroom because it’s already over by then.

I'm the same way. As soon as the match starts and I hear the running water coming from one of the cleansing fountains, I just sigh....

  • 20200219_112124.jpg

@Peanits I constantly get the rank update error when I play, killer or survivor, and have never got hit with a disconnect penalty. The one constant thing I have noticed though is when I get the rank update error and the game resets, I always get an error message stating that a network connection is required to play the game at the start screen. I hit the okay button and then space to start and it always starts back up afterwards. The rank update error is somehow tied to the game thinking that the user isnt online.

  • No...with the number of people of comms, it really loses a lot of its appeal.

"Hey, the killer's using 3rd seal and I can't see you."

    "I'm over by the shack"

"Kewl. I'll head over that way."

    See? Lol

  • I dont anymore. I used to have it on every build but Inner Strength is a way faster heal and is now my go to perk for healing.

  • Yep, I knew about the hag ones, but totally forgot about Freddy.

  • Got to echo a lot of the other posters on this one. I trash that daily every time it comes up.

It also works as a soft way to stall one survivor, if you make him drop the item far away from where you hook him he will lose a lot of time going after it, someone crossing half the map to retrieve his item is someone not fixing gens for 30 or 40 seconds, if he decides is not worth it you have effectively get rid of it.

Very true. I like making them drop their key in the middle of the cornfield. Gonna take some time to find that one again...lol

  • I forgot about the dream pallets...lol. Is there anything Small Game can't do?

  • @Pulsar said:

I have zero problem cleansing all 5 totems in a match. Small Game is underrated.

Small game is awesome...especially when you find out you are going against a trapper.... hehe

  • @Nickeleye I think the real advantage to using Franklin's is that the survivors (myself included) really love their items and tend to return to pick them up. I can't tell you how many times I've knocked an item out of a survivor's hands and started to chase someone else, only to loop back around and find them looking for their dropped item. Thats why you will see good hag players trap the dropped item. It's pretty much guaranteed someone will set that trap off. The loss of 10% of the item's original charge is just a plus and will take that item out of service much faster. After all, any use of that item is reducing the number of charges as well....

Bad matchmaking is my guess. Magical teleport sounds like dead hard. How many hours do you have in the game?

Yeah, when I heard "survivors magically teleport forward to avoid being hit" I immediately thought of dead hard too. I guess that's kind of what it looks like...lol

  • Right now, as a survivor, it would be Resilience. I can't count how many times my injured butt was saved when I was able to open the exit gates 9% faster...lol

As a killer, I think Nurses is still top tier. The amount of info I get from it is hard to beat and it's unlikely that injured players are not going to heal during the match.

    This 100%.

If you know you have an dr apt or have little time to play then why load up the game if it means you may have to leave suddenly?

Before playing always make sure you have the time to finish the game as using the leave option is for scenarios that arise without prior warning which should be few and far between.

    Like the inevitable "potty emergency"

I agree to:( they should fix other things ingame before they add this. What if players need to leave a match for example if they had to go somewhere or has a dr apt?

And when they want to come back and play a round they can't because they just got a penalty for leaving :(

The initial penalties are designed to be short just for that reason. If you have to leave to do something you arent going to try and jump back into another game immediately and the penalty will be gone before you return. Now if you always "have something to do" and find yourself frequently DCing, you deserve your penalty bc you are screwing everyone else over.

  • @Carlosylu "The most toxic player in DBD"

Now THAT is a bold statement..lol

I always get a kick out of the "Reported you. Enjoy your ban" chat. I've heard it a million times and never spent a minute in the penalty box. One more reason why I hate the end game chat. I've had some awesome conversations with other players before, but they always tend to be sandwiched between salty ones like that.

  • Probably not. I stopped using it after the nerf and, while more gens may be getting done in a match now, I'm not doing too bad and really enjoying having an extra perk slot to use now!

Not to mention, it usually got cleansed right at the beginning of my match so it was like I wasn't using it anyway!

  • @ProfessorDunwich My apologies. I misunderstood your post. I started playing survivor this past June. I think everyone should play both roles as it makes you a better player all around. Now that I am playing survivor too, I have a better understanding of how survivor perks affect me when I'm playing killer and how my killer perks actually affect survivors. My transition to survivor was also much smoother because I already knew the techniques and routes that survivors used to thwart me as a killer, so i tried to mimic those same tactics.

I dont think the problem with the game is more people playing survivor as of late. I think the true problem is less people are playing killer at all. By cutting out one side of the game, they are missing out on the opportunity to become a better player all around.

  • @ProfessorDunwich said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1078515#Comment_1078515

Ah the mythical, "apply more pressure."

This line has become the survivor main motto to discount any issues killer players have.

Survivor main? Sure thing. I used to play killer exclusively and now it's about 50/50.

  • @PatchNoir I had the same thing happen last night. I was running from the killer and suddenly found myself on the ground. The killer still had to walk up to me and pick me up.

  • @rha can't argue with logic like that! Well said.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

Most Ruin totems went in under a minute anyway. It’s placebo.

Game speed against a good killer is probably on pr with your average team deatchmatch fps

This. I used to run Ruin on every build until it was nerfed. During the "outrage" on the forum following the Ruin nerf, someone made the argument about what the difference is between not running Ruin and having it cleansed right at the beginning of the game. This was such an obvious revelation for me. I haven't used Ruin since that point and my games have actually been better. I have an extra perk slot to use now and it forces me to apply more pressure to the gens.

She might have meant it was stupid to take the first hit if the hook was real close and there was no way to wiggle off.

I initially assumed that, and realized my poor decision after I made it, but then why complain for the rest of her stream? The only person I really hurt was me. I think @shadowman0105 had the right idea. I was expected to not only take the hit, but also the hook for her.

  • @dbizzle said:

i am a 50/50 player so i like to do both dailys . however im noticing that the daily rituals are almost 70% killer 30% survivor. has anyone else noticed this?

I usually base my killer choice on whatever daily ritual I have to complete, but you are right. Whenever I complete a killer ritual lately, it seems to get replaced with another killer ritual...lol

  • @shadowman0105 That's how I took it. I was "stupid" because I didnt take her place on the hook. I'm sure she would have done the same for me, right? Lol

    Thanks for the feedback!

  • Ever since I switched to Inner Strength, I've been killing bones faster than Rosie O'Donnell in a bikini!

  • It's not fair. I've been dealing with that all weekend. I'm a rank 9 killer who is going up against nothing but red rank survivors lately. There's just a shortage of killers on PC right now. It takes me no time at all to find a game on PC as killer while I'm stuck waiting to find a survivor game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/945494#Comment_945494

I guess my question is do you play survivor too? I play both so when I’m a killer I can’t exactly whine about DS, BT, DH or adrenaline because when I turn around and play survivor I’m probably using at least 2 of those perks each game.

like people already said it seems this team was just meming around, that actually makes SWF like this easier to play against than four randoms.

That is a solid point. I do play survivor, actually more than I play killer these days, but of those perks you mentioned, I only use BT. I hate DS because I've been on the receiving end of it as a killer and I dont like exhaustion perks because I like trying different builds to keep things fresh and need the perk slots. Im way too cheap to bring in good items because I hate risking losing them (lot of good they do me sitting in my inventory I know..lol) From a skill level, they were definitely not very good, hence the end result. But I have played much better players with similar builds and the whole experience just feels miserable.

Monto had a SWF video he made where they brought in 3 keys and took turns escaping thru the hatch as the killer kept closing it. I know it was for entertainment purposes, but I always wondered what it felt to be that killer when they were just punking him over and over.

I think the point of my OP was just to vent about how some people post on here about how it's not fun to play against (insert killer name here) or when the killer does something they dont like. However, being a killer who goes up against a build like this is about as fun as undergoing a surgical procedure. It does make the victory so much more satisfying though...lol

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

So you really complain that it was unfair, though you killed them all? This just shows that sabotage isnt good anyway.

You misunderstood me. It's not that it's unfair, it's just a lousy way to play when you intentionally build to make the killer miserable. This game worked out well for me, I will definitely admit. I didnt post screenshots of the earlier matches where I just got gutted by the same types of teams. As the title of my post says, "been like this all evening."

  • @YaiPa said:

Doesn't seem to me they were the most optimal SWF ever. I mean, you go for sabo squad, tho only one unbreakable, 3 borrowed time (despite the killer should never hook you)...

Not by a long shot, which is probably why they all died. I mean, the one guy even brought in the sabotage perk to lose the hooks longer. I can't remember the last time I saw that one!

  • @PistolTimb said:

Wow that rank 19 is so clearly a new player. How could you kill such a beautiful baby? /s
