  • Answer? They havent been. They just dont have the answers people want to hear, so they structure what is in the works as a cohesive presentation before responding to every single whining post about it.

If every post is "why cant GF be immune to people revealing him", and they feel that wont be changed, or have no plans or initiative to change that aspect, why would they continually get on and say, "hey, that's not gonna happen, we dont think those changes are ever going into effect, its not what we have planned". Especially considering theres dozens of repeat posts and questions EVERY DAY on things that dont matter, or have even been said will not happen.

Example: "When will we get Jeepers Creepers".

Know why they dont answer that every time its asked? Because people will still ask, despite being told no.

    Gatekeeping.

If people bought the DLC for perks only that is just as a valid reason to make the purchase as you buying it for only the skin.

I'm not gatekeeping hon, I never said someones opinion was invalid or even implied that they shouldnt be allowed to enjoy it.

My comment was based on how everyone assumes the only reason Ash was ever bought, was for MoM. In which I called out that that point of view simply shows how heavily someone relies on perks to actually do well In the game.

Not once did I say anyone who was guilty of that wasnt allowed to play or had an invalid opinion.

    If anything, YOU are gatekeeping.

  • @Exerlin said:

With all the teachables in the game, it'll take way too long to get a perk you want if you're looking for any specific ones. I think it would be much better if the shrine refreshed every day. Otherwise, you'd probably be able to get the perk you want faster by saving up for the character it belongs to.

Problem with daily resets, is a lot of people cant play enough to farm 2000 shards in a single day.

  • @PoisonN said:

People never cared about Ash, it's only about the trash old MoM

I wouldn't have bought the DLC if it wasn't Ash.

I grew up watching Army of Darkness and the Evil Dead movies. That's literally what sold it for me and many others.

  • I still play Ash. Hes the ENTITE REASON I bought his DLC.

Stop showing how heavily you rely on perks. ;)

Yeah, I got that. But what determines my rank being reset? One month it’ll go from 6 to 13 and the next it’ll go from 1 to 10

It's a scale. At certain ranks, it will drop you to another certain rank and pip.

Rank 1 goes to 10. Rank 10 goes to like 15. Rank 15 gets kicked down towards 18.

It's basically to make sure the people at high ranks, earned it. If you're rank 1 and get kicked to 10, it's not hard to get back.

Ita never random though. It's always based on your rank and pips at the time of reset.

And it always happens on the 13th.

Honestly, if you're new, you should hear this now: as of now, rank serves NO purpose other than matchmaking. It does not represent raw skill or competetive play. It is not a ranked game.

So dont worry about it that much. Its really just a random number atm to make sure brand new players dont play with vets.

I see an average of MAYBE one or two d/c's a week these days. Maybe you wouldn't have so many d/c's in your games if you didn't play a sweaty nurse? I actually don't know if I've ever seen a d/c against a killer other than nurse or old legion (mori use excluded). I wonder why. I've seen as many killers d/c because they got a bad map or had a bad game as I have seen survivors d/c. Strange, that. And you already know servers are coming to supposedly fix that, anyways.

I haven't seen any of these game destroying bugs. Do you play on console? That might be why. I'll admit I don’t know much about the console scene, but I hope they fix whatever problems there are. And just letting you know - (on PC) if nurse, maps and insta-heals are brought to an acceptable state, this game will be as close to balanced as it has ever been.

I love how you assumed I play a sweaty nurse, or main killer at all.

I play more survivor than killer and still believe what I said. Dont try to get one side vs the other on me when you've got me pegged wrong to begin with.

to be honest, I don't think that strategy is fine, you should keep more useful perk with you, including DS and dead hard, rather than flip flop...

You should play your game and let me play mine perhaps.

I also never said I run them. I was merely speaking in hypotheticals as to why I felt it better than MoM.

    Nice try though.

  • Not a joke. With how often unbreakable and DS are, killers enjoy leaving you for "JUST long enough", to where even if neither are being ran, flip flop helps. Pair it with tenacity and/or unbreakable and it's great.

Sorry that "can be abused in a bad state" doesnt mean good perk to me. Even when MoM was that useful, it wasnt his best perk.

What would be childish is not having the insight in recognizing how an aspect of the game would affect you. It's a great coping skill in choosing to not participate in something that would likely lead to frustration.

To call it just a "challenge" is ludicrous. SWF breaks the game and is unfun to go against.

    Likely lead to frustration?

If you're getting frustrated playing games, stop playing.

Going into it you know it can either be easy or hard. If you want a free win, play minecraft.

Quitting because you cant handle your own emotional state, is in fact, very childish.

Not to mention the "game breaking swf teams" are NOT THAT COMMON. But using the full facts wouldnt fit your narrative.

Or maybe a bunch of killers refusing to acknowledge when something is clearly broken, even though they already got what they asked for (better totem spots).

Given the track record of this place it's not surprising.

I play more survivor than killer...soooooooooo......

This is a good point. In theory, if it lasts forever, the killer can hold the other survivor hostage in some situations. Like maybe they find them and just chase but never down them, only interrupting gen repair if necessary when the survivor tries to just do it in your face to force you to kill them, then drop resets.

Maybe if after a certain time the AFK husk is injured, then after the same time it goes into the dying state. At this point it would bleed out. So the killer can't pull stuff like that.

Yeah, that's really my only concern with leaving a husk. Is for how long. If its indefinitely, the killer can prevent hatch, or save BBQ/infectious fright for an opportune moment.

  • @knell said:

I hope the hook-able husks come soon.

My question for those is, if they DC, can a killer leave them afk to prevent the hatch spawn for the true last survivor?

Or will it be a husk for 30 seconds to use, then it disappears if you havent.

  • Also, a new DBD soon isnt likely. Theyve outlined a roadmap for the next 9 months at least, and from what I've seen, the devs make it seem like they want to support this one for a while. Just getting dedicated servers soon, so I cant see them abandoning/changing them all.

  • It's not too late, but I would play for fun for a while and avoid the forums mass whining and this vs that side bias. Then once you get the hang of the core game, go looking for tips, info, etc.

It happens a lot, and drives even vets to quit playing.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/626400#Comment_626400

    This is all so false.

    "It's called 'luck'."

Yea and there are some spots that would let you infinite a killer because you get "lucky" and particular windows spawn. Devs removed most of them, some still exist, but saying something shouldn't be balanced "because luck" is dumb.

"'Your totems are not meant to last all match'. Yes, they are, if you can't destroy them. Don't stomp your feet and pule like a child just because you got unlucky. By this logic, a totem should destroy itself if 'it's not meant to last all match'."

No they aren't. The only reason it would last all match is if the survivors let it. If I see the totem and want to destroy I should be able to. It shouldn't be impossible unless the killer actively stops me.

"Ok, let's extend your logic, OP: Survivors should auto-hook themselves. They are not MEANT to escape, since it's the Entity's realm. Generators should auto-regress, since your not MEANT to escape easily."

That's not what I'm saying. Actions should never be IMPOSSIBLE to do. Facecamping to body block unhook prompt made it IMPOSSIBLE to make a save. The devs changed it. Trapper being able to put traps in front of some totems made them near IMPOSSIBLE to destroy. The devs changed it. Now we have new totem spots that break these rules AGAIN.

Still waiting for someone to explain why the devs would change those totem spots, but now it's suddenly okay to have even worse totem spots.

"You're basically upset you had some bad luck and instead of coping, you're demanding devs screw over the Killers so you can have easier matches."

No I'm asking for balance. A fair and reasonable chance to do the totem. Bias much?

I've even said new totem spots on Badham are good because they are well hidden. Hidden is fine. Tucked into a tiny nook is not.

"You need to accept the fact that you can't always destroy totems. Stop whining for totem nerfs so you can GGEZ."

AAANNNNDD there we have it. The clear and present killer bias that is the basis for your position, and many other arguing with me here.

Again I said I want better hiding spots. I DO NOT want totems that can be made impossible to get.

"If I see a totem and want to destroy it, I should be able to".

You are. You just dont want to get caught breaking 3 traps to do so.

    /thread.

  • If anything its pay to speed up your grind.

You can get the perks in the shrine, and most killers with shards.

You cant buy something that others will have absolutely zero access to. That item just doesnt exist. Except killer powers, arguably.

Besides the fact that you can win games with 0 perks or addons. It's more of a quality of life to have certain perks.

Also, isnt hag free now? Or do they still charge yall for her on pc...

  • @Rivyn said:

What's wrong with killers dodging swf? If they don't want to deal with that level of team work, why go through it?

    That level of teamwork?

You do realize the "coordinated swf" are like 1 in 100 games right? Majority swf just play with friends. <10% are even full swf, and even LESS that that are "try hards".

Secondly, what's wrong with dodging a game because you cant handle a potential loss?

Everything. Just dont play the game if you cant take a challenge or a game that may not go 100% your way. Its childish to dodge or DC because you "think you cant win".

I'm not talking about just finishing the vault, I'm talking about vaulting and taking some steps away from the window. What the point if he can still reach you there, might as well remove all vault spots.

Except, that would require either Nurse, which survivors hate, tunneling, which survivors hate or insane map pressure, which relies entirely on survivors mistakes.

Or bad plays, a DC early, or any other random occurence that could cause even 1 gen to be left at the end. Preventing adrenaline doesnt take a 5 min 4k.

  • @Clockso said:

it doesn’t matter, the jigsaw boxes aren’t RNG but they can still get it off in the first box if they choose right and the killer will feel robbed, especially if you bring +2 jigsaw boxes and they get it off first box, which is just sad

They could also go all game picking the wrong ones.

It is literally the essence of a saw game. Make your choice. Live or die.

Pig sets them up for them to either get it off quickly, or die.

Granted, Amanda rigged her games almost always for failure, but even the entity wont let that happen. Her addons give her more leeway to that end.

But having it gone on the first chance on a good guess is better than everyone having the chance to do it the first guess, due to true RNG.

It's a nerf if it's not an exploit or bug but lowers overall performance which it very much has...plus..the devs have given no word on gf getting revealed through walls so I'm not claiming going to assume they didnt intend it..remember ds and mettle of man used to be different than now..so I'm waiting for their word on it..I'm not trying to be rude but saying it's not a nerf is just..silly

Changing numbers isnt always a nerf or buff. Period. You refuse to accept or understand that one simple line, so theres no point in discussing this further.

I could give you 1000 examples of how something is not a nerf, and because one number is lowered, youd say its TECHNICALLY a nerf.

Example. Hook phase times used to be 30 seconds. It was deemed far too short for actual gameplay without camping. They made it 60 seconds to BALANCE the game correctly. That's not a buff. The time doubled, but it's not a buff, it was a balancing change.

    <3

  • I dont understand why people join queues then go afk for whatever. It's not hard to unready, do your thing, and come back. The 2 mins you took to do that arent going to kill you.

On the other hand, when you ready up, and take 2 or 3 mins to do something, you have everyone wait in lobby, then have you afk for ######### knows how long.

It happens on here and rocket league a lot, and I dont understand the thought process of doing it.

YouTube? You have a phone, or some people a second monitor. Bathroom/drink? Unready. Itl be here when you get back. Irl issue? Turn off system.

"I alt tabbed to do X while I wait." Unless you tab back and check every 45 seconds, you're going to run the risk of being in game, and screwing everyone while you're alt tabbed.

On console, theres almost NO reason to do this.

Hitting "find game" and going away from it is selfish.

"But but but the queue times are 15 minutes!" Then do your ######### before you queue.

"I wanna watch YT while I wait for those 15 mins" Then check back every 45 seconds, or use a phone.

"But i alt tab because I'm on pc and have one monitor and no phone so I HAVE to alt tab YT" Then check. Back. Every. 45. Seconds.

It's unfair to the people waiting for a full game.

Also, if you HAVE to have something to do while waiting to play the game, maybe try the other role to save time. Maybe get a fidget cube or spinner. Pick up a book. Rubik's cube. Chess with yourself. TV anywhere else in the room. ######### there are a thousand things to do while waiting, but the pc gaming culture seems to have this NEED to intake information from the internet 24/7.

######### that was supposed to be 3 lines about dont go afk, its rude.

Lol but tell me..4 percent wider off what statistic..? It sure wasnt 8 percent of the reveal radious...besides , a nerf is a nerf..plus..the changes came after the release, therefore even by your definition it's a nerf..it lowered his performance..nerf

4% each side (8%) on what was the visual cone needed to reveal him. The survivors POV.

And saying "a nerf is a nerf " doesnt change that they were not nerfs.

We could say that fixing the SB bug was a nerf to survivors. Because TECHNICALLY it's harder for then to use it now.

We could say that 360 unhooks was a nerf to killers, because they cant face camp and negate core game mechanics, because TECHNICALLY it's easier for survivors to get a save.

Throwing around the term nerf doesnt make it true.

They wont ever bring it back in the way we expect or know, but they're definitely not gonna let the glow go.

Bro..they made his reveal radious wider and nerfed two of his addons directly, now hes getting broken out through walls..that was no adjustment it was a nerf by definition

4% on either side (like an INCH total on an average tv) so that he COULD be revealed. Because it wasnt happening standing in front of him.

Seeing through walls is a bug.

Neither are nerfs. One was an adjustment, and one was a BUG.

And nerfed 2 addons from the point they were in ptb to live? That's also not a nerf, because it wasnt live.

People voted about how he worked, not the specifics of every detail. It was a balancing adjustment to go live. Not a nerf.

A nerf would be if he could be revealed in half the time, or if only had to be on screen and not centered. Or if he couldnt stalk while leaning. Those are nerfs. Which didnt happen. Hes still very viable compared to before the "nerf".

Stop throwing nerf around like it makes what you say true.

Also, I'm not a bro. So you've missed the point with basically all of what you just posted.

Well then you didn't read the other part of my post. "or just factors out of control of the player." Sure some factors don'y matter like tile placements/arrangements, and the location of assets and what map is played, but the factors that do matter tip the balance of the game.

Right. Having ######### gate placement is bad rng. Taking 15 attempts on an addonless trapper is bad rng. Having 3 hooks withing spitting distance? Amazing or horrible RNG, depending on perspective.

But let's not use RNG on every thing we technically can we trying to structure cohesive arguments about why we need to fix RNG. That's how we get things adjusted that have no part of being messed with.

  • @Kerbert said:

Whether is matches with exact definition is irreverent. It's a gamble based on luck.

It's not irrelevant when you're trying to use it for this argument about how overly RNG the game is.

Its not based on chance, it's based on choice. Both are based on "luck" which is a made up thing. Superstition.

  • @Kerbert said:

It is RNG because it's randomized where the key is placed. There's no way for the survivor or the Pig to know where each key is.

Please read my entire post before responding.

"In the sense that everyone keeps using it."

It is not RNG like bear traps or skill checks. You ALWAYS have a 1/X chance, to choose correctly, where X is how many boxes exist. But when you choose, the correct answer will not change. After so many attempts you WILL get it off.

It's not a % roll on every attempt to see if you get out.

  • Jigsaw boxes are not RNG.

How many times do the devs or other people have to say that?

You get a trap and a key is placed/ you get a trap that corresponds to a specific box.

    You pick which box.

    You pick right or wrong.

That's not RNG in the sense everyone is using it.
