Going back to Wiggle, it's pointless. There is virtually no scenario in which you could free yourself, outside of Flip-Flop. There simply is not time to wiggle out. To test this, I got into the furthest corner of the exit gate, while a teammate was hooked nearby (on the closest hook). This means I had to be carried farther than the nearest hook, and still was unable to wriggle free, without Iron Grasp or Agitation. Please at least make it so I'm not ruining the controller trying to do this.
Sabotage hooks near you. Then wiggling helps. Drop 2 or 3 in the area or 99 them and tap when they get close. Theyll either leave you alone, or on the ground, or be unable to carry you far enough.

@[Deleted User] said:
I agree, also, do the same with the wiggle bar. I hate crap like this in games all it does is wreck my controller/keyboard.
I dont know. Sometimes I dont WANT to wiggle. Be it I've given up as the last, first, or the killer shakes their head and is offering to carry me about. Auto wiggling would get annoying.

But but but, BBQ and good perks are NEVER in the shrine...
Lol.

Idk. My buddy hasnt played in a long time, watches vids and me play, but is super excited for steve. He couldnt care less about the map or killer, he literally only wants to play steve.
I'm sure it will be an even split, and that may be why they gave us two survivors. More incentive to play that side.
-
Survivor who switched to killer, gets destroyed by swf.
Well yeah. You're a survivor who is going into this with the subtle mindset that survivors play like you. Probably not super sweaty swf.
Plus, those sweaty swf are like, what, 1/2% of the lobbies?
Most swf are trash because they fool around and play overly altruistic.

That's exactly why I want people to talk about it.
If the devs think it's great and fine it will probably stay the same. If they don't think so it will probably change.
You misunderstand. They will make the changes regardless of what the community says or doesnt. They're not looking for input rn. They are tweaking it as they see it will be good or bad. Once it hits ptb they may ask for input. And hell they may even lurk here and see something and use it. But every other post already complaining about the perks, when they're very likely goi g to change anyway, does nothing except flood the forums and start petty debates.
They give that disclaimer BECAUSE people on here argue so much before anything is released.
-
It's a dash, but you cant turn like pig. At all. So. It's not really like her ambush at all. It's more of a chase closer than an ambush.
Saying it's like her dash is only comparable because they cover ground then hit.

But it isn't out yet and it doesn't NEED to be released that way.
I'd rather say something about it and get people to start talking about it than say nothing and just accept having another extremely underwhelming niche perk.
There's plenty of time before the chapter goes live. If enough people say something maybe the devs will take a look at this perk and think about whether it really does what they want it to.
Right. And as they said on the stream if anyone actually watched it.
M cote said very blatantly and directly to the screen: "THESE NUMBERS AND EVERYTHING WE TALK ABOUT WILL CHANGE ONCE OR TWICE BEFORE PTB, AND PROBABLY AGAIN BEFORE LIVE, SO THIS INFORMATION WILL BE IRRELEVANT BY THE TIME YOU HEAR IT."
So it will likely change. But I still believe it's fine as is, it doesnt have to be op to be released and used.

When it also removes the possibility of noed, which people ######### about constantly? No, it's not wasting time.

@Tzeentchling9 No one is going to use Alert when Ghostface, who is NOT low tier and is used a decent amount of the time, will have undetectable. Pig isn't bad either. Alert is used so that you will know where NOT to go and be able to lose the killer. If you can't lose the killer 1/4 of the time(since there are 4/16 killers that will have this), why would you use it? It's just going to be replaced by something that's going to have the killer only players fussing. Also, need I remind you, most killers WANT survivors to have to hide. They want looping nerfed so that survivors will only be able to get away if they can hide from the killer. So what happens when survivors start losing stealthy perks AND looping is nerfed?
One or two viable stealth killers vs roughly 7 useable normal killers.
I'll still run alert. 1/7 being unused is better than nothing.
-
They know it will sell. Good power or not. Too many people like ST for them to NOT make money off of it.
Every perk and power could be trash, and they would still profit.
-
I love how we get 6 survivor perks and were bashing one of them. We got twice as many perks as normal. They cant all be good, meta perks. 1/6 being niche is fine...

It's not even that it's a BAD power, just, why spend a bunch of money buying the licensing for a show with a LOT of lore, for a creature that's linked to some very powerful stuff, just to give it a power that doesn't really relate to it much at all?
Because people will buy it anyway. That's the entire point of this chapter.
People who never played killer, wi probably buy it simply for the show.

Bears have four legs.
'Humanoid' means 'having an appearance or character resembling that of a human.'. Walks on 2 legs, has 2 arms, etc.
Okay then, bugbear.
Bears CAN stand upright. I'd define their front paws as arms and not legs.
You also had no retort for the others proving my point.
Humanoid also usually requires the capacity for intelligent thought. Which the demogorgon does not have. So again, rules dont really matter do they?
-
@Locker_Monster said:
Once again: Killers have to be 'humanoid'. 2 arms, 2 legs, 1 torso, 1 head.
They said 'no non-humanoid', not 'no nonhumans'
So we can have bears. Raptors. Xenomorphs. Hell we can have cats by that definition.
That alone isnt humanoid. But good to see everyone is muttering it about like it's the law now to defend this chapter.

Yikes bro that's really all there is to say honestly.
Should maybe find another game if thats how you feel about the game again if you dont enjoy something dont play it if Words/Gestures/Game Mechanics hurt your feelings that easy that is honestly a you problem that's not a game problem there will be bad apples in any game.
Growth is good more players playing opens a lot of doors.
-New Game modes(More players means higher chances for this to happen)
-Faster Queues
-More Variety
Theres probably many more but you get the idea.
Back to the original point that mindset is actually the problem with the game no matter how hard behavior tries to do good things people like youself and mr banned icon put them down as if the community is the worst of all time bro its a pvp game yes there will be toxicity you cant do anything about that name a pvp game that has no chatter going on in it you cant unless its a dead game.
Id also like to just point out if you are gonna reply with Camping/Tunneling/Slugging your argument is already debunked as there are counters to everyone of them.
Also one last thing if you think dbd is the most toxic game of all time you clearly have never played CSGO/League of Legends/Dota/RainbowSix just saying.
I've played siege and LoL a lot. Recently. This community is easily the most toxic.

To what get new players for this toxic community to bully
Exactly. Trending like that means people who dont know the game are interested. Almost ONLY for stranger things. Theyll try the game, meet the campers and pro loopers, gen rushers and ruins nonstop, and get pissed and either just quit, or add to the whining on here.
1/10 of the people that are new, for ST, I'd say will actually stay.
It's like fortnite. Use things to hype people up and play, but then they realize the game isnt what they want, or even what it used to be.
-
Well, half of your "useless perks" arent useless. It's the mindset and set in stone meta that people run that makes you think that.
Premonition is amazing if you pay attention. Diversion works wonders if you use it right.
Hell, even deja vu can be used well if you dont want to SEARCH for gens. Pair it with a map that shows your allies what you see and it's a team boost.
-
They call it an exploit because, by design, survivors have smaller hitboxes and can run around objects more quickly.
Its using game mechanics. That were programmed as such. To not run in a straight line and die.

Not really. 2 standalone killers and 2 standalone survivors.
If anything, this will make it imbalanced.

1) Saying it's bipedal doesn't make it suddenly not humanoid, that is one aspect that makes something humanoid. I wasn't insulting you, you don't know the definition of the term humanoid and I didn't know what to tell you other then to look it up and try and understand it better. You can either educate yourself, or be stubborn and keep using a term incorrectly. I'm not normally one to be a stickler for definitions in an internet discussion but when that word is the basis of your argument I'm going to correct you.
2) It is horror. Horror is a diverse genre, and it not scaring YOU doesn't mean it doesn't use thematic elements to scare people and fall into the category. You're just being stubborn again. A monster from an alternate dimension shows up and hunts people after pulling them into this alternate world that is dark and isolating. I'm curious if you consider Alien, Pans Labyrinth, or Silence of the Lambs horror. Maybe you're more picky and exclusive with your definition.
3) You argument of them grabbing survivors from a later season and killer from an earlier season is invalid because how the entity works. It pulls people and killers from different times. I didn't "conveniently" not answer, I didn't think it was relevant. What about your ignoring Laurie and Quinten both being children?
You don't see a demogorgon in season 3 so I can't answer if it still holds a threat, but I'd say yes since it is a monster that eats people. It doesn't feel like they hobbled it together from my perspective.
Laurie was a senior in high school. It could be said shes 18. Quentin doesnt exist because hes not Freddie's real survivor. However hes also in high school and could be assumed 18. I didnt watch that pos remake.
It's not horror. Not because it doesnt scare me, It's because it's not horror at its core. Period. It's like saying the goonies is horror.
It standing upright does not make it humanoid. So once again, I'm done debating this with you. It has two arms and stands upright. Doesnt make it humanoid. As I said with bears, raptors, xenomorphs, etc. Hell, meercats can be humanoid by that.
So. Again. I'm. Done.
Too much fanboy hype overriding logic. Which is exactly what they wanted. Fortnite strategy. Mass fanservice > what made your game good to begin with.
-
I'd bet they charge for both survivors.
They upped the price on pig cosmetics recently, and this while chapter screams money grab.
I'd expect to have to spend an extra 5 bucks. Even though they could just give us "the kid" and pick one or the other like legion.
-

If for any reason the switch can immediately just get the licensed dlc they will most likely just do what they did before Bill was able to go to console. They just renamed all his perks and made them neutral till he could be added in.
They didnt rename them. They just changed icons and made them "universal" perks.

It has nothing to do with the power, the Demogorgon could easily kill survivors outside of the upside down
I thought you were basing the power on the trailer, since there were upside down tendrils shown when he Demogorgon was revealed
What I'm saying is that it won't bring survivors to the upside down but will likely use the portals just to travel around the map, maybe survivors could use those as well
What I think it's going to be is that it will create a portal, enter the upside down, won't see survivors, go somewhere and open another portal
I probably misunderstood what you meant when you said "Old Freddy"
Going into a portal, not seeing survivors, and then coming out sounds a lot like spirit walk..
This is my issue. All ideas of its power I've heard are already in game, with different skins.

Humanoid does not mean human. Humanoid just refers the standing upright with the same arrangement of limbs. If something's not humanoid, it would require redoing every animation just for that one killer.
As for the rest, I would say just watch the show. I don't want to spoil anything, but the demogorgon is still around.
No peanits. That defines bipedal. But okay. If that's how we do things now.
Xenomorph when.
Raptor from jurrassic park when.
Cantaur. When.
Because theyre not humanoid. They're bi/quad pedal. I've played plenty of DND to know what humanoid means. I know it doesnt mean "human ". I know it also doesnt mean "stands upright".

1) It is humanoid. I don't know what to tell you other than to learn the definition of the word.
2) Stranger Things is a horror tv show. Sure it has a subcategory of Sci-Fi, but it's unquestionably a horror show.
3) That's not a "shallow" excuse. They simply are adults. It doesn't break their rules. If anything Nancy and Steve are more valid survivor options than Laurie and Quinten because of age.
They didn't go back on their word
Making the Clown a killer was going back on their word. NONE of this is.
1.It Is not humanoid. It is bipedal.
And that's where I'm done with you. Raptors are humanoid if you believe that. Bears are humanoid too then.
Walking on hind legs does not make it humanoid. Period. Perhaps you should touch up on your vocabulary instead of trying to insult others to defend your wrong points.
2. It is not horror. It is not scary. It is a scifi show, tad of comedy ffs. It has horror elements and nods, but it is not horror. It's a teen show that uses horror as a tag to get more viewers. Hemlock grove wouldnt be horror, and it's far darker that ST.
3. It IS a shallow excuse. Is the demogorgon STILL the threat in s3? You conveniently didnt answer. Because if not, they took the killer from earlier seasons, and survivors from later seasons to fit their own rules because otherwise it wouldnt work. They literally had to hobble the content together to make it work. They're only adults NOW.
-
@LCGaster said:

The Demogorgon can open doors to the upside down, it doesn't bring the upside down outside
In season 2 the town of Hawkins was getting corrupted by the upside down, through the portal, not the monster
I'm not debating how the show works.
It cannot affect a map, and not be part of the killer. It is literally coming from the killers lore.
If it was on the map, then LF could use it.
It has to be tied to the power. Otherwise its just a new game mechanic, and has nothing to do with nor gives us the need for the demogorgon.

Yeah, old DS was WAY better then. MoM ever was. Then they listened to feedback and changed MoM in response to survivor/killer critique and it’s even more different.
even if it’s similar, they aren’t going to copy and paste the ability, it’ll function differently and they will make the power more unique as time goes on. They ALWAYS tweak the powers a little now.
You’re worried it’ll be too similar, but your example you used proves the opposite of your concern.
No, you didn't comprehend what I said. At all.
My point is that they can "remove or rework" something, then release something that is causing the same issues, or under the same umbrella. Not the same.
Saying it wouldnt surprise me at all if they did it, as theyve done this type of thing before. "We changed it because of X". "Heres a new perk, that is heavily based on X".
-
@LCGaster said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/638595#Comment_638595
No?
In the trailer the upside down was clearly corrupting the school, it's apart of the map, not the power
So the killer only works on one map? Or the upside down works on all killers on JUST that map? Right.
Its tied to the killer. It may look different but the concept is gonna be the same. Transition survivors to another realm, where you're slightly more powerful. That's rehashed.

“Broke all their rules”?
STRANGER THINGS SEASON 3 SPOILERS
The two characters are both adults in the show now. And that’s one rule, that they didn’t break.
Humanoid killers. Being the big one.
Horror as a main point being another.
Also taking 3 seasons to mature is a shallow excuse. Was the demogorgon still the threat in season 3? Did they really not have any better ideas?
Or are they just mixing to make it work and appeal to fans.

Except at its core, it doesnt fit the game. But yeah, great for all the people who yelled about a ST chapter even though it's an 80s sci fi show with horror nods.
Yep. Great for the game. So let's get Frankenstein next. Hes horror. Or maybe the cheschire cat. Being trapped in a new world tripping acid is pretty scary.

Glad people who wanted it got it, but it's a shame that people asking for something that doesnt fit, works. Jeepers creepers next. And jason. And hell now that theyve broken all their own rules theres ZERO reason we cant have xenomorph. Since, ya know, their own rules dont matter anymore.

None of what you mentioned has much of anything to do with gen tapping, and as has been repeatedly stated Overcharge is not an acceptable counter because the skill check can still be done whilst running away from the gen
It's also been repeatedly stated that overcharge is not the only answer, given it's your best bet, and the fact remains: people refuse to swap out their meta for what would help them. This could be posted in easily 25% of the threads that pop up complaining about a specific mechanic they have issues with.
If anything, calling for a harsher regression would be a better idea. It would enable overcharge to still be efficient, as well as somewhat relieving the "gen rush". It also wouldnt prevent people from taking the risk of BEING HIT while running around a generator....
-
@HatCreature said:
I remember there was a HUUUGGEEE thread about this a little bit ago and thought this was a re-post.
Yes, I agree, they need to add just 1 second to stop regression, 1 second of an animation.
But do know that Gen tapping was officially given a counter with Overcharge so there is that. The true power of Overcharge comes in when you get Gen tappers but you don't always get them. Just like you don't always get body blockers and waste a perk slot on Mad Grit or don't always get people going into lockers when you get Iron Maiden because the perk is #########.
I don't think they'll address this but I still think they should, Overcharge will still be relevant but will probably not be as strong since Survivors will have to focus during that 1 second. I might be wrong though, never know until they try y'all.
Yep. As with almost any "bullshit tactic" people get sick of, there is a guaranteed perk or two that would help deal with that particular issue. But nobody wants to change up their meta BBQ Ruin enduring spirit fury build. They just want to complain about how they didnt run surveillance or Franklin's and those damn kids got out with BNPs and a key.
