They should nerf sabotage and buff flashlights more. I want three flashlight tapes together that blind the killer instantly for 5 minutes straight.
But seriously how is going from 180 charges to 30 a disguised buff to toolboxes?
Because the charges arent the only change to them?

Anybody have any idea?

Because survivor-mains cried about peer-to-peer, and demanded dedicated servers, not knowing what consequences this will bring. Not knowing that putting a 3rd party between the players will INCREASE the interaction latency not decrease it.
We knew it would increase latency.
We also knew of quite a few issues p2p had that dedicated solved.
Were also not all "survivor mains" that wanted it.
I'm 60/40.

Or, instead of trying to fix something which they are not able to fix, they can give up on Dedicated Servers. Its a mess. And calling 150 ms Ping good (what they did on the Stream) is also simply wrong. Especially when it is 150 ms Ping for Killer and Survivor.
It's a shame the community wanted this so badly, and now we have it you all want it gone.
Do we not remember the issues that were rampant with p2p killer hosting?
-
One from tome 1. 13 sacrifices.
Despite getting 4 hook kills in one game and 2 in the next, I only have 1/13 sacrificed.
It's difficult to do when the game wont count it.
-
I use it a decent amount. The killers I've been facing lately either dont break pallets when they should, or straight up give up and leave. It's free pallets at that point.

Yeah and you'd have people on PCs crushing people on console...oh the joy. I'd much rather wait for 10 minutes and not have to face some sweaty guy on a PC. Puppers said it best I think on this...not only no, but HELL NO.
And seeing how buggy the game is now on both sides and knowing the current skill set of the developers how well do you think a cross-over game between platforms would work? In case you weren't aware, the dedicated servers on Xbox for example had to be taken down. The current problems with the game would seem like a well oiled machine compared to the FUBAR a crossover would be.
And the matchmaking system will sort that out.
Rank doesnt give anything and is just a matchmaking tool as is, so you dont miss out not being higher.

But nobody likes to listen. They just want to rant and rave.

So as opposed to not letting pixels bother you (teabagging), which they want; and opposed to turning off endgame chat, you come here to tell them their parents dont love them?
Sounds like you have just as much tilt as they do, but they used it against you.
Clicky clicky and teabagging does NOTHING to you. Unless you let it. Same with endgame chat.
Also, fix gen speed and it wont be a problem? Come on. You know as well as I do that toxic people are toxic.
And gen speed is not the only issue in game. Nor will it solve "toxic survivors".

Addons for him, terror radius in stealth, six seconds stealth after uncloaking. Screw insidious. Tinkerer, Distressing, Dark Devotion, Furtive Chase. Yeah, its just for fun. These builds aren't meant to kill people. Just to have fun playing.
Yeah that's literally what I said but with the rest added lol....
I like insidious just for the random situations when I really want to ######### with people.

That's like wraith with insidious, tinkerer, and the addons that keep TR in stealth, and hide TR for 6 seconds out of stealth. Absolute chaos of a mindgame for them.

Also, the third knew as much as you did. A lobby with 3 survivors and a countdown is a 2 killer bug. Its not hard to notice.
-
So, another "I should be allowed to DC" story.
If it's that bad, get caught, die on hook. Done.
Dont try to cover up wanting to DC with the 2 killer lobby bug. Because:
A- we all know it's a losing game, no need to argue that. It's a bug/hack, so STAY AS LONG AS POSSIBLE AND RECORD IT AND REPORT.
B- I'm WAITING for it to happen to me, because I think as horribly as it would go, it would be super interesting going against two killers.

Making struggle automatic would be a nice change, keeps people from quitting for just 1 minute and saves my keyboard a bit
Except, if it was automatic, they would have a "press X to give up", for the sake of time wasting as last survivor, giving up for hatch, etc.
Which would still have people giving up on hook.
It would relieve some button pushing, but the problem would remain.
-
I've been having this pallet issue. I can be STANDING at it, hit the button 3 or 4 times, and it wont throw it until after I've been hit, and sometimes not at all.
Not waiting to last second hitting it, literally mashing the button over and over.
It reeeeeally sucks but I only assume it has SOMETHING to do with dedicated servers and how the killer sees it.
-
@neekocheeko said:
It's not like the devs can do anything about it. Maybe it's time to remove hook wiggling and mashing to struggle?
Nobody likes mashing a button, just to stop mashing for 0.001 seconds and dying by accident anyways.
I mean, you dont have to spam it that fast. 2 or maybe 3 pushes a second really isnt that bad.
-
Actually, it helps.
Killers still get BBQ stacks.
Survivors get a few more moments to do something while they're being carried and hooked.
Survivors even have a chance at an unhook.
It is far better than "I got downed. DC".
-
Lol...okay.
5 minutes ended your session?
So less than a normal lobby wait time?
-
Simple reason: nobody expects it.
-
Pigs traps go off if you put it on BEFORE the last gen is done.
If no gen goes off, trap doesnt activate.
-
@Peanits said:
I'm not sure if that would really be necessary. Killers do already get more points than survivors the vast majority of the time. Bundled with the fact that BBQ stacks are easier to get than WGLF stacks and you already get a huge amount of bloodpoints when playing killer.
Well, yeah, but it's not incentive enough apparently lol.

Did you even attempt to comprehend my post? I specifically said it was a legit strategy. I didn't say the killer was wrong for using it. But since you chose to ignore that let me clue you in to a little secret. What I said and your "translation" mean the same thing. You are one of those people that goes looking for ways to be offended aren't you?
No, I'm one of the types of people who read the post, and saw the way you made snyde remarks about it as if it was a ######### thing to do or they were so bad they had to.
"have to resort to slugging to get kills"
As if they cant get kills normally, and have to resort to this.
Instead of the fact that they played what was dealt at the moment. It's like saying "survivors cant loop and have to resort to healing each other".
The words themselves arent the issue, the context and implication is.
I'm sorry if what I says offends you, maybe you shouldnt let things bother you so much? Or not take it so personally?
I bet you're the kind of person who has to make a witty last remark and try to get someone to agree with you to feel like you're right, right?

I'm with you man. I think people would have a lot of fun with 2v8. Teaming up with a buddy to kill the survivors sounds like it'd take a lot of the stress off since you could just talk to your friend and not be so alone when the survivors turn toxic at least.
Honestly, it's why I play killer less. I like to have someone to chat with while playing, keep my mind off of "go go go", and laugh about it. But my friends sound ######### when they play killer so it never works. Being able to go together would be sweet.

"Given the large and still growing number of perks in the game, it could be a long time before a perk appears in the shrine."
Um, so what? This is where my comment about shame comes into play. You make it seem like to unlock something via shrine takes an abnormal amount of effort or time. No. It just requires letting time pass. Why does the possibility of it taking a long time nullify the fact that it equalizes the game and alleviates your fears of uneven power creeps via paid content being inaccessible to new players?
"We aren't aiming to make every new perk the new best"
Let's drop the pretense of designing a new best. How about a new perk that can compete with Adrenaline, DS, Borrowed Time, etc.? Inner Strength is the only decent perk in the last few DLC. Yui was completely useless.
For fun, sure, but if you're at the point where you need meme builds to have fun, I'd simply suggest switching games. It's a big world out there. Lots of fun to be had. How about being bold in your perk designs instead of timid? Every new slew of perks seems like you're releasing, yeah, more "meme" fun perks, but nothing bold and game-changing. Guess that's only reserved for nerfing killers like with ruin, huh?
Lol Imagine thinking yui was useless.
When killers get sick of chasing me or dont break pallets, I find her useful.
When facing the oni, or playing any build where I dont want to be tracked, I again, find her useful.
When another survivor helps me bodyblock and we just need a FEW moments, I find her useful.

Yes, rank is purely meant to be for matchmaking purposes. In an ideal situation, your rank would be directly proportionate to your skill. We've found that this current ranking system doesn't directly reflect your skill, so we're trying something else.
Okay, I've been trying to explain this to people for so long.
And yeah, optimally if matchmaking wasnt super wonky right now it would be relatively closer games I terms of overall average skill, but with the emblems as is its not....perfect... lol.
Thank you for clarifying it though for me.
-
@Peanits said:
They don't mean absolutely nothing, although they are more indicative of how much someone played in a given month rather than how good they are. Naturally people who play more tend to be better at the game, but it's not a hard set rule. Someone might only play a few matches a week but still be very good at the game. This is why we're moving away from the current ranking system for matchmaking.
So can we have a mod or dev confirm, that rank is literally just a matchmaking tool? Because it sounds like that is what you're eluding to. "Were moving away from rank as a system for matchmaking" sounds like that's what it was, and over time people have got so dead set in the idea that rank=your skill 100%.
Just for peace of mind? Everyone misinterprets rank (due to games having ranked standings and modes) for the fact that it just TRIES to BETTER match you with people that are AROUND your skill level.
-
No, it's a fact.
Its literally a matchmaking tool, that is easily abused/worked in your favor if you know WHAT to do. Not how well you can do it.
Rank means nothing because:
A- it resets monthly. Because its not a rank. Its matchmaking.
B- it offers no reward or incentive, so its literally just to say you have this number on screen.
C- matchmaking is so wonky, and the ranks are so easily findable if you play to it, that they serve no purpose.
With all those points, and these potential (frequently occuring) situations:
-You can have a match with a rank 1 killer, rank 18 survivors, and still have the killer lose.
-Or have the level 18 survivor escape while the rank 3 gets downed in 25 seconds on first chase and gives up on hook.
It leaves us with the fact that rank means nothing. Because it never did. And if it DID mean something, the way matchmaking and pipping works, makes that irrelevant, because it's easily manipulated.
-
.....no..
BODYBLOCKING is not bannable.
Holding the game HOSTAGE is.
At a box, the person will die when the trap goes off. Game ends. No hostage.
I frequently do the pink addon, 1 trap, 2 boxes, and play 50/50 with the victim. Pick one. I'll be at the other. If you picked wrong, you die.

Hackers dont exist on Ps4 and Xbox one. The hackers in dbd are PC players.
That changes nothing of what I said.
Besides, they should root out the hackers and deal with them regardless. Not allowing crossplay JUST because pc can hack isnt a reason. If anything, cross play would just enable more awareness.
-
Hackers make you not want cross play? You know that wont stop hackers right?
Cross play would be amazing. Hackers are hackers. On every console.

agreed , as i said in other posts already, this dc punishment is a joke. cause innocent people get punished, because the game has so many bugs and connection issues. plus the guilty people will just keep suiciding on first hook, so the whole dc penatly system is for nothing.
It helps prevent people from doing it all day.
The only people upset now are the ones who csnt get away with it without consequences.
If the game is buggy, or your net is bad, you KNOW you may get kicked. You KNOW it can happen. Yet you put 4 other peoples game at risk for it.
So take the 5 mins, calm the hell down, and come back in a few or play something else.
DC bans are the best thing to happen to this game.

They're supposed to be.... get this.... challenging!
You dont have to complete every challenge to finish the tome, and the tome never goes away.
You also dont have to do it all to complete the rift.
A battlepass by nature encourages players to spend money to skip tiers and save time.
The challengs are a good lore and cosmetic objective added to the game, something to do when you're bored/ have no goal.
If you can do them, awesome. If you can do them in time to get extra rift progress, even better!
But please let's not keep complaining about challenges being challenging or requiring you to play a specific or niche way to accomplish it. Thats their entire point.

After 3 minutes yes. Personally, I'd have DC'd and explained to the killer/survivors what happened. Would you enjoy being stuck like this for 3 minutes knowing theres nothing you can do, and others think you just decided to go AFK?
It's no worse than being slugged for 4 minutes. It doesnt REQUIRE a DC.
And as with every other bug I encounter, yes. It would highly entertain me. And I would record it and submit it as a bug.
But I wouldnt try to vehemently defend DCs on the forums when something already resolved itself.
But that's just me. 🤷♀️
If you cant wait a few minutes to see what happens, then DC, take your ban, and live with it.

So NOED is supposed to be Hex because (insert reason here) but other, weaker Hex perks (all of them actually) can get #########. Wow thx. Its not like you need to cleanse 5 time totems compared to other perks already
I agree that Hex perks need a slight buff, bit NOED is the last perk that needs it. NOED literally has a cleansing protection built in (insidious to surviviors and 5 totems to cleanse it before its active)
It's almost as if those hexes are more useful during early game and have other bonuses to compensate.
Thrill: literally tells you when to go save a totem.
Devour: Grants noed one hit AND you can mori.
Huntress: progressively makes skill checks harder throughout if not cleansed.
Third Seal: makes saves, unhooks, dying state heals, etc much harder due to not seeing anything.
Ruin: well, let's be honest, its had a rough time, but it still slows gens the ENTIRE game unless cleansed.
Now onto Noed: only activates at end game, if not cleansed already, and when noticed, will almost ensure the other survivors leave or cleanse it immediately.
Unlike the others, it is not used at all until the last few minutes of the game, and against halfway competent survivors wont even activate.

For 15 seconds, that’s a bit short of a wait time before considering hook suicide. I would have done what they did and waited to be unhooked to see if the bug to fixes itself, unfortunately that didn’t happen.
Yet, it did fix itself as soon as they were unhooked and picked up.
Why are you so dead set on justifying a DC right now?
