Well I'm sorry you feel that way, but this has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand, so I'm not sure why you feel the need to bring it up here.

I PERSONALLY think it's because were talking about perk use, balance, and personal preference: and how some of the things mentioned could be classified as those exact things. Personal preference about which perks are added how, and their use/synergy.

But that's just how I feel personally.

Even Adam Sandler or Morgan Freeman would be amazing as survivors

Wait, who was Sandler in The Pick Of Destiny???

  • @Archimedes5000 said:

Just because surviviors have DS doesnt mean NOED is completely fine. Both DS and NOED need changes, because they are both unfair and annoyimg to play against.

    1. NOED has the strongest cleansing protection of all perks
    2. NOED does not require ANY sort of build up or preparation (tokens or sum shiet)
    3. Despite points 1 and 2, NOED still has the strongest effect in the game (exposed + haste)
    4. It slows down the game by over 80 seconds, yet its treated as an endgame perk
    5. Its impossible to know if the perk is in play or not, so most of the time you counter non existent perk.
    6. In comparision, Devour Hope is weaker in points 1 and 2, it has THE SAME or even weaker effect (point 3). That alone proves its not 100% right, its stronger than similiar perks for no reason.

So whats MY problem with NOED? I dont have a problem with cleansing protection alone, but it should require effort from killer too. There should be some sort of token system that would control the power of the perk.

There are 2 reasoms for that

    1. Making NOED bad option for hard campers, who exploit the perk the most
    2. Making NOED possible to discover by surviviors who are waching the killer closely and will notice when they are collecting tokens for NOED. For example like when you can see the killer has Devor when you see them running away from the hook in panic. (This point is an "additional objective", its not necessary)

    How would I fix NOED?

Make NOED only usable on people you have hooked before (like Moris are now)

Sure, When we make it not cleansable as a totem that can be found by happenstance.

  • That would require an actual ranked system, and not a matchmaking tool labeled as "rank".

Which is what we have. It's a pseudo MMR.

I disagree to some extent. I know there are a lot of games that have kept their core elements and remained timeless to some extent. Some games have even made the game a lot worse by changing the fundamentals of the game (PAYDAY 2 for example). However, I feel like Pokemon isn't too comparable to DbD since it has so many other elements to it that make those four moves a fraction of what the rest of the game is since you have 6 other Pokemon to mix and match with. The only way you can achieve something similar with this is a 4 man swf where you pick specific builds for a certain strategy.

I just feel that since the market of video games nowadays strives for replayablity that many developers of games following this archetype (MOBAs, battle royale games, MMORPGs) create variety by switching up the fundamentals of the game. Eventually so many perks are going to become so obsolete that people will complain they even exist in the first place since they need bloodpoints for them. A passive perk would probably be a solution to this.

I mean, when 4 moves were implimented, they had like 100 150 moves total.

Now they have 300 or 4pp moves easily, and still works with the 4 move system.

I think their point wasnt to compare, but to point out that with proper balance, leaving 4 slots and having over double the original options, is still viable.

Watch the whole clip. I will go through it step by step with you.

First, they were hooked. This made the screen go black but they weren’t in a falling animation, essentially they were blind.

Second, they were unhooked. Look at their health state when it changes from hooked to injured, it glows a brighter shade of red. This indicates a change in their health state. The unhook put them in the falling animation. From the players point of view, they are stuck in a falling animation; they can’t wait to die on a hook as they are not hooked, they don’t know if they will ever return to the map, they think they are permanently stuck in an animation they can’t get out by themselves. Disconnecting here is not a bad option and the Devs should be highly understanding why it was done.

I did watch it. You dont have to attempt to speak down to me to feel better.

    They got hooked.

    They bugged out.

They get unhooked and picked back up, fixing the bug.

Then they get hooked and killed.

    Game ends.

Explain which part requires you to DC to be able to leave?

Many times the devs have proved my optimism wrong but if I don’t have faith in the game I just might drop it.

I mean, yeah, I'm not saying dont have hope, but, this "random sound bug" thing has been happening for almost 2 years every other patch. I wouldnt expect too much.

  • Only 1 or 2 in the last day or so. And not even rage DC, just seemingly poof.

An Ace ran to a gen, started work, and as 'I' got hit, he just DCs.

But people getting caught teabagging and then DC? Not at all. It's been lovely.

    Easy.

They were stuck in a falling animation whilst in the injured state, or are we watching different videos?

Yes which eventually ended, resulting in going to the postgame screen. Did you not read the post or what I said?

Also, they were falling after being hooked, even if the HUD didnt show it. Watch it again. Then they got pulled out of it. Even less reason to DC.

They dont have to DC because they're not STUCK IN GAME. It's a bug, and it's unfortunate, but it ended and kicked them out. They were only bugged during the hook, which I stated, and you obviously didnt read, and were not stuck in the game indefinitely. There is no need to DC when the game did that for them regardless.

That’s the thing, the sound bug is completely random though and no doubt will be patched soon. As soon as the bug is fixed I’m willing to bet there will be a few more posts like this, she is still an extremely strong killer but it wouldn’t hurt to have an idea on when she is phasing other than one skin having shards that light up.

Just as the title states, I don't understand why? This is a asymmetrical game and you need a 4/1 ratio for it to work out. I play survivor more because the wait times for killer are very long. It takes me up to 15 minutes at times to get a killer game (a decent percentage of the time) and around 5-15 seconds to get a survivor game. I've played this game since 2017. I definitely get in the neighborhood of 4/1 or 5/1 killer dailies over survivor dailies. The other annoying thing is that I can only delete 1 daily a day. I really wish I could just delete them even if it mean it gave me zero. And ultimately, I think they need to change the ratio to be more survivor oriented so that they are more in line with the player base. At the very least, they need to be 50/50. It just gets old constantly deleting dailies hoping I'm actually going to get one I could accomplish. I'm not willing to wait 15 minutes for a game 3 times just in hopes that some SWF will step in my trap for 25K points when I can do 3 gens/3 hook saves/Sabo 2 hooks/etc... in 1-2 games and wait 15 seconds to get a game.

Nice try though hon, you really put forth the effort to do whatever you could to prove your argument yet do no work to ACTUALLY prove it.

Say it too pop goes the weasel where 3 gens are finished at your first hook most likely and maybe the last 2 gens that are getting worked on are on the other side of the map. Say it too noed where you can cleanse all 5 totems. There are more examples for sure. My point is, there are many perks that may come not in action for the entire game, and as Killer it hurts even more because you are 4 perks vs 12.

Pop goes the weasel is based on killer doing their job. It can be used all game. It's high reward, if you play your role right (as per emblems, hook, leave, kick gen, dont camp).

NOED is based on survivors doing their jobs (bones). It can down up to 4 people and gives a speed boost. It's high risk v reward (if survivors do bones, you have 3 perks).

Unbreakable is based on a survivor wasting a perk slot, and hoping the killer puts off their job (hooking you) to chase someone else, so that you can get ONE use out of it. High risk, very little reward (may never use it, only one use, based on killers plays, not yours).

The difference is the others downsides, are just not downsides, they're based on people playing correctly/poorly for their own perks/life.

Unbreakable is you putting your life in the chance that a killer just leaves you on the ground. The downside is not being able to control if or when you even get to use it, and having 3 perks all game sometimes.

Well thats odd. I mostly play killer and only get a survivor daily once a month if I'm lucky. Good try though. Let me see what the players know about the liklihood of certain dailies appearing than others. Oh looks like we have yet to record any official information from behaviour.

  • @NullEXE said:

    There are more survivors than there are Killer meaning;

    • Balance the game in Survivors favor, and do not balance around SWF because the game is more fun for the bigger crowd that way. More fun for SWF = more money.
    • Make killer challenges to unlock important lore aspects to the game, this will make people play killer - even though it's not fun, or balanced.
    • Give free cosmetics easier to earn by playing Killer challenges, this will make people play killer - even though it's not fun, or balanced.
    • Make Killer dailies more likely,  this will make people play killer - even though it's not fun, or balanced.
    • Since Killer is not fun or balanced, it is hard to have many high ranking killers. Expand the area that Killer's can be ranked against so that low rank killers can face high rank survivors. This makes it so that even in high ranks, survivors continue to get into games, and continue having fun.

The dev's would have us believe most people "play both", or most people "play solo", but anyone with common sense know that any people playing "solo" are simply trying to rank up / farm bp on their own time, and the people who "play both" are just doing dailies/challeges. We even seen after the ruin changes, many people who did play Killer primarily - straight up and leave the game or start to primarily play Survivor. I know I certainly did.

Sorry to say, but the dailies are always more of what you play less. Literally to encourage people to play different roles.

Unbreakable doesnt have any requirement and can be used every time without any downside and that is really unfair of a balancing view.

    First chase: 60-120s max

    Camping: 120s max

    Total: 240s MAX

Gens (walking to them): 30s min

    Gens (3 people): 160s min

NOED (finding, and cleansing, 3 people): 80s min

    Total: 250s MIN

So its almost impossible to do "gens and bones" in a time that is required to camp 1 person, even for a very efficient team.

And if there is even ONE better totem spawn, or god forbid, its under the camped hook, we have guaranteed 2-3 kills for the camper with NOED.

BTW, can you tell me why do you even defend hard camping? Its like defending 4 man key escapes with DS+Unbreakble or Ebony Mori tunneling afer 1st hook

Lol touched a nerve I see.

Takes someone losing a lot or not getting ######### done to have to do the math to prove themselves right. If someone is getting camped, and you die to noed it's on you.

Killers dont start the game in a chase. They have to find someone. Meaning work gets done before even THAT. Notice a camper? Do gens. Look for bones. It's not hard.

Also, defending hard camping? I'm not. I'm stating how if they do hard camp, you have options to use other than complain, or throw yourself at them.

However, camping, tunneling, 4 key escapes and 4 mori are all part of the game. I'll defend using in game mechanics as the player sees fit. Camping is a strategy. Wether you like it or not. It also has disadvantages.

I dont have to 'defend' points of fact, or useable tactics. Because I'm not trying to prove anything to you or anyone, and dont care about the judgements towards me based on how I play. 🤷‍♀️

  • @Archimedes5000 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1117783#Comment_1117783

5x16=80 seconds. And thats without finding them, just cleansing.

And yes, I am concerned about over 80 seconds, its a time required to do OVER 1 GEN, ALONE, WITHOUT TOOLBOX. So yes, it matters.

Devs also say that current lags are ok, hitboxes are fine, Deathslinger doesnt require precision, DS is an anti tunneling perk, Legion had a bug for a year and they just didnt fix it, its not a bug that Thrilling Tremors pauses gen regression, Ruin is a "insidious" late game Hex perk, etc. I dont think that everything Devs say is right.

I dont want to remove NOED. I want it to be FAIR.

And FAIR means that you cant do nothing all game/ camp 1 person all game and then get 1/2 more kills because NOED. NOED is literally DS for killers.

My idea for NOED rework is: NOED can be used only on surviviors you have hooked before.

If you camp one person all game, and others die to noed, that's their fault.

Not doing gens or bones if a single camp ends the game.

  • If 2 or 3 dc over nothing, I'll farm with them.

If they stay slugged and dont DC while I kill the other 3 people running at me, I let them live.

Basically in a situation where i expect them to DC, but they dont. They get respect for that. And 95% of the time an escape.

On the other hand, if I'm trying to let someone live or do work, and they just keep wiggling and running, I'll kill them. They don't want my kindness, fine then lol.

  • @CountVampyr said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1117950#Comment_1117950

No, but if no gens have been fixed and the hatch hasn’t spawned yet, or you don’t know where it is, and you need Left Behind to find it, it’s a good strategy to wait until the killer finds it first and then reopen it while he is distracted patrolling the gates. That’s how I managed to do it.

Well yeah, but I thought the topic was when one person DCs to give the other hatch?

  • There will be a lot of slugging, resulting in a lot of unbreakable, then resulting in salt from both sides.

  • When I'm at a pallet, be it waiting, healing, or running, and I hit the button 3 or 4 times to throw it, but it doesnt go until or after I get hit, making the entire plan, ######### useless.

  • @CountVampyr said:

I guess they kind of asked for it by creating a stupid challenge like making people use two keys. I wouldn’t play like that but I understand the logic.

Except you cant use a key on an open hatch. So.

  • Yeah, and they get a ban for it now.

Also, why let it bother you? Any hatch escape is basically a 4k "but only 3k because they got an escape that prevents 45 min standoffs."

It's as simple as practice and taking the time to learn how to mind game the killer with out the red stain the same way that players have learnt to loop killers and mind game them and the same way killers have learned to mind game. It will just take time and practice to get good at it from both sides.

That's very arguable. Without the stain it literally becomes a guessing game of "are they doing what I think or not" and less of "can I get them to commit one way or another".

Beast of prey exists for a reason....

I'm not saying people couldnt adapt to it, just that it would upset more people than it would do good. Seeing where your opponent is going/looking makes it more thought out, skillful play.

And yes, spirit is different, but because it's literally her power, and while doing so, she cannot see the survivors. At all.

I just dont think removing the red stain would do nearly as much good as it would harm.

Didn't notice it before, thanks for pointing it out.

Firstly, the 'you survivors' comment is rather tribalistic, I get that tribalism is an innate human response, but if we are to evolve as human beings we need to be aware of our own short comings xD

The ruin nerf and survivors 'inability to deal' is in short, a cheap shot. It's like those out of context, politically motivated vids that get uploaded that are full of emotional triggers, its designed that way, to get you to respond.

His post is similar; meme worthy burn but doesn't consider the following:

Infinites gone, vaulting/perk/map/pallet nerfs, bloodlust added, end game timer added, hatch close added. All this has made being killer easier and survivor harder since release.

2 escapes, 2 kills is the devs unit of metric. You don’t have to like that but it’s whats given the survivors all their nerfs and all the killers current buffs.

Killers now are up around 70% kills due to the trajectory of the game and the devs metric system, unless you feel their metric system is bad, in which case they can undo all the changes I've just mentioned....

It's only been recently that killers have started getting significant push back from devs, such as the ruin nerf because the state of the game is disconnecting survivors who know a game is going to end in a 4k so why bother for 3k BP.

At lower tiers hex ruin was a trainwreck, survivors there are still trying to learn skill checks, let alone 'ruin checks' and trying to understand 'totem cleansing'. But if you think that 4k after 4k is a good idea to level against new survivors, then I have a bridge to sell you, because those killer smurf accounts were having a field day.

But what do we see? Thread after thread recently of killers whining about things like 'my poor hex ruin' and 'survivors cant deal'. Like I said, if you didn't like the metric, you should have started complaining years ago, not now. Otherwise you're left with cool edgy burns.

People talk about salty survivors a lot in this forum, but ignore the elephant in the room.

I love the "ruin is impossible for new players, they're trying to learn how the game works, take pity on them", arguments.

You know why? Because we (older players) have all been there, did it, and learned the ######### game.

I'm sorry if you feel new players need their hands held nowdays, but learning is part of it. It's not hard.

Side note, if these new survivors are struggling to understand bones and do skill checks, how is new ruin any better? They let go for ANY reason (and considering I still see people gen tapping, yes, its happening) they lose progress, and then, omg, have to do bones!

It's the same thing, just holding their hands now.

It's only become super obvious with the great skill checks challenge. SO MANY people are missing skill checks with it, it hurts. It means they STILL dont know how to do greats, because they were either never forced to learn (new ruin) or just refused to and cant (would do bones). People either learn or they dont. It has to do with them, not their new or old status.

But ya know what the new ruin DOES do? Make it stupid ######### easy for decent survivors to steamroll through gens. Plus we all look for bones anyway.

This forum is definitely killer sided, anyone with a brain can see that. It doesn’t make the majority opinions right or wrong mind you, but how can anyone actually deny that. That’s comical. I haven’t been been on reddit in a while, but that always trended more towards survivor, in large part because survivor opinions are bashed here so that’s where they have to go. Argue all you want, but it’s reality. This is home predominantly to killer mains. The same people denying that are the same who argue a streamer like Tru3 is unbiased because he plays both sides on steam. Come on now. He very heavily slants towards killer as does this forum, both just pretend to be neutral and unbiased 🙂

This is actually home mostly to people who play both sides, and when one who mains a single side comes up with dribble like that, is when people respond.

The only opinions really bashed are those that involve the side vs side drama. Because they're usually only coming from one side, and with no understanding of the other. Not enough people play both sides, so the opinions of an obvious main are less trusted.

    I say this as a 60/40 survivor. So...yeah. 🤷‍♀️

Still left wondering percentage wise how do map offerings work

Each one increases the chance of THAT map being chosen, but not stacking.

    1A, 1B, 1C, 1D. All have 25% chance to be chosen.

1A, 4B. All have 50% chance to be chosen.

Ita about how many different map offerings there are, not how many of each.

NOED needs changed. I don't know what those changes should be, though. It pretty much gives the killer a free kill for doing absolutely nothing. The killer could stand in the corner all game and still get NOED. It needs some changes.

It does less for free than rancor does.

It simply allows you to one down people, with a slight speed boost, if they DONT DO BONES.

Rancor cannot be stopped, and let's you see everyones locations, one down, and KILL your obsession.

You don't have to do anything for noed except pick it and play w 3 perks. It doesnt reward you, it punishes survivors who dont cleanse.

Legion is no meme, look at clown and bubba, especially bubba: On rush killer that never got a single change since its realease

And bubba still gets more 4ks than legion from what I see. Clown as well.

Clown can actually pressure and end loops. Legion just follows them and stuns themself or goes m1.

Bubba has an insta down charge, and punishes altruism. Legion hits everyone and then, takes a stun, or follows in m1.

  • Yall are acting like a hidden MMr is going to work any differently than the current rank system.

That's all rank is. Is a matchmaking tool.

Gonna be the same as usual, unless they change the "emblem/pip/what changes your mmr" system. If its based on the same goals, it changes nothing.

There's a lot of other older killers to change still

Yeah but a lot of older killers arent memes.

And I say that as someone who enjoys and plays legion.

True, but maybe they could add pre entered texts and all you have to do is pressing a certain combo to sent the message. Idk, for example R2+R1+square -> "killer on me"

Like smite VGS, actually not a bad idea. Survivors only use 2 of 4 dpad anyway. Have the other 2 be objectives,"work on gen, do bones, save from hook" and the other could be chase," killer on me, killer MIA, using god pallet". May actually be a potential solution.
