  • And yesterday I had a Bubba inisidous basement camp 2 survivors and then slug me and the second survivor on the floor until we bled out, without haven't done a single bad thing to him, but you don't see me complaining about killer toxicity on the forum???

Both sides have jerks, the best thing you can do is just ignore it and move onto the next game. If you give them a reaction, then you give these people exactly what they want.

  • @foxsansbox said:

There are killer challenges that require us to use god awful perks and playstyles, too. The Huntress ones generally stand out. Use Beast of Prey, get X # of melee swings with no hatchets on your belt.

I understand that survivors sandbagging teammates for these archives is a genuine issue, but I see a lot of comments that demonstrate they've clearly never actually looked at the killer archives.

I mean, that's a fair point too. That Huntress one, the Clown one, where you had give survivors yellow bottle and then purple (or opposite order, can't remember) and the Plague where you had to hit two survivors with Corrupt Purge twice in a trial were awful as well. But at least you're going in, knowing that you're gonna have to throw a bit to get your challenge. It's something you set yourself up for. When you do that as survivor, you're ruining the experience for 3 others.

At least for killers it's just Master Challenges that are odd, the others you get through normal gameplay without having to go out of your way to get it.

  • I feel like survivor challenges in general are pretty lacking. Killers you get done through normal gameplay (even though breaking 40 pallets/walls/gens, is kinda grindy). Meanwhile most of survivor challenges are second objectives (unhooks/bones, where they have to compete with each other), grindy (repair x gens by yourself, I prefer the "be alive while x generators get completed") or just wasting time not doing anything and probably sandbag your team (sabo, waste x amount of pallets while being chased, fall from great heights x times). Glyphs are also kinda bad, but I'll accept that since killers have those too.

Personally my favorite kind of challenges are Master Challenges, you have to do in 1 game. Some might be dumb, but at least doesn't require me to go out of my way to be useless to my team multiple games in a row.

  • I still don't understand why they added censorship. This game is 18+, you'd think anyone above 18 would be able to just ignore salty people and if they couldn't handle it, just turn off endgame chat.

Now there's just so many weird censored words. I'll never forget the time I was joking around with the killer and I had the words "Your mom" censored. What am I supposed to do if I can't even do kindergarten insults???

  • Man, I introduced a friend to the game like half a year ago. He's about 400 hours in, he got Kate P3 lvl 50 with her own perks, basic perks, Meg, Dwight, Claudette, Feng, Bill, David King, Elodie, Nancy, Steve and Cheryl perks. (They're all lvl 40)

And they wanted to start playing killer and now have every killer lvl 40, except Legion, which is lvl 50.

400 hours and just finished getting perks enough on all killers and have ONE single survivor with a lot of perks. I truly feel bad for new players, having to endure this grind and time investment they gotta put into the game, just to stand a chance with perks.

I guess it's more important for BHVR to change stuff like this that no one asked about than fixing Billy's buggy animations which have been there for ALMOST 2 YEARS and people have reported that many times already.

Man, i wonder why no one wants to plays Billy these days considering he's also free with the base game...

Man just think about all the Nurse bugs that's existed ever since her rework and they still haven't fixed them.

Really don't see why wishlist means anything, especially why it'll somehow kill dbd or something.

The games can literally co-exist, and of course new games get added to wishlists while it's being hyped

I was confused as well. 100k wishlisting it on Steam? Cool? DbD probably have more than that at all times if you count both PC and console players.

And it's not like all 100k are gonna stay playing the game.

  • I know at one point it was bugged and you had to do it backwards (back facing the killer as you point). But knowing Bhvrs spaghetti code, a lot of these challenges are probably bugged and can't be done

  • It's a killer challenge. I've seen many people confused, thinking they can do it as survivor.

Also if you are playing killer, you can use BBQ and it'll show the aura of the glyph

  • I'm gonna miss the hooks and the atmosphere and it was pretty one of the prettiest maps in the game. I still remember how awed I was when I loaded onto the map for the first time. Everything from the looks to the sounds were just spot on. I'm probably gonna miss the dropdown from upstairs the most. I have great memories of having survivors drop down on me from there.

Though, the map lacks windows, is full of pallets that can easily be bloodlusted and the upstair section is just a consistent deadzone and for killers, the upstair generator and portal room generators were both a pain to defend, so I spent most of my time as killer, playing like they didn't exist. Portal room gen was so safe and upstairs was just a waste of time to traverse to, especially if nobody was on it.

I'm gonna agree with this honestly.

The devs have created overall issues for the game, we all know that. However, killers have been saying for years 'just adapt' so now that survivors have, there's an even bigger issue at hand for killers to deal with.

There is issues but now I just imagine all the survivors telling killers to 'adapt' to how things are currently. Which imo, they kinda deserve lol.

I'm not a killer or survivor main but lately seeing all these whiny killers complain about everything, it's just making my survivor bias showcase.(I would actually usually see the killers perspective).

I've been a DbD player since 2017 and it's kinda funny to see how killers view on chases have changed. It went from "Looping is an exploit", to "Looping is an unintended game mechanic", to "Looping is OP", to "Looping has no counterplay", to "Looping is boring", to where it is now with dropping pallets early and holding W has no counterplay and is boring.

It's beginning to look a lot like the killer equalivent of survivors complaining about said killers that encourage the early drop and W meta, where they just get told to "adapt" and it's "balanced cause they lack 4v1 pressure"

  • I love Aftercare, but the only reason I don't use it is because you lose it when you get hooked.

I may be wrong, but I don't recall any other perks that require you to meet certain conditions to activate and then deactivates once you get hooked. Feels like an unecesarry drawback for a perk that isn't that strong in the first place. It's like if you lost all your Autodidact stacks if you got hooked. Both are perks that are alright at best once they reach their max potential.

  • Well, survivors have just adapted to all these anti loop killers, the devs have created. Ever since Deathslinger (with the exception of Blight) all killers released has had a ranged attack that can attack through pallets and windows, so looping is barely an option anymore. The optimal play is just to hold W and drop pallets early. It's boring, but that's the kind of playstyle the devs have begun to encourage with their recent killers.

  • Let me tell you, I read a post, which told how the box spawns in the beginning of the match and how it'll spawn everytime. Far away from my and about 16m away from survivors.

I tried running the build Lethal Pursuer, Ruin, Undying and BBQ with the two slowdown solve add ons. At the beginning I'd use Lethal to see survivors and use that information to see where the box will spawn. Solve it and they won't be able to do gens/totems due to chainhunt. If someone tries to solve it, I use my power to stop them. If I hook someone while chainhunt is active, then I can use BBQ information to figure out where the box spawned, due to survivor placement. Endless chainhunt + ruin and undying, makes it tough to progress the game.

On small maps, this setup is horrible to play against. Think I've only lost once using this built and it was on RPD.

  • @Thusly_Boned said:

SWF is OP as hell and is miserable to go against, but I rarely feel like actually I run into them. I think some people think they run into them but just rand into a team with 3-4 really good survivors. Kind of like people who say they ran into a tournament team; you almost certainly did not.

Yeah, a good SWF is totally unbalanced and almost unwinable, but a lot of killers like to blame everything on SWF instead of blaming themselves for making mistakes/not being as good as they think they are.

Played killer for almost 3 hours yesterday for challenges, before switching to survivor. First game was against a Bubba with Ruin, Undying, BBQ and Bamboozle. He was really bad at the game, just bamboozled windows, instead of trying to mindgame, revved at every pallet and kept hitting walls. With 3 gens left, he DC'd and in endgame chat kept talking about how we were a "No life SWF, who only play survivor, cause we know how broken and unbalanced survivors are compared to killers."

Issue was that we were 4 solo survivors. I went to check every profile. Killer had 1.2k hours. I have about 3.5k hours in the game, but I got chased for about a minute before he gave up and went for someone else, so I didn't have a huge impact on his decision to DC. The survivor he spent most time chasing had 100 hours, another had 600 hours and the last had 75 hours. No one were friends with each other. But this guy kept insisting we were a SWF sweat squad, instead of admitting he weren't as good as he thought, or that he made many mistakes. I guess it's just human nature to blame everything else but themselves.

  • @Wiitab360 said:

This is probably a stupid question but are you sure it's selected? I've have some issues recently were the game deselects tome challenges randomly.

100% sure it was selected. I managed to get it. Seems completely random if it'll give them points to you or not. Played another two games, where at least 1 person escaped before me and got 0 points and then the third game, I got 2 points despite being second to leave with 1 person dead and 1 still in trial.

  • I was being facecamped until death by a Pinhead because I cocked his Pop by using Blast mine into Repressed Alliance. He was so pissed he threw the game just to facecamp me and nod his head at me.

In endgame chat I wanted to joke about it and say "Easiest facecamp of my life" and it turned into "Easiest ########## ## ## ####" killer thought I was trashtalking him.

  • I mean, he got small compensation. He moves faster while aiming.

Though now he's gonna break the tradition of 4.4 killers having 28m terror radius and 4.6 having the usual 32.

  • I like her current face. With the concept art she looks so young and almost like a Kardashian. Now she looks older and more mature, like most TV hosts. Male survivors have a wide variety of age, but most females look like they're in their twenties, so imo it's nice that Jane looks like she could be in her mid or late thirties.

  • Please just remove the Basic Attack condition from Surge and make the cooldown like 20 seconds. That's the biggest killer perk buff I want.

For survivor, it'd probably be Off the Record. Love the perk, but it's duration is too short imo. Or some way to get tokens back on Distortion.

Help please, not work 60 or 120 fps, checking and reinstalling doesn't help.

Still not working, here is my video:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hHUMINgzwQ

    😥

Bamboozle only blocks a single window, if you block another then it'll disappear. It even status this in the perk description.

"Only one Vault location may be blocked this way at any given time."

  • I use BBQ, Enduring, Spirit Fury and Brutal Strength on my Pig and Wraith, who needs slowdown when you can just not care about pallets?

    Against 5?

Damn, I knew the entity was against the killers.

Still waiting on part 2 of the dev update but I won’t get my hopes up that keys will be in it.

My guess is news about Boon Totems and possibly a Haddonfield graphical update, in the spirit of Halloween

  • I'm not 100% sure, but I think around when the Clown rework came out people suggested that his yellow and pink bottles should have different ammo pools and the reason against it from a dev was that "it'd be too confusing for players to keep track of"

  • An oversight that came with the latest pallet update, that doesn't allow you to stun the killer if you're on the same side as them. Makes it a gamble whether or not Power Struggle will help you or not.

Are you sure the challenge works when you save other survivors and not yourself? Its wording says otherwise in my language.

Behaviour have never really been good with their phrasing, especially when it comes to non-english languages. It just says to stun the killer while it's carrying a survivor, while using Power Struggle. Never that it has to be yourself. I can't test it out myself though, since I'm waiting for Engineers Guild challenge to get fixed, so I can save up challenges, so I haven't gotten to it yet. I just know that DS works, cause a friend did it that way and I assume Head On will work, since you save a survivor and stun the killer.

Just wondering if you'd at all know if getting a flashlight save or head on save would count?

I assume Head On would work, since you save the survivor AND you stun the killer, kinda like a pallet save. I don't think flashlight saving gives you the killer stun event.

  • Equip Power Struggle and Decisive Strike, if you manage to DS the killer, then it still counts towards the challenge

  • It's due to the new thing where you can't stun the killer if they're on the same side as you. An oversight the devs didn't see when making the change.

  • I used to play in a 4 man SWF without comms. It's my prefered way to play survivor, it's quiet and relaxing. No communication, but you know that your teammates are competent in chases and wouldn't let you die on first hook.

Though, the group fell apart cause they got bored of the whole slowdown meta, and my other SWF group only wanna play with comms, so we can chat about stuff, while we play.

  • Not even his sword would have as long a range as Freddy

  • Thank you so much for your help. I'm too stupid to figure out paths, especially this time I didn't even try, cause there were too many options. XD Too bad the one challenge we need is bugged, so looks like I won't be able to do challenges until it's fixed

  • @Jasix said:

Alert: It is a staple in my survivor build. I get more info from it than I do other information perks imo.

I play 50/50 so that means a lot of survivor. Back when I needed BP to unlock perks etc I always ran We're Gonna Live Forever - it helped with getting people off ground faster and with BP. I still think it is a great perk for players who need BP and want to play survivor.

Soul Guard: This is a great perk in my opinion. I play solo survivor 98% of the time and people will try to get you up while the killer is coming towards you - well no problem with Soul Guard.. get up run at killer.. get hit...get that 8 second Endurance effect and the speed boost when the killer hits you. Also a great perk against Hex perks - especially NOED in the end game. This perk is fun to run with Unbreakable and Tenacity. That combo has saved me and allowed me to escape numerous times.

Alert is so underrated. You get knowledge where the killer is, and where pallets are broken, so you can avoid running over there during chase. Too bad it's also painful to see your solo teammates use like 10 pallets within a span of a minute.

For killer I think Hex: Retrubution is pretty underrated. I like to pair it with Undying and Haunted Grounds. 10 seconds of aura reading so you know where to go to use your Haunted. If you're lucky you get to do it twice a match, if the surv don't cleanse Retribution or Undying first.

  • Can confirm. Just had a game where I did 2 gens with people and still at 0

  • It's funny, I just introduced a friend to the game last week and literally their second match this happens. Huntress left everyone to bleed out for no reason. And there's a lot of tunneling going on. She didn't understand why I like the game. (:

  • Changing requirement for number of hooks is easier than changing the whole key and hatch mechanic. One is changing a single number from 1 to 2, the other requires they look at keys, key add ons, hatch etc

Edit: It'll get changed eventually, but Behaviour ain't exactly known for being fast

  • @GrimoireWeiss said:

I'm just going to say a survivor running from the corner of the map to another benefits the killer. Not seeing the aura would make survivors stay more on gens and, even when Chain Hunt activates, chances are you'd have lost a couple of gens. It's kind of like when people suggest that Jigsaw Boxes from Pig shouldn't be visible until the trap is active, they don't realize they're shooting themselves on the foot.

This. I was playing Pinhead on Swamp and the box kept spawning at the edge of a map and a Meg always left gens and teammates on hook to go do the box. It was basically a 3 v 1. It's a free slowdown tool that'll keep some survivors from doing the objective. If there was a range people would just do gens until chainhunt started

  • @Anara said:

I love power struggle I hope it will get fixed...

Same here. It was situnational and barely does anything like 90% of the time, but when you got to use it, it could be game saving :c

  • It just looks like Last Year 2.0. But instead of fighting the killer while doing objectives that lead you to escaping, you just fight the killer and that's your whole objective. Content creators seem to be overhyping it on Twitter, even Home Sweet Home: Survive had a bigger chance of being a DbD competitor, if the devs weren't totally braindead and moneyhungry.

Artstyle just looks bad and the animations look clunky.

  • @DelsKibara said:

I agree with one of the commentors on Reddit. This seems to be a "fix" for their new hit validation forcing Killers on the other side of the pallet when you reverse stun then previously.

God, this hit validation just needs to be removed.

I'm mostly happy with the validating, especially when I play survivor. I've felt it a few times as killer but not that often. I even had a game where killr walked through a pallet, I dropped it like as soon as he walked to it and it just pushed him back and didn't stun him or let me escape. :/ Guess from now on you have to wait till the killer is exactly in the middle of a pallet before using Power Struggle.

  • Same thing that happend to Soul Guard, For the People, Counterforce etc, people make a big fuss over a mediocre perk. All these perks "SWF were gonna abuse". Same with killer side, I remember Starstruck also causing a bit of a fuss.

  • Yeah, it's kinda weird how the consistently reworked one or two realms for a while and now it's been... 3 updates with no rework?

It's funny cause the last couple realms that need a graphical update only have 1 or 2 variations

  • Gonna assume Lisa and Cybil get during the midchapter, since Cheryl is getting another legendary

  • Anything about Cheryl skins!?

  • Well, good thing is that you know the survivor doesn't have BT on them. Down them and slug them, Deliverence even has a timer for you to see when you can pick them up.

People really overestimate the amount of time it takes to give him stalk to infinite tier three. It really isn't that long

Please stop acting like survivors need to be out of LOS permanently against Myers when that's unrealistic. They're going to be seen and it's dramatic to pretend that it takes ages to get infinite tier three when it doesn't. Especially putting on slowdowns as Myers makes infinite tier 3 a walk in the park unless it's a map like The Game or Léry's

Yeah, I don't get it. I did Infinite Tier 3 three games in a row to do the "Hit 12 exposed survivors" challenge and both times I got Tier 3 with 5 gens left and my only slowdown was Corrupt. One was on Lery's, another Ormond and third was Ironworks with plenty of obstacles and walls. If it was Infinite + Tombstone, then I can understand people saying it takes forever, but Infinite is just like full stalk on 2 survivors.

It’s weird how Nurse and spirit are the only killers where there special attacks count as basic attacks

Same with Deathslinger. Despite putting people in deep wound, it counts as a normal attack, cause perks like NOED still work if you shoot someone and reel them in

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 18
