but ultimate edition doesnt give me silent hill as well either right ? thats another licensed i need to buy separated
Correct ye
Ultimate doesn't have any of the licenses included, so Silent Hill would have to be bought seperately
-
I doubt it, usually noed only gets the killer 1 kill, maybe an extra one if they had someone dead when the last gen popped
I don't think it's super common for a killer to get a 4k purely from NOED
-
I'm of the opinion you shouldn't need to do these things to be good with Blight and people shouldn't be considered less skilled if they aren't interested in these techs, exploits, tricks - whatever you personally see them as

hi bones first thank you for answering that helped me a lot, im just starting on the game yes still leveling my first killer and got my survivor to 50 yesterday ( still dont have lvl 3 perks i want), im willing to spend money on the game because i like it, and i will buy the licensed content as well, so if i get the ultimate edition do i get all the survivors and killers that arent licensed ? i just want to buy everything but im trying to find out the best "path" to do it, since they have those 2 bundles but also sell each one of them separetely, so i dont want to buy "doubles", also im currently playing on xbox game pass, if i buy the steam version do i keep my progress ?
Yeah with Ultimate Edition you'll get every Survivor and Killer up until All-kill (Trickster)
There's only 4 killers after him, which would be:
Nemesis, Cenobite, Artist and Onyro
Artist is an original so you can get her with shards, the rest are all licenses that are standalone
There's also 1 standalone original character who's not included which is Mikaela but you can also get her with shards if need be.

Let me point out the issues with "spreading out"
- You have to do 1 to 2 center gens or you get 3 gened. The best time to do those gens is in the beginning, where the game has 4 survivors in it, then can make risky plays.
- Survivors have no way to know if they are spread out enough without Bond or an SWF.
- Legions Terror radius covers 1/3 of most maps, so Legion basically has to get unlucky to not find a second survivor. Basically, a survivor has to be in another survivors location and Legion has a 1 in 2 chance of running to that location, on most maps. If the survivors are split up equally, then Legion will be able to find all the survivors on most flat maps and some of the 2 story maps, such as game.
1) The center gens can get done when the legion is forced to commit to somebody for an m1 down, if you don't let him get a frenzy down he quite literally has to chase normally at which point he is m1 killer man with no power
2) Survivors if they are playing well should be working on 3 diff gens at once while somebody is being chased, that is usually the most optimal way to spread out
3) As soon as you hear the terror radius, you should be running away from it so if he hits somebody close by, you don't get detected. If you hear the TR approaching you then you should also start running instantly and go far away or go to a corner to make sure their power runs out

Hello, so
'Ultimate edition' is the base game + every original chapter up until the Trickster. This doesn't include any of the licensed characters such as Michael Myers, Freddy, Pyramid Head etc - you need to buy those individually
The silent hill edition is the base game + 6 original dlcs (Hag, Doctor, Clown, Spirit and some extra cosmetics for the original characters) as well as the silent hill DLC and a cosmetic for Pyramid head is bundled alongside it
it's worth remembering any original character can be acquired for free with a lot of in-game playtime as they are purchaseable with one of the ingame currencies you earn. It does take a while to get enough for a character, though but it's very possible if you play a lot
Either way you're gonna need to shell out money for licensed content. I'd say if you're just getting started, the ultimate edition might be your best bet as it has so much content bundled into it and you can always pick/choose the licensed characters you're willing to fish out additional money for and get the newer original chapters with in-game currency instead.
The silent hill edition isn't worth the extra money, imo - you get so much more with the ultimate, going by the prices you listed here that is - it's different for me since I'm in EU

What the hell is this thread
A thread about fictional characters or some kind of existential debate thread
-
I miss Hawkins.
It had a good atmosphere to it, what it lacked in strong tiles it had a bunch of structures you could mindgame or waste a killers time in if played correctly
Always a shame to lose content from a game you like really 😔
-
This isn't a bug
Generators that are blocked by the Entity cannot lose progress, this is an intended design decision confirmed by the devs a while ago
-
I think with the latest update they disabled being able to change the config files at all
Not sure if it's intentional or not, we've not been given any info about it yet. I'd say maybe wait to see if there's a hotfix on the upcoming tuesday - maybe they'll re-enable config editing again.

I just meant their current versions.
I've heard about their pasts, but I can't understand how anyone would think they're free kills in DBD's current state.
Oh, right
In that case - the only explanation I can think of as to why somebody might think they are "brainless easy wins" is simply because their powers don't require a huge amount of skill (As in it's not like nurse where you need to master it) but
These two killers still lose to pre-dropping meta perk survivors who play well and split up so I wouldn't say that's "an easy win" at all tbh.
-
I've used Breakdown/had friends use it semi recently and the hooks didn't stay permanently gone in those games so up until the mid chapter it was fine, maybe it's bugged again
TBF tho 3 minutes in dbd time feels like an eternity so maybe it's just the amount of time they stay gone making it feel super long

I'm more how confused how anyone thinks Wraith or Freddy is somehow a free win.
Anyone with any amount of situational awareness won't have an issue with either any more than any other killer.
Before his nerfs, people said Freddy stacking his two gen slowdown addons and 4 gen defense perks was a brainless easy win. At one point I probably would have agreed, but looking back my opinion was based more on boredom/being sick of facing it over and over - something that I've tried not to base my opinions on too much lately.
As for Wraith, It was a similar thing, some people found him really obnoxious due to the default increased speed and the extended lunge which got nerfed and led to what we have today
I think the big thing was overexposure - People (Like myself as an example) would face Wraith and Freddy like 3-4 times in a row and it got old really fast. In a similar vein to how killers hate seeing 4 DHs if that makes sense.
My opinions on those two have def shifted. I actually enjoy facing Freddy and Wraith these days.

They could have made that DLC and donate a % of what they made with it to an LGBT organization. Also technically you can still get the character with shards since it's original.
Fair point but my counter point would be
That's not what people were asking for.
People were asking for representation in the game, not for BHVR to do charity work on behalf of a particular community. If BHVR ever does do something along those lines, all the power to them but saying they could have done something that people weren't asking them to do is a bit odd

Being real, I believe you mean Peanits response right? Read like an excuse.
Them highlighting they didn't want it to be paid just kinda excuses them from doing free content for a survivor and making a new one. Even if it was paid, I'd think higher of it. It would show they put in more work than choosing a character and simply expanding their lore to make it make sense.
I mean they dedicated an entire tome to it, it's not like the twitter post they made was the only thing they did
IDK I just don't see it as that big of a deal. I get that some people think the way they went about it was poor and I have mixed feelings on it, I'd have prefered it if they had just let people read the lore and realise it themselves but I guess they were proud of it/wanted to let people know since this is something they are asked on a very frequent basis
-
Is camping someone to death to secure a kill toxic?
...Wait, don't answer that...
No but for real, it's not toxic inherently. It can actually be a smart play if you know what you're doing (Killer has pop, you force them to come all the way to your gen and then you finish it - wasting their time)

I don't see the need to assume bhvr would've made a cliche if they had made a new character.
One of the community managers talked about how he (and I'm sure many of his colleagues) wouldn't have felt right about the first lgbt character being locked behind a DLC that you're expected to pay for
If anything that would just make it look like BHVR is trying to just profit off of the whole thing, instead of actually giving a damn about it
Whether you like the decision they made or not, at least it's not something they expect you to pay for. Hell, one thing I respect BHVR for is making the pride charms optional. You can just not redeem them if you're not interested, despite some people crying about it being ""forced"""

Instead of nerfing legion, we could make nurse 115 with 5 blinks to bring her up to legion's level of power instead. With good addons she may even be able to compete with wraith.
Let's give Trapper a shotgun while we're at it too
I think that would be very beneficial to his kit and appeal to a new demographic of players
-
Preference is based on the killer, at least in my opinion
Enduring is better for killers who can shred through pallets or have powers that incentivize you to not respect pallets overall - Demo, Bubba, Nemesis.
Brutal Strength is nice for killers who are weak to pre-dropping pallets which is most M1 killers and some projectile killers. Typically you don't want to give the survivor stuns when playing these killers and simply knowing in your mind that "if he doesn't drop i get a hit here" is enough to avoid the stun and break the pallet quickly

I'm sorry but those unreasonable requests. It be like being put in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and saying all you have to do is swim and you won't drown.
Pallets don't work. It shouldn't be a miracle for everyone is on a large map all spread out. It just hardly happens in practice.
Run bond or empathjy
If you see a yellow aura, run away from it

An anti-gen tunneling perk. Something like each time a gen reaches 50% progress it gets blocked for 30 seconds. This can only trigger once per gen.

Survivors should not be standing around idle during a chase I am sorry. Maybe for a second or two to check a corner and that is it. Any more and that is on you as the killer, even as an M1 killer.
If they throw a pallet, and are walking around to get the perk back while you kick it, any distance they would have gained just going to the next tile is negated
Maybe it's because I run bamboozle on my M1 killers. There is no messing around or mindgaming for 10 years or anything like that. It's throw the pallet or die.
It's not a debate whether they should or shouldn't. It happens, good players do it and I'm not saying I'm good but I do it because I know a lot of the killers I go against don't just follow me in a straight line they shake up their movement. Be it with mindgames, moonwalks or other tactics that I try to look out for.
Here's a classic example:
You're chasing at shack
Survivor is going for the window, so you decide to go to where they would be after they vault but they don't - they stand still and watch you and either don't vault or fast vault last second.
Stuff like that adds up.

I agree with you that Dead Hard is the only actually problematic exhaustion perk. Not that Sprint Burst and Lithe and such are bad, they're good perks, but Dead Hard is really two very good effects that could each be their own perk bundled into one mega perk. The distance effect alone is so strong many people post that that's the main reason they use it in the first place, but then on top of that it has that great extra benefit of being able to dodge attacks in case of emergency solely based on animations. Moreover the stats seem to indicate Dead Hard is not just the most popular survivor perk (almost half of survivors use it) but also there's seemingly a stronger correlation between Dead Hard and escapes than other popular meta perks too. Even the devs commented relatively recently that they weren't happy with Dead Hard's numbers after reviewing how it's functioning since hit validation went into effect, and it's pretty unusual for them to negatively comment on specific perks unless they're already seriously considering adjusting them.
That said, though, Exhaustion as an effect is obviously pretty handy since, regardless of Dead Hard, it can prevent any other Exhaustion perk from being used too. It would be nice to have at least one other perk that causes it than the two that currently exist, if only for variety sake. (And I might be wrong but Blood Echo definitely seems like it's on the weak side, at least on most killers.)
Completely agree with everything you've said
I just worry that people who want more anti-exhaustion stuff forget that it would also effect people using perks like Lithe and such. Also Blood Echo might be a bit more bearable since the hemmorage buff, I've not had the chance to test it yet

I don't know which M1 killers you are playing but it's not something that bothers me anymore. Clown it barely impacts half the time, especially since they are slowed enough they can dead hard your swing and it actually will still hit them.
I also don't know what you are doing in a chase but a survivor should never have time to walk for 5 seconds. Period. They throw pallets, vault windows, or die when I am chasing people.
Last time I played Wraith I was cheesing with mindbreaker and blood favor and was collecting totally free downs at generators until BF got cleansed.
I have so many exhaust addons on ghostface I will probably never see a DH again on him.
I play lots of Bubba and survivors using DH is actually a buff since they just get chainsawed at full health instead of having an actual useful exhaustion perk.
And finally, I play lots of Blight and he doesn't care 1 bit about DH. I would argue you need it to even have a prayer against him at some loops.
It is very easy to stand still for small periods of time during chase, I do it all the time. Period. (I guess?)
You can wait at the corners of structures to see which direction the killer is approaching from (Example: Killer shack), you can stand still at certain spots in basic tiles (Example: You can wait at the pallet in Jungle Gyms) or you can wait in locations that have vaults the killer has to take to keep following (Example: The dropdown in Meat plant)
Standing still and waiting is a tactic very strong survivors will use as a countermeasure to killer movements. Some survivors just keep moving and never stop and that's how they either get mindgamed or get cutoff by good killer pathing.
-
Here's an idea:
Corrupted Glyphs.
Essentially a perk that only becomes activated if the killer finds a glyph and activates it - then the perk is on until survivors find the glyph and 'close' it.
What's the difference between this and hex perks? 2 things:
The gyphs wouldn't be static, they would move around the map and the killer would know where they are at all times whereas survivors would only recieve periodical information (if any at all) on their whereabouts.
They also wouldn't be gone after being closed once, the killer would have to reopen it, so to speak.
-
@OpenX said:

The perks, killers, addons, and playstyles needed to counter DH are already in the game. Whether or not you choose to utilize them is up to you. Some day people will stop complaining and think, hmmm, maybe cutting a chase 30-40 seconds shorter because I used mindbreaker is an option instead of scourge hook pain res + DMS?
But knowing these forums, that day will never come. It is easier to stack meta perks and complain instead of thinking for themselves.
That's just not true though, I'm sorry to say
Mindbreaker's exhaustion can be walked off in the middle of a chase very easily. Especially, once again against M1 killers.
All a survivor has to do is go around a corner or drop a pallet and there you go - their third health state is back. Hell I could make the argument it helps people using Sprint Burst more than it actually hinders them.
All exhaustion related addons have been nerfed, too - a change which while I agree with, limits options.
My opinion: Dead Hard is the problem, not exhaustion perks. Getting hit with a Lithe or a Balanced landing doesn't feel anywhere close to the level of cheap as DH does and I'm someone who thinks Dead Hard is borderline required against certain killers due to how oppressive their powers are.
-
@OpenX said:

I dunno, most M1 killers have fine ways to deal with DH.
All stealth killers can use mindbreaker very effectively, since they can start chases right at the generators.
Legion can use blood echo since he injures everyone for free anyways.
Myers is just 1 shotting people. Ghostface has straight up exhaust addons now, and he is 1 shotting people.
Pig has exhaust helmets. Trapper...well he should be getting downs with traps in theory then camping the hook.
Clown's slowdown can negate DH for distance a lot of the time.
I think the only one who really gets screwed by it would be doc. The rest have a pretty good answer, it's just if the killer players can tear themselves away from 4 slowdowns and use a different perk instead of whining about exhaustion lol
I think the people who primarily play M1 killers (Like myself) would highly disagree with you that they can "just deal with" DH. DH hurts m1 killers the most out of any type of killer in the game
And you talk about 4 slowdown perks but you gotta remember 4 slowdown perks on an m1 killer is not the same as 4 slowdown perks on Nurse or Blight. You can run 4 gen defense related perks on Trapper and get stomped pretty easily

Sadly, it's never, ever going to happen. BHVR has not yet given any killer that level of rework in the history of the game, and likely never will.
Well they did, one time
Freddy.
A rework that in hindsight made him strong but boring. (Subjectively)
-
I've got a few random ideas
One thing would be either changing an existing perk or making a new one that inflicts exhausted to survivors who take protection hits. This punishes altruistic survivors and makes them an easier target for you to switch to at the same time
I don't know if this would be good something like Forced Penance because I think some ppl really dig the broken status effect but yeah I think it would be really good for m1 killers who struggle with survivors who are smart and take hits
-
I love stuff like this, thanks for taking the time to make it
Interesting results too, you did better with an aura reading build than a build that had ruin/undying or spirit fury/enduring in it.
-
A tome is a collection of challenges that you can complete to be rewarded with bloodpoints, rift fragments and lore
rift fragments level up the Rift, every tome comes with a limited time Rift (Think of it like a DBD battlepass) and there's a free track and a paid track, however the paid track will give you all 1000 auric cells back once you complete it, meaning you may only need to buy 1 rift pass and you can get the next one and the next one etc etc
-
I think a couple of the addons were misguided, in particular the one that refills your power after breaking a pallet
Undropped pallets are legions biggest weakness because they can knock him out of his power and forcing them to wait for it to come back.
Maybe also adding some kind of visual or sound que that Legion's frenzy hit is the downing one might go a long way? It doesn't change his actual strength but it provides survivors that 'oh crap' que so they can make some kind of play

See now this actually angers me hearing this dude say "we're working on it right now we've got designs in the pipeline" two years ago. Seriously Behavior get a grip two freaking years to add an option seriously and you wonder why you get criticism all the time.
Yeah I mean like, I'm not gonna get mad at Patrick or anything because I imagine working for BHVR is a very turbulent thing sometimes, like I imagine they have like a billion things they wanna do and it just doesn't happen. It's why we don't get 'promises' like this anymore because people get upset (Rightfully so, of course)
Then again they work like 3 chapters ahead of where the game currently is so idk
But hey, this confirms that being able to disable it was something that was given the okay since they brought it back, so hopefully come the next hotfix they rectify this instead of leaving us hanging.

Isn't the game balanced around everyone having similar graphics settings? I would think being able to, for example, see a survivor/killer from across the map would be unfair if it were due to modifying game settings.
Anti-aliasing doesn't change what you can actually see
It just makes what you can see blurry as hell
If I can see a nemesis running at me from across the map, I'd rather be able to actually see him properly instead of him being super blurry until he's right next to me
