Yes but also No:
Generators that are blocked cannot lose progression, supposedly some perks put the generator into a 'regressing' state but it will only begin to lose progress once it is unblocked. Perks such as Pain res and Deadlock target the generator with the most progress that is unblocked at the time of its activiation, meaning it will skip any gens that are blocked at that time
Pain res will hit the gen with the most progress that is unblocked, so if a Survivor is on a gen when thrilling triggers - pain res will likely hit that gen.
-
It should.
It should also Increase hatch closing speed as well
why not right?
-
Overexposure after a lengthy period of the killer being rare and/or weak
Same thing happened with Wraith, and Freddy
Although I think Wraith and Freddy had an issue or two, I don't think they deserved hard nerfs. Some small tweaks, sure. I think the same of Legion as I find a few of their addons to be weirdly designed like Never Sleep Pills or Julie's Mixtape for example but overall they are perfectly fine in my opinion
-
Her power is effectively Trapper/Hag levels of loop denial on steroids
Her cooldown after launching a crow is short enough that she can also land a follow up hit really quickly. Even faster with a yellow addon
-
I think condemnation is a very half baked mechanic that they made super weak intentionally because being able to mori a survivor who's not even been hooked yet is not exactly fair. Look at Tombstone piece for a perfect example
Pyramid Head still has to get through the two hook 'states' before he can mori you and you have to be tormented on top of that
I just don't quite understand it's purpose. It's not there to keep survivors busy with a side objective because you can ignore it 90% of the match. It's not there to give counterplay to Sadako's mobility, because when she uses it it shuts the TV off anyway for a very long time.
So what is the purpose of it? Thematics, I think. They wanted some way to incorporate the '7 days' part of Ringu. I don't blame them but the mechanic itself is extremely underwhelming and needs to serve more of a purpose. For the longest time I didn't know that while carrying a tape you could turn off multiple TVs in exchange for condemned - why would you ever do that?
-
The issue I have with stuff like basekit BT and so on is how much it would penalise killers who only resort to camping/tunnelling when they feel like they will lose if they don't do it/they feel like its the best play at the time
There are people who go into matches aiming to tunnel and camp from the start but many killers don't do that but will do so if they feel it's what they need to do to win.
There's also instances where the Killer is forced to camp, I.E someone being hooked inbetween a 3 gen. You are actively throwing the game if you don't camp that hook if you see what I mean
I will say though, in many of my recent matches I've noticed a lot more Killer players are punishing survivors if they don't unhook quickly. If survivors don't go for the save because the Killer is close, then they are way more likely to just force stage 2 or force a trade and while coordinated teams will take the trade, solo Q teams are usually not up to the task
-
Yeah it's pretty good

But you cannot do it IN chase. You have to have all that prepped before the chase begins. If you come around a corner and see a Survivor, there's nothing you can do except play the weakest M1 game imaginable.
But you CAN make chases shorter with it. A full minute of exposed is a big deal
So my point about all killers (Except Sadako) have something that either shortens chases OR helps you in chase in some way or another still holds water imo. Hell some killers have both, some don't
Yes, Ghostface without Night Shroud/Marks is m1 man. Myers without T3 is M1 man with a slightly faster vault and smaller TR.
-
@WesCravenFan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939005#Comment_2939005
Disagree. Ghostface is totally helpless. The best he can do is try to Night Shroud, which for some reason you can just break by looking over your shoulder. You would have to ALSO be marked for this to matter.
Marking people and insta downing them = A shorter chase
Therefore his power can help shorten chases.
This is the same with Myers as well, I classify it as a 'chase shortener' power. It doesn't help you against things like pallet loops but it does make a chase shorter. 99ing survivors with ghostface also gives him a decent defensive option too
Killers who have the potential to instadown also create deadzones faster as survivors won't be able to get as much out of their resources, theoretically
Sadako has none of this, her mobility is good but it doesn't make up for the weak chase game.
-
Sadako's biggest design flaw is she is the only killer in the game who has no power that helps in chase whatsoever
Every other killer does (In one way or another)
The only thing that helps her in chase are the manifesting invisiblity period (Which isn't really that useful) and being able to demanifest to phase through bodyblockers

Okay...they made a character gay because they wanted to make a gay character. I think that's the proof. And do note it's been revealed they didn't only look at David..they also looked at the other Survivors to see which they wanted to make gay...they just decided David would become gay.
While I'm sure I won't really agree with you, I want to try and clear up what your point is so I can better understand
Is your point that, you think BHVR picking a character from their roster instead of creating a new one from scratch was a bad idea because in your opinion that wasn't the intention when the character was conceptualised, so you find it to be insincere as opposed to a new character designed with those characteristics from the start
Is that right or did I miss something?

So are you saying Nurse is too OP without Dead Hard? Because currently with her range add ons good luck getting to juke her.
I'm not saying Nurse is too OP
I'm saying Dead Hard is one of the few perks you can use that you'll actually notice has a major impact and actually helps you in a chase against her
Can you really say the same about most other perks, the other exhaustion perks feels useless against a Nurse. Key word being 'feels' because I'm sure if you're good enough you could make it work, but I certainly can't find a way to use Smash Hit against a nurse

Too true
Also you turned my notifications german LOOL
-
To me the worst part about it is
It's one of the only few perks that gives survivors an edge against the stronger killers like Nurse
But in doing so it can completely cripple M1 killers. Not always, but very often. Which is just sad because M1 killers have it tough as it is
-
I think if you can get logs that might be helpful?

Since the patch dropped, hooks don't seem to be functioning properly. I can't speak for the second stage self-unhook bug anymore, but players' hook stages are not being marked when they progress to second stage via being left on hook or failing to struggle free, which leads to survivors appearing to be instantly sacrificed on their second hook. I've seen this happen twice today where a player who was shown to be on their first hook died upon being hooked. I was never able to see the players' timers for myself (I was either the killer or being chased), but one of the matches in question had a TTV killer, and watching the footage from the other end made things more clear. I also observed two players never hit second phase despite never being unhooked. They were shown to be on stage 1 all the way until the timer bottomed out and they were sacrificed.
It seems that the issue is that while the stage progression is being internally recorded, the display elements aren't getting updated when a survivor has been left on hook - it doesn't show up on the survivor HUD, that player's sacrifice timer, or the killer's hook counter, but they still are treated as having hit the struggle phase and will die the next time they're hooked despite all indicators being to the contrary.
Edited for clarity of where the problem is (since players aren't actually dying before they should, it just looks like they are.)
Like mandy said somewhere in this thread

If I see 3 flashlights, I welcome it. Flashlights are so weak if you know what you're doing
If I see 3 toolboxes, I shrug - Gens go quickly by default. On the other hand, they might be a sabo squad and personally I enjoy the back and forth with sabo squads.
If I see 3 medkits, I'm filled with dread. It's probably gonna be a tough game
Nobody brings 3 keys anymore and nobody ever brings a map

Congrats!
Did you ever have a character that you didn't want to prestige because you had an abundance of cakes? That's the boat i'm in right now

Like it's really dumb I don't know where the feeling comes from, the map just doesn't feel right to me, for some reason.

Thanks for sharing, it must be difficult to type something this personal and private up to essentially an audience of complete strangers
I'm glad to hear DBD can have such a positive impact on people's lives, as much as it can be a frustrating game a lot of the time - it's still very important and It's amazing that BHVR can provide you with even more reasons to love the game
Also Milo is amazing, thanks for blessing us with him!
-
I don't know how correct Hens is about MMR numbers, caps and so on but one thing Hens is 100% completely right about - The most 'optimal' playstyles are really boring for both sides. His biggest example of huntress, her most optimal playstyle is securing a kill via camping then snowballing in the 3v1
I'm not gonna lie, in many of my recent killer matches I've started out trying to play normally but then I've had to adapt my playstyle on the fly and either tunnel someone out or camp a dude on second stage to death. I know it's not fun but sometimes I feel like that's the only way I stand a chance of winning.
Maybe playing to win is the problem but again, 'playing for fun' as killer usually means a really quick match and a nice tbagging session in the exit gate.
-
His snare placement might just be bugged, I've noticed it's really hard to place snares in a lot of places at the moment
There was a bit on otz's stream where he was playing freddy on haddonfield and he could barely place snares anywhere

Just because you might be desensitised or just straight up not bothered by the stuff people say, it doesn't mean it's alright for it to happen
Some dude called me cancer for winning as Freddy once. It didn't bother me but I'd still rather not have people going around telling each other to die. Not exactly the kind of community I'd wanna be part of. It's also entirely possible it could've been said to someone who it would've bothered y'know?

Uh, have you read their posts? They are expressly against it because of some moronic "lack of choice" for something they don't even have to use.
No, I just think a player having a choice is better.
If it were to be default, fair enough but I think BHVRs decision to make it a choice is much better and respectable.

Corporate pandering and you idiots eat it up believing an entity that probably only cares about money and shareholders cares about you and representing you? If they actually cared it wouldn't be so lazy and half-arsed. This company doesn't care about its playerbase, much less as an extension, sub-groups in it's playerbase. It's more face saving business talk we've seen a thousand times before by companies.
Not really corporate pandering considering it's free content, the game had a LGBT following (and more importantly request for representation) years before this happened
Also have you read the lore? I don't see what's so lazy/half-arsed about it, they clearly put way more effort into it than they did previous tomes considering it's length

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935445#Comment_2935445
Okay, so you have no excuses other than you support bigots. Glad to know. Thanks for letting me know engaging with you further on this is a waste of time, since you aren't going to bother giving even a single reason for something you can so easily say isn't bigotry. LMAO 🤡
Someone not agreeing with you doesn't make them a bigot
But hey think what you want, you're clearly very good at that
-
@SuzuKR said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935421#Comment_2935421
Because bigots shouldn't get a say in inclusivity. The current method BHVR is doing it is not that inclusive, given it gives the option to actively refuse it. You gonna give a reason or are you going to quit pretending you have any excuses? Should be so easy to give a reason right? Given how obsessively you are defending the ability to actively deny it.
"Gives the option to actively refuse it"
Yeah I remember when I loaded in, I got a prompt that said "Do you support LGBT, Click yes for the charm and click no if you're a bigot"
I think BHVRs way of doing it is perfectly fine, that's all I have to say since you're clearly very set in your ways, refuse to see anyone else's point of view or think I'm a bigot for simply thinking putting a choice in the player's hands is a respectable one, not something to be changed.
@Lochnload_exe said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935421#Comment_2935421
I never said anything about being a bigot, I just said it isn't even an important choice lol it is literally a charm, you aren't forced to wear it, just like you aren't forced with the large variety of other free charms given out.
I am not calling you a bigot whatsoever, but the argument standing you are taking does look bad. It is just a discussion asking for something that should've just been base (as many games have things like even country flags as base), it isn't a fight against freedom of choice lmao it is helping players in the future from getting something they want without having to dig up codes.
I appreciate you being respectful about it, it wasn't my intention to argue against the actual subject of the charms and what not. I just think it's not something that needs to be changed and is perfectly fine as is
If they decide to do it, fair enough but i don't necessarily think there's anything wrong with it being a player choice thing. I'm not gonna make examples because I mean no disrespect to anyone - this thread (And more importantly how OP went about it) just rubbed me the wrong way.

Still waiting for an actual proof-of-evidence to back up your nonsensical claims.
What reason other than bigotry, does someone have to actively want the completely free and optional-to-equip charms to not be in their account?
If you can't give a reason, then just stop, it's embarrassing. Supporting bigots is cringe.
And likewise you can't provide any actual reasoning for why the current way BHVR is doing it is actually bad (The codes never expire and it's very easy to learn of their existance), and the majority of your arguments are based on "lol own the bigots" while generalising people who might not want to redeem some code or have some charm added to their account they aren't interested in
Again, I'm not denying bigots play this game, the whole David fiasco showed a lot of true colours and I don't support that kind of behaviour.
@Seraphor said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935362#Comment_2935362
It also makes it possible to track how many players have decided to redeem the code, and thus how many LGBT+ supporting players there are, which I'm sure has gone some way to convincing management to improve representation, e.g. David and more.
Thank you. An actual good point
@Lochnload_exe said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935362#Comment_2935362
You can also just not equip them. Does that mean that BHVR should remove the other charms given for free? The option and decisions are still there, just don't equip them lmao.
But what's wrong with giving people a choice then?
Some optional charms you got for engaging with an event, something you didn't have to do
A lot of other things are given through codes, something you don't have to do
I just think it's a respectable decision on BHVRs part to let the players decide how much they are interested, that's all. I don't get why people need to throw around the word bigot. Just ain't right to me but I am an opinionated person at the end of the day
-
@SuzuKR said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935406#Comment_2935406
Yeah, the choice for people who actively do not want the charm to be supported. Congratulations.
What's your problem, did you make this thread expecting everyone to blindly agree with you or was it your intention to just throw bad faith arguments at anyone who disagreed from the start?
-
@SuzuKR said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935398#Comment_2935398
Still not hearing a reason other than "bigots will not want it". Why are you so insistent on defending bigots? Or do you have an actual reason that someone would not want completely free optional-to-equip charms they can just not use if they don't want to?
I'm defending BHVRs decision to give players a choice.
Strawman me all you want, nowhere have I defended bigotry in any fashion. It's a video game charm.

People who don’t care either way will not care about extra bonus charms. People who actively don’t want the charms will complain. People who actively don’t want them have no actual excuse except bigotry.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the current way BHVR is doing it.
If you want it, you can have it - whenever you want it.
If you don't, you don't have to.
I stand by this. BHVR put the choice into the players hands and it was completely the right decision.
Asking BHVR to make a change to "own the bigots" is kinda hilarious ngl to you. No offence intended

I’m not hearing a reason other than “bigots will cry” which is always a good thing.
Very narrow minded point of view, but that's okay you're entitled to it
Personally I respect BHVR for leaving it up to the player whether or not they're interested
@Mooks said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935362#Comment_2935362
To be fair, they would still remain to be optional to use and charms are being added through rifts either way so two charms more is really not that big of a deal..
That's the thing though, I'm seeing people throwing around the word bigot over a video game charm that BHVR has intentionally went out of their way to go "hey, it's here if you want it and it'll always be available"
The codes never expiring is proof of that.
I just don't think it's fair to say "lol if ur against the charms being default ur prolly just a bigot". While I'm positive that's true for some, it's silly to be so broad. I thought broad generalisations were a bad thing.

What actually good non-bigoted reason is there to not want completely free bonus cosmetics supporting LGBT+? I’ll wait.
That's not my point whatsoever
My point is the charms are currently optional and BHVR puts the decision in the hands of the player whether they want them or not. I don't see what's so wrong with that?
Maybe some people just aren't interested, so they don't redeem the codes.

Bigots having to deal with it or quit? Sounds like a win in my book.
Seems a little unfair to say people who aren't interested in these (at the moment) optional charms to be labelled a bigot lol
What's wrong with the current way of just letting people who want it, have it and those who don't, don't.

I think this is in reference to one of the areas in front of the exit gates
There's a small gap where you can drop down but can't get back up without going all the way around, the killer could block you into this little corner and you'd have no way out of it

I think Trapper, Wraith, Nurse and Huntress should all keep the default chase themes. I'd have said Billy too but he got his own chase music so, ye
The most likely candidate will probably be Hag or at a huge stretch (no pun intended), Freddy.
Hag is one of the few killers who has basically remained unchanged for years and personally I wouldn't change her but BHVR did an addon pass on killers who didn't really need it before (Huntress e.g) so it's possible we might see a Hag addon pass in the future
Freddy desperately needs an addon pass, all and I mean ALL of his addons are garbage and add very little. The pallet addons are cool but using an addon to use a different power seems so archaic now that we have killers walking around who have like 3 diff powers already. The Nightmare license seems to be in a weird state though so IDK if they'd ever give him any more than that.

i did the math, and if i pick them up seperated i get a better price, because if you pick them one by one, they actually have better discounts now, except that on the ultimate edition you get some sort of "universal amulet", which i have no idea of what it is, even the base game is 50% off, so i think i will stick to this solution, and also by doing this, i can actually skip some chapters i dont want probably, like the clown, or the plague, or the legion, they cost 2 dollars each at the moment, so im not sure, maybe i get them just for the survivors or something, what do you think ?
and the licensed content have different pricing and are not on any special discounts at the moment but i will still get them
Yeah if you feel like you're saving money, do what you think is best! I'm sure you know how much you're comfortable spending and what content you want
Although I will say chapters like Plague and Clown give you some very good killer perks that you will want if you decide to stick with the role.
Again you could always just grind for them without having to pay, which is totally viable!

As a Survivor and Killer, I have more respect for players that don't just rely on their precious "Clickers." Smart survivors know how to cover each other and sab hooks. I always send a "GG" if I see that even when I'm playing Killer.
When I play Killer, I almost always run Lightborn because it's one less headache.
I don't mind people who go for flashlight saves when the opportunity arises, those are the best kind
Like if you're nearby and you see your teammates gonna go down and you wanna try, that's all good
But the kinds of survivors who ignore gens/healing and purely just babysit their teammates. So infuriating because they're not using the time you're buying by wasting the killers time.
-
Flashlights
Nothing boils my blood more than having a decent chase and seeing two white knights hovering around giving the killer free pressure. I don't need a babysitter
