dead hard has been around for years. the change that effected kill rates were the boon totems not dead hard.
which is why coh got nerfed into the ground and only appears in 1 out of 3 matches now...
It's been around for years but it took them years to make it work correctly
it also took years for people to finally figure out it was the best exhaustion perk in the game, which only got more prevalent when more killers were added that DH countered
The perk at 70%+ pick rate, no other perk was that high up.
Also COH is still the best healing perk in the game

The developers could be wrong. Hackers and 4man SWF is all there was at the top MMR. Nerfing survivors because of that has basically ruined the game for like 99.9% of survivors.
Sluzzy you said the majority of killers won their games when old DH was a thing
If what you said is true, then the they wouldn't have said killrates are too low for them.

DH was not busted. Because a killer streamer said so and the community believed it.
Killers still won a majority of games against survivors that had DH.
Sluzzy you can think what you want, I'm not gonna tell you that your opinion is wrong
But
Dead Hard was objectively broken once it was fixed.
Also, the developers do not agree with you. They said kill rates were lower than they want, so they buffed killer. The developers themselves disagree with you Sluzzy.
-
No.
they made these changes to address months (if not years) worth of complaints of a stale meta and busted perks like DH
if they had given up on the game, they'd be content to leave it as is and keep releasing feng min cosmetics and new chapters
They took a big risk with this patch, which shows they do care.
-
It's weird
I used to hate Blight with a passion, but over time I realised it wasn't Blight I hated
It was their perks and playstyle; you know tinkerer chasers with ruin pop etc
I don't know what it is, or what's changed but all the Blight's I've faced recently were only running one slowdown and mostly info perks. I've not seen alch ring in a while either.
Also I love playing him, I'm not super good with him but I'm decent.
-
One survivor tbagged me therefore all survivors are toxic
sound logic my guy

Dying light is not bad. But Pentimento without Plaything is completely useless, but even that is hit and miss since survivors can just ignore Plaything. Survivors that bring COH don't do totems without a good reason. And nobody sane does totems when pressured hard.
Eruption is much stronger. 25 seconds not doing anything is equivalent to 90 / 25 * 100 = 36% of gen progress. And if you have 2 people scream at the same time, that's 72% of gen progress. Since one is always in chase or hooked, the most you can get with Eruption is 108% of progress worth in terms of time.
Also, because 1 kick applies all 3 slowdown perks at once, it's very efficient. Plus, I use frenzy not only for hits, but also for getting to gens faster, so even more time saving.
So, I believe my build is the best for Legion slowdown. It might be different for other killers.
Well yeah I meant in terms of pure gen action speed slowdown
People also forget legion makes people mend which is additional stall since nothing can speed up mending really

Oh I thrive off of killers throwing the game for me.
Like if the killer tunnels me out while my team is teabagging at the exit gate, I laugh my ass off because I did my job well.
Def one of the most satisfying feelings knowing you won the game for your team, even if you die
I know SBMM doesn't seem to agree with that sentiment but hey, it's a team game. Who cares what the imaginery number thinks
-
@StarMoral said:

Same here. Once I got my hands on Overcome, I actually got good with running the killer. At least partially.
And I hardly ever ran DS. One action and you lose the whole perk, and you can only use it once. OTR is just better DS 100%. Longer period of time, Pre-nerf Iron Will, Aura Hiding, and MULTIPLE USES.
The best antidote to being tunnelled is to get good enough at chasing that the killer either gives up or get's actual tunnel vision and throws the game to kill you
easier said than done though, people say surv is so easy but hey - I don't think so.

I have liked it
There are absolutely some tweaks that need to be made, especially for people like me in Solo Queue. But I've gotten to play against a bunch of M1 killers these last few days and it wasn't the usual slaughter it would be. We had to friggin WORK to escape (when we did escape at least...).
Now it helps that I never really played meta perks so I had no real adjustment I had to make but I am finding that escaping is far harder than it was before and I am loving that. I suppose maybe it'll eventually get annoying but I'm Solo Queue, I'm used to constantly dying so whatever.
Swearing to stop using DH and IW months ago was the best decision I made
The changes barely impacted my gameplay
-
My surv experience hasn't been agonising, it's been okay for the most part.
The worst parts for me are:
'Forever' builds, Thana being buffed
Teammates giving up/DCing even against weak killers (Nothing new but def worse now)

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/336549/there-was-a-pallet-here
I haven’t been on Garden of Joy yet but I can’t say that pallet was really an issue for me, not sure why they’d remove it. As for the one on Badham, I assume you meant the one in the school that spawned in the entrance hallway? I hated that pallet with a burning passion and I’m glad it was removed, but that’s just me.
The badham pallet was a pallet that spawned infront of a house, it was essentially a car loop with a pallet. That pallet never spawns anymore
@AReallyBoredHuman said:
Most pallet spawns are inconsistent, there are very few that are fixed.
When Dredge came out, this pallet always spawned here - I played Garden of Joy quite a lot so it sticks out vividly in my mind
-
I played a round on meat plant as an m1 killer with brutal
it was nowhere near as painful as before, pre-dropping pallets against brutal doesn't net as much distance as before
-
This isn't even the worst it could be tbh
Thana + Pentimento + Dying Light and maybe Call of Brine or a hex totem that survivors will want to get rid of
And before you call dying light horrible, let me just show you some quick math:
If everyone is injured, thana slows gens by 22% so that's 115.38s for 1 gen solo (90/0.78
Now, let's assume you've got 3 non obsession hooks, that's 9%. (90/0.69) = 130 seconds.
Throw in pentimento? Why not. (90/0.39) = For a grand total of 230 seconds for a solo surv on a gen
Now granted, this wouldn't all happen at once since getting Pentimento to work for you is harder than thana/dying light but think about it
If circumstances allow, you can almost triple generator repair time.
-
I think they might make it 0.75 seconds at some point
Not really fussed though, I think it's okay as is
-
I think if gens still took 80s and old endurance stacking existed, OTR would've been too good for bodyblock potential
But now Endurance doesn't stack and if you're not being tunnelled and are instead running around trying to force the killer to hit you, you're basically throwing. Survivors can't really afford to waste too much time at the minute
-
It gives you 80s of endurance twice per game
It gives you pre-nerf iron will for 80 seconds
It gives you 80s of no aura reading
The perk isn't bad, people are just using it wrong. It seems BHVR doesn't want perks that actively 'punish' for tunnelling, instead they make perks that heavily discourage you from doing it - OTR makes you hard to chase, hard to find with aura perks and gives you a second chance if the killer is close to the hook
If not for the changes to how endurance stacking works, I'd say it was overtuned but since they fixed that issue the perk is fine.
-
No contest
The art team behind dredge deserve so much praise
-
Tunnelling implies the Killer is trying to get someone out as early possible
It's not early if it's endgame lol
Endgame being scary and tough is what makes it fun to try, BT (The perk) still works in endgame
-
4 man SWFs with full comms can still steamroll most killers I think
a 3 man SWF with good coordination can as well if the random isn't a weak link
But I think with less BS like DH and such, Killers odds of winning have gone up quite a lot. DH bought so much time
-
I reckon we'll have an answer to this in a few months, probably after project W is out.
The mid chapter after it perhaps?

Unless you were working toward a teachable perk and didn't quite make it. Then you WILL lose progress.
Yeah kinda, you don't techincally lose anything
You just need to spend more time to get to 50 so you can get p1
Which can take a while

So if I rendered the perk teachable at any polint, it should still show up in future bloodwebs, even though it shows locked on the original character's screen?
The devs said nobody will lose anything
I imagine that applies to unlocked teachables as well. The prestige thing being 'locked' just means the perks aren't auto-unlocked on other characters
-
I think if you already had the teachable unlocked, it is still available to all characters
You just can't get the teachables now since that mechanic was replaced
I think that's how it works

Basekit kindred with 12m killer aura (Think of it as Kindred tier 2)
Yeah, or like
Maybe a basekit kindred could be something like - the longer you're on the hook, the more information is given.
15 seconds - All survivors are revealed to each other
25 seconds - Killer's aura is shown within 12m
35 seconds - 16m
idk it's an idea that makes it not super overbearing or punishing for killers who aren't camping

yeah being completely honest
Less ruin and corrupt? Gen regression perks not being insanely crippling anymore?
Teaming up on gens being even more worth it in the early and late game?
Honestly it feels like survivors need to work together more to all get out, it's a bit more than what it was before.
I've had a lot of fun.
-
I think the team part of kindred aura reading would be good basekit
maybe leave the killer aura part to the perk itself or make it extend the range of it (Basekit 8m, Kindred adds another 8m maybe?)

Many thanks for the link

It doesn't really work once you go vs really good survivors. It's not a super viable build. Just because you saw it work once in YTber video, doesn't mean it's good.
Good survivors are prepared for it once they see it's Doctor. And with Unnerving Presence the increased chance of getting a skillcheck is the one thing that can screw your game completely over. They get punished only for missing a skillcheck, their skillcheck area is smaller, but IMO it makes it easier to hit great skillchecks that way.
It is a fun build, but you will hit a wall with it sooner or later. Doctor isn't a top tier killer, you have to take into consideration that too.
It's like with the 4 slowdowns Legion. Yeah games will last longer, but that's about it, it's not a threatening killer, run away from terror radius and do gens.
Merciless storm on it's own is a comfy perk for doc at least
The fact it has interaction with his power makes it such a unique perk on him

i have given you plenty of comparisons between trying to secure a kill with good behavior, and trying to do it with poor behavior.
I can only explain it to you, but I cannot understand it for you.
I never said I'm annoyed by getting face camped. I absolutely love it. Because I know I'll get away (as I explained earlier why face camping is a dumb tactic to begin with), and it's always funny to watch bad behavior fail when the other survivors come to the rescue 😀
But compared to you, I don't only look at things from my own perspective, and I'm aware that there are a lot of people who hate getting face camped.
You're entitled to your opinion but I do not agree :)
I think that's all that really needs to be said

Playing ANY game involving other people, whether it's a video game, or a board game on family game night, and you act in a way that intentionally annoys the other participants due to your own behavior... that's the definition of poor sportsmanship.
It's easy for people like you to forget that everyone involved in a game is a person, trying to have a good time. Just because two people are on the opposite team doesn't mean they're enemies, and it doesn't mean it's alright to behave poorly
"I'm the killer and I'm trying to make sure you die because all gens are done" = "I don't see you as a person, i'm intentionally trying to ruin your match"
Sound logic my guy. Talk about a reach
I don't care if being camped during endgame annoys you, I'm not doing it TO annoy you, I'm doing it to secure a kill out of a losing game. If you have a problem with it, don't get caught during endgame. Simple as

If the other three survivors are up, and the hook is not right next to the gates, going away to push people out the gate is asking for a survivor to go around you, unhook, and then run off somewhere to heal or beeline for the opposite gate while the ones at the gate try to hold your attention for as long as they possibly can. Guaranteed if they're on comms; in solo, it comes down to individual altruism or cowardice. Point is, if you leave the hook to do something that takes longer than ten seconds, you'd better get a down, because you've probably lost the one you had. And getting a down when the gates are 99ed/opened and everyone is hanging around them is not easy.
I'm not really fussed about kills one way or the other, but you're pushing an openly subpar, easier to counter strategy and then insulting people for sticking with what's more reliable. Telling a killer not to try and get a kill at the end is like telling a survivor not to try for hatch and to just stand there and take their L like a man instead. It's not reasonable to tell the other side they can't try to eke out what victories they can.
I look down on facecamping at every other point of the match, BM revenge aside, but c'mon. There's no other intelligent thing for the killer to do at that point.
Yep.
Completely agree, well said

🤪 I give up with you.
Clearly you don't understand the difference between good and bad sportsmanship.
If you think two different methods are the same just because they share the same goal, then i don't know what to tell you.
If your goal is to become a millionaire, and you get a choice between earning it, or robbing a bank, surely you could distinguish which option is good and which option is bad.
Similarly, if your goal is to secure a 1k during endgame collapse, and your option is to either just stand 5 inches in front of the hook like a sack of salty potatoes, or tactically keeping an eye on the hooked person while searching the area for other survivors... in this case there's an option where you're just playing to the best of your abilities, and an option where you're just a salty poor sport.
playing the game a way you specifically don't like = bad sportsmanship
give me a break
don't take getting camped so personally, the killer probably forgets you even exist after the match ends

Face camping / Proxy camping are different things. ... Unless you're the kind of person who uses pledge and donate synonymously.
Nobody's expecting you to fully ignore the person on the hook. But the OP was talking about proximity penalty, implying close proximity to the hook.
You don't have to stand right next to a hook to proxy camp and keep track of what's happening over there. Depending on the killer, there are other more advantageous ways to position yourself and making sure the rescue is unsuccessful. ... Unless you're Bubba, then you just stand there. But that's why nobody likes Bubba.
But you're still camping
Staring in the face or not
Yes they are different but it's the same goal: Securing a kill when all gens are done.
So again, I make the assertion camping in the endgame is perfectly fine and killers shouldn't be penalised for it nor is it bad sportsmanship.

it has counter-play. her m/s is slowed to 68%(i think) when charging her ability and she move at 110% when fully charged. her projectile moves at 1/4th speed of fully charged hatchets, so using line of sight and turning corners sharply is effective.
now you have to learn how to play against her anti-loop instead of doing gens in 5 minutes and almost completely avoiding her main ability. a lot of survivor just got carried really hard by gen-speed and won games with poor looping.
I know how to play against it
Doesn't change the fact it's an oppressive chase power. Oppressive doesn't mean uncounterable

Face camping is not the same as securing a kill.
If you do that against most experienced survivors, they'd force you to hit one of them while another one goes for the rescue, then body block for each other and everyone would escape 🙂
Face camping is 100% bad manners done by people who get salty and don't know how to properly play the game.
If you REALLY want to secure a kill you'd try to injure the other survivors and force them out of the gate.
Face camping, proxy camping - this is just semantics
If all gens are done and I hook a dude, I'm not leaving the area until he's dead or someone trades
It's not BM or w/e. That's the gist of it and there's nothing wrong with it
-

It's like you didn't even read my message.
I never said to give up.
You can try to get kills WITHOUT standing still 5 inches in front of the survivor on the hook.
You can keep trying with good sportsmanship instead of resorting to bad manners.
Imagine the opposite scenario, if the survivors lost hard:
Only 1 generator got done, 3 survivors got killed and the killer found and closed the hatch, and is chasing the final survivor.
Now, the survivor can also choose to be a good sport or a bad sport. You could keep trying to escape the killer and loop to the best of your ability... oooor you could run over to a pallet and start spam crouching to taunt the killer.
Like, you can be a good sport AND try your best, you don't have to resort to salty behavior and bad manners
Implying securing a kill is bad sportsmanship comparable to tbagging
It's not
Especially not in the endgame
-

After letting all 5 generators get done and the gates opening without getting a single kill, the game is pretty much lost. You have 2 options:
- Show good sportsmanship, still do your best without standing still in front of the hook
- Resort to face camping just to maybe get that 1k, and still lose the match.
I suppose it's a matter of maturity, some people realize games are just for fun and you don't win every match, while others just care about winning and can't accept a loss
Good sportsmanship is playing to win until the game actually ends mate
Just giving up when all gens are done is anti-climatic and boring as hell. Both sides
It's not over until it's over. Be it 1k or 4 man out
I know being camped isn't fun but AT LEAST when it's in the endgame it's completely understandable and it shouldn't be stigmatised. It's not bad sportsmanship nor does it have anything to do with maturity.

Ahaha what???
"You've already lost, so let us rescue and all escape"

Camping 1 person out to get a kill is not tryharding, get a grip.

killers in previous chapter had pop goes weasel->pain resonance. pop regress gens by 20 seconds(25%) and pain res regresses generators by 12 seconds. pop into pain res added 32 seconds to 80 second gens, so each gen took 114 seconds each time the combo went off and than there old ruin & corrupt.
Even when you're healthy or physically can't heal without giving a certain killer one of the strongest powers in the game.
since when did legion become one of strongest killer powers in the game? people keep saying he's worst killer in the game. Nobody ever talks about plague. the only time they ever talk about plague is to talk about thano plague and than they barely ever play her anyway.
Corrupt purge is one of the most oppressive chasing powers in the game
So giving plague more of it to 'counter' thana is just dumb
