Both can be true. On demand sprint burst is a problem AND having 4 zombies to patrol gens and give away locations is a problem. They should both be updated IMO.

I've only ever seen the escapist class 4x I think once. People ignore that though. Also, unless you're playing in a SWF, how frequently are you sticking right by the other rando escapists on your team?

I do think that there should be a hot fix for the escapists, but as you pointed out, people will do a this for that instead of understanding that both can be a problem.

Indeed. This is shaping up to be the anti-fun ptb.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4070756#Comment_4070756

I currently run four and yeah, I will be unaffected. I don't think a single one of my killer builds are touched by this.

And while I understand that, and don't really have a problem with it, this will be a harder impact to survivors. I understand that these forums are used more by killers, but I think survivors should not be continuously overlooked.

Gen Regression outside of CoB/Overcharge should not be affected. Since something like Pain Res + PGTW would not stack. Stake Out/Hyperfocus + Fast Track are also not affected, since they dont really work like that.

What is affected is Haste-Stacking (both sides) or things like Desperate Measures + Botany Knowledge.

Overall, we have to wait until they do Buffs to those Perks to see if it is an overall Nerf or not. Since making things not stack is good (or less efficient when stacked), but this depends on what they do with the individual Perks. But overall it will affect more things on Survivor than Killer.

Let's also not pretend to ignore that most killers run at least 2 aura reading perks. This does nothing to any of that.

  • @terumisan said:

last thing i heard around 60 is where we're supposed to be.. did i miss patch notes? what survivor nerfs were implemented?

These changes to stacking builds really only affects survivors.. The nerfs to healing builds and gen speed builds is what is going to really mess with survivor win rate even more. There is nothing that helps people get better at chases. Most survivors only do chases when it's required and go down pretty quickly. There are only a few that actually take the time to learn to get better at mind games /running without relying on pallets (Mind you the pallet number has already decreased significantly) as well as their very clear introduction to micro-loops (even if they don't address it) where the killer can wrap around almost any loop and get a hit.

Some of those less inexperienced survivors rely on getting gens done to help the team and this nerf is going to just make it worse for survivors specifically.

  • @Classic_Rando said:

Lots of people have asked for this, but zero chance it will happen. BHVR has made it very clear that they don’t care about the problems caused by high ping players. Limiting pings would reduce the number of players - definitely not gonna happen. Showing pings would mean high ping killers would basically never get to play, which honestly I believe is a fair outcome because they are ruining games for everyone else.

It's wild to think that they're concerned with "higher ping players never being able to play" and not "how do we make it more enjoyable for our survivor players"

Kinda hard to release a balanced killer when on ptb people say "lmao ****killer D tier"

Looking at the ptb, Kaneki looked insane, yet the community tried it's best to clown on him from the reveal.

Dracula and Vecna had solid kits, but we're undertuned on ptb. So the narrative lately that bhvr has been selling OP new product to push sales shows yet again this community isn't to be trusted to not make knee-jerk reactions.

    I actually thought this too.

They release him OP so all the killer mains will buy him and then nerf him after they've made their sales. I've been wondering if that's been happening.

I usually don't even waste my time on replies like these, but I will try this time, because I'm in mood to maybe put in your head something except hate and biases.
Firstly, I can't tell for these killer mains, generalizing based on your beliefs/biases also doesn't make you look smarter, but in last two months I have nearly 80% of my matches on survivors.
Secondly, I would be insanely glad if it was "one swf team" (and they were duo and two solos btw). I see it almost every second match on both sides, if survivors made it to gates/hatch. And If I play killer, I usually ask them why they do this, because, you know, I played as they want (maybe 30-40% of my killer matches are 8 hooks with 4 survivors alive), wasn't rude or toxic, but almost always I get answers like "it's not that deep, it's just the game". Well, this logic of course doesn't apply on tunneling, slugging and other things survivors don't like.
Few days ago I had a game against baby Wraith, who got only 1 hook in endgame and 0 kills. And Renato did nothing but trying to bring his attention to the exit gates just to press his crtl as fast as he can. Team literally destroyed new player, but this Renato somehow still have strong desire to bm killer. And I'm tired to ask killers to not put too much attention to these losers and don't lose faith into humanity and dbd community, because it's hard to stay calm, when you try to play chill and see this behavior almost every match.
I know, for most survivors it's really hard to think one step forward, but this behavior is literally what produce even more tunneling. So people who ask to reduce tunneling and still act themselves like this should just finally accept they want not to killer play "fair", they just want to feel this sore winner feeling more often, mock more people and to amuse at least something of this loud and miserable child inside.
And it's not about sensitivity. If you ask something that you won't respect, why someone should respect your ask then?

What a lengthy response when your whole purpose was to do the exact same thing they did to you, to me on my post.

I would be so glad if it was just 1 killer that was tunneling but it's impossible to play without a full swf so why would we?

Maybe you should take your own advice here lol

  • Denial doesn't help yours.

If it's that much of a problem, build against it. That's seem pretty straightforward.

I don't mind being tunneled myself. My builds are mostly about dropping a chase and I get out often enough.

And when I play killer, sometimes I tunnel (why is unimportant) and survivors with anti-tunnel perks are a pain to handle.

So, use the tools available, or don't. It's your choice.

Do you mean how we can build against aura reading but then they nerf Distortion?

Survivors get NOTHING. They nerfed Decisive Strike :D

  • @drsoontm said:

Why aren't you using all the anti-camp+tunnel mechanics?

    Here is something helpful:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gU3l8GcdGMM

Also, there is absolutely nothing in common between having the ability to mori the last remaining survivor and giving an anti-tunnel perk like DS base-kit. That's not even close.

Why does my build have to surround the tunneling but they get to play however the want and use whatever perks they want AND they still nerf my general game play like smaller loops and closer hooks?

You forgot the shrunken maps. I get them a lot. You are basically on top of each other all the time and with several aura perks the games last 5 to 10 mins of we are lucky. It's just a slaughter or slug fest because there's really nowhere to go.

The fact that the maps are so much smaller and they get to see us at the beginning taking no time at all to get to someone for the first chase…

  • @Grimlet09 said:

y are killers not alloud to run anything for gens or aura bc thats all i hear ppl mad about???? what r killers alloud to run now?

i dont have issues im fine i can hide perfectly well. maybe u just bad at hiding??????

maybe its time to admit it not meant for surviors to win evry chase or loop for five gens. maby its time to be ok with killers chasing u a lot, i thot we all want chase more??????

Again, you are completely ignoring the fact that they also nerfed the loops into the ground.

  • @Ryuhi said:

    well that was unpleasant.

Anyway, I wonder why players don't like when their location is revealed frequently. Its almost like theres a way for groups of up to 4 to have all that information without even needing a single perk.

I know its technically whataboutism, but if nothing else it should at least create some understanding of the frustration that a lot of killers feel when going against SWF on comms. At least the killer has to dedicate multiple perk slots to have aura reading for specific occasions (like i'm all ears, new zanshin, etc.) and have to play into those situations as much as possible.

Its not meant to cause an argument or anything, I just feel like some of the people opposed to aura perks for killers might benefit from the perspective shift. Obviously not all SWFs are on comms, nor are they the majority of the playerbase.

And the people that are pro nerfing survivor perks aren't taking into consideration the unreasonable amount of changes they are doing OUTSIDE of perks to help killers also.

I can easily 360 a new killer. An experienced killer? No. A killer with bad ping? No.

Guess what there isn't anymore of? Separation of servers to avoid long queue times.

They completely slaughtered the hug method by putting objects in the way. They've nerfed loops altogether because for some reason killers refused to break pallets.

So yes. When it comes down to it, the aura reading perks do matter.

Because most of the time I'm not playing with 3 others. Maybe one or two max.

Now lets factor in the fact that they hid player level AND ranks. Why? Because both sides were getting mad when they were getting people outside of their ranks. What was the fix? Not to implement a system, but to remove the ability to see it.

Distortion's nerf is just ANOTHER way to bring the survivor win rate down.

  • While we are at it- Let's not take away from the million other ways that killers can see us (WITHOUT AURA)

Think of the number of screaming perks.

And the argument is that we will get to charge our distortion faster? TO 2 INSTEAD OF 3 NOW MIND YOU.

Guess when I don't need a distortion token? In the middle of a chase. Guess what I can't really get out of with the increasing number of other very interesting killer perks (idk… the number of exposed perks as an example or… the number of perks used to block pallets)

  • @NarkoTri1er said:

so, out of those 25 perks, you will see 4 at the very most per match.

Out of those 25 perks, around only 5 are popular amongst killers.

Out of those 25 perks, you literally named those that directly counter Distortion because they burn it's tokens.

And finally, Distortion is NOT the only counter to aura reading perks, game sense, map awareness and chase skills are also a counter.

Okay you're not even thinking about how those aura reading perks stack up though lol.

Let's just type out a typical game.

    Everyone loads in.

Survivors immediately (should) run to a generator.

    OOP KILLER HAS LETHAL-

Killer is on someone and downs them.

Killer has Pain Res and BBQ. (That's 3 perks)

Killer gets gen block progress and sees the next victim.

    Rinse and repeat.

At all times is a bit much, considering Lethal only works in the beginning, BBQ only works after a hook and has a 40m range condition. And Darkness Revealed is not that good either, aura reading gets blocked by lockers, BBQ can easily be avoided by just going into a locker for a few seconds. Aura reading really is not an issue…

It could have been avoided. But they have not fixed the screams being a second before the hook.

  • @nodforkiss said:

  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

Idk, this feels weird to me. Ill click onto a video and see people say that the player is smurfing because they are facing bad opponents, but DBD's matchmaking is not insanely strict and has a lot of flaws with matchmaking quality since it prioritizes speed over quality… I feel like people put too much faith into the matchmaking system.

Plus since MMR is tied to dying or not getting kills, Ive seen people accuse others of "de-ranking" as well, which is also just odd to me, like good players just die sometimes or dont get kills, it just happens. Like anyone can lose at a game, it's just bound to happen, so why exactly does it even really matter?

I feel like some people are too quick to try and dismiss how skilled a person is at a game, or try to dismiss their character based on false assumptions with little to no evidence… this isnt something new, it's been in gaming for a long time. But at the same time, it seems like there has been a massive spike in this recently, since Ive been seeing it a lot more compared to before.

Does this happen? I thought since we all agreed that matchmaking in this game has been broken for several years now that it's essentially random who you go against.

  • @Reinami said:

    Counter point.

A killer with that much aura reading has 0 gen defense perks.

Also, yes. Because they'd still have to look around for us and allow us to be strategic instead of the game doing it for them.

  • @Dreamnomad said:

I think a lot of people here are experiencing a confirmation bias. You make a theory. Any theory. And then anything that supports that theory, you take special note of and anything that is contrary to your theory is disregarded. Certain perks are going to stand out more than others naturally. For example, scene partner is a perk that makes you scream and reveals the killers aura and the condition to activate it is minimal. If you happen to have scene partner then there is almost no way that you won't remember having it. Alternatively, there are many passive perks that are completely forgettable and you could go the whole match without even knowing you had it.

Unless you have been literally taking screenshots of the post match perks and created an excel file and put all the data into it and played hundreds of games then you won't be able to see if there are in fact any actual trends. It absolutely is possible that BHVR messed up how random the perks are assigned and some are given a higher value than others. But anecdotal evidence is simply irrelevant. For instance, one player mentioned only seeing pain res twice. That seems reasonable to me given the number of perks available. But that player no doubt was actively looking for and paying particular attention to when they got that perk. But then the same player might notice they did get some perk they don't like 4 times. That is how a random distribution works. Each and every game gives and equal opportunity for each perk to be assigned. Even if you got the same perk two games in a row it would still have an equal chance of being assigned to you the following game. There will naturally be some weird clusters when looked at on an individual level. It's not until you have millions of data sets where you can start to see how equally the perks are being distributed. And no one player is playing millions of games and recording their data.

This argument feels like such a reach. I don't DISLIKE the perks I mentioned. I just kept seeing them. There was a day I got the basement ritual perk 4 times when I played less than 10 games. Does your confirmation bias argument hold up against statistics?

  • @Reinami said:

    Counter point.

A killer with that much aura reading has 0 gen defense perks.

With the way that the game is going, where loops are being shortened and spread out, and killers are getting more abilities instead of one major ability, chases don't last very long for the majority of players.

Just now I had a player end themselves when they got hit with lethal. Immediately puts the other 3 at a major disadvantage.

Of course legion is fine, because Legion is too weak. Legion win, because of masive slowdowns or survivors messing around and healing.

Also I love you mention huntress missing is a counter. Xeno, Chucky and the Unkown can also miss. Singularity on the other hand has a strong antiloop power yes, BUT only if you are slipstreamd and how can you counter slipstream? By using Emp and not get slipstreamed at the first place. Its hard to get someone slipstreamed, if the survivor has half a brain.

Yeah let me just stop and grab an EMP in the middle of a chase.

  • @Xernoton said:

May I remind you of the last time they tried to do something different? Skull Merchant wasn't exactly a success. Neither was release Sadako to survivors because killers adapted and started playing in a different, less chase oriented way.

Every killer has to have some form of anti loop. After 8 years, we can say that much. If a killer doesn't have that, then they either become incredibly weak or they need something else to make up for it, which so far has only backfired.

That's fair. An anti-loop mechanic is much different than completely ignoring the loop though. It shows skill when you actually have to do the mechanic well versus all the killers they've been putting out when it comes to looping.

    Think of every single killer.

Trapper puts a trap down in front of a loop… you're blocked. You can still take the time to go to another loop if necessary. Good mechanic.

Huntress can hit you with a hatchet. You can still continue to run forward and mind game. Good mechanic.

I'm not saying that all the anti-loop mechanics are bad, but they're making killers with unavoidable anti-loop mechanics.

  • @duygu said:

name a popular killer without antiloop

also all of those killers have counterplay to their antiloop except chucky who is getting nerfed anyway

There are killers with anti-loop type mechanics that are still viable. Huntress is a good example of this. If you mess up when you're looping a pallet, she will get you. If she mind games you, she will get you.

What is not good anti-loop mechanics, to name a few?

Survivors forced to break the pallet by vaulting without a perk.
AOE splash attacks that don't matter if you're around a wall or not.
The killer avoiding any struggle with the pallet at all by vaulting it themselves, but even then, legion does it and it's fine.

  • @BaschFonRonsenburg said:

so you want killers to be horrible in chase? You want killers to do poorly at their own objective? Do you even play killer?

So the only way that killers can kill anyone is by ignoring the one thing survivors have to survive (Pallets)? Do you even play survivor?

While I don't feel it necessary for any player to justify how or why they play. Since you've now made assumptions about how I play part of your argument, it needs to be addressed.

No I don't really camp and tunnel much. I may if I think defending a hook is warranted or its past the mid game and I want to secure a kill for pressure but outside of those scenarios I find pressuring gens isn't really that big of an effort, for the most part.

The point wasn't just about camping and tunneling, it was about killer license to target and kill whom they choose, which is an important part of the game.

Its that freedom that generates a lot of the in game risk and when it gets attenuated the game suffers. It becomes less high stakes, more predictable and generally safer to play as survivor, which are all bad things for a survival horror.

When the killer has license to kill whom they choose then inevitably some players will camp and tunnel. The ability to defend a hook or eliminate a player of choice, just killer license in general, should not be undermined simply because "wahh its annoying", which is really the only argument you've offered up.

Unless BHVR decide that they aren't legit play and patch them out somehow… you'll just have to be annoyed I guess, which frankly I'm fine with.

This is fair- but you are not thinking of the longevity of a game where new players are likely playing with experienced friends. People do not want to be tunneled out after just starting a new game. It makes it not fun. I don't know why this is a hard concept to grasp?

If it's happening every game and you refuse to even try to play against these strategies, then I question why you still keep playing DBD.

I don't want to play against them lol. I don't want to be forced to play sweaty because I have to deal with a camper or tunneler every game… and yes… it's getting to the point where it's every game.

I say who cares? Play the game. Some games are good some bad. Some are a win Some are a loss. Too many random things van happen with 5 individual players.

Everyone plays differently. If I want easy game where I win and it's never stressful I will go play Big Rigs or Hello Kitty.

I don't give up on hook, I don't DC. Cause I don't care about a win or a loss. For me it's that simple. This is strictly my opinion as well as my playstyle. You guys do you.

For the OP I say the incentive to stay is just playing the game. Some are In my favor others are not.

Remember, win and lose with dignity.

Just to be clear- your answer is "play the game and hope it's fun even with the balancing issues" instead of them fixing it to make it more fun?

  • @MaTtRoSiTy said:

I don't think the forum or BHVR are killer sided, survivors are the majority of the player base/customers in this game.

Sorry but as a survivor main myself I have to say boons needed nerfing, flashlights take far less skill than ever, some loops are now too weak for sure but too many strong loops will link into each other and medkits allowing up to 3 fast heals for a single survivor was absolutely crazy. Honestly survivors needed a nerf but some problems have come with that. Flashbangs and flashlights combined with BGP SWF's is just plain broken.

Anti loop killers are not fun, stacking 3-4 slowdowns is not fun (though I understand why some resort to this). I do think tunnelling is too easy and rewards killers too much. Killers can and always will be able to take matches in a very negative direction should they choose to play in an unfun way. There more strategies become a negative problem, the more measures like anti-camp will be introduced.

What is the incentive to stay in matches like that? Well in all honesty I personally feel when someone is that desperate to win I would rather move on to the next match as my incentive is fun and a sweating tunnelling/camping killer is not fun.

The point is not that there aren't balancing issues on the survivor's side. It's that they take every opportunity to nerf survivors and do nothing but buff killers, or not change the broken parts of killer at all.

  • @VomitMommy said:

What is my incentive to not tunnel or camp?

That's not true in a solo queue game with 3 other random players. But I think that makes my point exactly.

This only makes sense for SWFs. This completely negates the possibility of running solo queue, because HARDLY will a solo queuer take a hit for someone or bodyblock.

Sabo’ing or bodyblocking for someone to wiggle out should never be easy or reliable. I have no proof if hook closeness has gotten worse or not, but can’t say it’d be a bad thing considering the instances where killers couldn’t get to hooks were not good times.

That just means that the survivors were good runners, which should be rewarded. Not punished.

"Shake the meta." Killers are hit with heavy changes and survivors only have 2 of their perks (Iron Will & Decisive Strike) removed from their meta arsenal but Dead Hard persists as a meta perk.

Why is it that survivors always, ALWAYS get away with everything but killers get the short end of the stick, BHVR?

Eruption gets hard nerfed only for them to reverse it because everyone called out for it of their ridiculous ways they nerf the killer. Why does Dead Hard remain untouched?

You know dead hard delays like literally one hit right? Can you not manage that?

its nutcracker themed for all the skins, i dont get how this is so hard to understand. it's been stated numerous times across all social media

What does this have to do with the skin itself? There are a lot of different outfits within the Nutcracker...

Ngl I voted solely on the Dredge skin.

I already have my trusty biker Kate skin, so I'm not really interested in newer survivor cosmetics. =)

Seems to be the consensus that most people voted for the Dredge. It makes me wish they did individual this or that votes
