  • Uh.. good for you?

    You're joking right?

Judging by his past posts I think he's just very young. Ignore it and move on.

  • She is 115% movement speed when walking around whether manifested or demanifested, and gets a speed penalty when manifesting or demanifesting. The televisions turn back on automatically after a certain amount of time, so no all TVs could not be turned off at the same time unless the killer repeatedly teleports to them herself.

The tapes slowly give you condemned while you hold them, and remove 3 condemned bars once inserted into their assigned TV (which will always be the furthest TV from the one you picked it up from).

Yes you can loop her, just watch out for her teleportation to a TV as she gets a temporary ~1 second speed boost after teleporting.

If you have any questions about powers, I would recommend going to the wiki in the future. Or watching gameplay videos.

  • Yo TypicalIllusion, I got a question.

  • I would recommend having someone whose native language is English read it over and fix grammatical errors. Some questions were almost impossible to understand as a native English speaker.

  • They can't really take advice from PTBs and use them in the live version of the game unless they're small bug fixes or minor changes. When releasing updates on consoles they have to undergo extensive testing that can take weeks, and delaying every platform just because of minor bugs that only affect a few people is ridiculous. It's why the killswitch exists.

I'm also pretty sure that's why Xbox had crossplay disabled for a while, cause it took them longer to approve the update. Don't quote me on that, though.

  • Yes it's a common bug now and happening to seemingly everybody. Just queue up again.

  • It depends on what you want from each one. If you want perks, go for Halloween for sure.

Laurie has Decisive Strike which is still an incredible perk, and Myers has Save the Best for Last which I would consider a meta perk, and Play With Your Food is great in a few meme builds.

Pyramid Head's perks across the board are garbage meme perks which aren't even close to useful even in meme builds. Cheryl does have some decent perks though.

Pyramid Head is objectively stronger than Myers, though a bit harder to play. So if you're buying them purely for strength or skill cap, Pyramid Head is definitely the choice there.

Honestly just go with your gut, if you think one if gonna be better for you than the other then go for it. We all have different priorities, playstyles, and definitions of good/bad perks and killers. Go watch some gameplays if you want more convincing on the killers.

This what I thought when they hide the rank the first time they tested it! They even removed threads in this forum, officially because of "leaks beeing not allowed".

They can just re-introduce ranks as they were before. "Grades" function almost identical to ranks except for them not affecting matchmaking. Just make grades affect matchmaking and be done with it. This MMR system is ######### awful.

Lockers aren't silent, killers have ears.

You have to remember that killers have music playing the entire game, its not as silent as survivor music which has breaks in the music as well.

If they're able to hear it, more power to them.

I'm complaining as a killer main, who's noticing it while playing killer. It only makes the game easier for me, but that's not exactly a good thing.

  • @konchok said:

Here are the rules. List only one killer per post. Rate their difficulty as either easy, medium or hard. Then justify your reason. Additional note, their tier strength should not be justification for a hard rating, for example you can't justify trapper or clown as being hard by saying that they're a low tier killer. If you agree with someone's rating give them than vote up their reply.

    The Hillbilly: Intermediate

The fundamentals of Hillbilly are easy to understand but there is too much depth to his power for him to be considered easy. Curving, learning collision, managing overheat, threading the needle when traversing the map. They all take a lot of time to master and nobody has mastered Hillbilly yet. He would definitely be labeled as "Hard" if backrevving and m1lly'ing wasn't so enticing.

THey won't revert or change how MMR works, they can't afford to.

Can't afford to in what way? It's a switch they can flick. Consider it an experiment and be done with it.

  • I don't think enough people play Spirit anymore for that to be worthwhile. And there are definitely more animations in the game that need touch-ups, specifically the mori animations of the first three killers.

Well, for starters... do not hold shift to enter/leave.

Secondly, there is a perk for this called Quick & Quiet.

My man, I'm talking about slowly entering it. You can hear a metal scraping noise even when someone slow vaults into it.

  • It's the unfortunate truth of MMR. People say it's designed to cater to casual players, but you would fall under the casual player umbrella and you're still getting cucked by it.

Quit the game if you aren't having fun, the more players leave the faster BHVR will realize that they ######### up with SBMM.

  • If you're playing Billy you should be going for majority chainsaw hits, and to get a 4k you need on average 9-11 hooks, which is 9-11 chainsaw hits. It's ridiculously easy if you win.

  • @Config said:

Everyone knows that deadhard needs a rework, but what is ur idea to rework the perk?

Tell ur idea in the comments

My first idea: after arning 1 successful protection hit dead hard actives for 15 seconds, while deadhard is active the protected surv has all his scratch marks, pools of blood, grunts of pain are hidden and your aura Is revealed to the killer untill deadhard's duration is over.

My second idea: whenever a 8-10-12 meters from other survs they gain the ability to pick them selfs up at 150% the normal speed (a 50% bonus)

I would make it so you can't perform actions for ~2 seconds afterwards, unless the killer swings and misses (or power equivalent)

But visibility in this game is part of the gameplay, because things like stealth exist for both survivors and killers. Actually, nobody should be able to temper with the visibility (and gamedetails. nothing is worse than hidding in a bush that is not even there for the other guy). But i doubt it will be changed. At least they fix streched res, which helps with looping. But i would like to have some decent stealth gameplay back.

Then why did they allow NVIDIA to support their filters with DBD? With NVIDIA filters the game company has to manually approve it, which means they're fine with filters.

  • @Advorsus said:

It runs light years better than on old consoles. I will say though, if you're fine with not playing with disks then I'd go with the S, which I did.

The main differences is the not having a disc option, which is fine to me. Lower storage, which you can be the expansion card to get the same storage for still less price than the X.

And then the whole 4k thing. Which DBD doesn't even have 4k gaming. You'll still have a lot better graphics though. The difference between the X and S is that the X has what's considered true 4k. While the S you can still play on 4k settings on games that have it, but it's not considered "true 4k". I've played on both and there's almost no difference other than saying you paid $600 more for something. I literally play all games with 0 problems.

I've heard the X still has quite significantly stronger hardware compared to the S, and other games are capped at 30fps on the S while capped at 60fps on the X even at 1080p, which would hint the S is definitely a lot weaker and it isn't just a case of resolution support.

Basically what I'm wondering is how futureproof is it, seeing as how the game gets worse and worse every update.

  • I don't see why people get upset by "bully squads" if they aren't hammering gens. Survivor interaction is what makes the game fun. Be more cautious and play aware, trust me it's much more fun than a bunch of immersed clauds.

  • It's more than likely cheated in but you used to get bloodpoint compensation if your save file was corrupted back in 2018, so maybe it's an account from that era? I've never seen the compensation go about 100 million though so likely cheated in.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

He bought hacked account that was injected with progression, items and perks.

Does he cheat in game too?

You don't even have to purchase a hacked account for things like this. There are open source tools out there that you can use with no prior knowledge in 2-3 mins. This game's anticheat is an utter joke.

  • I don't care about them "fixing" last-gen, I understand that games shouldn't be held back for old consoles. It's like if open world games were sized down so they could be ran on GTX 950s. My point is that consoles are supposed to be a seemless experience. Plug and play, and don't worry about any issues.

  • @SomberNokk said:

Just get a next gen, last gen wont be supported forever.

You're missing my point. The game is unplayable on last gen, and as such shouldn't be sold on last-gen.

  • Why is the body not the same topic as the title?

But yes I've noticed weird hitbox issues with Bubba. After hitting a survivor I cannot break pallets.

  • @TripleSteal said:

"As everyone knows there are a ridiculous amount of blatant cheaters..."

I definetely did not know this, last time I've seen one was about 500-700 hrs ago, and it was quite a fun guy. What do you do to see them this often?

Well I play Blight pretty sweaty so the MMR system puts me up very high (not calling myself good, thats just how it works) and cheaters are usually at high MMR aswell from, well, cheating their way to the win.

  • @Marigoria said:

Cheaters cant be prevented with anti cheat software because they're always finding new ways.

However, what BHVR can 100% improve is a system that makes it easier to report them.

Right now you need to have a recording software up at all times, start recording when you see the hacking, save it, send to support. This is not great at all.

What could help: Having an in game record function OR replay function so if you dont have a recorder up, you can record after the game is over.

New accounts are $3 on third-party sites, and easy ways to avoid them being able to tell if an account is correlated to your old banned one are prevalent. This game has tens of thousands of players constantly, it would take at least a dozen hours for support to get through all the recordings to yours. There needs to be a short-term solution so that people don't get a ridiculous penalty.

Maybe this is entitled to say but maybe remove the penalty for killer entirely? Survivors can power through gens and get out within 5 minutes, Killers have to sit through games being held hostage and/or BM until EGC is over.

  • @Leatherface1990 said:

I hope you're having fun with it. I've played over 3 years and they have not done anything good to the game since. They had fixed pallets then broke them then took several months to fix them but the game still lags. You ever down a survivor and they move 3 feet to your other side because their servers are old and slow (same old servers?) ya. Loops were busted so they gave killer extra stuff to do like break their busted maps walls. LOL it's terrible imho.

And that relates to my post.. how exactly? I've been playing the game since early 2018 and I've (for the most part) only seen improvements. Sure there are the occasional negative changes like the hillbilly nerf or movement changes or the ones you've listed, but there are mostly positive ones.

Nerfed overpowered perks, nerfed overpowered items, nerfed overpowered killers, nerfed semi-infinites, pallet stun validation, add-on nerfs/changes, complete killer reworks, etc. There are a lot of things they could be doing better but again, how does this relate?

  • I hate to be that guy but keep in mind Sloppy Butcher doesn't apply to rush hits, it only applies to basic attacks (out of power.)

  • @Labrac said:

Flashlights should have an actual animation. It's just dumb that the survivor is carrying a flashlight and 0.00001 seconds after he clicks the button it is already shining in your face. Give them something like the Slinger treatment.

I didn't even think of that, it could probably work but it'll probably mess up muscle memory just like it did with Slinger. Definitely a better option than my suggestion though lol

  • I agree they're much worse. It looks like they used the default reflective material in Blender and just called it a day.

  • I main Blight because of the almost endless opportunities to improve. Every Blight plays slightly different and you can tell them apart based on playstyle alone. Hug techs, scoot surfs, zflicks, space blight, sflicks, and the list goes on. Unfortunately in recent months some parts of him have been butchered to be more new player friendly, but part of the fun challenge is re-learning. And the fact he's a high tier killer means you can experiment widely with builds without being punished by generator speeds.

  • The filter censors the "Jin" in "Yun Jin" because it is profane in another language. You cannot say a character's name.

  • PTB is coming August 17th at 10:00AM CST

  • August 17th - 10:00AM CST

  • @lagosta said:

Technically, every killer is counted separately for MMR purposes.

And yet I'm still being placed with sweat squads despite being ass with Pig.

  • Still works fine for me.

  • They haven't posted about it so I find it unlikely. You've probably disconnected recently, which was a 5 minute penalty, which would make this one a 15 minute.

  • Yes, they've added a thing called "stun validation" which prevents most hits through pallets. More about it is explained here under "Game Health: Pallet Hits."

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/262994/developer-update-july-2021

  • They weren't asking for a beginner's guide despite the title, they were complaining about teammates.

  • I actually think MMR is doing a good job at giving balanced matches for the most part, but that doesn't make it fun. This is a casual, unbalanced mess of a game at heart and having to sweat every game isn't going to be fun. Either sweat or get no kills.

  • I don't see this ever working because it requires every map to have breakable walls, which doesn't work on maps without a main building such as Rotten Fields or Shelter Woods. Forcing breakable walls into maps like this would be annoying and wouldn't work from a gameplay perspective.

Assuming only, say, 3/4 of all maps have breakable walls, then 1/4 of matches this perk would be completely useless. That cannot be said about literally any other perk.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

They should just revert Patch 4.1.2 and increase base heat dissipation to 5.0 charges/sec.

Actually, yeah I think that would be a better idea. It would prevent camping and you'd only need to wait a few sec to be able to use your chainsaw fully again in a chase.

  • @MadLordJack said:

The original live version of Overheat was perfect. It did nothing but stop facecamping.

Was there a difference between the original live version of it and now? I don't remember them making any changes. Unless you mean in the PTB.

you shouldn't have to run an addon to make up for a badly designed mechanic that shouldn't exist in the first place.

LMAO that's trapper bag in a nutshell. But yeah, I agree.

  • This is ######### golden, good post.

  • @TheWisp1206 said:

This would be a great idea although I feel it would be better as an add on instead of built in to his ability

This change was moreso aimed at trying to make Billy feel better as a whole, and he already has a lot of situational add-ons that this would only add to the pile.

  • @Phasmamain said:

But there is already a punishment for missing the saw. It’s called a 3 second miss penalty. Billy was fine without it and all it does is make learning him harder than it already is

The point of this was to reach a compromise between the developers and the community. As someone who loves Billy myself, I completely agree that overheat shouldn't be a thing to start with. But Mclean has stated it's staying in the game, so I was hoping something like this would be a good compromise.

  • Bond can give an insane amount of situational awareness and (in my opinion) is a must-have in solo queue. If you're being chased, you know where to go to not disturb teammates on gens. If you're injured and there's somebody nearby, you know where they are so that they can heal you. Or if you hear a heartbeat nearby you can tell if a survivor nearby is in chase by their pathing.

Its use is minimized while in a SWF, but even then it can be useful if your team is playing casually.
