  • Difference being that DS and BT don't singlehandedly bring back the game nearly as much as NOED does. Aswell as that, the counter to BT (and DS to an extent) is just not tunneling.

NOED, especially on a high mobility killer, can easily turn a 0K game into a 2K or more with little to no effort from the killer.

  • @R1ch4rd_N1x0n said:

As I've said many times, NOED should not be reworked until they make the game less Survivor sided. It does single handedly save Killers in the end but it's needed due to how hard Killer really is.

It's not "needed." I play 95% killer and have never felt like I won the game when I get kills with NOED, nor do I feel it was deserved. It's unhealthy.

Though I do agree some recent changes have been far too survivor sided.

  • Why should a perk be countered just cause someone is lucky enough to be running another perk? That makes no sense to me. How come hex perks are driven almost completely useless just because a survivor brings Counterforce?

I'm not saying perks shouldn't counter other perks at all, I'm saying your argument for an unfair, busted perk existing shouldn't be "well THIS perk counters it, so it's fine."

  • @AndyKuky said:

NOED is fine as is. There are three perks that make it very easy to find and cleanse all the totems.

Perks shouldn't be countered by other perks, and there shouldn't be perks you feel like you have to run.

  • They quite clearly want to keep the game in a somewhat serious tone, as they've removee cosmetic set bugs, reworked maps to make them more professional, etc. I doubt they'd add a YouTuber, especially one most consider somewhat goofy.

I just don't see it happening. Absoluty massive reach.

  • @CharlieChatBox said:

I think its because most speak French as their first language. Game is in english, most of the devs use french, causes translation issues.

Then they shouldn't be the ones writing them. It's a big company, they can hire writers and editors.

    • > Survior Perks have been getting nerfed back to back; Just recently COH received 2 hard nerfs, Boil Over lasted about a week, God forbid survivors get a perk they can get value out of or have fun with other than the meta, Parental Guidance didn’t even get a chance to make it to live without getting changed, and the new Boon is almost laughable… Seems The whole entire perk was born from a joke from 2 workers.

You really think COH and Boil Over were healthy for the game? They were horrid to ho against, and Boil Over was horrid for both sides when the killer had to slug.

    "Patrick, your bias is showing."

  • @Marc_123 said:

And the shaking is pretty big now.

Nevertheless a strange buff imo. Why not simply "you wiggle faster 2/4/6%".

That's basically already a basekit thing with new wiggling

  • I agree. And remove the message that says "new tier unlocked" when its just an empty slot lmao

  • I feel as though they would just be used as taunting. Especially a silence gesture lol

  • i think its fine though once killers learn of its existence they can just wait out the 5 secs

  • @dugman said:

How would Behaviour even know a given survivor isn’t just using that perk combo by chance? They would never ban people just for using a combination of perks.

They banned people for using double mend add-ons on Legion when it was bugged

  • @i_dont_care223 said:

hi so me and a friend Just came into a lobby with a hacking david we reported him and everything but the david gave my friend a firecracker that lasts forever he was able to use it over and over again and my question is can my friend get banned for using the hacked item that he didnt create?

If your friend abused it, yes obviously it's bannable. Though someone would've needed video proof most likely.

  • @Kurri said:

They would need someone to submit a support ticket, and in order to do anything with that support ticket it would need an in game report.

That's not how someone's Twitch shirts were taken away ;)

  • So instead of Wraith 2.0, she's Plague 2.0?

  • Should probably put this in "Feedback," not "Ask the Community." And this is the English forum, I doubt many here would be able to help.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/314071/what-is-it-with-bhvr-and-not-listening-to-the-community

I would hope that BHVR doesn't make changes solely off the Forums, or at least not solely to spite people from the Forums. There are a lot of other social media's they get their intel from including game statistics. There is also a matter of perception to understand, the game may not look the same to you as it does anyone else, or even the Dev's themselves. Anyways I got high on Sativa last night. A lot of emotion, and mind games comes with this game that causes things to be seen in a negative light. For example when you get stressed out or angry (symptoms of being burned out), you don't see the mistakes you mad while playing, and care a lot more about how easy it seems for the other side to beat you. Secondary I'm kind of glad they don't listen to the Forums so much. There seems to be a pretty big middle school status quo problem with the forums. We got mod/manager favorites that get away with pushing their own narrative and bullying others, and if you try to call them out or report them then you get warnings for it, so it's not exactly the kind of place I would expect the dev team to get a lot of feedback from unless they changed it from being community driven to company driven.

Anyways so far it doesn't seem like they make changes based solely on the Forums input, and to me that's a good thing even if the changes are not going well lately, because it could be worse.

There are things that are objectively good for the game, that they refuse to add. A toggle for the chat filter, for example.

Man I love when a bunch of kids with no families to be responsible for, no experience running a big project and no experience scheduling (outside of retail) come around to tell everyone how it should be, lol.

    Seriously.

    1. Split shifts. Clearly some form of that already happens for actual emergencies (like say, the servers being down) having half your dev team spend 4 days working alone is a recipe for horrible team communication, and at best will only massively slow down development cycles. At worst you end up with 2 teams who aren't talking doing different things to "fix" the game, some of which will break what the other is doing.

Split schedules work for retail, support and anywhere else that customers have to be dealt with without making any real changes to the product. When you are building or maintaining a complex system, you need team communication far more than you do 7 day availability.

    2. Good luck getting an adult with kids to agree to sacrifice every weekend for that. Sure when you're 20 something and your biggest commitment is the weekly club night, it's no big. When you're 40 and looking at giving up the only 2 days you have to spend time with your family and do things together? Entirely different story.

    3. You know why you want to have the decision to kill switch be handled by higher ups? Because if your support staff can do it, they'll end up kill switching whatever they hear a complaint about, even if that complaint isn't valid, true, etc just to finish the support ticket.

Seriously, look what happened when they gave wow support the ability to give items to players. For the whole 2 months it was active you could just open a ticket in a dungeon, swear you saw a specific piece of loot but it got bugged, and voila, it's in your mailbox. That ######### was abused so badly that had those items cost blizzard even a penny each, the company would have gone bankrupt.

    4. The ooo bug really isn't an emergency. At worst it's currently giving people the same info they would have with a good swf. It's annoying, but nothing so bad that fixing it can't wait until Monday. If it wasn't for streamers literally walking their viewers through exploiting it, you likely wouldn't have even noticed.

Nurse? I think by now it's safe to say the last thing you want to do is work on nurse in haste. Also, since she's been brought back, there have been so many people complaining that they have to face her, that I wouldn't at all be surprised to find they are also submitting false bug reports just to try and get her kill switched again. That's not to say she's working perfectly, but her current bugs will take time to suss out fully if we want them fixed correctly.

    5. Lastly, it's been 6 years. Can we please stop pretending that things they've been doing as a company since before the game was even made are suddenly"killing the game" now? For one, the reports of DbD's demise are greatly exaggerated without a ton of real evidence. (Oh wow, there was a massive population spike on steam when it went on sale and released Resident Evil characters? It's almost like RE is a massively popular franchise that got people to take a look or something) and for two, if there is a sudden population drop, it's more likely to be due to a recent change rather than a policy that has been in place the entire life of the game.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk. If you read to the end go ahead and tell me your favorite color, and why it's purple.

The Blood Pact bug gives a permanent 7% speed boost. Don't tell me that's just as much as a "good swf"

  • @Mandy said:

Not on a break no, but we do work Mondays to Fridays and have weekends off...like most companies do.

Work/Life balance is something that Behaviour Interactive take very seriously.

As this is probably coming from discussions around the killswitch, it would need more than a skeleton crew to make that decision as it's more of a Lead decision - it's pretty rare for things to come up on a weekend and most of our work is done during our working week. It is unfortunate that all this came to light on a weekend.

So when a perk is so bugged that the entire community is screaming, that decision is too big?

Nothing more I can give you. If you don't believe me, don't respond.

  • @Nathan13 said:

oh my god some of you guys really expect BHVR to be working 24/7??? give them a break...

Did you not read anything here? You can have different schedules without overworking your employees. Not everyone has to work Monday-Friday 9-5.

If it was deleted, instead of closed like you originally stated, then something in the comments must've happened to cause the mods to delete instead of just close. There's alot of posts on the forums that are about chat with complaints/ideas for changes that the argument of "it's because BHVR doesn't want to listen" doesn't work - all those posts would be deleted including the one I linked if that was the case.

Then how about they just delete the offending comments, instead of deleting the whole discussion? Sounds to me like a horrible way to handle things.

  • @Yatol said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2848493#Comment_2848493

ignored? maybe, sometimes they have to be tight lipped on certain things so we dont know if they are aware about until it pops on the stream

    downplayed? like what?

deleted? no, they don't, If its deleted its because of how its was posted.

My best example of them ignoring or downplaying things would be most questions on the Q&A livestream. I haven't watched it for a while so I can't list specifics but I remember vividly them downplaying big critiques or ignoring big questions. And no, there was nothing wrong with the wording of the deleted posts I've seen. They were just closed or deleted for no reason.

  • @bm33 said:

Are you sure the posts are actually closed and not moved to different sub forum - usually Feedback because that is where the post belongs, not General Discussion.

This is most recent chat filter post I've seen that says "closed" on first page of General Discussion but that's because it was moved to Feedback where it is still very much open, you can continue to comment on it there.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/313897/remove-the-chat-filter

I can't link you to the deleted post because it's.. deleted.

“Back in the office”? Haven’t they been working remotely for like 2 years now?

Also, how long does it really take to apply a kill switch? Is this a super complicated thing?

I believe they haven't killswitched it just cause they're on weekend break right now. Why they don't have a skeleton crew is beyond me.

  • @N3oN667 said:

3 games played today, 3 cases of people abusing this perk combo. I made an account on here just to post to this thread, I'm flabbergasted that this hasn't been addressed yet, considering it's game breaking.

Yup, and people are actually defending them. Though if you want to play still, I've heard using Mindbreaker (Fearmonger) helps as anything that gives the blindness status effect prevents the wallhack part of it. Though in regards to the speed increase.. you're screwed.

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

FYI there can (and preferably should) be some people working on weekends within reason, especially on a game with bugs popping out left and right. Rescheduling off days to the weekdays is something lots of businesses do.

Though emphasis on WITHIN REASON, you don't want to give a parent with kids a weekend shift when kids are off school.

Tbh I'm just happy nobody at BHVR is getting sexually harassed cough activision cough

Though emphasis on WITHIN REASON, you don't want to give a parent with kids a weekend shift when kids are off school.

I mean that's why you put it in the job listing. Each job is for a specific type of person, and that's why job listings with details exist instead of you just being assigned a random one when applying for a company. There are many people whose lives would not at all be affected by working a different schedule than most people, apart from maybe making social gatherings harder to attend.

  • @Yatol said:

they do but maybe if there where less dumb questions asking for dumb thing like seeing a male survivors genitals, it would be more noticeable.

My point is that there are genuine critiques, and yet they get ignored, downplayed, or flat out deleted.

  • @Mooks said:

They can’t listen to the community on everything because we contradict eachother all the time. There is the obvious surv vs killer mentality of course but also skilled vs unskilled, casual vs competitive, cheaters vs surv/killer rule book defenders and so on.

and the devs have shown they are listening on feedback, OoO, DS, Mori, key, hatch, Spirit changes, and arguably most of killer reworks though some were overdone.

it’s just that they are slow and there is a TON that needs adjustments. Priorities (and yes also money income is important for them as a company)

The community was asking for those changes for YEARS before they were done. I don't think that's called listening to the community, I think that's called being bugged about it so long for 2+ years it creeps into your subconscious.

  • @GuyFawx said:

You guys dont realize that their are guild rules I work in television and the studios all have to follow specific guidlines for work hours and payment. Now i do not know if the videogame industry itself also has a work union but I think it does as almost every other entertainment branch does. So if they do work those extra hours they have to be compensated for it and its reported to their work union. Sure its not fair to leave a game in a broken state for a few days but usually bhvr has been decent at fixing MOST things. Yes they have a few theyve left too long in a broken state but if you yourself do not know any programming then you probably should keep your mouth shut as bug fixing is a b!tch when you have so many lines of code to sift through which sometimes can be found automatically through the software just not always. This is why some companies have teams where their only job is quality testing to find bugs and issues and BHVR itself might have one it just doesnt seem likely at times. Anyways you guys need to chill a bit and remember covid has alot of people running on edge things will get fixed when the fix doesnt cause more issues.

I'm referring more to the Blood Pact + OoO bug than the rank reset and Nurse bugs. It's as easy as flipping a switch (or at least it should be if everything is setup correctly), so there's no excuse for it not to happen. It takes a single person to drive to the office, or even activate it remotely as that's likely in place.

And nobody should have to do that in the first place, as many people including myself have stated here, any multiplayer game as buggy and big as this one SHOULD have a skeleton crew that works a different schedule. There's no excuse.

  • At the end of the day it doesn't matter if it's an emergency to anyone, it's an emergency to the company. We're talking capitalism here. Anything that ruins player experience, and as such profit, is an emergency to the company.

From a profit-centered point of view, this is an emergency.

From a consumer's point of view, this is an emergency.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

You sound like someone who hasn't worked a day in his life.

I think I sound more like someone who thinks a live service should always have maintenance crew. No, devs dont have to work 7 days a week. But they should have a secondary crew with a different shift like Thursday - Monday. Having 2 days of no devs in a multiplayer game is suicide.

  • Would be nice if BHVR included control settings that weren't on par with the early 2000s. Oh well, just gotta deal with it for now.

How ridiculous? Judging by your answer, this add-on has a relatively high value. I just don't think the add on should be green but rather yellow/brown.

So you're saying that it should be moved to a different rarity? That I agree with.

  • White Glyph, when you escape with it you get ~25k BP. And blur names.

  • damn he's got some bad indigestion

  • low quality cause they were very old and transferred from xbox to onedrive to google drive a few times

I think it’s going to reset in about fourteen minutes. It’s not bugged, just shifted by daylight savings.

If it was shifted by Daylight Savings, it would've been 48 minutes ago. The normal time is 10AM CST / 11AM EST.

  • Modders are so easily able to add them back with just a few file changes, it's unfortunate they don't want to do something that's seemingly so simple.

  • Still nothing.

  • I don't see why not. The pause menu should also include information on dailies.

  • It should appear just as often as other add-ons, like it already does. This is a ridiculous question.

  • It's also important to remember there are 4x more survivors than there are killers. So if you get one "toxic" survivor, then the equivalent would be going against 3 fine killers, and one toxic killer.

  • No. The support team has stated multiple times it isn't. And some content creators are using it, so..

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Someone just mentioned that switching to Daylight Savings Time has probably messed it up and that seems plausable

Completely forgot about that, good point. Thanks!

  • 10AM CST, 11AM EST. Trust me I'd know, I'm CST and am always excited for updates.

  • I thought it was always at 10AM CST, aka in 4 minutes? Like updates.

  • I don't blame 'em for leaving Switch out. Nobody is gonna buy the game after witnessing the horrid framerate and graphics.
