Let's hope survivor get an indicator then, otherwise they might take risks for a bot that won't necessarily help them except being a distraction for hard tunneler.
You're underestimating the power of a bot vs your typical solo queue teammate.

Cheating is an ongoing battle in any online game, and Dead by Daylight is no exception: There is a never-ending arms race between game developers and cheat makers to find and fix new vulnerabilities. Tackling these vulnerabilities has always been and will remain a top priority to us.
Lately, many of you have shared your experiences playing against cheaters, and we have no intention to leave you in the dark. First and foremost, we are abundantly aware of the ongoing situation, and we have been treating it very seriously. To put it bluntly, cheating sucks, and while we have made many measures to prevent it, it frustrates us just as much as you to hear that someone ruined your experience.
We tend to stay quiet when it comes to cheating to avoid giving cheat developers vital information, but given recent events, we’ve decided to pull back the curtain and shed some light on what we’ve been doing to combat cheating and what we’ll be working on moving forward. Please forgive any vague language in this post; we cannot share any information which could be used to make it easier to cheat.
How We Deal With Cheaters
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/3OX8NVSKMSFH/cheater-total.png
In Dead by Daylight, we have zero tolerance for cheaters. Once we detect someone has cheated (or is trying to cheat), their account is permanently banned from the game. There are a few ways we address cheats:
- Automated bans: We work with our anti-cheat partner, Easy Anti-Cheat, to report and track new cheats. If the anti-cheat detects one of these being used, they are automatically banned.
- In-game countermeasures: We make changes to both the game client and dedicated servers to prevent cheaters from doing certain things. This lessens the impact of cheats and reduces the amount of damage they can do.
- Manual bans: We investigate your reports and manually block cheaters. This is crucial when a new cheat has not yet been tracked by the anti-cheat.
In the last 7 days alone, we have banned over 2,000 cheaters, contributing to a total of over 200,000 banned over the lifetime of the game. Additionally, we have continued to expand our team and processes to deal with cheaters more efficiently.
There is still work to be done, but our team has made considerable efforts to strengthen various aspects of the game, such as preventing modification to certain game files, to block specific avenues for cheaters to exploit and lessen the impact of the cheats that surface.
Future Improvements
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/IQ0CDEYNWCG5/cheater-roadmap.png
Going forward, we plan to further bolster the game against cheaters. This will be done in various ways.
First, we will continue to identify & fix vulnerabilities to limit the effects of cheats. This includes additional measures to prevent player sniping (forcefully joining a specific player’s lobby). The first version of this fix is currently slated for this fall and we’ll continue to monitor the situation to ensure that it does not resurface. Fixes like these will be an ongoing process.
Second, we will be adding failsafes to commonly exploited portions of the game. For example, should a match ever continue beyond the end game collapse for longer than 5 minutes, the game will forcibly end. Additionally, the max game time will be reduced from 2 hours to 1 hour or less. This particular change is planned for this Q4 2022, and further measures are being explored.
Third, we will continue to implement server-side validation where possible. This takes authority away from a cheater’s game client and puts it on a dedicated server, making cheating much more difficult. This is an ongoing process.
Fourth, we have improvements in the works for both our player support tools to better deal with cheats internally, and in-game report system to give you feedback on when a player you’ve reported was banned. Player reports are a keystone of our cheat prevention measures and providing this feedback is essential to letting you know that your reports are being dealt with seriously. These improvements are scheduled for Q1 2023.
Beyond in-game improvements, we will be communicating on our progress against cheats more regularly as part of our Developer Updates and beyond. We want to keep you in the loop and share as much information as we safely can. Last but not least, we want to stress that these are by no means the only measures we are working on, but rather the ones we can safely share with you at this time.
How You Can Help
While cheating will always be dealt with as swiftly as possible, your help is invaluable. There are a few ways you can help is in the fight against cheating.
The best way to help is to use the in-game report system. These reports are critical and help us identify possible cheaters. If you have a video of someone cheating, you can also send it to our support team through this link: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us
Beyond reporting cheating you encounter, our support team is always available should you have any information on potential exploits or cheats.
Fostering a safe, cheat-free experience in Dead by Daylight is and will always be a top priority for the team. As with any online game, cheating is an ongoing battle, and we remain committed to making cheating as difficult as possible. We have been working diligently to limit the number and impact of cheats, and we hope that this post shared some insight into the work we’ve been doing behind the scenes. Going forward, we hope to keep you in the loop with regular communications regarding cheating and share as much info as we safely can.
Until next time…

They're not appealing to these players tho. They are actually making good changes.
-
I don't want to play lobby simulator.
-
The fact that you can't see the shop, swap killer to level him up and select a challenge as you're queing as killer is just terrible in my opinion. You just have to sit there for a couple of minutes looking at nothing. You couldn't even read killer's lore for a few weeks a couple of months back.

Yeah, I just think on survivor side at least it doesn't measure skill at all
A killer can just facecamp and gain MMR since the person on the hook will die.
-
Sadly the hatchet goes through the bird 🐦
-
"Go play Civilization"
-
If all the survivors manage to go down within 45 seconds, the killer deserves the win. You can't even go down in 45 seconds if you hold forward from one side of the map to another. I think this change is fine.

Can peeps put forth a reason of why? I hate Jolt as I am tired of getting close to a Gen been done and it bangs, along with all the other gen regres perks and dead hard whats the point now?
Sure, I updated mine.
-
They can also start by giving the killers (who have first person Mori) the third person view to make it more cinematic.

Look on Twitter lol
Never look on Twitter for feedback.
-
I would say
Killer: Pain Resonance, it's just boring to begin a gen, getting punished by removing 15% of it even if you let go from the gen
Survivor: Prove Thyself, it speeds up the gens too much l and the killer doesn't have time to hook 4 people that the game is over.
-
It's PTB, nobody actually tries things for how they should be tried. If you play as nurse people will just quit even if you want to actually test something with her. Pointless to say the least
-
Or they never went against flashlight clickers before. This change came out of nowhere.
-
I also play for challenges since they require you to do other things as survivor instead of gens only. As killer I find challenges much easier than survivor's since they just require you to play the game normally, which is fine.
-
I hope next year at this point.
-
Clearly it's a sneaky Claudette who did nothing all game and just escaped.
-
I'm ok with the Mori change. Sad thing is that I won't be able to take selfies with other survivors while using Ghostface anymore
-
A teammate because he couldn't boon
-
I don't know you but from my experience, every time a killer brought a Mori it wasn't nice. What happened was that the killer, in order to get the Mori, would tunnel every survivor one by one.
It's not really fun to be tunneled all match. If the killer also use a Mori on you it just makes you quit the game and call it a day.
-
I agree, some survivor perks are so bad that you can't even make a build around them. I'm perfectly fine with BHVR buffing these perks as they're used by nobody, really. I'm not saying to make them OP, but not even horrible.

Ey yo so when will you guys fix Dead Hard bug? You nerfed the perk to the ground but you never bother to fix the bug really?
I activate the perk and the exhaust status pop but I still got hit and down, the animation was never show so that mean the perk it self was never activate but I still got exhausted... Again if this was a free game I wouldn't say $hit but it's not, so fix your god D@mn game!
If you're using it like old dead hard, I have some bad news for you.
-
I'm not reading all of that. All I know is that there will definitely be changes from PTB to live.
-
Everything for a pack of dunkaroos.
-
Just don't slug in some cases. It will just waste a survivor perk slot. Even better for me to be honest
-
Cool idea.
-
If you play twins it's guaranteed that you'll get the last survivor at the exit.
-
The problem with the one we have right now is that it's too slow compared to Ghostface's fast animation while he's chasing. It's just bad in my opinion.
Here's a comparison (not mine) between the new one and the old ones:
https://youtu.be/0ShRUfd-fmYFrom the killer's POV the newest one feels too slow:
https://youtu.be/JdtxjIfHCFc -
I was about to take your post seriously.
-
Simple answer: If you play solo you'll get paired mostly with other solo players since good players tend to play with a full team. If you play as killer you have a better chance to find full groups of friends and that's why you don't find them while YOU play as survivor.
-
They could try a weekend with no penalty and see what happens.
-
Just let them bleed out. They're asking for it. Until they fix this spot this is the only way to handle it.
-
Right now you will have no idea if the cheater you played against gets banned.
-
Not a problem for me. It's just a good QOL update
-
Myers on a Farm map is guaranteed at this point.
-
Yeah dude, let killer watch his arm for 5 seconds + 2 seconds of pallet stun into a blind.
Many people were forcing the DS anyway.

i like the twins but her boob grosses me out really if i had to pick a part of her that made me puke it'd definitely be her boob

First world problems 🤨

That's a solid no. Let's say I wait as killer 5 mins to get into a match. If you're nurse it's an insta 4 man DC right there after the first blink. If it's Wesker it's another DC because "I face the same killer over and over". If it's Twins "they're slugging me". If it's Bubba "he's facecamping" and the list goes on.
Same goes for killer. Map they don't like, insta DC. You get 3 gens done and he didn't even get a hook, insta DC. You loop very well, insta DC. Flashlight click or a teabag, insta DC. And the list goes on, here too.
Bad idea
-
I got my quest "break 50 pallets" on Gideon. I knew I could do it faster on that map so I had to bring the offering for it. Took me a couple of matches.
-
I don't think you'll ever get to a point to have someone using DS while he's the last survivor standing. It means you need to have either 3 more people on the ground and the last one up. DS lasts 60 seconds and other players can get up in 45 seconds at base or 22 with unbreakable.
Unless you brutally tunnel everyone out of the game with 2 people alive, I'm sure that if you slug for the 4k and have the last person with DS up, this really shouldn't happen. In case you do this, I'm sure DS won't work. You clearly go down if you get grabbed, meaning the Mori animation will begin as you go on killer's shoulder. Game will probably give you a black screen after you get grabbed and teleport you to a preset location on the map.
Short answer: no, I'm sure it won't work. Otherwise you have to make deliverance work even if you're the last survivor with no hooks.
-
We all simp for a videogame character at some point.
-
Maybe they can make it so that the obsession instantly dies on the hook if they really don't want to have a mori for a perk. Just like Devour 5 stacks
-
@Huge_Bush said:
And just select Pyramid Cake Daddy and not worry about slugging or hooking. Just make sure to equip Mad Grit when you see me in lobby and use me as a backpack and let me feel your muscular body pressed up against mine.
Make sure to harass the devs to give you a shirtless mankini outfit so my eyes can feast on your body.
My reaction to that information:
-
Finally I have to say. It was really boring from the survivor side to stay on the ground until the killer found the other person. It made the whole process very tedious and a complete waste of time.
As killer I just go for chases and hooks, so really nothing at all will change for me.
-
I get it too during late evening but it lasts 10 minutes, really.

I'm also a little surprised more survivors don't run Breakdown since that's a direct counter to Pain Resonance and other Scourge Hook perks. Unless you're a god like runner you're going to get hooked once or twice per match probably and if the killer is running Pain Resonance those will be on Scourge Hooks. But if the Scourge Hook is removed for 3 minutes every time someone is rescued from it that could quickly leave the killer with no good Scourge Hooks for a good portion of the match, especially if multiple survivor ran it.
Mind you, Breakdown isn't nearly as good if the killer has no Scourge Hooks. But Pain Resonance is right now the most popular killer perk by a pretty good margin so there's a pretty decent chance you'd get value from Breakdown (probably).
Yeah you're right. I may run breakdown too at this point. No scourge for killer 😎
-
I'd love survivors getting their own background theme.
-
100% agree. Maybe a good start would be to have him switch between snares and dream pallets, just like clown does with his bottles.
-
I remember when there was no entity block on windows, killer was vaulting very slowly and survivor always got fast vaults.
